6.0.1 can extract audio, 6.0.2 can´t.

Version 6.0.2 does not allow to extract audio from a video clip within iTunes. 6.0.1 did (MP3, AAC, etc.).
Is this a bug or does Apple not want us to do so?

could be either one, just downgrade or now and see what 6.0.3 has in store for us. i've had so many problems with 6.0.2 its not even funny.

  • Aperture claims it can trim audio clips, but I can't find the controls!

    I can't find the audio trim clips editor that the help menu claims is part of Aperture.
    does anyone know how to do it?  I can't get mine to work.  Am I doing it wrong?

    The trim button is only available, if you view your Audio in the Viewer, not when you are editing a slideshow, as the paragraph in the manual says, that Frank pointed to - I think you may be referring to this paragraph of the help:
             Editing Audio Clips in the Viewer
    But while you are editing a slideshow the trim button is not available, and you can only trim the end of the clip and shorten it this way.
    You will have to trim the audio you have imported to Aperture in the Viewer, befor using it with your slideshow, or to set the start time in iTunes, if you are using audio from your iTunes library - in iTunes you can set the start time in the song Info Panel - in the "Options" tab.

  • Extracting audio from many clips at a time

    I have to extract some audio from many many video clips, so I was attempting to do it in one step, but Logic extract only from one clip at a time
    So I'm thinking to use Audio Converter (it can extract audio from many clips in one step), but it ask me the AIFF encoding Bitrate (among 64 and 192 kbps). So I'm wondering... but Logic which AIFF bitrate manages???

    yes, it is possible. Infact, it is the normal practice to add those 10 roles to that single user in SU01 direclty.
    and as I said, user comparison should be scheduled normally in SAP system landscape to do the things automatically, however not immediately but after some time.

    If you want user comparison immediately, then you need to do it manually in the role.

  • How can I import "extracted audio" clips from iMovie project into iTunes?

    I imported my home video into iMovie HD 6.0.1 and extracted the audio. How can I get the extracted audio clip (aiff format) into my iTunes playlist?

    Genny,
    I just tried to answer your question over in the iMovie forum. Have a look over there.

  • How Can I Replace An Extracted Audio Track?

    Yup, after I have extracted an audio track from the video track how can I replace it? Dragging & dropping isn't working neither is cutting & pasting. I wasn't able to find any info on this at all. Please don’t tell me it's irreversible. AAUUUUUUGHH!!

    ibblefum,
    The extract audio command copies the audio from the selected clip and place it on the one of the two audio tracks. It then sets the audio in the original clip to zero.
    To restore the audio in the original clip, just select it and raise the level back to 100%.

  • Extract Audio  - Can I Reverse??

    I have attempted to make an imovie and have run into so many problems that I am just about ready to give up. In an attempt to get rid of an "airplane motor" sound in all of the transitions, I followed some advice from this board and extracted the audio, deleted the transitions, red-added the overlap transitions to all of my movies and now the sound does not match the clips. A new "clip" will start but with the audio from the privious clip. Do I have to start from scratch? I am trying to make a simple movie from MPEGS in iPhoto with transitions in between each one. My clips are pretty short so I don't want a transition that will cut off too much of the audio. Any advice?

    Oops I meant Quicktime movies. Can you help me out? Can you give me the simplest, step by step guide to bringing my Quicktime movies from iPhoto into iMovie and then create simple transitions (that don't cut off a lot of the clip/audio) which I then will bring into iDVD to burn a movie. THANK YOU!!!!!!! this has been a painful process! What should I set the video format to? maybe that has been the problem all along!!!

  • TA25603 I can't find the advanced menu in order to extract audio.

      I'm using iMovie '09 and I have Advanced features turned on.  I am having issues syncing up audio and video with a few of my clips.

    I know how to detach the audio.  I am having trouble syncing up the audio and video for some clips in my movie and one of the suggested things to do was to extract audio and use the audio as one separate track.  I don't know where I find "extract audio."

  • How to split video and extracted audio clip at same time?

