5900XT memory type?

Is the new 5900XT memory using 256-bit DDR??

Try doing a search on http://www.google.com for that card and see if anyone did a review on it...that should answer your questions...

    Hi,
Since new Xorg update, I can see the folowing message at /var/log/messages.log:

I don't know if it is relative but, from time to time, the screen and keyboard freezes and need to reboot. Another times, if I click, for example, over a xfce-terminal icon on panel (or whatever application), it opens two or three terminal windows instead of only one.
    Thanks in advance.

Afaik that is cause by PAT being enabled, append nopat to your kernel startup string

  • Not sure about memory type

Hi All - I have a Mac mini G4 1.5 Ghz processor. Currently have 512mb DDR SDRAM and would like to upgrade to 1GB. I went to the Crucial web site and they indicated a DDR PC2700 chip. When checking the memory type currently in my mac (512) it says it is a Type:DDR SDRAM Speed:PC3200U-30330. It sounds to me that the PC2700 is NOT a match to the PC3200U-30330?? - I'm not sure if I'm inerpreting it correctly. I've noticed in my searches that there doesn;t seem to be much info on the 1.5ghz machine. I'd just like some verification on the chip before I order. Any thoughts?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
PC2700 RAM is the correct type for all the G4 minis, including your 1.5 model. However, many minis were sold with PC3200 memory, which is also compatible, though the faster RAM doesn't improve system performance in any way since it's clocked back to match the system's bus speed - which is designed for the PC2700 spec.
    Thus you can use either.

  • 4200 PRO memory type?

    Hi.
I've just got hold of a 2nd hand sat 4200 pro laptop which still has the standard 64mb memory in it. I want to upgrade this but I am not sure what memory type it has. I've seen some 256MB PC133 SO-DIMM LAPTOP MEMORY for sale near me but I think the laptop may be PC100. Can I still get the PC133 and fit it or will it not work? I know I may not get full performance out of the ram but I'm not bothered about that s'long as it works.
    Thanks for your time.
    JB.

Thanks for that, but it was more on the memory speed I am concerned. I want to buy 128mb for the laptop but I can only get PC133 near me. Can I fit PC133 in this machine?
Also, are all laptop memory sticks the same? Apart from DDR and SDRAM of course. I mean, can I fit any SDRAM laptop chips?

  • Which of these 4 memory types for my rig

I swear, the more forums I read the more confused I am. I want to achieve 2.9-3.0 GHz as INEXPENSIVELY as possible I am planning on building with these specs:
    MSI 975x v.2
C2D E6400 Conroe now (Until the Kentsfield quad comes down)
    Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
    Ultra Xfinity 500
Radeon X850xt (untill DX10 cards get cheap)
Hitachi 80 GB SATA II & Maxtor 300GB SATA I
    Memory ?????? 2 GB xms2
    6400c5 5-5-5-12 T1 $202 (should that 12 be 15?)
    6400c4 4-4-4-12 $229
    6400c4d 4-4-4-12 $244
    6400pro 5-5-5-12 $255
these prices are with a $40 rebate and 20 dollar paypal promotion, so I have to buy the memory by the 5th.
the rumors about the Promos ICs scared the crap outa me since I don't know a whole lot.
This will be my first OC build. All I do is game.
    That took forever to type!
    Thanks!

I just had to return a twin pair of Corsair 1GB 800 C4Ds / regrettably as I did it before I started reading about how to tweak the memory and the 975X PUE MB.  The D stands for Dominator which affords a higher cooling potential.
I would be interested in knowing your success.
I have to decide which of them to reinstall in the next few days.
    Thanks  Keith

  • New Mac Mini Lion Server (mid 2011) and memory type

    Hi,
I found an unclear advice about memory upgrade.
    The manuals says
"Memory modules for your Mac mini must meet the following specifications:
-Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (SO-DIMM) format
    -1333 MHz, PC3-10600E, DDR3 compliant (also called DDR3 1333)
    -Unbuffered and unregistered"
I opened the box and found inside a Samsung chip labelled "... PC3-10600S-11-B2"
Is the PC3-10600E type the same as PC3-10600S?

