Had the same issue. Tried everything that was posted for troubleshooting bye apple and on the discussions.
Finally, tried something that solved it and it works flawlessly now. I changed my wireless router.
I was using my ISP's supplied ZyXEL PN660 ADLS2+ with Wireless N. Swtiched to an older Linksys WRT160N and it is working beautifully now.
Take a look at your router, make sure the firmware is up to date, and that UPnP is enabled, and if all is correct, and you have done everything else, try another Wireless router if you can. -

That is correct. The iphone will sync with one and only one computer/library at a time. If you sync to another then it will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer/library.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use this to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You will also need to enter one unique contact and calendar entry in the computer . When you first sync, you should get the option to merge. Otherwise this data will be erased as well.
Much easier to use your backup copy to put everything back. -
I am using an iphone 5. Recently it malfunctioned and I was told by apple that my old back up had a corruption with it an caused my phone to malfunction. Apple had to redownload the operating system. I was also told that I can not use my old back on my phone I need to delete it and manually download everything. I DID NOT USE ICLOUD. However I do have my old back up still on my mac in itunes. I just want to access my notes so I can type them back into my notes on my fixed phone.you can restore from your backup again just to get the notes. once you've restored from the backup, copy your notes into your icloud notes group or email them to yourself - basically, get them somewhere else so they're not just locally stored on the device. once you've moved your notes elsewhere, restore the device as new again like apple had you do. this will again put a fresh version of the operating system on your phone like it has right now

I am installing itunes to a laptop and have not sync device to this lap. It is saying that it must first restore device. The problem is I have over 2000 pictures and don't want to lose them. Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.
Unfortunately... Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

Using a computer, other than the one you have regularily been Syncing and Backing up to, was the begining of your issue. -
Normally my phone would connect with my computer and replace all the songs on my phone with all the songs available in my library. Now it seems as if the songs on my phone are permanently there, and nothing from my iTunes library will sync. 1. Open iTunes.
2. Click the View option in the iTunes menu.
3. Select the Show Sidebar option.
Connect your phone, select it in the Sidebar...the various tabs will now show as before. -
I was trying to sync and update my phone with ITunes, about 5 minutes into the process everything stopped. Now the phone does not work, it will not turn on or off, the screen of the phone shows the Apple Logo and a straight line. ITunes seems to not "see" the phone. Suggestions??

iTunes will not let me backup and sync to new phone encrypted password?? I've never set a password for my old iPhone 3gs but tried my old Apple ID sign-in passwords to no avail. I've simply sat here so frustrated....my husband sync'd his new iPhone 4 no problem, somehow the checkbox shows Encrypted password and I'm at a loss on how to change this/find the password and transfer my old backup onto my new phone so I can use it. I have the same problem. Right now my iPhone 5S shows 3 instances of the computer to which it is connected under Settings » General » iTunes WiFi Sync. I'm having problems connecting and syncing, and this is probably the cause: the phone chooses one of these connections, and it isn't the one that's actually in use. What's probably happening is that the phone and computer establish a connection using a dynamic IP address, the address becomes "disassociated" due to error, another address is associated, the phone retains each address/link, and each link is displayed as if it represents a separate computer (the fact that the name of the computer is identical is ignored, as the only thing that is considered important is the IP address). But that's all conjecture. More important, I'm not sure how to fix the problem. A network reset doesn't do it.

Sounds like your sharing the same apple id. settings - message - send&receive - make sure the cell number is the default for both phones.

Has anyone been able to sync new i-phone with a 2004 Volvo XC 90 with dealer installed bluetooth. New software download says it is now discoverable but pairing failed.
Is "NILESH" the name of your computer or perhaps the name of your iPhone? What are you trying to achieve by connecting your iPhone to your PC via Bluetooth?
Only certain Bluetooth profiles are supported by the iPhone, the list of supported profiles is listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
If you are attempting to use another profile then an unsupported message is to be expected.
