5S is getting hot on the back

I am using 5s 16 GB model and after upadating to iOS 7.0.4, i tried to restore my icloud backup through Wi-Fi, it took 3o minutes to restore, but during that time the back was really hot and battery drained quickly.
Even if i play game or browse for some time, the back is getting hot.
Does is there any fix for it?

That warmth is normally caused by excessive battery drain, and that excessive battery drain is often caused by heavy processor use. Try rebooting your BlackBerry.
Also, on the WiFi, go your WiFi setup and deleted the saved WiFi profiles for those your device is not seeing. Then reboot the device and look for those known good WiFi routers again.

  • Is normal for the ipad get hot on the back while in use?, Is normal for the ipad get hot on the back wile in use?

I have an ipad, when is being used it gets hot on the back, is that normal?

Warm is normal. The processor and battery generate heat. 'Too hot to handle', quite literally, is a good rule of thumb for when to stop using it and make an appointment to get your device checked out.

  • If i reset my ipod will it stop getting hot on the back?

just recently my ipod touch 4g started to get hot on the back, why is that? what can i do to fix it?

Hardware problem.  Call Apple.  800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

  • What do I do when my iPod 3g gets hot on the back?

My iPod was in my pocket and I went to pull it out. It was really hot on the back. I had recently gotten a case a few weeks earlier and hadn't put into consideration that it could cause a problem. I then put it on the charger and came back 15-20min later and put it back in my pocket. Later, the same thing happened it didn't (and hasn't) turned back on. I  often keep my iPod on all day and don't take it out of the case. I researched and found one should take of the case while charging the iPod. What should I do?

    - Leave it out of the case
    - Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If still problem that indicates a hardwar problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPhone 3G gets hot at the back

    Anyone else notice this??

I've mostly noticed it when "Location Services" (in general settings) are turned on. Turning Location Services on activates your gps antenna, which drains power and appears to generate a lot of heat. Remember, if you ask Maps, or allow a location-based application like Yelp, to identify your current location, Location Services will automatically turn on and stay on (even after you've closed the application).

  • Why iphone5 getting hot at the back when using wifi only?, Why iphone5 getting hot at the back when using wifi only?

    Help

It all depends upon your configuration.
You should first determine in a case like this if your iPhone or other device has been assigned a valid DHCP address.
If you see a value like 169.x.x.x, you have not been assigned a valid DHCP address. This may occur for many reasons, most often because the DHCP server component of your router is not issuing them, or your device is not commmunicating with it. Valid DHCP addresses are generally in the ranges of…
    • class A: 10.0.0.1 through 10.255.255.255
    • class B: 172.16.0.1. through 172.31.255.255 and seldom used, and
    • class C: 192.168.0.1 through 192.168.255.255
If you have a valid DHCP address, then the issue is likely that your router is not properly configured, in that it does not have valid DNS server addresses stored in its configuration files.
Generally, a router or gateway requires that you configure its assigned address, a valid subnet mask, and primary and secondary DNS servers. While you can use any valid DNS address for primary, secondary, tertiary and subsequent server entries, by convention, most technicians set the pair assigned by the internet service provider for your service area. In Eugene OR, for example, Comcast DNS addresses are set to…
    • primary: 68.87.69.146 and
    • secondary: 68.87.85.98
Check to see that your router or gateway configuration contains such information, as the result of being issued a valid DHCP address but not being able to identify a DNS server leads to the sort of issue outlined by the original poster.
You can easily determine if this is the case by querying a known site by its numeric address, rather than by its canonical name. If one takes you to the site but the other fails to do so, then you have the DNS issue I referred to.

  • Why does my iphone 4s get so hot on the back

A lot of times when I'm using my phone to surf the web it seems to get hot on the back. Also there are times when the phone screen doesn't react to pinch and other gestures. Do I need to do something particular to fix these problems?

If you have a weak cellular signal the phone must increase its output power to maintain a connection to the tower. The difference can be very large; for example, with 5 bars the phone transmits with 50 milliwatts; with 1 bar it goes up to 600 milliwatts.

  • My iPad gets so hot on the back it would burn my granddaughters hands

WWhy Dow my Ipaf get soooo very hot on the back.  It is hot enough to burn my young granddaughters hands, and why does this happen and  should I worry about it?

