5th Gen. Brand new ipod DIED! Need help on this.

Hi: I purchased my 30 gig ipod from B&H store in New York and I also have purchased an extended 3 international warranty coverage which sold by a company called `Mackcam`. Their website is www.mackcam.com and they are totally BOGUS! Knowing that I am in Turkey and probably assuming won't push this further away, they haven`t answered my warranty claim since mid June.
What happened to my ipod video is that after holding it connectted to USB 2.0 port for 4 hrs' suddenly computer at work came up w dialog box `USB device not recognized`despite it was already connected to the port and had been working for 4 hrs. Then i took it home and worked fine w my laptop only 1 day. Ive put some songs and disconnectted w fully charged battery, listened in the bed but after 10 minutes I ve noticed that battery indicator was red and showing 1 / 5 energy. I shut it off and next day I plugged onto USB, a blinking shock indicator show up but it never charged again nor my computer recognized the ipod.Lately same day my ipod has died since then I have been trying to charge it periodically but no hope. It looks totally dead.
My question is that how do I find out if the problem is battery or hdd inside is burnt? If the problem is battery' and since my so called `warranty` doesnt respond to my claim I will buy one of those toolkits for battery replacement sold at Ebay. If the problem is HDD i have nothing to do more. I will never buy apple product ever again.
Thanx for any help

i just got a 4GB ipod nano for christmas. it say i have a 1000 songs but i only have 209 and now it won't let put anymore on it, its say its full. when i first loaded i tunes on my computer its asks if i want to make it my default player do i? what does that mean? also i took songs off my media player yahoo musicplayer is what what made it so full? is there anyway to change the file size or something or do i just have restore and start all over? someone please help me.

Bear in mind that Apple quotes the number of songs you are able to store on any iPod by using the AAC format at a bitrate setting of 128kbps and for a 4 minute song.
Look in iTunes under edit/preferences/advanced/importing. What does it say in settings and import using? You may have the import settings and bitrate set wrong. You need to compress your music using either mp3 or aac.

  • 3rd Gen. 40GB IPOD ..Need help

Excuse me. My first time here. I hope someone can point this old geezer in the right direction. I purchased an Ipod back in 2003-2005 ... not sure when. I almost never used it. It's been sitting in my closet. Recently, I have been listening to Audio Books by Audible.com. So I drug the old Ipod out in hopes that I can remember how it works.
I can't find my original Install CD. I no longer have that old computer that it was installed on. Don't I need the original Install CD loaded on my Windows 7 Dell Studio Laptop in order to figure out how to upgrade to something that works? I hope all that makes sense. Please, if someone can give me direction. It won't sync .. it just sits there and says "do not disconnect". And a little blue thing just keeps spinning on my ITunes screen. I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I'm a dinosaur.
    Thank you

Do you have iTunes installed? Free download from apple.com. Do not need the CD. Are you using the original cable that came with your iPod? If the iPod is that old, it probably needs a FireWire cable.

  • Brand new Mac user, needs help getting Mac onto Wireless Print Server

    Ladies & Gents,
After much struggle with PCs in the last two weeks I finally broke down and bought a MacBook. I'm very happy with it, but I am having issues getting hooked into my office's wireless printing network.
The printer is an HP Color Laserjet 3600n and we're set up with a D-Link DPR 1260 router. I've tried just about everything I know, and even our much-more-qualified-than-I resident Mac user is unsure how to make this work.
I will continue to search the forum, but I would appreciate any help. I should be off and on throughout most of the day. Thanks!

  • Songs displayed incorrectly on new iPod. Need help!

I'm sure this is a dumb question and I'm missing something obvious. Yesterday, I got a 60GB iPod (with video/photo capabilities...not sure if that's the only one out there right now) and I put a CD on it. However, I noticed a problem. When I go to artists, and select the album, all of the songs are displayed alphabetically, and not by the correct track number. I already checked, and the ID3 tags have the correct track numbers associated with the songs. How do I get the songs to display correctly by track number, not alphabetically?

Nevermind, I got it to work.

  • I'm brand new here and need help with invalid sim in 8120

Hi. I just got an 8120 from someone on Ebay who said the phone was unlocked. I have AT&T and when this phone is powered on it says Cincinnati Bell - and at the top of the screen it says Invalid SIM... I'm guessing either its NOT unlocked or maybe its just an incompatible phone... any ideas?

It sounds like you are absolutely correct.  It was probably not unlocked or elase it should work with any sim you put in.  There are a ton of sites to purchase the unlock code.  Try a google search, most of the codes will run you about $30.  You can also find sellers on Ebay that provide unlock codes.

  • My brand-new iPod touch (5th Gen) battery takes a very long time to fully charge, even while not in use. Why is this and what should I do?

Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways, like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.

It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.

  • Brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64gb problems with first power on

I have just received a brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64 gb from amazon. After reading the instructions i tried to power it on but nothing happened.
It was suggested on here to try the recovery start but again, nothing happened.
I then plugged the device in to a wall socket charger to see if the battery is flat, but the apple logo comes on for about 15 seconds then goes off again. If I hold down the home button while the apple logo is off, after a while the ipod goes into recovery start up, but as soon as i unplug it from the wall socket adaptor it turns off.
It will not do anything plugged into the usb soccket of my laptop.
Any ideas or will I have to return this to amazon?