    I imported 10 min of DV from my Sony HC96 camcorder to iMovie 6.
    I selected a video clip and split it using cmd-T but the extracted audio clip below it did not split. How can I split both the video and underlying audio clip so I can drag the edge of the new video clip for editing by direct trimming and keep the audio dialogue in sync. I have already gotten the clip volume levels right in the extracted audio.
    This seems pretty basic editing but I must be missing something.

    Thanks, Sue. Let me see that I have this right. I split the video then the audio. I then selected and trimmed the video to the remove the 10-15 seconds I wanted to remove. To keep the dialogue in sync with the speaker's lips, I then selected and trimmed the audio to the same time as I trimmed the video. Then I dragged the audio clip back up to the new start of the trimmed video clip. I did this and the dialogue and lips seem to be in sync.
    I guess originally I had looked for a solution where I cut both clips at the same time and trimming one trimmed the other. But now I see I just need to do them separately. Thanks for the help, Sue!

    Hi Ralph:
    You can't do both at the same time, but you can do
    them one right after the other. Highlight the audio
    and split it after you split the video and be sure to
    keep the playhead in the same position.

  • Extract Audio Problems

    I am having a frustrating problem with iMovie. I am trying to make a video with sound playing over still images, bu every time i try to extract audio from the video i have, it will not work. It loads, taking 7-12 minutes, and then when i substitute the video clip for the photo, the sound does not show up. Why is this happening? The video footage, by the way, was shot with the built in iSight.

    I'm not quite certain, from your description, of exactly what you're trying to do..
    If you want to insert still photos in place of some of your video, first do what Bengt suggests, in order to extract all the audio from your video, which will put the audio in the Audio Track underneath the video.
    Then, if you want to insert a photo which is in your 'Clips Pane' within the "media" section on the right-hand side, do the following:
    (a) Choose the photo from your Library, and you can choose whether to tick the 'Ken Burns' box or not (..ticking it will apply a "zoom" effect to your photo..) then click the 'Apply' button. That generally adds your photo to the end of your movie.
    (b) With the photo still Selected (..i.e; it has a blue highlight over it..) hold down the Apple key and press 'C' to Copy the photo.
    (c) Position your Playhead where you want the photo to be inserted, and on the top-line menu choose 'Advanced' and 'Paste Over at Playhead' ..or just hold down the Shift and Apple keys and jab 'V' to Insert.
    The photo will now be inserted to replace the same duration of the original material in your video track, and the original, extracted, audio will be preserved.
    If - on the other hand - you're trying to insert some video to replace a photo, just do the same steps, but Copy, position the Playhead, and then 'Paste Over' the video clip to replace the previous photo.
    Using those steps, the amount of original material which is cut out, to be replaced by the new material, is automatically calculated by iMovie, and you don't have to worry about making sure that you've chopped out exactly the right amount to match whatever you're replacing it with.
    The audio, benath in the Audio Track, should be entirely unaffected.
    NOTE, though ..that if you then apply any transitions [except 'Overlap'] between the original material and the newly-inserted shots - this applies to adding transitions in any circumstances - then the entire video track will be shortened by the same duration as the duration of the transition(s), so if you're trying to keep the picture synchronised to the audio, then, er, sorry, but it'll drift out of sync!

  • Extracting Audio From Copy-Protected DVD

    I am doing the audio mastering of a feature film I've made. I'm wanting to extract the audio of a DVD I purchased so that I can see the wave form, study the audio dynamics, and see if I can attempt to match some of the eq characteristics toward my own film.
    Does anyone know how to be able to, again, directly extract the audio from DVD material for this purpose? I not only have Logic Pro 7, but I also have Final Cut Studio and all the apps that come with it. I also have Peak 4, Toast 6, and Waveburner. Can I use any of these apps (if not Logic itself) to accomplish this taks? And if so . . . how?
    Thank you very much in advance for all the responses,
    Javier Calderon