You should address this concern at an Apple Store or authorized reseller
who can have an on-staff specialist or genius test to see if it could be of
such a temperature (if duplicated heat/use patterns can be attained) to
considered harmful to a child's hands.
    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
If the unit is fairly new, contact the Store or AppleCare directly (not via a
post in these user-to-user discussion forums) and if the unit appears to
be too hot or defective according to the Apple store or product experts
you may have inspect the unit and talk to in person, they may be able
to determine a course of action best suited to the circumstances.
And, if you do not see this as a product your child can comfortably use
then state that to the Apple Store or authorized retailer where purchased.
If not too long since purchase, there may be options or alternatives to
attempting to continue the use of that product.
Since return policies for recent purchase returns or exchanges may vary
across regions, or countries outside of the US and Canada, you may
have to contact Apple sooner than later -- before any of them expire.
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
Sorry to not be of much help; however replies here are user-to-user and
do not represent Apple, its policies, or positions. The remedy of your
circumstance and hopeful satisfactory outcome, remains with Apple people
you'd contact via Site links, phone numbers, or a local official Apple Store.
If the product is still covered under its initial complementary warranty or
has an extended service plan from AppleCare, they should look into it.
And at a retail Store's Genius bar, even an out-of-warranty item can be
checked and tested to some degree, often for free.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Apple will do it for $79.

  • My iPad 32 gb Verizon is getting hot in the bach

Hi my new iPad is getting really hot in the back in the opposite side of the speakers and in the same side but in the front any one else having this issue on apple forums there is a lot of people having this issue .

I'll have to do some more heat tests later... for myself I have it at 50% brightness.  Sounds like the lamp brightness seems to make a difference for you.
I don't use a cover on my new iPad.  But do plan to have a skin when one comes out later.  I used skins on my iPad2 in the past without problems.  Then again, I was using the Zagg Keyboard cover, where the back side is exposed for air cooling.
Again, see if disabling the LTE if it makes a difference.  I notice my mobile hotspots generate a lot of heat.  Someone told me the new cell frequencies approach "microwaves".  So perhaps the LTE is make the iPad a coffee warmer.

  • HT2101 How do I prevent my new iphone 4 from getting hot in the first place?

I got a new iPhone 4 for Christmas. It is constantly overheating and getting insanely hot when charging. My battery life is suffering, it takes hours to charge and loses battery life very quickly. How can I prevent my device from getting hot in the first place? I use it in a room temperature environment and only have about 2 apps running at one time.

Idealy you should move your itunes content from your old computer to your new one
    Here are your options
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Then just sync your iPhone with the new computer. It will ask to erase but as everything in in your new itunes this is OK. Then choose what to sync back onto your iphone
If you no longer have the old computer here is how to restore your library from the iPhone
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Then you can sync your machine with the new computer.
If you do not care about this and just want to extract the items mentioned
I found this and it will extract your Contacts and messages.

  • My iPhone 4S is becoming too hot on the back after using apps

My phone 4s is becoming too hot on the back after using apps and browsing over the net

Apple actually recommended that at least once a month What I've noticed in the iPhones and iPods that when you drain it to 0%, it saves some energy to display that connect to AC source. That's what you get when you turn on your phone or ipod even if it's 0%. That WILL destroy the battery but full cycling wouldn't.
I tried it and it worked thanks but after a day it will be glitchy again :l

  • How do I get rid of the back-up on Time Machine?

Got rid of a computer, how do I get rid of the back-up on Time Machine (housed on a Time Capsule)? Can I safely just delete the sparsebundle file?

It is much easier, and much faster, to erase the Time Capsule drive if you do not have other backups on the drive.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click the Time Capsule icon
    Click Edit
    Click the Disks tab
    Click Erase Disk
The Quick Erase option will be fine and will only take a minute or two
If you do not plan to hold onto the Time Capsule use the Zero Out option, which is more secure
If you do have other Time Machine sparsebundle files on the Time Capsule and do not want to erase them, then you will need to manually delete the sparsebundle file that you no longer need.
It will likely take about as long to delete the file as it took to make the first backup.
