6.1.1 update is draining battery

6.1.1 update is draining battery can't back up the phone without 6.1.1 updating too!

I did find a fix online.  Delete your email account then turn your phone off for five minutes.  Then you can add back your email account.  I did this yesterday and it seems to have helped a lot.  Good luck

How to correct the battery issues as a result of the recent update

There has been one instance that I am aware of in which opening an app created a memory leak that drained the battery on iPhones. This was an app purchased from the app store and the issue was rectified by the developer with an app update. So is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No.
One thing that may cause unnecessary battery drain that some people don't realize is happening is multitasking. Starting with iOS 4, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G S have the ability to leave apps running basic background processes. This allows you to jump back to where you left off in that app. You may want to check your system tray to see if this is causing your issue.
    To empty your System Tray:
    1. Double click your home button. This will reveal your system tray. Flicking left and right will show you the apps that are still running.
    2. Press and hold one of the apps in the tray. This should cause them to wiggle and a red circle will appear in the upper left corner of those apps.
    3. Press the red circle with the minus in it and that app will stop running. It doesn't delete any of the app data or the app itself, it simply stops it from running any background processes.
    4. Repeat step 3 as needed until there are no more apps in your system tray.
    Hope this helps!

  • Heating Up & Draining battery fast on iPhone 5s after iOS 7.1 update

    Hi,
I updated my iPhone 5s 64GB to iOS 7.1 & it's heating up and draining battery so fast not to mention when I charge it , it takes longer time to charge!
I didn't have this issue before on the previous version. I tried restoring my iPhone two times & also rebooting my iPhone five times, but nothing works!
I've looked in other complaints and some of them suggested to switch off background app refresh and locations!
I didn't have this issue before and I won't turn them off because if the problem because of it then I should experience the same problem on the previous version and why would I turn it off? So what's the purpose of the phone?
My wife, my sister, my brother & my mom they got an iPhone 5 and they don't experience this problem except me!
My iPad Air and my wife iPad Mini 2( Retina Display) and there is no problem with the iOS 7.1 .
I've looked in other websites and found that there are other people experiencing the same problem. Apple should fix this problem ASAP!
Is there anyone experiencing the same problem and what did he/she do to fix it incase he/she fixed it !

I don't have any issues with my 5S on 7.1
Have you actually taken your phone to the Apple store and have them look at it?
Even if you don't want to turn off background app refresh,  you should turn it off and see what the results are.
also you said you restored twice, did you restore as NEW?

  • So my iPhone 4S started draining battery after recent update, battery got changed and it worked perfect for 3 days, all of a sudden the phone won't stay on unless connected to mains... Cannot receive any signal "searching" constantly. HELP

So my iPhone 4S started draining battery after recent update, battery got changed and it worked perfect for 3 days, all of a sudden the phone  shut down and now won't stay on unless connected to mains... Claims its at 100% battery but thats impossible as it was at 30% before it shut down randomly.
Cannot receive any signal "searching" constantly.
Turns off as soon as removed from usb ... wont stay on connected to laptop!
    HELP!

The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If an Apple store is not nearby, you can call AppleCare and handle an exchange under warranty over the phone. The exchange will be shipped to your door - someone must sign for the delivery so if no one will be at home, have it delivered where you work. You use the same box to return the existing iPhone back to Apple. Return shipping label and tape to reveal the box incuded - call the carrier with number incuded when the box is ready to be picked up. AppleCare will request a credit card in the event the existing iPhone is not returned within 10 days after the exchange under warranty is received.
Hardware can fail - it happens, which is why there is a one year warranty.

  • After Updating the iOS 7.04 on my iPhone 4s drain battery quickly on standby mode & also doesn't respond volume up button, why?

After Updating the iOS 7.04 on my iPhone 4S drain battery quickly even on standby mode & also doesn't respond volume up button, why?

