5d mk2 + CS4 Premier PRo + MAC - HELP!

I've been trying to find an answer to how I can edit my 5d MK II files on CS4 PP for mac. Most answers relate to windows machines and other answers just state that getting a mac with FCP is the answer. I can edit my full 1080p files in iMovie. So far everything i've tried on PP CS4 has resulted in VERY choppy footage which is uneditable. I downloaded the trial version to give Aobe a chance. I already own the Photoshop cs3 and Lightroom 2.2 and would not mind the discount in the upgrade package. But if its not gonna work , FCP is my future. Anyone out there tried thi and liked Premier better than FCP?
Transcoding to lower quality and working with proxies sounds like a hell of a lot of work if i could just spend a few hundred buck more and get FCP?

From reports I've read, the difference in quality when rendered to MPEG2 is indiscernible, and you can closely match the original file spec (1920 x 1080 @ 30p, 38 MB/s). I don't believe that is possible with P2 export. Another option is to create proxy files for editing then replace with source clips when ready for export (explained here: http://www.vimeo.com/2641870).

I imported several M2T files into CS4 Premier Pro on Mac OSX Snow Leopard, the files import just fine and when I double click on them, I see the video in the preview panel. However when I hit play, nothing happens. It does not play, just sits on the first frame. Even when I drop it into the timeline, same thing happens. Does not play but if I export what I put into the timeline, the video exported is fine. So I can't edit it, because I cant see where to put edit points. I really need help, need to get this project done asap.

Premier Pro (Mac) weirdness!

So I finally gave in to the Mac's are best arguement and have just installed Premier Pro CC on my shiny new MacBook... and it's all going wrong. Quite apart from the trauma of trying to use a Mac after using PCs since the days when they ALL said IBM on the front, Premier is doing some weird things. All help appreciated!
Weirdness number 1 - My control buttons don't work. They highlight on mouseover but on clicking do nothing. Marking in points, selecting play in the preview window, adding markers, etc. requires me to use keyboard shortcuts. I can select files, scrub the timelines, everything except get a response from the buttons. Any ideas?
Weirdness number 2 - My favourite transitions are missing. I see from another forum post that this is because Adobe just happen to provide different transitions for Mav and PC versions. Why? This is not logical Captain Kirk. Does anyone know a workaround. I'm browsing the web for plugins but would welcome any suggestions... I particularly need a spin in and a tumble away (in the 3d effcts section on a PC)
That's actually it for weirdness, sorry if you were hoping for ectoplasm and moving furniture. Everything else is working okay. I can't get my Contour ShuttlePro to work but these things happen and I think I prefer the CTRL+ Console App on my iPad.

Colour correction for H.264/YouTube export from premier pro cc, help.

Hi, I am just finishing up a project that I put together in Premier Pro CC and SpeedGrade. I did a little test export, as it's for YouTube I used H.264. On looking at it afterwards it looked washed out with the blacks losing there depth, the saturation dropping and a loss of contrast. I tried checking on a few monitors and then tried uploading a piece to YouTube and it looks the same across the monitors and the same on YouTube this washed out drab change. So I tried reimporting the export back into Premier Pro and it looks fine in Premier Pro and SpeedGrade. I can go back and push my blacks and whites but it'll have to beyond 0 and 100 to get my contrast back and it feels wrong using the scopes like this. Dose anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Yes that's how I'm working. In Premier Pro CC and using the direct link to SpeedGrade then back to Premier Pro and exporting from there. I'm not sure you even can export from SG if you use the direct link from PP. I'm unsure now if it's the H.264 to blame, I tried a few other's and they also look washed out. At present I'm having to go over my old grade, that took days, adding more contrast and saturation seeing if I can get an acceptable image when I export.
I have tried AVI uncompressed, a few flavours of H.264 including some of the pre set ones like the YouTube ones and some image sequence's. The JPEG sequence was fine, same colours and contrast as within Adobe but all the H.264 and the AVI were washed out no matter what setting I put them on.
In the picture below you can see from the left first a waveform then the image in SpeedGrade with the scopes showing the blacks well below 0, next the same image back in PremierPro, then the exported H.246 file.

Can anyone help me with the maze? I cant seem to get to the CS4 Photoshop downloads online. My new Mac Pro Retina has no CD so I cant re install from that.

CS4 Premier Pro Dynamic Link to Encore Question

I have DL'ed (Dynamic Linked) a project in PP CS4 to Encore CS4 and it worked just fine except that in the sequence in PP CS4 I edited some of the audio tracks with render and replace using Sooundbooth CS4. The audio effects I added in Soundbooth CS4 played back as encoded in PP CS4 on the time line but not in the final product from Encore.
What would have caused this? Can added effects in Soundbooth be DL to Encore CS4 or do I have to render out in PP CS4 then pull the assets to Encore?

I don't believe that any of the effects I wanted to apply in SB were
actually applied but there are other cuts and edits I would not want to
loose by re-applying the clips to the timeline. Are you saying that the
edits would remain in tact and that theoriginal video and audio with
edits would be replace? Also, you should know that some of the final SB
effects that I added (which were not added to the audio clips) contained
other SB effects that were retain and had to do with filtering noise and
very lager gain adjustments which I would NOT want to loose just to
recover the more subtle effects lost in the last SB effects I wanted to add.
So my concerning is replacing what is on the time line now with raw
files in the project panel.
Does that help in explaining my concerns?

