5GB per Device instead of per iCloud Account

I have  4 iOS devices, each have a variety of apps.  I backup to iCloud (less stress than iTunes). Currently I'm paying for 20GB of data, because I have exceeded my free limit.  But I feel this isn't fair.  Its more reasonable to have 5GB per device, especially considering that I pay to provide LTE to each.  Anyone want to chime in here?

I could not agree more!  It hardly seems fair that a new customer with only one device gets the same 5Gb that loyal, multiple device owners receive. I'm thankful for the 5, but I won't pay for more, I feel like it's a ripoff.

Is there a limit on to how many devices can use one icloud account

An account for iCloud does also include log-ins for the iOS App Store / Mac App Store / iTunes Desktop Application , but an iCloud account on any device iOS / Mac / PC does not have to match the App Store / iTunes account which certainly has its account login limitations per device as has been pointed out.
What seems to be ommitted is if there is a limit to an iCloud account per X number of devices.
In my estimation there appears to be no limitation for iCloud accounts per device. I say this only with the experience of having my own iCloud account on a MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, Apple TV Gen2, Apple TV Gen3, iPhone 5S, and an iPad Mini Gen 1.
That is 7 separate devices. Never once have I been prompted about a limit when setting up my iCloud account (which constitues Contacts / Calendar / Notes / Reminders / Documents in the Cloud / Keychain / and Photo Stream and not purchased content through App / iTunes "stores" which do give such prompting upon authorizing your respective device for being able to use / sync said purchases)
I've really only come to this realizatoin upon thinking this through after reading this thread. I was actually searching for this answer myself until now. If I'm wrong I will welcome a rebutal with proof.

  • Is there a way I can view/manage devices linked to my iCloud account?

Is there a way I can view/manage devices linked to my iCloud account? I know how to view the devices linked to my iTunes account, but I am not sure if this is possible to see with an iCloud account.

You can't, except by seeing if they are using services associated with the account.  You could, for example, launch Find My iPhone on iCloud.com to see what devices appear (which obviously wouldn't show devices not using Find My iPhone).  Similarly, you could go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to see what devices appear on the Backups list (which won't show devices not using iCloud backup).

You will have to do more than simply changing settings in your moms account. To set up everything in your own account, go to Settings > iCloud > scroll down and press sign out. From this, check out this link for how to setup iCloud on all of your devices after making a new icloud account on your phone: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Before you set that up, you will have to make a new iCould account which you can simply do after you sign out of your mom's account on your devices.
    Hope I can help!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, he has a couple of ways of doing this.
iCloud photo stream will sync photo stream photos automatically. AirPlay will show anything on his phone on the Apple TV.

You don't need to share, as long as correctly set up they will sync by default.
Here is set up process depending of device type.

All that does is delete the iCloud account on your phone, nothing more.

  • Maximum number of devices per icloud account

I work for a University and we would like to have all of our Apple devices on one iCloud account for ease of management.  What is the maximum number of devices that can be registered on one iCloud account?
    Thanks,
    Natasha

    10 per Apple ID.

  • How many devices can use one iCloud account?

I'm currently working with a school that have bought 15 new iPads. I was wondering whether all of these could be set up under 1 iCloud account, or whether there was a limit to the number of devices that can be registered. The reason for asking this is the we would like to use Find My iPhone to keep track of the devices within the school, and send messages to any that are misplaced, so we can alert nearby staff to return them to us. We aren't interested in music or movies, as they will primarily be used as learning tools, so any restriction specifically on that content doesn't matter to us. The only thing that would is if there is restrictions on app usage within a single account. For example, if we download an app using the single iCloud account, and had automatic downloads switched on for all 15 iPads, would the app be able to be installed on all of those 15? Sorry if this has been a little long winded, and thanks in advance for your answers.

  • HT4436 Can I have multiple devices using the same iCloud account?

We want to use "Find my iPhone" in iCloud to keep track of all of our corporate-owned devices so we use the same iCloud account on all devices.  If we enable iCloud backup, will that cause problems?  Will the latest backup be the one that gets picked up if we need to do an iCloud restore?

Go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then if you're using iOS 7 enter the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted.  This only deletes the account from the device, not from iCloud.  The other device won't be effected by this.  Also, when you delete the account you will be prompted about whether or not to keep a copy of the iCloud data on the device or delete it.  Finally, if you want to keep any of the photo stream photos on the device, save them to the camera roll before deleting the account.

  • HT4859 Ive lost my contacts by using a new device on the same iCloud account army phone I deleted the contacts off the iPad and it took them off my phone as well how do I get my contacts back please help

I've lost all my contacts off my phone I synced my I pad with the same account when I deleted the contacts from the I pad it deleted them from my phoneidont have it backed up on a pc how do I get it back

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted.  The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync.  You need to use different IDs.  You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps.  But use different icloud IDs.

  • How do I de-autherize a device remotely from my iCloud account

Delete your iCloud account on their device(s).

  • Loging on a device using a different icloud account

I have an ipad that my brother uses. His icloud account is set up on it. I want to use mine but it wont let me log in. Help!, I have an ipad that my brother uses. His icloud account is set up on it. I want to use mine but it wont let me log in. Help!

Right, that's the way it should work.  But there are too many posts by users who have managed to lose their data.  At the very least, be sure the brother's account has backups to itunes and/or icloud.
Also, isn't there some rule about switching accounts too often during a given period of time (or maybe I'm thinking of some other thing like the itunes account ID)?