My battery problem woes continues to persist.  Yesterday, I had about 85-90% battery life in the morning.  A couple hours later when I looked at the phone it was down to 65%.  At that point, I shut off wi-fi, bluetooth, and background app refresh.  I received one call shortly after that.  The call lasted about two minutes.  My battery was now down to 40%.  Another hour later, down to 16%!  Here's the kicker:  I plugged in the phone to a charger and it jumped to 65% in a matter of minutes.  I unplugged the phone and within a couple of hours it was back down to around 30%.  I plugged it in again and within 10 minutes it was up to 75%.
At first glance it looks very much like a hardware issue.  However, I never had this problem until I upgraded to 7.0.4.  Also, the above battery roller coaster ride isn't a constant.  That is, it seems that only sometimes this happens.  So...I'm thinking it's either an app running in the background eating up juice (though I have Background App Referesh turned off) or the iOS is buggy.

  • Lollipop update draining battery

Anyone else notice that the new update is draining the battery. I used to be able to go all day doing everything on my phone including watching a few shows on Netflix without charging my phone until bedtime but every since the new update I have had to charge my phone at least 3 times a day. Is this issue being looked at?

I agree that the problem should be getting fixed on the other end. I read the community forums, contacted LG who gave me a standard "we're sorry" and suggested contacting Google. I did and they suggested a factory reset. Did that and last Monday, and am back to losing battery like I'm running the space station. VERY disappointed in Verizon, LG, and Google. Really tired of being jerked around. Will look at other non Android phones.  Been with Verizon since 2003 and am losing patience with the run around.

  • Updating IOS8.02 on 4s,when service provider is changed or not available, phone goes to search mode, its drain battery very fast,it does not stop even in charging mode,it goes to zero.only get charged in Airplane mode.why?(with different Simcard)

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

  • Yoga 2 Pro Draining Battery Fast in Sleep Mode

I have a new Yoga 2 Pro with i7 processor. It works great and normal battery life is about 4-5 hours. But with a fully charged battery, i can close the lid at night triggering sleep mode, and wake up to an almost dead battery.
Why is this happening? It's really dissapointing and I'm going to return it if I can't find a fix. I'm on the latest BIOS with all current updates. I am not using Hibernate mode.
Closing the lid shoud not cause battery to continue to drain at normal usage rates.
I'm hoping it's the WINDOWS 8 software but I've tried all the settings I can find.

the OP said battery was draining overnight because y2p was not going into sleep mode. then op changed some settings and, as i understand it, now his y2p does not drain battery overnight because he pushes power button and it goes into hibernate mode before closing lid.
I would like to raise the issue of the difference between hibernate and sleep mode. I too find that if i put my y2p (and my mbp-bootcamp) into hibernate mode then my battery does not drain overnight. however, both my laptops drain the battery overnight in sleep mode... anyone have clear understanding of this? i've look at many articles on the web, but haven't found any that specifically indicate how fast sleep mode should drain batteries. I think my gf's mba-OSx also drains overnight in sleep mode and OSx doesn't even have a hibernate option (correct me if i'm wrong)...

It not the service pack mate, it the new Map 3.08 that comes with the OTA update. Or even worse, apparently 3.08 is embedded with the V25 firemware for N8.

  • 2.1 firmware update displays incorrect battery meter

After installing firmware 2.1 on my iphone I started noticing my battery meter displaying the incorrect charge level. I charged it in full yesterday, and this morning I still had more than half the battery meter. I checked 10 minutes later and the meter was now showing 10% left with the red battery meter.
I went ahead and charged it again , used it for a while and now noticed that the battery meter is not only showing the incorrect amount left (still) but shows a different battery status on different menu screens. Shows battery meter to be full in the home screen and half the meter on an app, email ,etc.
Firmware 2.1 has definitely messed up the meter!
inaccurate reading on the battery meter , someone else has to be experiencing this same problem.
let me know if someone else has this same problem !

try draining out the battery first and then recharge it, see if that shows an accurate. I had that happen to me on the 2.02 update. The battery meter was inaccurate. Like when i reached 20% it was actually at 50% when i plug it in to charge. So i did sent them a feedback about it. So I'm hoping that the 2.1 fixes this issue. So far my battery is showing at 100%.
Usually for me at the end of the day after a full charge in the morning, the battery meter would go down 1 bar. So i'll have to wait and see.

I'm having the same issue after updating to Lollipop. My Note 3 is constantly downloading and uploading data.. it never stops, which I believe is causing the battery drain. I booted up in Safe Mode to rule out if there was a third-party apps going rogue. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the issue.  I even tried a factory reset, which didn't work as well. I'm at a loss...
