5th sata port wont work

I have been using my NF750-G55 for about a year now and I just purchased a new hard drive that I want to install and the only open sata port that I can connect it to is the 5th vertical sata port on the board. When I plug any and all hardware into this port nothing happens. I have the latest bios installed (version 1.7) and am using windows 7 x64  Is there anyway of fixing this issue?

  • Usb & sdcard port wont work in windows 7

    Hi all,
my usb & sdcard port wont work in windows 7, also i cant install drivers for coprocesor and the sm bus controller,   I have a macbook pro 13" A1278,
I have tryed to install the drivers from the osx cd,  but to no avail it just wont work,
    Please can anyone help

the reason i ask is base system device can be a few differant things but about 90% of what i have seen it show up is the card reader. try to uninstall anything in device manager that has to do with the mic and restart the laptop. this will allow windows to try to find and install the correct drivers. also open realtek HD audio manager and make sure the mic is not muted.

  • Usb port wont work on macbook pro 13" late 2011

    Hello, can anyone help please?
I have 2 usb ports but only 1 is working correctly, the other wont take flash drives or my iphone 4 they wont show in the finder or anywhere on my macbook, however my wd harddrive works fine in the same port.
just to be sure 1 port is working absolutely fine accepts flash drives and every thing this problem is only with one of the ports
This does seem to have happened after i installed mavericks but not sure if this is related

Though all USB ports may not have the same power output, based on what you describe on the 'suspect' port suggests a different issue.  Take the devices that will not work on the 'suspect' port with the MBP to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians inspect it.
You might try SMC and PRAM resets, but I have my doubts about success in your case:

These will not harm your MBP.

  • 5th Generation Ipod wont Work in Itunes

Hi I have a 5th generation Ipod. I recently tried to restore but it wont restore i tried 6 times to restore it and nothing happend it keeps on asking me to restore over and over. I unpluged and pluged it back it asked me if i wanted to format it so i did. Now it only works in ''My Computer'' but doesnt work in Itunes NEED HELP !! plz

If you mean that the iPod does not appear in iTunes then:
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
    Then try
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Firewire 400 port wont work

my issue is... my fire wire 400wont read any firewire 400 device, but my 800 port works fine. however, e wheni route my f 400 devices through my 800 drive, or port, the 800 device is ultimately disengaged ( removed) by the system.
i can understand that a 400 port may be wear out but why would the dv cam or other device, routed through an 800, force the 800 device to shut down. in this case i am uising a power book 15 inch, 1.5 gig, with a lacie porsche 250 gig external 400 firewire ( wont read at all) and a lacie 800 firewire 200 gig drive.
seems to me that since the 800 reads fine, that a 400 device routed through it should be okay too.
    any helpwould be greatly appreciated.
also the system profiler doesnt recognize a 400port, but does list an 800 port.
    thanks eric

FireWire ports can be reset. Shut down the computer, disconnect all peripheral devices, remove the power cord and the battery. Wait twenty minutes, then restart the computer and check the port. If it still doesn't work, reset the Power Management Unit (PMU) according to the instructions for your specific model.
If neither of these steps help in your situation, then you will need to take the machine in for service.
    Good luck!

  • Firewire ports wont work

My Firewire ports have suddenley stopped working.
I have several firewire peripherals and none of them will work.
    Maybe a connection insde?

Thought you could use this info about getting FireWire to work!
First, you should always Repair Permissions in Disk Utility before and after any update; I would do that now. If you installed your update with FireWire plugged in, your Mac may not recognize it anymore.
Try resetting your FireWire ports by disconnecting all FW devices, shut down your Mac and unplug it from AC power (wall socket) for 30 minutes. plug it back in and try FW.
If that did'nt work, download the combo update from this site (yours may be corrupt), not Software Update, disconnect all firewire + USB devices except keyboard + mouse, Repair Permissions, re-install update, Repair Permissions again + try. Yours is the 10.4.5 Combo update. Others reading, download the Combo that applies to your system.
If that still did'nt get it Zap the PRAM. While restarting Mac hold down the following key combo Command-Option-P-R. Keep holding those keys down till you hear the second start-up chime, then release.
For those of you with Macs that are not PowerBooks or iBooks, a bad internal battery can cause FireWire to not be recognized, so make sure it's good!
    Good Luck!
    Cheers!

  • Ethernet Port wont work

hey there, my ethernet port on my T42 doesnt work anymore.  I can connect using the port on my dock and the lights on the laptop port light up as if it were connected.  I tried updating the driver and running PC doctor but I cant figure it out.  Is there a solution?

Remove the driver out of the device manager if you've installed any updates or possibly SP3. If that doesn't work ping your loopback address. Enter the cmd and type: ping 127.0.0.1 if you don't get any response your network port is broken.

