5x7 Photos don't take up whole sheet
I'm trying to print photos on 5x7 paper. I've cropped the pictures so they are the same ratio as a 5x7 picture. When I select print in Microsoft Office Photo Viewer, it always leaves about a half inch blank spot on the side of the photo paper, like it's expecing a tab to be there. What can I do to remove this?

Photos Don't Transfer Well to iPod
Okay...I have a new U2 Special Edition red and black 30G iPod with the latest version of iTunes on a Windows Vista operating system. Whenever I try to transfer photos to my iPod, it takes a very long time (up to 4-5 hours) to transfer only around 100 photos. The "Optimizing Photos" message stays up the whole time. Then when it is finished, a message pops up saying a bunch of my photos couldn't be transferred. The color on the photos that do get transferred appears distorted and messed up on my iPod, with strips of different colors lined up horizontally on my photos.

I've realised that when I tick sync and press apply in iTunes, it seems to uncheck the box, so when I sync the iPod it doesn't sync the pictures folder. What am I doing wrong? -

I am using the HP app to try and print on photo paper 5x7" supplied with inks by HP for this printer. Printer takes photo papers at edge of tray but won't print as it detects no paper in it! Crazy!
I put the paper sideways, and then it did feel paper but printed across it, cutting off bottom as not correct shape. Printing 5x7 photos on cp1525nw
How do I print 5x7 photos on my printer? It only gives a 5x8 as the closest thing or it goes dow to 4x6. I have 5x7 HP photo paper that came with the phot card pack and I'd like to use them.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with printing on 5 x 7 photo paper from your Windows 7 computer to your HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer. We may just have to 'create' the paper size under the Windows Operating System.
The first thing I did was check the printing specifications for your HP Laserjet to verify that the 5 x 7 paper size was listed under the media specifications, which it is. For your records, here are the specifications for your product: Printer Specifications for HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n and CP1525nw Color Printers
With that being said, because you don't see the 5 x 7 paper size listed under the program that you're printing from, I will have you manually create the size. Please follow the steps below.
1. Click on your Start menu
2. Select Devices and Printers
3. Click on your printer once in this folder and select Print Server Properties at the top.
4. In the Print Server Properties window make sure you're under the Forms tab
5. Click the checkbox for Create a New Form
6. Under Form Name type in 5x7
7. Under the Form Description section at the bottom please type 5.00in as Width and 7.00in as Height
8. Click Save Form on the top right
9. Click Apply and OK
Now that the Paper Size has been manually created, please open the page you wish to print and now listed under the paper size options you should see 5x7 as a size.

I'm trying to restore my MacBook Air but it tells me I need to purchase OS X mountain lion which I have but it says I haven't and I obviously can't put a disc in because MacBook Airs don't take discs. What do I do?

I was able to restore my backup from my time machine ext drive to a new 1tb seagate ext drive. so i felt sort of ok. but yesterday that older ext drive i used for time machine wouldn't open! i called applecare and they trouble shooted with me and said it's probably a goner and data is probably corrupted. it's only a few years old and i'm very careful with it. my husband accidentally dropped my new drive last night -- i know, unbelievable, i was SO upset, poor guy -- but I'm so stressed with all of this. i have 10 years of photos and videos. so now i only have the one newer drive with a backup. i have to buy another one today to backup again so i at least have two backups. i tried to delete a ton of files last night to free up the 30 gb of space i need to get my full library back on my mac. i have 90gb free and deleted 7 years worth of photos i had on picasa that were in my "pictures" folder and also a ton or random photos and videos i had in that same pictures folder and thought that would give me the 30 gb but it hardly freed up any space at all! do you know why that is? all of this stuff is really a pain and really stressful. thank god i did have a backup in the first place but now i am panicked the one i have left will somehow crash. especially after my husband dropped the drive lastnight! it didn't fall far and fell onto a wood floor and seems fine, but after my older ext drive crashed yesterday -- and i lost my entire iphoto library a fewweeks ago off my mac -- i feel cursed. any answers you have would be great. thank you.

