5g ipod touch going insane

Hi, I have a 5g ipod touch, 32gb. It works fine everyday but the momment I try to use it while charging, it goes insane. If I were to try to type something, it won't type or it puts in random letters. On Safari, it opens up new pages. It plays my music at random, ect. I have attempted to shut it off and turn it back on, didn't do anything. Can you please tell me what I should do in order to fix it? Thank you.

Please don't use the bolded super-sized font.  It's very annoying.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

You're apparently in the hairy edge of ambient light being just barely dark enough to justify dimming the screen.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>FaceTime and sign out and then sign back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • My 4th generation Ipod touch goes shows that it is charging when it is completely dead, but as soon as it stars up it ceases to charge

My 4th generation Ipod touch shows that it is charging when it is plugged in and completely dead, but as soon as it goes past the apple screen it ceases to charge! What can i do to get it to charge?

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod Touch Goes from 100% Charge to 20% within minutes

My iPod Touch is a little over two years old.  It is now going from 100% battery charge to 20% within minutes of usage.  However, when I plug it in to charge, the battery shows that it almost fully charged.  Yet when I unplug it, it will immediately say the battery is at 20% again.  Is the battery at it's end, or is this a different kind of issue causing the problem?

First try to reset your iPod and if that does not work, try restoring it to a backup and finally to factory settings.  If that does not solve the problem, your battery is probably a goner.  Two years is short, but not unusual; my battery failed after a little less than two years.  Apple will replace your iPod with a refurbished one for $79 (USA) or you could do a Google search on "replace iPod battery" for a local or on line repair place that will replace the battery for less. You can even find a replacement battery (same search) and install it yourself if you're up to it.

  • IPod Touch goes off during reset/restore HELP!

My daughter iPod Touch is having issues. We've had to restore it once, and reload all the music, apps, etc. It was working fine then all of a sudden it is not working again. When we turn it on the Apple icon appears then it shows connect to iTunes, I plug it up to my computer and the software comes up saying it has detected an iPod that is in recovery mode, you must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. We go thru the restore/update process following the instructions it seems to be working fine then the screen on the iPod blinks off then comes back with the Apple icon. The computer screen then says "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9). I googled the error message and the explaination was that it lost connection thru the USB so I tried plugging it in every USB port I have available and it still isn't working. Has anyone experienced the iPod just blinking on and off like this, could it be a bad cord?

I do not know what you mean by "convert all the music that is on there to itunes". You can place/identify music on the computer and it may automatically find music on your computer. However, since it is a different computer, connecting the iPod to a different computer will result in the contents on the iPod being erased and replaced with that in the iTunes library the new computer. But yo have nothing really to lose.

  • Is the ipod touch going to be 3g

is the ipod touch evergoing to be 3g

    To quote from Wikipedia:
3G stands for 3rd Generation. It is a term used to represent the 3rd generation of mobile telecommunications technology. This is a set of standards used for mobile devices and mobile telecommunication services and networks that comply with the International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) specifications by the International Telecommunication Union.[1] 3Gfinds application in wireless voice telephony, mobile Internet access, Fixed Wireless Internet access, video calls and mobile TV.
In other words, it would have to be a phone.

  • When is the ipod touch going to have a radio built into it, like the new ipod nano

I was wondering when the ipod touch will come out and have radio inbuilt into it like the new ipod nano. I used to have an ipod touch, lost it and got the nano and one of the best things about the nano was the FM radio! So I decided that I wouldn't buy an ipod touch until it had a radio because I listen to the radio more than my music... So I wanted to know how lond I would have to wait.

  • IPod Touch goes to sleep and shut's off at random

    Hey,
When I use the sleep/wake button the iPod responds normally by either going to sleep or awaking from it. But then when I use my iPod (Music, safari, apps) it goes back to sleep again even if I didn't touch the sleep button.
And sometimes about a minute after I used the button it asks me to turn off the iPod.
It doesn't allways hang, but it occures mostly all the time.
And sometimes it also turns to sleep mode when I press with my finger on the top of the screen (not the touchscreen but above it).
I think the sleep button hangs but I can still use it to set the iPod into sleep mode and to shut it down.
Does anyone know how I can solve this??

The same thing is happening to me. And well, my Touch is brand new! Maybe about 4 hours after using it (sleeping it and such) I left it to do some stuff only to return and found my Touch to be frozen on a White Screen.
I restarted it and it was fine. Then at night I updated it to the 2.02 software. I would leave it for about 10 minutes and it would either A) had shut down and need to be turned on again or B) freeze on the apple start up logo or a wonky looking logo for 10 seconds and then start.
This is extremely frustrating as it's completely brand new... like 12 hours new and I've restored and cleared the iPod like 4 times already trying to make it go away. But it hasn't at all both pre or post upgrading the software.

  • Cannot get iPod touch going with Vista Ultimate

iTunes gives me a message that the iPhone only works with 32 bit versions of XP or Vista. I have Vista Ultimate on my laptop, which is 32 bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I cannot get this thing going....

Well what does the system panel say under the control panel? Should tell you on label "System Type"
64-Bit is not supported. Not sure why since iTunes knows the iPod is there. iTunes thinks its a iPhone instead though.