Premier Pro CS4 will NOT EXPORT

I have just installed the CS4 Premier Pro and have a really strange problem.
When I select File/Export/Media the dialogue Box comes up asking for my format preferences, location of saved file etc but when I hit OK a very brief small dialogue box comes up "Exporting Data".
But no file is exported.
Whats happening?

Premier Pro and Canon XF 100 camera

I need help understanding how upgrading to Premier Pro will help me more easily use the clips from my Canon XF100 video camera. I now have to open the clips with the Canon Utility that comes with the camera, covert the files to MFX files, I then use Aiseesoft ware to convert the files into some form of MPEG 4. I can them import the clips into Adobe Premier Elements 11 (very inexpensive software) so that I can edit. Once the project is ready for publishing -- after working with Adobe techs, I found I had to publish the work into a Quicktime file when I then had to convert using Format Factory into a MPEG4 file that could be read by our television cable access program. Very complicated and time consuming. I need to understand what Premier Pro will open and what it will publish to@

In Premiere Pro all you have to do is copy the card to your hard drive and ingest via the Media Browser (part of Premiere).
No converting needed.
You can export to nearly every format after editing.
I own a XF100 and very pleased with it.

Cannot Load CS5.5 Projects Into Premier PRo Cs6 when they contain MTS files

I recently installed My Upgraded Version of CS6 from Disks Sent by Adobe. After doing so, i can no longer see CANON MTS files, they open as Offline Media and it also cann not be replaced or re-imported into the Project. In CS5.5 they still open normally. I even imported correctly into After Effects CS6, adn they were viewable. Premier Pro Twitter help Says Solution maybe to start fresh with a new project?? This isnt REALLY a viable option since i have a TON of CS5.5 Projects that contain Canon MTS Files. So if there are any other suggestions i am ALL EARS!!!!

thansk i did find the solution, i actually thought i was in the Premier Forum. incase any one finds this, Cs 5.5 With MTS files in the project did not initially Load IN CS6. i had to add another Sequence Set to AVCHD in the Sequence presets, then Re-link the MTS files per folder and all files showed up, i hope that helps any one looking for this answer

Please help: Premier pro CS4 crash on loading.

Premier pro CS4 crashes whilst loading. Cannot access the programme at all.
Downloaded the latest patch, hasn't solved anything.
Have tried rebooting. Premier is from the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium.
Computer spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo.
2 GB RAM
Running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition.
Version 2002, service pack 3.
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS. Latest drivers installed.
No partitioned disks.

I've killed all the processes you have told me too.
I've taken off the side of my PC and run a fan to hopefully help cool it down - With increasing airflow, I think I probably need a bigger case and more fans, this PC is a mixture of hardware from 3 that have been cannibalised. (Hence why the power supply isn't very good)
I'm sorry I'm not very computer literate, and I'm a student desperately trying to do her work. My PC isn't a notebook, its a desktop PC.
I'm not sure if there are any settings in the BIOS to help increase fan speed?
I'm really sorry, but what is a SATA drive?

Hi, I am looking to use my copy of Premier Pro C4. My iMac 3.0g GHz Intel duo core is running OS 10.5.8.
I get the message that Premier is not compatible with this architecture! I want and need to use Premier. What to do?

Premier Pro CS4 cumbersome on Mac.

Problem # 1: So my timeline has a 2 minute edit beyond the point I want to highlight. Select the track select tool, shift+click, spinning beach ball, wait for aproximately 10+ seconds before the tracks are highlighted.
Problem # 2: Even tho all you need to do you're editing from the source montionr or timeline monitor is a preview quality view, I still like my previews sharp. As if DV quality isn't bad enough, it has to be degraded even more. To get a propper view I have to resort to the Tv set connected to my deck(even tho this is the recommended way to view, I still want a better image in Premier).
Problem # 3: Actual preview is 1 to 3 frames ahead when previewing in the source monitor or timeline viewer. I have to constantly adjust my clips 1 to 3 frames back when I edit. I edit kinda fast so I set my ins and outs by ear in the source monitor(this method works almost flawlessly in FCP), and when I lay it to the time line, the in points are normally cut off by 1-3 frames and the end points extended by 1-3 frames. It happens on the Mac, and it happened to Premier Pro CS3(on a 4core well recommended pc) and Premier Pro 2(on a dual core reccomended pc....at the time of Premier 2 at least)
These 3 pluss a cupple of other performance issues. Pluss my grudge with not being able to export refference movies. >.> that one's just a grudge.
I'm not sure if anyone knows how to solve these issues, I'm not sure if anyone else has these issues, but you're input is highly welcomed...... especially if it's an answer to my problems. ^_^

I got multiple externals but the one I'm currently using is a LaCie Big Disk Quadra. The timeline thing I find strange. It increases the more I have on the timeline. Another strange thing is that installing the Production Premium for the first time used to crash the system. And now on random occasions when I'd reinstall one of the apps, it'll give me the grey screen telling me the system has crashed and needs to restart.