    HI there!
    Right, the way i understand it, you need to get the macro (protection) off the DVD...well, there are ways to do that. I guess the best for you is a software that automatically converts VOB into Avi or Mpeg (both of which will have the sound embedded). Then you can convert such file into Quicktime Pro as .mov (or just use them as such in Final Cut and extract audio form video...)
    The only mac soft i know that does that is Handbrake, and it's a free soft, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it. Still, you may still have to bypass the macro, as I'm not sure Handbrake will let you convert a protected disc. There is another software that will delete data protection and zone info and create a folder containing the VOB. MacTheRipper is only for "backing up" purpose, and should not be used to rip DVDs, but since it's your own material, it's fine for you to use it.
    Still overall, this will be a lengthy procedure, seeing as you have to rip/copy/convert/extract.
    Have you considered playing your DVD off a DVD player and recording the sound straight into the computer in real time?

  • Adding transitions after extracting audio

    hello, does anyone know if you can add transitions or even certain transitions after you have extracted audio without affecting the synch of audio and video. in my case i needed to extract the whole audio portion, add clips, and now am trying to add some smooth transitions. thanks.

    Hi drjsv - no-one seemed game to offer a comment, and I have not got a segment of video to test in this way, and nor have I ever needed that fine degree of synchro. But you can trial it and then if it is not satisfactory, just undo the transition. Maybe you have done that already! I'd be interested to know the result.

  • How to make Audition automatically make separate "extracted audio" for each reference of a clip.

    Hi,
    I recently made the switch over to CC. When exporting a sequence from Premiere Pro to Audition in CS6, each clip in my timeling that was referencing the same source audio was assigned it's own "extracted audio." (i.e. - Lapel Extracted 1, Lapel Extracted 2, etc.).
    However, in CC when I bring it into Audition, all of my clips are only referencing the "original" extracted audio. I cannot find in my preferences how to change this. Am I making sence?
    How can I switch this?
    Thanks!

    If all you want is to create a backup of some file you can do:public class Foo
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Foo f = new Foo();
            f.createBackup("something.xls");
        public void createBackup(String inFile) {
            FileInputStream in = null;
            FileOutputStream out = null;
            try {
                in = new FileInputStream(inFile);
                out = new FileOutputStream(inFile + ".bak");
                int read;
                while ((read = in.read()) > -1) {
                    out.write(read);
                out.flush();
            } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            } catch (IOException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            } finally {
                if (in != null) {
                    try {

                        out.close();
                    } catch (IOException e) {

  • Use QuickTime Pro to extract audio from VCD

    Can I use QuickTime Pro to extract the audio from a VCD? after that, I would like to convert that audio file to an mp3.

    MPEG Streamclip is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
    For others with the same need, here's my workflow for Extracting Audio from a VCD:
    * Pop the vcd into a computer and open it up.
    * Navigate to the MPEGAV folder. You should see something like AVSEQ01.DAT.
    * rename that to AVSEQ01.mpg
    * Drag this new .mpg file into MPEG Streamclip
    * File/Export Audio . . .
    * Open up Audacity (optional)
    * File/Open . . .
    * direct it to the newly created .mp3
    * Trim off any extra audio (I didn't want the opening credits, etc. on the .mp3)
    * File/Export as .mp3

  • Extracting audio from short clips

    My previous post/question seems to have disappeared so I apologise for a repeat: I'm noticing (and this started happening just recently) that it takes now about 10 minutes to extract audio from even very short clips (10 seconds long, say). It used to be clip-length-dependent, now it's flat 10 minutes no matter how short the clip. It's driving me nuts because it's an enormous slowdown of the workflow.
    Anybody has seen this and knows about a workaround?

    it takes now about 10 minutes to extract audio from even very short clips (10 seconds long, say)
    Is the underlying media clip also 10 seconds? Or is it much larger and just edited down to 10 seconds?
    iMovie HD extracts audio from the WHOLE underlying media clip but displays just the part that is not edited off. So extraxting audio can take time when deailing with such clips.
    Do a test: Export the just the selected 10 second clip as Full Quality DV and import it back (so the media clip really is just 10 seconds). Then extract audio from that 10 second clip. Is it any faster?
