5G iPod with Apple iPod Camera Connector

Does Apple iPod Camera Connector able to download the movies (in .MPG format) which capture from my Sony camera to 5G iPod? If not, any suggestion?

I believe the Connector works only for stills.
Anyway, Sony is one of the more un-Mac-friendly companies out there, so I would not expect much from them.
As for suggestions, I believe it is more a question of what is supported by your camera.
Good luck

  • Apple iPad Camera Connector query

for starters i have a Sony Digital Still Camera so the Apple card reader wont be any good for that.
Although i do have a perfectly good USB Card reader that can cope with every memory card that was ever made, so copying from Sony Memory Card to SD card isnt a problem.
However my question is this :- if i can put my photos for the iPad2 into my PC iTunes Program why do i need the Apple iPad Camera Connector ?.
On the other hand, wouldn't it sometimes be easier/quicker to put MUSIC onto a SD Memory Card (instead of into iTunes), so why cant i transfer Music to the iPad2 using this Memory Card reader, or perhaps i can but it isnt documented ?.
Does this Memory card reader fit onto iPad1 as well ?.
i think i will have to give it a rest asking all these questions, and perhaps patiently wait until we actually have one of these iPad2 gadgets in our grubby little hands.

    Hey Tim
Yep the cam connector is really only for transferring photos. To be honest I wouldn't spend money on this UNTIL you find a real need. If you are just a casual photographer then you will find it just as easy to store photos on your cameras storage card until you get back home, and then transfer them to your iPad via iTunes. Some more serious or professional photographers want to back up photos via iPad before they get home in case of loss etc. Or to display to clients.
Don't worry about asking lots of questions - the better prepared you are the more you will enjoy your iPad, plus it adds to the excitement
PS the kit does have a few extra uses that might just interest you if it's your thing

  • Can I view photos imported to iPod using Apple iPod Camera Connector

    Hi,
I have an iPod photo and iPod video.
I also have the Belkin Digital Camera Link that I use to downloand photos from my Digital Camera to my iPod whilst away from my computer.
When photos are imported onto the iPod using the Belkin device I can't view the photos on the iPod.
Is this the same case with the Apple Camera Connector?
It would be worth buying if it meant the photos were instantly viewable on the iPod.
    Many Thanks.

How did the photos get on the iPod? If they were synced from another computer you need a third-party program like PhoneView or TouchCopy.

  • Ipod color + mediareader or camera connector

    Hi all,
First i have the media reader to sync photo's from CF card to the ipod.
Now i think that is pretty slow. So i bought the camera connector. I was told that it would be much faster (usb 2.0). I have the Minolta Dynax 7D DLSR wich is on the compatibilty list. Now the local apple store told me that is because of my camera. Why is the camera listed on the compatibilty list while it is not 100% compatible?
The camera connector is much slower that the media reader. I have tried both settings, USB and PTP.
It takes about half an hour to transfer a 1gb CF content. I mean... i guess 30sec at least per photo (raw+jpg) while on the pc it transfers with 2.2mb per second (8sec per photo).
    regards
    Edgar

    really nobody knows?

  • Registering my iPod with apple.

I bought my iPod from a store called Microcenter. I didn't buy a specific warranty there. It was a certified iPod store or what ever I don't know what to call it. But is there a way to register it with Apple so if it breaks or something they can send a new one?

    Hi,
the store you bought the iPod at is responsible to handle warranty replacement and repair - at least that holds true in most countries. If you ever need anyone else doing the repair or replacement while the iPod is still under warranty, usually any certified Apple dealer will help you as long as you can produce the original invoice.

  • 3rd generation iPod with Apple Universal Dock?

I have a 3rd generation iPod, the one with touch buttons (not touch screen). The new Apple Universal Dock will run with that iPod model? I know that I won't be able to see videos on a TV because my iPod doesn't play video, but should I'll be able to charge it and sync it with the computer and connect it to the hifi stereo? The Apple Remote could run as well?

I don't see why it wouldn't, unless its for some reason imcompatible with FireWire.
The Apple Store doesn't list it on the compatible iPods list, but I believe that is for 2 reasons: 1) They want you to buy a new, video-capable iPod and 2) It doesn't come with a dock adaptor designed to fit the 3rd gen.

