6.0os freezes on 9700 why?

did you guys notice that the 6.0o.s freezes when you try to veiw contacts profile pics? I mean on a 9700.. And solution guys?

I haven't seen that from others users who have upgraded.
Have you tried a reboot on the device?
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
If it continues, you might consider doing a back of the device using the Desktop Software and then deleting the Address Book and restoring it.

When I use the clone tool repeadedly i can no loger use my keyboard.
And that includes use for other applications.
I have to do everything manually by scrolling down the menu bars.
Also, I can't even type in any characters from the keyboard.

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke. Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people

try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Unless I am wrong, ErinW_VZW, the upgrade for advanced calling is NOT an app - it is a system update and therefore cannot be uninstalled. Kinda scary that you do not know this.
LLATOO - My advice to you is to perform a factory reset. Look under System Settings -> Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset. This will obviously delete your entire phone so backup what you need.

When I "print to video" FCP works well but suddenly freezes... why?¿

Hi everybody! I'm desperate right now, hope somebody could help me. I'm working on FCP 4.5 and when I'm done with my project I try to "Print to Video" and/or do it manually and all seems ok but suddenly FCP freezes (with audio still running) and I gotta start all over again... This never happened to me before. I'm doin' this with my iMac G5 (with AGP Video Card) and I can edit, add effects, transitions and even add photoshop images fine but when I want to "print my project" on mini DV I just can't do it "continously" ... any ideas? Is this a firewire drive? USB is no good for video.
If the external is a frewire drive, all your media should be on that drive while you edit. the final output should also remain on that drive.
Once you are finished editing and ready to record, export the file under Use Current Settings, Self-contained.
Then bring that into a fresh sequence and play it to tape for recording.

My Photoshop 7 freezes on startup--why?

When I try to open Photoshop 7, I get this message: "Updating Adobe Online components from Adobe.com

The computer freezes when the blue bar advances half-way. I can't escape, force quit, or do anything other than turn the machine off.
I've tried opening Photoshop without connecting to the net, and then I just get a blank.
I called Adobe about this twice. The first tech said that since Photoshop has an upgrade, previous versions no longer work.
I didn't believe that (for one thing, the new version has been out for a while now, and my v. 7 kept working just fine--until now). So I called back and got a different tech, who told me it was an Apple problem, not an Adobe problem--that my Photoshop v. 7 would keep working just as it had before if I upgrade to Panther.
I didn't really believe that, either, but I called Apple support anyway. The Apple tech told me neither of the Adobe techs' advice made any sense to him, and he referred me to this discussion group.
Can anyone help?

I'm sure glad that the Force Quit took and you were able to get to the preference! (I was wondering how we were going to get past that stumbling block if one of the methods I suggested wouldn't do it...)
I'm really kind of surprised that the Adobe tech didn't know about the issue. I visited the Adobe Forums and it's there in a couple of places, albeit somewhat obsure ones. Such is life...
Regarding preference files - they are generally located in two different folders on your startup drive. These files typically begin with "com." and have the extension ".plist" and are sometimes a cause of conflicts, hangs, etc., should they become corrupted. When you delete a preference file, it recreates itself the next time you launch the corresponding application. When it is recreated, it sets the application's preferences back to the original default settings, just as if it were launched for the first time after you initially installed it. You then can customize the settings as necessary or desrirable. These files are not limited to just application preferences, but cover a range of processes on the Mac.
You can find them by opening your "Home" folder, then opening your Library folder inside the Home folder, then opening the Preferences folder inside the Library folder. The files in this folder are called "user preferences". If you navigate there, you'll find the "com.adobe.photoshop.plist" file that WWJD referenced earlier. (Don't delete it now because your issue is resolved and you'd have to reset all of your Photoshop preferences.) I'd encourage you to take a look there, however, so you are familiar with the folder in case you need to access it in the future.
The other common location where preference files are stored is in the Preferences folder in the main Library folder that appears when you click on your hard drive icon. It's best not to mess with the preference files there, unless you really know what these files do, or one of the Members who does know recommends that you trash a specific file there. Again, I'd encourage you to take a look there so you're familiar with where it is.
I recommend that you boot to your install disc and run Repair Disk, using Disk Utility from the Installer's menubar. Forced/sudden shutdowns can sometimes cause drive directory damage, and you've had a number of forced shutdowns during your ordeal. It's good insurance to run Repair Disk whenever you have to shutdown with the power button, experience a power outage, trip over and pull out the power cord, etc. (I ran it a couple of times last night!)
Lastly, regarding Force Quit - it can sometimes be tricky getting it to actually force quit an application. If you run a force quit problem again, be persistent with it, trying repeatedly, or using one of the other methods I described (option key while clicking on the Dock's application icon or Activity Monitor). Power down only as a last resort. BTW - I apologize for not being clear when previously referencing the "Dock" icon.

