5D3 Feature Request: Copy images between cards

Hey,
I don't know if i've overseen something, but in recording settings, you can change, where images should be stored (1 card, both cards at the same time etc.).
But it doesn't seem to be possible to copy or move images between the two memory cards. That's not good, because when you forgot to set up recording settings beforehand, you will need a laptop and a card reader to fix your mistake. It's really annoying if you have a buggy card and you want to backup your files to another one. Murphy's law then occours: It happens, when you don't have a laptop with you
So would it be possible to add a feature in a future firmware, that enables the camera to copy single/all files from one card to another?

As mentioned above by Mike921 you CAN copy and move files between cards, the option is in the blue tab.

  • Feature Request: TGA image previews in Creative Cloud Files

Feature Request: TGA image previews in Creative Cloud Files (app & web) when browsing files in web and iOS App

On a related topic, here's another Illustrator file with fonts displaying incorrectly, but this time it also has problems with the download links - the options for PNG, JPG and PDF do not appear at all.
    https://creative.adobe.com/file/2d6d788d-01e4-488d-90b8-46823f2017e2
This is all very strange, because they did appear in a previous version of this very same file:

Could it perhaps be related to the strange font behaviour?

  • Feature Request "Copy of column-name" in 2.1.1 not working

Scanning all the feature requests added to 2.1.1, i came across to the following one:
    Title: Copy of column-name
    Description:
after getting the query result it would be greate if we can mark the column-name and the copy the name of the column to the clipboard for further use (e.g. select colum_name from table ...)
    Comment:
Try 2.1.1. You can drag a selection of columns to the worksheet. If not, then please provide more detail in future request.
    Status: In Release 2.1.1 ;
Now i've tried few times to drag the column from the query result into the worksheet but it doesn't work. The only thing which works is to change the columns orders in the grid result.
    Anybody experience the same result?
    Dani

    @Raghu
I'm already aware of this and it's working but the downside is that it copies the cell value too which i don't see the point.
If i want the cell values than i can export or copy them.
The request description was different though.
    @K
Unfortunately you can't drag the column name from the navigator or result grid. Would be nice if it would.
Is anything else i can do to get this fix or are you gonna raise a CQ for this?

  • How to copy images between folders?

    Hi,
Overall, I really like Lightroom, but there's one thing that's bugging me to no end. I work with a lot images, where I need real physical copies of an image on several locations on the disk (workflow reasons, automatic backup, publishing etc).
It's a very common and recurring task I perform, so I just want to be able to do it with drag-and-drop. As of now, I either have to export the images or do multiple imports of the same files to overcome this obstacle, which is extremely tedious.
I have tried every imaginable way to perform this extremely simple and, to me, vital function in a DAM tool, and I just can't find how to do it.
In any other application, and even the sub-par Finder on a Mac, it's just to hold down the Alt key when dragging an image to another folder, and automatically a true copy is being created.
I even tried the beta of Lightroom 2, and this still isn't in there!
Please, tell me I'm missing something obvious, or is it really true that this feature doesn't exist in Lightroom?
I'm using Lightroom 1.4.1 in Mac OS X.
    Best regards,
    Robert Nyman

    p6889k,
To copy them out, you simply drag and drop them to your desired destination, which will copy them there.
    Rob Sylvan,
Yes, exporting originals is an option, but a bit overkill and annoying to use, since drag-and-copy is by far the easiest way.
    > Lightroom is not a file browser
I just can't see why it can't act as a file browser as well as its other features? Meaning, if exporting to another folder works (and in version 2 it even has the option "Add the Exported Photo to the Lightroom Catalog"), why not support drag-and-copy?
I think refusing to implement this feature by Adobe, even though A LOT of people has been asking for it online, is just narrow-minded.
As a software distributor, you have two options:
    1. Adapt your software to the end user's needs and wants.
    2. Try and force your end users to learn how the application vendor wants the program to be used, instead of implementing what people want.
History has shown that option 2 is always failing in the long run.
Therefore, Adobe, PLEASE, make sure it's possible to copy files in Lightroom for those of us who wants it.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Canon 5D3 Feature Request / Wish -- Manual exposure auto shutter speed toggle