  • Faulty USB port message & froozen iPod with picture of dock connector

    Hello,
I've got a problem with a faulty USB port. I've been connecting my 3rd gen iPod (2003, touch wheel, dock connector) to my windows using computer for year - but today it doesn't work. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and was about to syn/upload my iTunes library to my iPod but then computer says I have a faulty USB connection. There is nothing wrong with the USB ports. The iPod shows a picture of the dock connector, and then shuts down. I've tired resetting the iPod but the same thing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Andrea

the new updater is screwing up 3rd and 4th generation ipods. you can buy a new ipod at your local electronics store.

  • With Apple Ipod Protection Plan. Does is cover if u fall over and break it?

Say if u were skateboarding one day and u stacked and landed on your ipod and it broke and didnt work would the apple ipod protection plan cover this and give u a replacement?
Also dont you think that the replacement plan costs a bit much.

    Hello pretzeldog, welcome to discussions.
No, the Applecare Protection Plan does not cover accidental damage or abuse.
No, I don't think it costs too much.

  • HP iPod versus Apple iPod (please help my HP iPod is in ipod heaven :( )

I have a 20G HP+iPod that i bought from cosco that i use with my apple computer. Everything has been working fine until one day when i turned it on and a "sad ipod" flashed up on the screen. When i turned it back on it worked as normal so i thought nothing of it. A little later while listening the ipod froze up so i resetted it. After reseting it a folder with an exclamation mark came up. A little later though it started working again and it worked for a couple of days. I was listening to my ipod in the car for a long time until the batteries ran out and when i plugged it back in the folder with the exclamation mark came up. So i went the apple.com/support and it said i have to restore it. Now this HP iPod would not restore. everytime i restored it it would say an error has occured. Finally i get the thing to restore and i plug it in to put in all my songs again. Unfortunatly my iPod freezes in the middle of uploading the songs so i gave up. Today i tried restoring it again. And updating it again. it froze again. I give up now so i am returning my iPod to cosco tommorow...
Now here is my question. Is an HP iPod different than an Apple one. Because after returning my HP iPod to cosco i am thinking about going to buy a new Apple iPod but i am afraid that it might not be any different than the HP one. (and yes i am defienatly planning on buying the insurance for it). Please help! (good thing about cosco u get a full refund for anything)

The HP has the same hardware as the apple one. The warranties and service offered by each company is where the differences lie.
Since your iPod broke so early with those icons, it was probably a lemon and the HD was having issues.
Since you have a mac though, get an apple iPod because HP doesn't support any connection issues between an HP iPod and a mac.

  • Will A 5G iPod With A iPod Photo Dock Support Video Output?

    Hello everyone,
I recently sold my iPod photo and purchased a new 5G iPod. I kept my iPod Photo Dock because it has a S-Video and Audio-Out on it.
I was wondering however, before I commit to purchasing an Monster iTV cable for this dock, if iPod Photo dock will allow me to play video from my 5G iPod to my tv?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Travis

We have one at home originally used with an iPod Photo. The iPod with video will charge over firewire, it just won't update. The USB and Firewire chargers are the same except for the connection.

  • Replacing my stolen iPod with Touch iPod

My iPod was stolen and I plan to replace it with Touch iPod. Will I be able to transfer my existing iTunes to the new iPod? How about my purchased stuff, will they transfer, too? PLease let me know before I sink money into a new one. Thanks.

    Hi Bryan,
I see you helped out another person regarding replacing a stolen iPod. Its a common occurance...yup, just happened to me. You were saying there isn't a problem with replacing the iPod and linking to the old/current iTunes. Can I ask!?...is it a case of just plugging in the new iPod and what? follow the prompts? I've spent so much time perfecting my iTunes and am gutted that my iPod was lifted...so I am hoping for some reassurance that all I will need is the replacement cost with an easy 'plug it in and go!' Can you help me out? Cheers, Erich

  • 5th generation iPod with 3rd generation dock connector?

    hello,
I have a 30GB 3rd generation iPod, which is now a totally crammed... so I am planning on buying a new iPod Photo. With my 3rd generation iPod, a dock connector was included in the package. Will this dock connector work with the new iPod Photo, or do I need to buy one of those "Universal Docks"?
I was looking in Apple Store, but couldn't find an answer there. Does anybody know?
    cheers,
    pj

    Hey,
I just picked up my new 5g iPod and I am using it with the dock connector from my 4g with now problems. It sets the ipod at just the right angle to watch movies as well as charging, sync, etc.
