5s rattling power button and double click noise

My 5s is having that power button rattle, and my home button is making that double click noise which is very annoying to me. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar to get it looked at, but the problem is that I two dents on my phone. Would they still replace my phone for free, or would they charge me that $79 for those dents, (I have Apple Care+).

Hard to tell, if the phone has been dropped, this might have been a reason for your home button problems.
Since you have Apple Care+, maybe you're lucky and they'll fix it for free.

Going direct into the wall, through a power strip. By iteslf, with other devices plugged in. I removed hard drives, and some RAM, and nothing. Sometimes it would not turn on, and then some minutes later it works. So its was sparatic, but now its been the same situation for three days where it wont turn on.
I'm guessing power supply, but I wanted to see if anyone had a similar expereince and what the solution was, before I drag this beast to my local Apple store and have them look at it. Its a real pain to get it there and back and I want to be armed with some info for them. I already dragged this to them when it first started to do this, and of course it started up just fine for them. And you know if it works for the Genius then theres nothing wrong with. No matter what you explain to them.
I figure if anyone had a the same problem and was able to resolve it, I can relate that experience to the Genius even if it start up for them.

Try a SMC Reset using the extended method:
Remove the AC power cord.
Press the power-on button. [This drains the stored charge from the power supply]
wait a quarter minute.
Restore the power cord, being certain to JAM it into the socket, as the big block of rubber inhibits proper seating.
wait a quarter minute
attempt to power on.
If no joy, examine the button battery half-hidden behind the graphics card. Remove it to measure the Voltage. A new battery should not cost over US$5, and measures a little over 3 Volts. BR-2032 is used in garage door opener controls and car door locks controls. The geeks at Radio Shack can measure it for you.

Programming button for single and double click

I know how to programme a button to play a certain movie segment. However, in my current project I need to be able to programme a button in the menu so that
1. on rollover - nothing
2. on single mouse click - button colour changes + a parapraph of text appears on the menu screen in a predefined space
3. on double click - a movie clip plays
It might be a simple qiestion but I would greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

Do not change the highligh and it will look like nothing is happening (make sure auto activate is not beign used)
2. on single mouse click - button colour changes + a parapraph of text appears on the menu screen in a predefined space

Single and Double clicks cannot be done like that. (Some players using layered menus do require a click to get things seen but not really what you are speaking about.)
Flash or Director may be better for this?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Hi there. If you have 10.9 Maverick you can get in recovery mode By using /command r Option R or Option. Then you came click on the link to go to disk utilities and repair your disk or do a reinstall of you operating system. I think the screen you are seeing is the recovery screen. It sounds like you are not able to turn on your phone. You should use these steps in the following article to help resolve it, or setup service if needed:

Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:

Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
Does not return to the Home screen after you press the Home button
Does not wake from sleep after you press the Sleep/Wake button
Does not turn on (or power on) when you press any button
Does not start up past Apple logo
Appears frozen or unresponsive
Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
To troubleshoot these symptoms:

Yup! I've been there! You just have to double-tap the screen with three fingers and the zoom should go back. You have to turn off the feature in Settings>Accessibility>Zoom>and turn the switch off so this won't happen again when you double-triple tap.

Lumia 920 Power Button and Flash Stopped Working

The power button and camera flash randomly stopped working on my Lumia 920. The phone itself still works (I can tap to wake it and use it normally) but the power button does nothing when pressed. I tried letting the battery drain completely then let it re-charge overnight to no avail. I also attempted to perform a factory reset but the issue persists. [SOLVED] Power button and laptop lid close rules not followed (KDE)

I'm using KDE 4.9.1, and the rules I set for the power button and lid close events in the KDE power management settings are not followed.
Currently, I have the power button press event set to trigger hibernation, and the lid close event set to turn off the display. Instead, the power button causes the laptop to power down immediately, as if the 'poweroff' command was issued. Closing the lid causes the system to suspend to ram.
This problem seemed to have started when I installed 'laptop-mode-tools' and 'acpid'. The problem persisted even when I uninstalled the said packages from the system. Most solutions on the internet involve adjusting the contents of files in /etc/acpi/, but that directory does not exist on my system. I also tried deleting the power management configuration files in the ~/.kde4/share/config directory, but that didn't fix the problem either.
Hibernation works if I choose 'hibernate' from the KDE menu.

That's not a good solution.
Changes in systemd default behaviour are reasonable. It guarantees that if your graphical enviroment has no suspend support, it will still suspend when the lid is closed.
For example, closing the laptop lid at KDM login screen will now suspend the laptop. I remember a topic when someone nearly killed his notebook battery with overheat in that situation (the laptop did not suspend when the lid was closed at kdm screen).
This change also brings native (non-acpid) suspend support to lighweight desktop enviroments.
The source of the «double suspend» problem is in acynchronized update of systemd and KDE.
Updating KDE to 4.9.2 (which will be released in several days) will fix this without editing the config file.
Make sure you restore the original logind.conf after updating to KDE 4.9.2.

Power Button and Attention button are blinking fast

Power Button and Attention button are blinking fast simultaneously. I have tried turning it on and off many times, opened closed all doors, but the blinking seems to be returning everytime. It wouldnt even scan. In the Scan applicacation it says "Problem Scanning - Can't find the scanner. Make sure it's turned on and connected to your PC."
I have recently taken it to Shraf DG from where I bought it. They told that they have replaced the printer assembly. However, the printer is not working and now the warranty also got elapsed.

Of course. To do it, open a Finder window, go to Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > General, and untick "Open folders in tabs instead of new windows".

She was on a call and went to end the call and the phone just turned off.
Left it on charge for an hour or so and nothing.
I tried the old reboot (home button and power button) and nothing
I tired with the sim out.
And with it plugged into a PC, opened iTunes and it didn't recognize that the phone was plugged in.
I tried my PC and nothing.
My phone charges and connects to both PC's
Tried holding the home button then plugging into PC
Tried holding the power button then into PC
I've now been trying different combinations for about 3 hours and now I'm all out of ideas.... :(
Please please can some help before Tuesday when I will have to find someone to repair it.

Sounds like faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple for quick (minutes) free battery diagnostic testing. If you have Warranty or AppleCare the problem will be covered.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
