5800 XM poor connection with CK-7W

I have had the new phone for about 6 weeks now and am generally very impressed.  4 reasons for choosing it over the iPhone: 1. cheaper, 2. Can have soare batteries, 3. Can work legally in UK on Orange and 4. we have 2 CK-7Ws fitted in the 2 cars that my wife an I use and one would have thought it would be logical to assume thgat 2 Nokia devices would work well together on Bluetooth...  I blew it!  it took me 2 days to get the 5800 to find the CK-7W at all, let alone pair with it.  I must say it pairs OK evey time now BUT it loses sound every few minutes of most conversations and is always very echo-y for the person on the other end.  Nokia now tell me that the 2 devices are not compatible, which seems ludicrous.I also understand that this is the case with many of the newer handsets.  Surely all that would be needed would be a small software update to fix it, wouldn't it?
Does anybody have any information or tips to hep?

hi i got n95 black and in my car have got ck-7w kit.am having problem from a week it was working fine for 2wks now my phone doesnot make connection with it.if i try to connect manualy then message comes on phone "unable to make bluetooth connection"dont know why can anyone tell me what to do? thanks

  • "Poor Connection" with Facetime

    Hello Facetime pros,
I can no longer facetime with any of my usual contacts.  We have a strong connection to the local wifi.  We get an initial answer with a frozen frame from the other side, the audio is too choppy to use.  Looking for help on this.
Here's our status - Facetime was previously working fine - could go to Uruguay and Wisconsin - no issues.
When I buy my mom an Ipad for xmas - and we try and facetime - poof - the issue above.  I try with my usual contacts - same issue.  I try from varioius wifi networks to try and isolate to a wifi issue on my side - same trouble from all the networks I try to all the recipients I've previoiusly contacted successfully.
We have tried all the suggestions here from Facetime Troubleshooting here -> http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3367
We have also tried these that one runs into when searching for this issue:
Toggle Wi-Fi off and back on again (Settings > Wi-Fi).
Toggle FaceTime off and back on again (Settings > FaceTime).
    Restart your router.
    Reset your router.
Restart your device by pressing and holding the power button.
Force the FaceTime app to close and launch again. To do so, double tap the home button, then tap and hold the FaceTime app icon; when they jiggle tap the minus to close the app. Double click the home button and restart the FaceTime app.
Changing DNS info may fix FaceTime connection issues. To do this on iOS devices, simply tap Settings > Wi-Fi and then tap the blue arrow next to your Wi-Fi connection and edit the DNS field (enter the DNS servers; 8.8.8.8; Google’s Public DNS) . Please see this article for more info.
Tap Settings > General > Date & Time and set a time that is one year ahead (like 2013) and try again. If this does not solve the issue, make sure you toggle “Set Automatically” on.
I have not tried reseting my device, but I had done that recently for another reason, so it's been done within the last 30 days.
    Please help.

  • Poor connectivity with new modem

Sunday, 8/2/2015, I replaced my Zoom modem with a Netgear n600 C3700 that I purchased. I called in to have it activated. I was able to get online and view pages like google.com and yahoo.com, but other sites would not load. The cs rep told me that were outages in the area due to the thunderstorms, and that it would be fine. It is not fine. It turns out I can only connect to a handful of sites - google, yahoo, netflix, facebook... but just about every other site won't load at all. (Page not available) I have done dns resets and all manner of suggested fixes found on sevenforums via my phone's 3G connection, but the problem is present on all my mobile devices, as well, and with multiple browsers. The modem's web ui shows all systems go. The connection also breaks every once in a while. It will usually come back on it's own in 5-10 minutes. A reboot of the modem will also fix it. I have been on the phone with customer support FOUR TIMES, totalling about 5 HOURS. Each time they follow the script and want to reboot my modem and power cycle and empty my cache and clear my cookies and then after all that tell me they will escalate the case to a specialist.  Well it's been FOUR DAYS. I have not heard from one of these specialists who is supposed to call me back. Do these people actually exsist? I know a guy (doesn't everybody?) who tells me it might be that the isp is still looking for my old modems MAC address, even though the old modem has been deactivated and removed from the system. This "guy I know" is a comcast installer. He's an actual cable guy. He says he's seen it before, and has called it in and had it corrected, but that cs reps can't do it.  Is this a thing? Will somebody please fix it before my wife has another fit? All I wanted to do was upgrade my modem.

TDuncan813 wrote: ... The initial reason I wanted to upgrade was that I was experiencing frequent service drops. ...Please see Connection Troubleshooting Tips. If you want to troubleshoot this yourself and still need help, please provide Information Requested for Connection-Related Posts.
If you are using Wifi it's best to switch to an Ethernet connection if possible while checking the reliability of your connection to Comcast.
If you'd rather have them do the troubleshooting call them at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or chat with them using one of the "Trouble" options at https://www.comcastsupport.com/chatentry/, and have them send a tech out to identify the cause and correct it.
If the tech finds bad coax, splitters, amplifiers, or connections in your home (even if Comcast originally supplied them) you'll probably have to pay for the visit unless you have their Service Protection Plan (http://www.xfinity.com/spp/, about $5/mo). If the trouble is due to a faulty Comcast modem, eMTA, gateway device, or anything outside your home, you shouldn't be charged.

  • Why my iphone has poor connection with my home wifi when other smart phones ,don't?

I´ve tried everything!! I also had an experienced technitian to reset my router. Every single tip, was tried out, but I still having the same problem. I only get wifi conjnection when I am very close to the router. Also, If I leave the house, when I am back , the phone is not abble to find the wifi. One of my friends has a galaxy smartphone and it works just fine. I am very desapointed !