I've been using Canon gear the last six years & I don't know if this is currently possible in any camera body. If not, I believe it would prove highly helpful for working professionals.
When working in time-sensitive situations, I find myself frequently forced to use Av mode when I would prefer to remain in Manual exposure. Additionally, I find myself slowed down within Manual exposure mode when moving between inddor and outdoor light and/or other situations of dramatic ambient light fluctuation.
My wish would be for a menu assignment function for the "multi-function" button (next to the shutter release). Pressing the button while in M exposure mode would then set the shutter speed (like in Av mode--and another option could emulate Tv mode), and releasing the button would resume normal M exposure mode usage.
Personally, this is my biggest wish for the 5D3, and I would LOVE to see it implemented. (My second wish would be for the flash exposure lock to set the exposure of Flashes which are otherwise set to manual flash exposure, but that's another story).
    Thanks,
    Bert

    Nope. That's a 1D X feature.

  • Feature Request: Photo Borders and Copying in Books

These are a few related feature requests. If anyone knows of a better way to do this with the current software, then I would love to hear it.
When making books I like to have borders around the pictures of various colors (usually black or white) and various widths. In Apeture this is a pain to do. I fiqured out that I could fake it by making a picture box and inserting a solid black picture into it and then creating a smaller picture box in front of it for my real photo. This might be tolerable if I could at least then select both picture boxes and their contents to copy and then onto other pages as a template that I can resize as needed.
Ideally I would love to be able to copy and paste multiple elements on a book page and I would like to be able to define photo borders. Any chance of seeing this in the near future?
    Thanks,
    Sean

Thanks for the reply. You are right, the cut and paste works fine, it just didn't work the way I expected it to. Maybe that is a GUI design thing to consider. I was actually trying to click and drag a selection box like you might do in iPhoto to select multiple images that are right beside each other. This doesn't work at all in Aperture, but your method does work just fine.
I agree with the other poster that some additional features like:
    Photo Borders
    Export to PSD (with layers)
Custom page sizes and Custom themes
would be very nice and start to make that tool truley useful.
Thanks for a really nice product. Keep up the good work and stay ahead of the pack.
    Sean

  • Posting Feature Requests for others to Copy/Paste

I recently posted a Feature Request I sent to Adobe for another member to copy/paste as his own FR since he liked the suggestion (see the FR below).
After doing so, I got the idea that we could all do this: copy/paste FRs we send to Adobe into threads on this forum to help each other support the idea with similar requests, or even copy/paste the FR as our own.  With limited resources and time, there's only so many requests Adobe can implement in every new version.   That why it's so important that new features the Premiere Pro team invests their hard work and time on be the tools that would benefit the greatest number of editors.  The more people back up certain ideas, the more likely they'll be implemented sooner than later.
There's power in numbers, so how about using this forum to share our best ideas and make it easier for others to add their voice of support?  It's great that Adobe provides us with a way to send them feedback, but it's too bad that it's a one-way conversation with very little, if any, dialogue back and forth between the submitter and Adobe.  That's why I thought it would be great to bring more of that potential dialogue here, where we can share ideas and support the creation of an ever better Premiere Pro!
If you've never posted a FR or BR (Bug Report) before, you can easily join the effort to make Premiere Pro become all that it can be, here: www.adobe.com/go/wish
    Comments?  Ideas?  Please share!
Here's the FR I pasted in another thread, as an example.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:  Drag&Drop Modified clips into Project Window
How would you like the feature to work?
Ability to Drag&Drop clips with effects, motion settings, keyframes and/or markers back into the Project Window from the Timeline for later use.
Why is this feature important to you?
The Project Window is far better than Sequences for storing/organizing modified clips for future use, since it is:
    Searchable
    Sortable
Viewable in Icon and List views
Full of helpful metadata columns such as 'Video/Audio Usage'
Foolproof in that the original sequence can be deleted without losing any created subclips
Given these advantages, why only allow us to store modified clips in Sequences? Please fix this by allowing users to Drag&Drop clips from the Timeline to the Project Window while preserving all of their modifications (effects, keyframes, motion settings and/or markers).

