i got an ipod 5th gen which i had import some photo inside, but now i got a problem is i can read the photo in the ipod, but i cannot connect it to my pc, my pc didn't regonize it so how can i get all the pictures out? thanks!

5th gen ipod can receive but not send emails. I have iPad with same settings and no issues. Yet, I keep getting "cannot send mail" the user name or password for "[email protected]" is incorrect. Please assist. I am not running both accounts simultaneously

ITunes claims my 5th gen ipod has old software, but won't let me update

I have two ipods... one an old 3rd gen scroll wheel ipod that just seemed to go kaput... it wasn't showing up in the iTunes source list or on my desktop. So I followed some directions on the apple site to try to restore it:
"Step 1
Delete the file using Terminal
Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities).
Type: sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext
Press Return.
Enter the administrator account password when prompted.
Quit Terminal.
Restart the computer (From the Apple menu, choose Restart).
Step 2
Reinstall iTunes
Download the latest version of iTunes from the iTunes download page.
Install iTunes.
Restart the computer after the installation has completed.
Connect iPod.
Step 3
Delete the iPod.plist file
Remove the following file in the your home directory and launch the iPod updater again
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ipod.plist"
Anyway none of this worked for my old ipod (I think it's dead) but here's my new problem. Since I did this I plugged in my new ipod, 5th gen black 60g, and I got an error message that said:
"Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to the iPod "Honey" because your iPod software is too old. Go to the summary tab in iPod preferences and click Update to get the latest iPod software update."
When I went to the Summary page the whole "Version" section is grayed out and it says "Your iPod is up to date."
What is going on and how can I fix it?

I am having the same problem. I'm wanting to update to iOS 7, the 'Update Now' button is available, but it says I can't download due to no Internet connection. I DO have an Internet connection, but either way it won't let me update. Help!

5th Gen iPod doesn't work but 20GB one does

My 5th generation iPod will connect to Windows, but not to iTunes. I don't think it's a problem with the computer or iTunes because when I connect my 20 gb iPod everything works how it is supposed to. I tried the majority of the steps that Apple suggested, but none of them worked.
Anything to help would be greatly appreciated.

Here, I'll go into a little more detail.
When I plug my iPod in with iTunes closed, it shows up in My Computer just like it's supposed to with the Do Not Disconnect on the screen. After I open iTunes, the iPod keeps that same screen for about 20 seconds, and then it goes to the main menu. It never shows up on iTunes, and as soon as the screen changes to the main menu it disappears from My Computer. Again, when I plug in the 20 gb iPod it works just like it's supposed to and updates normally.

I wanted to add notes to my ipod but it's not showing up in 'my computer'. The ipod is still recognized in itunes and I can still add and remove songs.
Whenever I plug it in to the computer I a message that says

There might be a problem with some files on this device or disc. This can happen if you remove the device or disc before all files have been written to it."
When I click Scan and Fix it says "The disk check could not be peformed because Windows cannot access the disk."
I've completely removed and reinstalled itunes and reset my ipod multiple times. I can't tell you how many time I've gone through the 5 Rs.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this? or If I can fix it? I have Windows Vista.

Usually this happens when the device was improperly ejected from your PC.

The 169 IP address mans it did not correctly negotiate with the router:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Want to upgrade to new 5th gen iPod 60GB but would like answers to the following.
1. Apple say, If you have a Windows PC and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 or later, you can download photo collections automatically.
Will the above work on a Mac using Adobe Photoshop 7?.
2. Apple say, When you download photos to iPod, iTunes optimises the photos for viewing. Full-resolution image files arent transferred by default.
By what % does iTunes reduce each image file by?.
3. I have 15,000 Jpeg images stored on an iMac but not in iPhoto. The folder structure is extensive and named in a manner that I understand. If I want to download all 15,000 Jpeg images via iTunes will the folder structure-names and each file code number be kept the same. In other words I want to duplicate the whole archive; folders, files and names and access the same family tree of folders and files as if on an iMac, is this possible?.
4. What is the useable GB hard drive space on a 5th gen 60GB iPod?.

1) You can actually downlaod photos directly from iphoto library .....you can set up folders within iphoto and the pholders will appear on the ipod. But i am unaware of elements transfer on a mac (never done it b4).
4) the useable gb on a ipod hard drive is slightly less that the advertised 30gb or 60gb it in reality done mathematically is slightly less. So it is likely 1 or 2 gb lower than the advertised gb storage.Other factors that key intyo the avialble disk storage is apporx how many songs and other files that are stored on your ipod not including the photos you want to place on there.

I am trying to get pics onto my Ipod. The ipod tutorials suggest going to a photo tab which I do not have. I can not update the Ipod because Itunes 7 says that Ipod is already up to date? Is anyone having this problems?

can you check something for me? what icon is showing up in the itunes sourcelist? is it a wee picture of your 5th G, or does it look quite different?
what version of the firmware is being cited in the "summary" tab you see when you select the ipod in the sourcelist? is that the same version that you see in the "About" screen on your ipod?

Often, but not always, when I start my A6, the MMI starts on the first song on my iPod, thereforeI don't know where I stopped in my 4-6 hour book. How can I get the interface to stay stopped where I left off? I have gone into iTunes and placed my current book as the first "song" on my iPod for ease of finding it, but often the MMI starts it over at the beginning. I think my iPod, which is an iPod touch 3rd generation , which is a lot different from a nano, which really makes it almost impossible for me to help you, which is why I suggested that you post your question in the iPod nano community. Your first post says that your product is an iPod nano. I think the people who answer those questions would be most likely to help you.
