6.1 corrupt carrier logo

I just updated to 6.1 on my factory unlocked iPhone 5 and instead of my carrier logo "Digicel", I'm getting "338-05" in the top left corner. I live in Barbados and it's a small regional carrier, so there are no carrier updates available through iTunes. Ideas anybody?

I talked to somebody I know at Digicel, she said she got lots of calls about this issue. 338-05 is the MCC-MNC number for Digicel, MCC being the Mobile Country Code (338, which is Jamaica where Digicel was first registered) and MNC being the Mobile Network Code (05, the identifier for Digicel). It seems every cell operator around the world has a unique identifier in this format to facilitate roaming - Google "338-05 Digicel" for more info, there are a few links. I guess the new ios update is for some reason not translating the number for Digicel. Now that I know what it is, I'm not too bothered by it.

the screen resolution is not right. the date, time and carrier logo are blue instead of white plus there are red lines.

Is the time zone set correctly in  System Preferences > Date and Time > Time Zone tab?
If it's set to automatically detect TZ, uncheck and set manually.

  • Carrier logo and signal bar dissappeared

    Hi,
My carrier just got LTE support for iPhone 5 and I received updated carrier settings on my iPhone. As soon as they were installed so that it says "Enable LTE" instead of "Enable 3G", my whole status bar on the left side disappeared.
No Carrier logo, but much worse, no signal bar or wifi bar. But I do have signal... When I switch on "do not disturb" they appear again but disappear as soon as do not disturb is switched off again. So I can browse and call etc, but the status bar is just missing...
If anyone has any advice, please help! I tried resetting the phone, as well as switching it off and on again. More than once. No change.
I even restored my phone from a backup I made yesterday before the network settings have been updated.
I would be very grateful for any help.
    Thanks
    THa

No I don't think its necessarily because of the 4G rollout.
My iPhone5 has a Orange/EE 3G sim card and contract.
This is what my theory is...
My iPhone5 is set to automatically select the best network. It can see the 4G EE network is available, but when it connects via my 3G sim card it glitches / nullifies the signal and just reports that weird 000-00.
Ever since I turned off 4G / LTE in settings I have not had the 000-00 error.
So now it isn't getting confused with 4G and 3G signals, it doesn't give the error.
So my theory is supported by my experience.
Out of curiosity, is everyone who is having this problem absoloutely sure they have 4G sims??? I got my iPhone on release day, as a new contract, assumed it was 4G and only found out after a customer service phonecall much later that infact the new contract I had taken out was only a 3G one despite it being a brand new contract with an iPhone5 (yet that was one of the selling points by Orange / EE.)

  • No carrier logo on the case?

If I buy an iPhone at the Apple store may I get one without a carrier logo on the case?

    No iPhones are carrier branded.

  • Missing carrier logo after 1.1.1 update?

I upgraded to 1.1.1 last night and I was just noticing the AT&T carrier logo is gone! I can place and receive calls, but no carrier logo! Is anyone else experiencing this? I have restarted the phone and the logo is still gone. I don't have my phone hacked or anything; just one ringtone that I used iToner to place on the phone.
Here's a pic, sorry for the bad picture quality...I'm at school and I just used photobooth to take the picture!
    CLICK!

Try removing and re-installing the SIM card. That might do the trick. I'm not speaking from experience, just thinking that is the only thing you have not done yet. Who knows, it just might work.

    Hiya,
My girlfriends iphone 5 sometimes loses all signal and the carrier shows as 000-00 rather than EE. Regardless of signal in the area, the only way to get a signal back is to restart the phone!
The phones not jailbroken or anything and is only about a month old. Its running the latest iOS.
    Any ideas?

  • How to find out what carrier is blackberry 8330 locked to?

    Hello,
I've got a bunch of BB 8330's. Some of them have carrier logos, so I know which carrier they are from. But others have no logos, so I assumed they were unlocked. If I go to Options -> Advanced Options, there is no choice Sim Card, so I can't checked whether it is unlocked.
However, I have a feeling they are indeed locked. I put a T-mobile card in, and it says that a mobile carrier is "CDMA Home Network". What does that mean?
Also, on the back of the phone it says "Qualcomm 3G CDMA", but all of them have that written, so I'm not sure if it's relevant.
Is there any way I can find out whether the phone is unlocked, or which carrier it is locked to?
    Thank you

  • Where can I ask for a carrier bundle update?

    Hi!
I have changed to a new provider in Germany called "Congstar" (discount provider of parent company T-Mobile Deutschland). But they themselves have now confirmed that all the problems (tethering doesn't work - it keeps looking for access and no carrier logo in the top left of the status bar) are down to wrong data in the carrier bundle. They say they can't do anything about that!
Isn't there a way to get hold of Apple and ask them to change it in their software or change it myself?
Thanks for the help in advance

I'm faced with the same problem and yet I'm still trying to understand what's going on..
With the Configuration Utility you may set the APN's for the mobile Network, but these  already do running well by default. It's the APN's for Tethering and MMS, wich doesn't do, plus no carrier-logo as well.
And it's not that the Tethering-option gets disabled by that bundle. Instead, the service keeps steady running, looking for a chance to switch on and drains power for nothing.
The most annoying thing is, that congstar generally allows Tethering. On any setable device it'll work. Without a specific carrier bundle, iOS wouldn't hide the manual settings.
So obviously, congstar is just not able to change anything about their bundles, if the big T-Mob-Mama don't want them to..
A workaround, to make the Tethering-option swichable with a constar  SIM, is to put in a current T-Mobile microSIM that allows the service.  After that, you can at least turn the service clearly off, even with  your congstar card inserted. When you try to turn it on, it will just generate a  wlan that other devices can't connect to.
In the end, it clearly seems like T-Mobile decides about how you spend your paid bits and bytes with congstar WHEN you're using an iPhone.