My wife's iPhone 5 is have the same kinda issue with her wifi.  After update to iOS 7.0.2, all of a sudden, the wifi just *****!  It drops out at home and is unable to locate any networ when in fact there are 6 in my neighborhood including the three of my own. • E63 poor connection with car radio

Ok it may be a pretty cheap radio from Maplins but since I've paired the E63 the connection drops every few seconds and I've yet to make a succesful call - my last 'phone worked flawlessly with it (HTC Artemis) - anyone any thoughts please ... regards Roger

Yes, I have a similar problem which is a real pain if the call is dropped mid-conversation. Have you installed the MS Exchange email client from Nokia because that may cause a disconnect during a poll update.
Other than that I can't suggest anything, except it would be good to get a solution to the problem!

  • Ps3 and ps vita had a poor connection with airport express but it works well with my macbook air and iPad and my iPhone , anyone can help please?

    please advice!
    i am using the 802.11n (2nd generation)

I have already tried this but still the same. I have also tried un-pairing my speakers and re-pairing! Still get broken playback at times. This even happens when I am close to the bluetooth receiver.

  • 5800 does not maintain connection with Sony Ericss...

I recently upgraded from the N70 to the 5800. I was using a Sony Ericsson HBH-602 bluetooth headset with the N70, and it worked perfectly. Specifically, as long as bluetooth was enabled on the phone, all I had to do was turn on the headset and it would connect with the phone, and remain connected as long as both were powered on and in range.
With the 5800, the headset also connects to the phone when turned on, but the phone drops the connection a few seconds later. However, if I initiate the connection from the phone, it works as expected, and remains connected. This is usable, but it would be preferable if I could control the connection entirely from the headset, as described above.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem but with Nokia BH-903.
It worked really fine with the N95, but with the 5800 it doesn't work so well. When i am in a call it always disconnect to the phone, or when i am listening to music it paused the music or it disconnect.

  • When I FaceTime friends in Tenerife, the video is on for a few seconds then their picture freezes followed by a blank screen with a Poor Connection message. When they Facetime back, the video is perfect. Has anybody any ideas?

I had this same thing happen to me.  I was using my brand new iphone 5 (texting and listening to music through the speakers) when it flashed the apple logo, stopped my music and brought me to the lock screen.

  • TS3367 I am using Ipad mini face time with another Ipad user in Shanghai, but after a few seconds, I got black screen, saying poor connection and that's it. Very frustrated. Any idea?

I am having problems of using Face time. I signed in and connected with another Ipad Mini in Shanghai, but while the other side could see me all the time, my screen turned black after a few seconds, and saying "poor connection". It happened all the time, I started to use skype, but it is crazy of having a new mini, and having this device. It  is very frustrating.

Find a location with a faster Internet connection. The slow connection message is telling you you have a slow connection or one that's too busy.

  • 5800 + bh-103 problem with bluetooth connection

    Hello,
I have nokia 5800 xpressmusic with Version 30.0.011.C03.01 that was issued for the phone in 29/06/09.
I also bought bh-103 bluetooth stereo handsfree and to my pity i realized that from time to time the bluetooth connection between my 5800 and my bh-103 is faulty. The phone shows that it is connected with this bluetooth but you cannot dial nethier from phone nor from the bluetooth bh-103. Even if i power off the bh-103 the phones stil shows  the bluetooth connection to be active(the icon of the headphone dissapears). If i power on the bh-103 even if the icon of the headphone in the display of the 5800 dissapears it can't be paired. What i mean is that the phone shows both the bluetooth connection to be opened plus the icon of the headset in the display but as i mentioned before you can't voice dial by pressing the big center button of the bh-103, neither you can dial from the phone itself.
    Has anyone faced similar problems?
P.S. this kind of problems i am facing since i bought the phone with the already installed version of the firmware

First, restore factory settings in your 5800 phone. Next reset the BH-103 by pressing and holding down the multifunction key for more than 8 seconds.
Now, turn it on (press and hold down the multifunction key for approx. 4sec)
Turn on the bluetooth in your 5800 (you must do it within a second or two after you turn on the headset)
Wait for the headset to detect and pair with the phone. The pass code is 0000. In your phone, set the headset as authorized, so that it can connect to your phone automatically.
If the problem persists, I would advise you to check for the same behaviour with another bluetooth headset. Do you have problems while transferring files, connecting to the PC thru PC Suite, etc using Bluetooth?
    Cheers,

Ok, i've been having issue with Ovi suite and Windows 7 enterprise for a few months w/o solution.  Ovi didn't recognize Nokia 5800 at all until today.  The problem was Windows 7 automatically installed a different driver instead of the driver in Nokia's Ovi directory.  So what i did was right click on the phone from Devices and Printer, select properties, then select hardware tab, then change the driver to C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver.  After that, Ovi Suite recognized the phone immediately.

  • 5800 has poor reception through Nissan Factory fit...

    Hi All
Have just upgraded from N95 to 5800, and am generally pleased with the phone.
Sadly, the phone has a very poor connection through my Nissan Navaras Bluetooth Hands free.  My old N95 connected fine, with crisp sound etc.
The 5800 however is realy poor, and pretty much unusable on the hands free.
It pairs up fine etc, but thats about all.  The car is a Nissan Navara, and the Bluetooth is in-built as part of the Sat Nav.
Any tips or ideas to sort this out?? - If not, the phone is going back.
    Hope you can help

    Hi rhys9918
Unfortunately your 5800XM is probably too new for the vehicle and it is quite difficult for car manufacturer's to play catch up; the specification of Navara was signed off quite a while ago and I am pleasantly surprised that N95 has performed well with it!

The wifi symbol only indicates the presence/signal strength of wifi. Not that you are connected.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