    Comments?  Ideas?  Please share!
As it has already been discussed in this thread (and duplicated threads are not allowed in Adobe Forums), the aforementioned feature request is mainly based on the false statement that an editor can either store raw clips in the Project panel or modified clip in the timeline. That's false because an editor can nest modified clip right in the timeline and the nested sequence will be automatically stored in the Project panel, turning into a regular reusable asset.
Unfortunately, the OP, as was also outlined in the duplicated thread, carefully avoids any mentioning this ability, which becomes your second nature if you use After Effects (which is unlike FCP is a part of Adobe Suite).
However, since the OP asks for sharing ideas, I do not hesitate to do this once again. Here is the feature request intended to improve the usability of such PrPro assets as 'Sequences' without breaking existing workflow:
    *******Managing Sequences*******
It would be nice if managing capabilities for such assets as 'Sequences' were extended with the following features:
    - similar live thumbnail view, which was introduced for footages in CS6. A small 'Sequence' badge in the top left corner of the thumbnail would allow to differentiate between sequences and clips;
    - enabled metadata and ability to handle them like for any other regular asset;
    - ability to remove empty audio or video tracks completely, i.e. get a sequence as an Audio or Video asset only;
    - pop-up dialog box on hitting 'Nest' command, which would allow to give meaning name instead of default 'Nested Sequence XXX', contain 'Delete All Empty Tracks' checkbox and a button for advanced dialog for logging metadata right on a brand new asset creation.
These features would improve an ability to exploit sequences as reusable assets and preserve consistent applications behaviour throughout the Suite instead of breaking existing workflow by inventing new FCP style 'subclip with effects' type of asset. See this discussion in PrPro Forum for some more details:

  • Copy and paste feature request

    Please God... uh, Mr. Jobs,
When in text edit mode and while viewing web pages etc., please add a button with a clipboard icon that switches into a text select mode that allows you to drag over text to select as well as double and triple tap sentances and paragraphs. Then we'll be able to select either a copy, cut or paste button.
This phone is a great tool. However, without the ability to copy text from anywhere it is very limited as a creative writing, blogging and research tool.
Hope to see it implemented soon.
    Thanks
Does, anyone have a link for feature request submissions specific to iPhone?

I'd love cut & paste too. Otherwise how do you maintain/organize/re-organize lists on it easily...errands, tasks, to-dos, shopping lists, etc.
You can ask Apple for iPhone changes via this link:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Though if you're requesting hardware changes for iPhone v2 you may want to wait a week (or a month?)...they're probably going to be inundated right now by requests for software changes to the current iPhone.
(If this has answered your question, please mark your original post as answered)

  • Feature Request: Please allow us to merge audio with image sequence in AME.

So far the only programs that allow this (that I'm aware of anyway) are the old version of QuickTime Pro, and Apple's Compressor. I simply want to add an image sequence to AME, and combine an audio track to that image sequence for export. This would save me an extra step. 80% of my work begins and ends in After Effects. I do very little video editing, so most of my exports are rendered from AE and then exported from Quicktime or Compressor to whatever file my clients request (Most often ProRes for a master version, and h264 or x264 Quicktime files for the web).
Is it possible we might see this feature added anytime soon? Thanks!

This is a good feature request and should be submitted here: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
The team reviews all the requests that come in through that form. It is a guaranteed way to get your request seen while we do not always see everything that gets posted to the forums.

  • Feature Request - If a Save to PSD fails because of image size, offer to Save to PSB

Feature request — If a save to a PSD aborts when the file size grows beyond 2 GB, offer to save the file as a PSB instead of just displaying an error message and quitting.  Better yet, if the image is to big to begin with, make the offer before starting the save operation.  Similarly, if an image is too large to save to TIFF, offer to save it as a PSD or PSB.
When you’re working on large files, it would be nice not to have to redo a Save as a Save As to PSB after several minutes delay.
BTW, I tried without success to post this at the feedback site.  Once again, a dialog opened asking for a verification code that would be sent to me by e-mail, which in past attempts has never arrived.

