5k iMac looses connection to bluetooth mouse

Brand new 5k iMac looses connection to Apple Bluetooth mouse.
Sometimes it reconnects automatically, sometimes I have to turn it off and on again to reconnect.
It happens all day long. Really frustrating!!!
Anyone knowing if it is hardware or software related?
Any suggestions for å solution is appreciated...

Thank's for your reply rkaufmann87, but it is not setup related.
The wireless mouse worked without any problems om my previous iMac.
On the new 5k, it seems that the Bluetooth-connection disconnects the mouse, without any obvious reason, then reconects after 5-15 sec's.
This happens regularly during the day.
Both machines is running OS10.10.1

  • IMAC looses connection to Printer

Computer will not print and seems to lose connection to the printer. I deleted all printers and made a new printer connection. Printer has address 192.168.0.14.  Later IMAC looses connection to printer again. I look at address on printer and it is now 192.168.0.15. Its done this several times. So why does the printer keep changing its address? Is there a way to set it permanently?

Hi  I may have found what you are looking for to set the printer up with a dedicated IP Address. The printer obtains the IP address from your router, I'm not sure why your router is reassigning the IP addresses so frequently.  All of the steps for troubleshooting the Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection are on available on that document, but I have copied the basics on setting up the Static IP address. (Solution five: Assign the printer a static IP address) You can review that document and try the other solutions if you continue to have connectivity issues. Locate your printer's current IP address, which you already haveOpen an Internet browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) on your computer.Type your printer's IP address in the browser's address bar, and then press Enter. The Embedded Web Server (EWS) opens.Click the Network tab from the EWS navigation menu.In the Wireless section, click the Network Address (IP) or IPv6 configuration, depending on your network setup.Click Manual IP, and then click Suggest a Manual IP Address.
A manual IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway displays.Don't forget to save or apply the settings I believe you might want to try to refresh your network connection afterwards. Power cycling your router allows it to reestablish a fresh connection to all of your devices. Here's how to power cycle your network if you are unsure: 1) Unplug the power cable from your wireless router (NOTE: Do not reset the router)
    2) Do the same for the printer
    3) Shut down the computer
    4) First plug the router back in, and wait for it to fully power up
    5) Then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid.
    6) Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on  Check to make sure the manual IP address has stayed on the printer.
You may also have to remove and add your printer in Printers and Scanners.Open your System Preferences, click on Printers and Scanners.Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer.Once the printer is removed, click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,

  • Loosing connection for wireless mouse...?

Every time I turn my MBP on or switch users, my wireless mouse looses its connection and I have to set it up again as a new device. Anyone know a way around this so?

How patient are you? I find it can take a minute or two before the Mac gets around to re-acquiring my Kensington Bluetooth mouse. This is what happens on an iMac, but it may well be similar on a MacBook. It's tedious and annoying, but I rarely log out or reboot, so it hasn't been too big a problem for me.

  • Unable to connect to bluetoothe mouse (microsoft notebook mouse 5000) because of missing passcode

whn i pair my mouse i need a passcode. i do not have the box of the mouse becuase it is really old, how do i connect without a psscode or what is the passcode?

    See Microsoft KB952818
A Microsoft Bluetooth mouse does not require a passkey to connect to the computer.
If you are prompted for a passkey, select No passkey. If you do not get the
No Passkey option, try to enter 0000 as a passkey by using your keyboard.

  • Connecting a Bluetooth Mouse is a Long Process Now

I have a MacMice Bluetooth mouse that I have had since I had OS 10.4 installed. In OS 10.4 it was easy to connect. Once I had paired the mouse with the computer all I had to do was turn on the mouse and wait a few seconds for it to connect. Then I installed OS 10.5 and it would no longer connect that easy. Under OS 10.5 I had to go up to the bluetooth menu item and go down to "MacMice" in the drop down menu and choose connect. All this with the trackpad. Then I can use the bluetooth mouse.
Now, I am on OS 10.6 and it still doesn't connect as easily as turning it on and Apple seems to have made it even harder to connect. I now have to go up to the Bluetooth menu item and go down to "MacMice" in the drop down menu but connect is no longer there. Now I have to click on "Open Mouse Preferences..." and then wait for it to find the mouse and then click on connect and then close the preferences. Talk about a bunch more steps that used to be just one step for me.
Any ideas on ways around this to get it to work as it did in OS 10.4?

You could try to find a new driver. I agree that the menu options are more convoluted. I've even been insulted (repeatedly) by selecting the previously paired mouse, finding no option to connect, going back to the menu (you can get there from the menu bar, by the way) to choose "set up a bluetooth device", and having the %$#& system tell me that my mouse is "already paired" and insisting that I acknowledge this before it will let me connect. But somehow, magically, my Kensington Bluetooth mouse is now happy with 10.6, and it no longer requires reconnection when I come back to the computer and wake up the display. Maybe the same lucky stroke will happen to you.

  • Connect to bluetooth mouse with no passkey

My bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Notebook Presenter 8000) needs no passkey when pairing yet there doesn't seem to be any way within the Playbook interface to indicate this so I'm unable to pair it.
Has anyone found a way around this sort of a problem or will it have to wait for a RIM fix?

Have a Dell Bluetooth mouse... Playbook asks for pass key, opens a box to enter it...   it connects with 0000 pass key entered into the Playbook. In adding a Dell Bluetooth keyboard, a pass key appears on the Playbook screen... enter it into the keyboard, and it connects.

  • Connect bluetooth mouse in citrix

    Hi,
Is there a way to connect a bluetooth mouse in Citrix? I travel quite a bit and love the portability of the IPad. I really would like the ability to connect a bluetooth mouse when operating in a Citrix envrioment.