  • My USB port wont work and computer is almost brand new

I have plugged in my iPhone 4 and synced it with my Macbook Pro when I first got it, now when I just tried to plug in a iPhone 5 it says there is a USB device already plugged in taking too much power and once it is unplugged my other USB devices will start working again. Problem is there is nothing plugged into my computer. I have tried command+option+esc  but it shows nothing. I restarted my computer and then shut it down and started it back up again and it still tells me the same thing.

    Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help try a new usb cable for the iPhone

  • My charger port wont work what do i do?

Last night i put my ipod away in my bad (there was nothing in it) and it stopped charging this morning. I bought a new charger and everything. I know that i didnt break any part in the charger port but im not sure what to do. My ipod is on low battery and i really need the help.

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Facebook apps wont work for my iphone 4 please help

facebook apps wont work for my iphone 4 please help

Ok, what you have here is a basic 'blown fuse' problem.
With the iPhone 3G and 3GS if you drop them in water and they stop working you can almost always revive the phone simply by oepning them up, finding the corrosion on the motherboard then cleaning it and putting it back together.
With the iPhone 4 (and 4S) it's a different story though in that water damage causes a fuse on the motherboard to blow. Once blown, the phones can no longer receive power from the battery. They can however receive power from a wall charger, which is why your phone runs whilst plugged into a charger but dies as soon as it's disconnected. Trying to run it from a USB port wont work either as the 5V power supply gets interupted whilst the phone is booting, as such it dies part way through booting, and the cycle repeats.
At this stage you have 3 options:
-have the phone replaced by Apple, or
-replace the damaged fuse on the iPhone motherboard yourself, or
-send the phone to a company to have the fuse repaired
There is a company that sells the replacement components, and  they have an installation sevice too. I've fixed a couple of iPhones in my day, and unless you are very proficent with a soldering iron I strongly recommend having the repair done for you.
    See the link below:
    http://fonefixer.webs.com/apps/webstore/products/show/2684671
Sorry it's not good news, but at least you know what's going on with the phone now and can weigh up your options.

  • Extra SATA ports in Windows

Has anyone gotten the extra SATA ports to work in windows XP? they don't seem to be active.

I have a seagate 7200.10 320GB installed in the 2nd Optical drive bay. Its being used as an XP boot disk with a second partion HFS+ formatted as a share between XP and OSX.
In osx partition the lone drive you want to use using the MBR partition option. Add a second fat32 partition as a share if need be. Or, if you use macdrive in XP make it HFS+.
Shutdown and remove all drives but the xp boot drive. Install XP.

  • Z87 GD-65 7 Sata ports dead after bios flash

Greetings, I have a Z87 GD-65 Mobo. I updated the BIOS to version 1.6 from 1.1 via forum flash tool. After the BIOS update, I restarted the computer. While the computer is restarting, I noticed it stopped loading the before the BIOS was loaded. So I checked the debug LED and it stopped on A2 with a black screen. It took me awhile to figure this out but I removed all of the HDD and their sata cables (I have 4 HDD). One by one, I tried connecting the HDD with the OS to each of SATA port on the mobo. I found one that is working, and was able to start my computer (which is sata port #1 and the rest are dead) and get into windows. Question is: How do I get the sata ports to work again?.
    System:
    OS: Windows 8.1 PRO
    MSI Z87 GD-65 With i7 4770k no overclock.
    Memory: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ
    GPU: MSI GTX 780 Lighting.
    Power supply: Corsair TX850M
    Cooler: Corsair H80i

Yes i cleared the cmos by removing the battery and pressing the switch on the mobo and left it for 1 hour. The files i used are the ones from here http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-GD65-GAMING.html#overview and the usb flash tool.

  • Bluray on SATA port?  Wont work...

    Hey,
I just got a bluray drive for my MacPro. I run bootcamp and am trying to make it work on both the Apple partition and the Windows 7 partition. The drive is a LG. I cannot find the part number on the dang box...All it says is Super Multi Blue Internal BD-Rom/DVD Rewritter/ CH10. It says windows 7 support on the box...
But the main problem Im having is that its a eSATA drive. And after I opened up my case I noticed that my superdrive (the one Im replacing) is not. It appears to be IDE or the older style grey strip cable. Well its ok cause it comes with a sata cable. So I plug it into one of the hidden sata connectors I saw on the MOBO. But for some reason when I boot up windows it shows up as a CD drive.
So how can I get windows or bootcamp to recognize the sata port?

    Hi Damballa,
by default Windows or better said the Apple BootCamp Drivers for Windows can not see or use the odd SATA ports.
Have a look here http://osx86.net/archive/index.php/t-3159.html for possible solutions to that.
    Hope it helps
    Stefan