    Now resolved.......  No further comment

  • Memory type/size

I would like to add more memory to my notebook PC but really don't know what size it will hold or the type to look for that will work in this unit . thanks

    Your system came with one 4Gig PC3 12800 / DDR3 1600 memory module installed.
    Product Specs
You can install an identical 4G module, HP Part# 691740-001 to double your memory.

Hi, above are the specs for my macbook pro...bought it in April 2008. Currently running OS 10.8.4
Found a good deal on some memory to upgrade to 6 or maybe 8gb of ram but not sure these ram sticks will work in my computer...I currently have 4gb or ram, two 2gb sticks of DDR2 Sdram 667MHz...not sure my computer can even handle 8gb.
here's the info on ram i found on sale for 33 euros each, but found conflicting info, seller says my computer must be macbookpro5.1 and mine is 4.1, but on some apple page i found earlier it just lists model from 2008 on and intel core 2 duo as compatible, so can i use this type of ram?...
    4 Go SODIMM DDR3 1066 MHz
thanks for any help in advance
    M

Your computer needs RAM as shown below.
Maximum Memory     6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)

  • N73 Memory Type

    Hi People
Got a bit confused here. My book with the phone says MiniSD card only for this phone. But when looking at the accessories on here it seems to indicate that a MicroSD will also do. The shop says MicroSD wont work!
Simple, can i use both types of memory in this phone or MiniSD only. I see some issues with size recognition in the threads on here so ill stick with one gig probably
    Thanks in advance.
    Greig

Dude, my N91 has 4 GB HDD.No expansion.Although the accesories part says it suppports mmc.
Great y will stick to one GB.
Me too think miniSD and micro sds have some differences and micro sd wont work on yr N73.

  • HP ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j000 Quad Edition Notebook PC - MEMORY TYPE

    Hello,
I ordered this PC with 8GB DDR3 System Memory (1 Dimm).  I want to purchase 1 more 8GB stick to max out the memory but I'm not sure what type to get?  I would have added it when I built it but for some reason it wouldn't allow me to since I selected the 24GB mSSD option.  This was the error message:
Selection caused conflict24GB Solid State Hard Drive Acceleration Cache requires purchase of 4GB, 6GB or 8GB System Memory. Update Memory or Hard Drive Acceleration Cache .
    Please help and thanks!

I guess the 24GB mSDD cache is used to store both windows 8 and the data from memory during sleep or hiberbnation for fast boot and instant on purpose. 16GB is used to store windows 8 and 8GB is used to store memory data. If memory is 16GB, the mSSD cache should be at least 32GB. If you upgrade mSSD to 32GB, it should be OK.

  • Activity Monitor - Column Heading Memory Types

I'm chasing a memory issue in my MBP, and am using Activity Monitor to try to figure it out. I've found explanations for "Wired", "Active", "Inactive", and "Free". Makes sense to me, no problemo.
Now comes the interesting part, trying to map processes to memory use. I've added all the available memory columns to Activity Monitor, but cannot find any correlation between the column headings and the memory reported in the bottom area/pie chart.
How do the Shared, Real, Private and Virtual Memory column headings map to the Wired, Active, Inactive and Free categories at the bottom?
There are plenty of explanations on what to be concerned about with the various pie chart categories. However, I'm trying to determine when an particular process is getting out of hand, and would like to understand what each of the column headings really mean, and in particular, how they map to the pie chart categories.

As Kappy says, the virtual memory information is mostly meaningless except to developers, and most of them do not really care.
In this case the Java VM usage is most likely a math error on the part of either the operating system, or Activity Monitor (when a 64-bit number goes negative, but is then displayed as an unsigned value, it can look like what you are seeing; ignore it).
What you ARE interested in is "Real Memory" usage, and who is using it.  Look at those numbers in Activity Monitor.
If you want to see if pageout activity is affecting your performance, then start Applicaitons -> Utilities -> Terminal and run the command "sar -g 60 100" which will report pageout numbers once a minute for 100 minutes (adjust the numbers to suit your tastes).   Mostly zero means no pages outs.  Occassional spikes generally occur when starting an app or switching to an app which has been idle for awhile.  Sustained pageouts starts to indicate a problem.  High sustained pageouts means you could benefit from either having more RAM or running fewer concurrent applications.
