5800 XpressMusic can't set Lock Code

I’m having a problem to set up a password in 5800 XpressMusic. I know the default password is 12345, but I can’t change it. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Thanks in advance
Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Security > Phone and SIM card > Lock code > 12345 > New lock code > 11111 > Code error

Try to lock your phone by entering default code. Check whether it's working or not.

  • I can not disable lock code for n8

Decided to setup the mail for exchange on my N8 so I could see my work emails. Worked like a charm but after a couple of hours decided I didn't like being that contactable so deleted the mailbox.
Now to the problem, during setup I was forced to enable the phone lock and had to pick an 8 digit numeric code. Fair enough I thought and went ahead. When I removed the mailbox however the lock remained in place with the default auto time of 20 minutes. When I checked in Phone management there is no option to disable this lock so I thought I could at least change the default time to something bigger but when you try, it remains at 20 mins. You also can't disable the auto time as it pops up an error message saying can't unlock phone

Yes, that phonelock is very unpleasant - caused by Mail-for-exchange ; the Phonelock is my reason to Un-install Mail-for-Exchange [you can't type a Five-digit code into your phone everytime you want to start Maps : you would crash your car!] . . . I will have to find a Mail-client that doesn't annoy me

it says "video call not supported by network", even though I'm using a postpaid 3G SimCard. Does my hp

I think you already gave the answer yourself "video call not supported by network".
That means that either your network does not support video calls or in the area you were trying to make the call you had no 3G coverage. Is this possible?

  • How can I set/lock my maximum witdh...

    Hello,
Ik making a simpel website. But i want to lock the maximum width. So the site will not go larger then i want. And can i center the website in the brower?
    Thx

You can do both of those things.
    Max-width
For max-width on the Container object, the input is here:
That will restrict the width of the page to 1024px max. So it will narrow when less than 1024px, but only expand out to a max of 1024px.
    Centered Objects
As for centering, we have a shortcut for that. You can apply it to both the Container (will center the site) and to individual objects (will center them within their parent). You can find that here:
Keep in mind this will only center horizontally.
Reflow does not yet have a good way to do vertical alignment. This is partially a historical issue with CSS, and partially that we don't want to introduce hacky solutions into Reflow, unless they are standards based. That said, we're getting closer with things like flexbox, which is being quickly adopted, and has solutions for vertical alignment. We don't yet have flexbox features in Reflow, unfortunately.

  • Setting up a lock code (N97)

How do I enable it so I'll be asked to enter it at every startup? At settings all I can do is change the lock code, and I did change it, but where is the option to enable it? I only see an option to enable the pin code request...Do I have to use this option? Because I don't have the pin code.
I just want to have a lock code request at every startup...
    Thanks

The pin code is the 4 digit pin code for your sim card. Yo should have received it with your sim. If not contact your service provider. Once you have the code, you can then set Pin code request to "On". This means everytime you switch on the phone you will be asked to enter this pin. Next you also want to set Lock if SIM card changed to "Yes". Make sure you remember the lock code because the only way to reset it is to bring it to a Nokia Care Point.
With both the settings, what happens when someone turns on your phone is they get asked for the pin. If they dont have the pin they might decide to change the sim then tehy will be asked for the lock code.

  • 5800 XpressMusic - Password for screen/key block

I apologise in advance if this has been asked 10000 times already, but I can't find it anywhere in the Bedienungsanleitung or here.
How can I set a code for the screen/key block so that only I can actually use my phone?
If it's somewhere on the net then just a link would be fine
    Thanks in advance!

to add to that, default lock code is 12345. Change the code in the Settings of the phone.

  • N900 lock code attempts?

I was just wondering, if you enter an incorrect lock code on the N900 it just states that the code is incorrect. Is there a maximum number of times that you can enter the lock code before the phone does something like wipe itself?
    Thanks

All Nokias come with a default code of 12345 out of the box.
If I remember rightly Symbian based devices used to have an app called "Wallet" for storing sensitive data, but for some strange reason they stopped including it.
I used to use an app called "Phone Guardian" for my N95-8GB. It was very similar to "Find My Phone", but you installed the client on the main handset, set everything up (including a special text recognition message). If the phone gets stolen or lost you can remotely lock it by sending that text message from any other handset. If the lost/stolen handset had GPS it would then send a reply with the co-ordinates of where it was when the lock was activated. You could also track the device by sending that text over again. And if the sim card got changed or someone tried to get round the lock the device would emit a VERY LOUD wailing noise and display a message that it has been stolen/lost. And believe me it was damn loud.
    Sounds identical to wavesecure.
I hope someone hurries up and develops it for Maemo, as far as i'm concerned a device as expensive as the N900 needs one, and it's a bit of a letdown that the iPhone and some others come with them as default.

hi, is there any way I can disable the lock code? I have full access to the phone, I know the lock code and I can change it to anything I want.. but having to enter the code everytime I want to unlock the phone is time consuming. is there a way I can disable it?

How about going to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM > scroll down to Phone autolock period = None - thinks it asks for your lock code again before allowing you to change.