Not a bad idea, though really what would be even better is if other 3rd parties would embrace the PSB format so we could just use PSB for everything and leave PSD behind.  There's almost no difference in size.  Here's the same file saved in both formats:
    C:\TEMP>dir egb.ps*
    Volume in drive C is C - NoelC4 SSD
    Volume Serial Number is 00ED-C11E
    Directory of C:\TEMP
    06/30/2012  01:04 PM         1,411,420 EGB.psb
    06/30/2012  12:14 AM         1,397,248 EGB.psd
In my case, I don't send PSDs to anyone, they just represent archives of my master work, and I will always have a modern version of Photoshop to read them with.  So if I could I would just use PSB for all master files.  Problem is, two 3rd party tools I like to use don't currently handle it:
    IrfanView
    FastPictureViewer Codec Pack
Probably some day in the future they'll work.  I encourage you to write to the people whose tools you'd like to see be able to read PSB to implement support.

  • How to copy addresses (not email) between cards in Address Book?

I can not copy and paste postal addresses between cards in Address Book. I select the address in one card, Copy, and when I select another card the Paste option is grayed out. Copying postal addresses line by line between cards is quite tedious. Is there a better method?

While I can't offer a solution I can offer some commiseration. I have been trying to do the same thing and am stumped by both Address Books numerous deficiencies and the forums silence.

  • Feature Request: Ultrabeat: Load Sample auto copy file name to Drum Voice

Feature Request: Ultrabeat: Load Sample auto copy file name to Drum Voice
I wish that when I load a sample into a drum voice, that it would automatically copy the name of the sound file I'm importing to the drum voice minus the extension. If I were importing BD01.wav I'd like for the drum voice to display BD01. As it is, I have to import the file, then name or rename the drum voice to BD01. When importing large quntities, this becomes a giant pain, and I'm looking for anything programmatic that could save me a load of time. When I think of all the time I'm going to waste...and if you multiply that by all the number of users...that's a lot of wasted time.
I wish of course that the program could suck up and autoload all of the sound files within a directory, names too, until the voices were full. Then I could just fine tune and kick out ones I don't want or want in different order. Not a big deal for users who are importing from all kinds of different sources, but say for impoting libraries like NI's Battery, it's a big deal.
Maybe these could be choices in the load sample menu.

Microsoft pulled the plug on DirectSound HAL in Vista due to lack of hardware support. The SAL exists for
software compatibility, good intention but bad performance as there is no longer a direct path from
    DirectSound to audio drivers.
People choose DirectSound for its Direct-ness
but there is no reason to choose it now.
    DirectX SDK was integrated
with WIndows SDK which ships with Visual Studio 2012 so you don't need additional downloads for
    WASAPI and XAudio 2.
Just look up the documentation for headers/librarieslike every other Windows API you use. If you have a hard time to find the documentation then you need to go to search engines and find search engine tutorials.
There are plenty of samples for both WASAPI and XAudio 2, both in the Windows SDK and online. The DirectX team has some suggestions on which to use on their team blog.
You can find experts for those APIs at the Windows Desktop Pro-Audio Application Development forum and the
Audio/XACT forum on MSDN (link left out for you to practice your search skills). Again, it is fine to ask for hints but don't ask the whole
solution. You are competing with others who just need a hint to finish work here. The time spent on working on your assignment would be better spent on helping on giving hints to others.

One of the things that slows me down the most when editing in FCPX is the ability to connect a clip and have it go where I want it vertically in the timeline (above or below other connected clips in the timeline). It would be GREAT to be able to just hover the mouse pointer in the space in between two clips in the timeline and then hit a shortcut key (similar to Q) a "Connect Between Clips" shortcut key to connect a clip and have it go into that space.
If you feel this feature request would benefit you as well please submit a feature request to Apple.

  • Is there a way to include images in a feature request to apple?

I often feel that that best way to convey my feature request is with an image showing an example of the request.
Does anyone know of a way to include images along with your feature request?

No, but I suppose you could always upload the images elsewhere and link to them.