I don't take my iPod classic anywhere anymore because I listen to music through my iPhone. I still listen to my iPod at home though through my Sony speakers with a charging dock.
Can I just leave my iPod classic on that dock? Will the constant charging destroy my iPod and its battery? Thanks.No, it will be fine. I have an iPod Photo from 2005 that I keep in my car and it is connected to the stereos dock connector 24/7. The only time I bring it in is maybe once every 6 months when I remember to load new music onto it. There were a few times when I briught it in and used my Classic in the car and left it out there as well, even in the freezing winter temps. never a problem. I also drive that car only once a week.
I did bring it in a few weeks back and spent a few days using it to test the battery. It still lasts as long as it did on battery power as it did when I bought it. The battry icon always shows as charged when connected so it mush have a circuit that prevents the battery from being damaged. My iPod Classic was the same. -
I have a new MAcBook Air and my photos don't fit on the internal hard drive. I want to store my photos on an external hard drive which I will connect to my Air when using Iphoto. How do I set an external hard drive as the default drive in Iphoto?
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

I changed my AppleID password this morning and now I can't load gift card numbers into iTunes to download music. The system takes me to the account settings screen to verify those and when I click on DONE, it takes me back to the password screen and I start over. This becomes an endless loop. What now.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with gift card issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you can't redeem your iTunes Gift Card or code
Contact iTunes Store Support
If the code is completely scratched off or you still can't redeem your gift card, contact iTunes Support:
Go to the iTunes Store support page and choose your country.
From the menu on the left, choose Contact Support.
Click Contact iTunes Store Support.
Follow the instructions.
iTunes Store Support might ask you to send these things:
Image of the full front and back of your gift card
Sales receipt showing when your card was purchased
Serial number from your gift card

IOS 8.2: New photos don't appear in camera roll
Hello,
I am using the latest iOS 8.2 on an iPhone 6. Very often new photos don't appear in the camera roll. As if they were never taken!
Funniest thing is: in the camera app I can see the last picture in the bottom left but when I click it the camera roll shows me the photo taken before that (so it doesn't show me the one which is shown as a small preview in the camera live view).
Any way to clean up this mess? I tried resetting the phone and restoring an iTunes backup w/o success. Thanks!!!
Cheers ArgentinosOk, so I got my pictures back, the ugly way though. What I did:
- made an iCloud backup of my phone (only 2GB instead of the earlier 4GB, because the camera roll was empty)
- restored my last iTunes backup, this was a month old. It was made right before i upgraded to iOS5.
- My pictures were back on my iPhone so i downloaded them to my PC.
- Then I restored the iCloud backup from my phone. The one I made before I restored the iTunes backup.
The pictures where gone again, but at least I had them on my PC.
I don't trust iCloud backups anymore. The backup itself holds all your settings and remembers which apps and data you had installed. But it went wrong when it had to redownload the pictures from the cloud. It was a hard lesson learned. From now on I'll backup my pictures once in a while. I was used to what Apple promises: that everything "just works". No, it doesn't. -
Photos don't show up in file name order
Photos don't show up in file name order on the iPad. Is there a way to do it?
Apparently from reading other forum posts Apple iPad sorts photos by the date stamp.
Clearly this is not suitable or feasable for people with large photo collections. Currently only people with Apple OS (iPhoto can create a sort order).. The rest of us with Windows based systems are left high & dry.
Does anyone know how to report a bug / problem to Apple ? They have no way of contacting them via email.
They need to have the sorting option in iTunes or within the iPad software itself... ie. Allow sorting by file name, etc. -
In the photos app I have 2 camera rolls and 1 photo gallery. Each new photo that I take gets stored in one of the camera rolls, but when I back up the photos to my computer it only backs up the one camera roll, and not any of the new picks. In the one I backed up I have 500 plus photos and the other over 1000. I need to back up the 1000 one- camera roll. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Help .... Please

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I'm having an issue with iPhoto that has started this last week. I was hoping it would go away after a couple days, because it's acted flaky before but then somehow fixed itself. But this time, it didn't, and it is sort of a big deal. That is, my photos don't show up in iPhoto anymore when I try to view them.
It appears they are in there, and indexed, and the thumbnails show up. But when I go to view them, they are totally blank. Every one of them. But they seem to have retained tags of where the faces are.
For a photo viewing app, it would be useful if I could view a photo. Any idea how to fix this problem, or have I lost my photos for good now?Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.
3 - If necessary repeat with Option #1, Repair Permissions.

What is the file extension of your photos ?
In Lightroom, there is no special way of opening a RAW file vs. JPEG. They all open the same. What is the Lightroom behavior ? Can you post a screenshot ? -

I'll be picky here on nomenclature ;-)
Tables and other Obects can be locked, but Sheets can't be locked.
If you wish to shield some parts of your content from accidental modification, arrange your layout to put that sensitive content in tables separate from the tables that need to be accessed, and lock the sensitive ones. It's also possible, but rather clunky, to place shields over the sensitive area. A shield can be made by Inserting a Shape and positioning the shape over the sensitive area. With the shape selected, go to the Graphics Inpector and set the Opacity of the shape to zero. You will then be able to see through the shape but will no be able to Click through it to get at the cells below. This method is inconvenient because you have to worry about keeping the shape aligned with the table should the table need to change size or shape.