  • Lock code after reset to factory settings

I have changed my lock code from default and I remember it. Since I had some software issues, I reset the phone (Nokia 5230) to factory settings by giving the lock code.
Today when I enter (after resetting) my personal lock code, the phone didn't accept it. I tryied several times and got a warning message.  Will my phone become locked permanently if I enter the wrong lock code again? What should I do? Please help.

You get locked out for increasing lengths of time before you can input another lock code upon repeated tries. Although it should not have changed, presumably you tried factory default of 12345 as one of your attempts? If all else fails a visit to Nokia Care facility with proof of purchase beckons.

There is no other way to bypass the combintation lock other than to connect the nano to iTunes and restore it to factory settings, erasing all content and settings from the iPod.

  • How do I set up a lock code for my Nokia C2-02?

Hi, I have a used Nokia C2-02 phone from a seller on eBay.
I wish to protect my privacy so that other people cannot access my texts, etc.
When I go to 'settings', 'security', and click on 'access codes', in order to set up a lock code,  the display says'change security code'.
When I ckick on it, I get a request for my security code.
Twice now I have keyed in'12345', which I take to be the default code.
Each time I get an error message and the second time it said that I have only one more chance to key in the correct code.
Perhaps the previous owner had a code, which I take to be the same as a security keyguard code.
When I go to 'device' in 'settings', it says that the security keyguard is off.
I can switch it on, but to activate it I again need to key in a code.
Am I corect in thinking that either someone has alrerady set up a code or the default code is not '12345'?
Also, What can I do to set up my own code?
Fianally, What if I use a pin code? Will that protect my privacy?
Do I have to get in touch with my network provider ( Tesco Mobile) in order to set it up?
I'd appreciate any help anyone can give,
    Laurence

If I used a  pin code instead, would it protect my privacy?
would it stop those without the code reading my texts and so on?
PIN Code is basically for the SIM card and not the phone. Talking of privacy, your phone will be fully explorable if the SIM card is removed, so PIN scenario is pretty wasteful. Majority of the phones only ask for the PIN code when the phone is started and register the SIM to the network only wen PIN is furnished.
If It does not work I could find that I have locked the phone, which could necessitate sending it to the Nokia Care centre.
This is where the online free service may come in. It claims that it can find the security mastercode for any individual phone, based on the IMEI number, which you access by keying in asterisk, hash, 06, hash, or by taking the back off the phone and looking inside.
Armed with the 10-digit mastercode you key it in and it unlocks the phone.
That, at least, is the claim, but on another mastercode site there's a warning that the mastercode works only for older models.
I have my mastercode, but I don't know whether to take the chance.
Does anyone have any views on this?.
    , Cheers, Laurence
Unfortunately, these type of Master Codes do not work. If ever they worked, the phones would become too easy to break in. As far as I can remember, I have not seen any person with a claim that one of those Master Codes worked for them. Maybe they worked for very very old 1st gen devices from Nokia, but not anymore. The security code is based on what user enters in the settings and there doesn't exist any master code to over-ride that. If it would, Nokia Care should be making use of that instead refurbishing/flashing the phones in every case that called for Keyguard Code.

  • Forgot lock code on find my iphone. I lost my phone a few weeks ago and when it seems that it can never be returned i login to my account and put a code using find my iphone

But after days since no one is returning it i tried putting passcode on lock mode... And who would have thought that after a week someone will call me and told me that she will return the phone. But unfortunately i forgot the lock code so i cant use it. I dont want to restore it since my photos and videos are not sync to my itunes. if only theres a way that it would only just require my apple id and not the 4 digit code

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

  • How can I disable the lock code on my N8

Does anyone know if I'm missing something obvious here or is this something which can't be disabled once it's switched on? I've done a soft reset back to factory settings with no luck and the only other thing I can think of is re installing the firmware which seems a bit extreme.
Would like to hope there is some way to have control over this. Can someone help?

Which firmware your N8 having now? You can check firmware by choosing Call, then type *#0000#.
My N8 works fine on security setting and able to define Phone auto lock period, by choosing Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone management>Security settings>Phone and SIM card>Phone auto lock period>User defined>Lock after(minutes)
You will prompt to enter Lock code each time u define auto lock priod or enable/disable auto lock.
    Hope this can help you.

My iPhone has crashed during a sync and now I can't restore from backup as it is asking for password to load the backup yet neither the lock code for the phone or my iTunes Password are working... I have no other password to call upon and need the restore to retrieve info onto my phone, I am a real novice to this...... please help, !!!!

If anyone else is looking for a solution to this same problem, I was able to get it working looking through several older discussions.
The solution was to use the password that I had on my iTunes account the very first time I set up the iPhone about a year ago.  I changed my iTunes password about 10 months ago;  but apparently, the backups continue to use the password that existed when the phone was first set up.
A couple of troubling things with this are that 1) I didn't apply a password when I did the backup this afternoon so I don't understand why it was required when I did the restore a few hours later. and 2) it makes zero sense why iTunes would not be smart enough to use the current accout password when requiring the password to restore from a backup made with no password.
I thought iTunes and Apple were smarter than that.  With so many posts stating exactly the same problem, it is clear that this is bug in the software.
    Best,
    Craig