I cannot seem to browse the internet these days without my pages just freezing. Then I get this error message.
I am really irritated that I cannot find a fix for this problem. Does not matter what browser I use, it happens on all of them. Would someone please provide a clear, and concise explanation on how to fix this problem?

Connecting to Access 97 Database sporatically freezes my application, why?

I have a program written in LabView 5.1 that interfaces with a DB to gather test data. This program was functioning fine for about 2 years and then all of a sudden started to have problems. There were no updates to the DB that I know of. The DB resides on a networked drive, the same one that it resided on for the 2 years it worked. Now I can sometimes (very rarely) get the test data from the DB without freezing. I have traced the program through and found that it is freezing on the SQLCIN.vi. This .vi is used in almost ever SQL function but it fails when the Connect.vi is using it. I have noticed that inside one of the Where Loops the DSN will not get passed to the Connect.vi about 3 times
and then it finally get's passed and finds the data. The connect will not fail when there is no DSN specified but if it is going to fail it will only do so if the DSN was succesfully passed in. Even with the DB residing locally this problem persists. I have also downloaded and example that someone posted to this site of how tO access a .MDB file and performing several Reads with this sample program that freezes as well. I suspect that it may be drivers that are the problem, I am running on an NT4.0 SP5 machine, MDAC v1.5

I haven't used the SQL Toolkit in a couple of years. I converted to LabSQL when I had similar problems. There's a couple of things you might try. First, if you don't do it on a regular basis, try compacting the Access Database or try some queries on a new database with only a small number of records. Second, try reinstalling Access. I had a couple instances where the local installation had gotten corrupted somehow. I also remember a problem with one of the NT service packs. You could try installing SP6 to see if that makes a difference. Lastly, MDAC 1.5 is pretty old. The latest version is 2.8 ubt I would try the other things first.

Itunes - freezing/not responding: why?

Anyoone else think that there is an increase in the frequency of Itunes freezing? It sure is happening with my Itunes over the last weeks. And twice in under five minutes, a moment ago.
Anyone have a solution to the issue? Certainly, yesterday's update made no improvement.

Firefox loads slowly and sometimes will freeze up. Why?

I double click on FireFox icon and wait and wait. Most times it eventually opens but sometimes it freezes up. I then go into Windows Task Manager and hit end process. When I restart, it seems to load quickly. I am running Bit Defender Internet Security 2010 version 13.0.21.

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).<br />

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Why does the window freeze sometimes, and why can't I log on to my e-mail?

When I get my window and click on to Firefox, the comcastwidow opens. I then want to go to my e-mail. I click several times and nothing happens. Then I try to close the window, thinking I will start over, but the window freezes. There is no reaction to my clicking to close. Everything is frozen.

Well it works for me, am using the Firefox browser, there are issue with IE at the moment.

Why does my ipod keep freezing up when i try to turn it back on?

every time my ipod dies and i try to turn it back on it freezes up.. why? also every time i try to use an app it goes in and in like 5 seconds the app closes.. i've restored it but that only helps for a few days and then goes back to doing the same.. what can i do to make that stop or should i get a new itouch? it also freezed up when i try to reset it..

If it is still acting up after a restore, you more than likely nave a hardware issue.

Why can't I freeze a track?

I just got the software (hence my probably stupid question), I know in the future I will want to freeze tracks hence why I am messing around now, I just want to freeze an audio track (recorded from a mic) but there is no freeze icon, do I need to change view or something?

If you right click or option click the track where the buttons are, an option should pop up allowing you to customize what is shown. You can tell it to display the freeze button, then just hit the button on each track you want to freeze.

I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.
Soft reboot :
1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
- Alt
- Right Shift
- Delete
2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.
Hard reboot :
1) your Blackberry device is on
2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
3) Put the battery back
4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.