The iPad doesn't support pointing devices like mice, even if you're using an app to connect to a standard desktop. The most you can use is a keyboard.

  • Bluetooth mouse does not connect

    Surface Pro 2; Win 8.1
    Built-in Bluetooth
I am attempting to connect a Bluetooth mouse to the surface when working at my desk. I have Bluetooth turn on and it keeps scrolling ... searching.
I have 2 Bluetooth mice that I am trying to get to connect:
    1. Verbatim model 96991 (no transceiver)
    2. Microsoft wireless mobile 3500 (with transceiver). I loaded Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard center. When run, cannot find device. I did not connect the transceiver because I want the internal stack to work.
I wish to use internal surface Bluetooth stack.
What do I do to get MS mouse working on surface 2 Pro win 8.1 with internal Bluetooth stack (no transceiver)

MS Bluetooth mouse (w/USB) will not connect natively to Surface2 PRO.
Another Bluetooth mouse (no USB) does but does not sustain connection. I'll use this one.

  • AT300-100 - Connection problems with bluetooth mouse

I am having problems connecting a bluetooth mouse to my toshiba AT300-100 tablet.
The tablet and the mouse are able to successfully pair with each other. The tablet asks for the password, I enter 0000 and the two devices successfully pair up with each other.
I then ensure that the mouse is selected as an input device (click on the mouse settings icon in the Bluetooth screen). I receive no errors at any point. However, there is no mouse pointer on the screen, the mouse buttons have no effect, and the scroll wheel has no effect.
I have Googled and searched this forum, I can not find a reference to this problem elsewhere. Please advise. It appears to be an O/S bug as far as I can tell.
Looking on youtube I see the Asus tablet works fine with a mouse and I am following the exact same procedure. I have used the mouse on my Toshiba tecra with no problems at all, so I know the mouse is working just fine.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?
    Thank you.
    Mark

    Hi
    Did you solve this issue?
Are you abele to use the BT mouse connected to AT300?
In the description of AT300 its mentioned that you can use Virtual Mouse connected via BlueTooth or USB port.
Check the settings in Language & Input Android area.
There should be a point called Keyboard & Input Mouse
If you have more than one installed input device, tap Configure input methods to open the screen where you can configure each input method.

  • Bluetooth Mouse with Windows Vista

I have a 5 month old iMac and installed Vista on it and I was able to connect my bluetooth mouse and keyboard to it just fine.. But my brother-in-law just got a new iMac and I installed Vista on it for him and when I try to connect his bluetooth mouse with it it wont work it works in Mac OS X but wont let me connect it to Vista. It gives me some error about unable to pass passcode onto it or some junk..
Anyone have this problem and/or how to fix it?

It is probably unlikely to be the mouse but it could be. Otherwise my vista install took a good half hour to do the pairing for no real reason, I just kept trying. So from me just persist with it and try reinstalling the bluetooth driver, it seems to be a problem most people have a problem with the wireless mighty mouse at first I don't know why. Sorry I'm not helpful but as for as I now there isn't a solution because it will work.

  • Bluetooth mouse...is there a way to assign it to a specific computer?

Hi, I have a MacBook and my husband has a new iMac that came with a bluetooth mouse. We traded mice (I had a USB one) and most of the time, our mice work fine. However, if my laptop is off while my husband's iMac is on, the bluetooth mouse finds the iMac (half a room a way) and wants to be controlled by it instead! So then when I turn on my laptop, I have a hassle of trying to get the mouse to connect with my laptop again and sometimes I have to get my husband to turn his iMac off before I can get it to work again.
So I'm wondering if there is some way that we can 'tell' the bluetooth mouse to only connect with my laptop, not the iMac?
    Thanks.

    Hello a:
Try having your husband go to system preferences>bluetooth and uncheck discoverable and on.
I do not have a similar configuration, but that should avoid the iMac "finding" the mouse. Now, if he is using a Bluetooth keyboard, that will not work……. If that is the case, uncheck discoverable and see if that addresses the issue.

  • Problems with a bluetooth mouse and others operating systems

Hello, I have an error related to bluetooth devices.
I have on my Mac mini apart from Mountain Lion, a Linux distribution.
Steps to follow to find the error:
    1. - Connect a bluetooth mouse to Mountain Lion and set it up.
    2. - Reset the mini, start with Linux and also configure the mouse.
Now the mouse works fine on Mountain Lion and Linux.
Start again with Mountain Lion, you will see that the mouse does not work, but the system has added and configured.
That mistake I've seen for the first time in Snow Leopard, Lion has continued and now with Mountain Lion.
The only way to fix it is to connect a USB mouse, remove the Bluetooth mouse and add it again.
The configuration fails again when using the mouse in Linux.
Tested on another Mac (Mac-Pro) with the same result.
(I tested it with a Dell BT Travel Mouse and a Magic Mouse)

    First, excuse my poor english
It's not offend, but I understand that at the time that Linux is off, and OSX is on, is OSX which is not able to work with the mouse.
I do not know what is the reason for which the operating system is not able to operate the mouse, even if it is paired and authorized.
The system also says that the mouse is working properly, when it is obvious that it is not.
Moreover, the Bluetooth preference pane is completely slowed and functioning incorrectly.
And finally, to comment that the mouse works properly on Linux after having done in OSX ..., which shows that the problem is OSX.
If I open this post is for someone to try and investigate.
Would be nice if Apple released a patch as it is clear that something is not working well in OSX.
What I did not expect was to listen that having a Linux through the middle, there is no problem.
    regards