  • How can I make my carrier name disappear?

I want my carrier logo in the top left corner of my iPhone to disspear. I see many of my friends don't have the logo, and I would like to change mine that way. How can I do it?

  • IPhone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g,In and Outgoing Calls

    Hi Everybody!
I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iPhone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working. After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either. The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.
When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all..
I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either,
Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services, but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim.
Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage, can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..
Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!
ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings, switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

    1. In order
    2. ...... everyone is pointing on the other and i cant do anything about it..just the whole 3g/call failed stuff is bothering me...
    2. It appears configuration issue. I use three iPhones (in my family) on four unsupported carriers. Never had any problem except on one. Outgoing calles to one particular party failed. Set right by Carrier.
    3. Is there something like the Unlock process was not fully succesfull...
    3. Never heard. It is digital : Yes or No. In the instant case, unlock is successful.
Download firmware afresh via iTunes or from here iPhone4,1_6.1.3_10B329_Restore.ipsw
and save. Insert Telenor SIM in the iPhone. Backup. Option+Restore (Mac) Shift+Restore (PC) pointing to saved firmware. Reject Carrier updates, if any offered by iTunes. Setup as New.
    Observe.

  • Integrating Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address with a BlackBerry Internet Service account

Hi, I would appreciate some help from anybody that can.
I am a new BB user with a Curve 9300 and have been setting up my device. I have run into a problem and am at a dead end as far as solving it.
KB03133 at http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03133 describes what I am trying to do, my problem is as follows.
The KB contains 2 sets of instructions for achieving the same result, one, the first one to be done on the device and the second to be done on a PC.
In the first set of instructions, I get as far as step 4, step 5 shows an option "i will provide the settings" I dont have that option available, did I mention that the first thing I did when I took the phone out the box was upgrate to os6 and now I believe that this may have been removed as an option so; is there another way to manually provide email account settings on the device?
In the second set of instructions, going directly to the BIS web page, I cant get past the login page, I have tried to register, I have tried to login, I have asked service provider for passwords and I get one dead end after another, I cannot login nor create an account to login to the BIS web site.
I have managed to add two other email accounts and create a new one from the device using the BIS service on the device but as I understand it the device logs you on automatically and therefore I dont have nor need the password on the device.
Any help would be appreciated, after 10 years as a loyal Nokia user I am now hoping that the decision to move to BB was not one I will live to regret.
    Regards

When you go the BIS account on the PC, is this the place you were told to go by your service provider? My own has my carriers' logo on the page and they provided me with the login details whilst I was on the phone to them. It is THEIR responsibility to set up your BIS and to assist you.
Whether you try OTA or on the PC, you must have access to your BIS and when you finally get it, setting up the email couldn't be easier.
I cannot see why upgrading to OS 6 would affect email set-up but as you suggest, the option to put email server details in may have been removed. They are not necessary with BIS.

  • Second iphone not working as it should

Hi, i posted some days ago about my iphone having white screen of death on my iphone after 3 mins of usage, to make a long story short, i got a new iphone. But this time there's something wrong with the touchpad, it just stops working from time to time, especially when ure using some app and then pressing the home button back to the menu, thats where it stops the most. Not responding at all, sometimes it wakes up by pressing the home button twice(go to search and back to menu).
What to do?! Should i return this one aswell and just hope that the next iphone works?
Wonder how many iphones it will take before i get a 100% working one.

Tamara is right. Try a reset. If that doesn't work, try a Restore. However, I would restore as a new phone first, regardless of Apple's advice, since there may be something corrupt carrying over from a previous backup. I have upgraded and restored several iPhones, always as a new phone, and never had a problem.

  • Purchased used G3 Vigor; SIM not recognized at all?

This is my first time ever using a wireless forum to ask a question, but I figure since it's a Sunday evening and all the stores are closed, it's worth a shot asking for advice here before tomorrow! Yesterday I bought a used LG G3 Vigor (model D725) with plans of replacing my Galaxy S5 because it's been a disaster ever since the Lollipop update. The G3 has Kit-Kat on it, so I figured I have a few options before updating that to Lollipop later, but anyway, I noticed that the device doesn't recognize any SIM I put in to it. I've tried three so far, and it doesn't recognize any of them. I tried cleaning the SIM slot contacts and factory reset, but still nothing. The microSD card slot sits directly on top of the SIM slot, and it recognizes microSD cards just fine. So, I obviously can't use this device because of this and I'm guessing I got ripped off at this point because I wasn't told the device had any issues when I bought it yesterday. So, I wanted to know if anyone has any experience or advice on how to approach AT&T with it? I know the Vigor was released in September of last year, so it's still definitely under one-year warranty, but I wasn't sure if because I bought the phone used that the warranty wouldn't apply, or if the phone has to actually be registered active on my account before AT&T would look at it, which I obviously can't do because it won't read my SIM. I figure it could easily be repaired since it's still under warranty and the device itself is mint - like, not a single blemish and the water indicators are intact. I just wasn't sure how to handle it since the device technically isn't on my account yet. Any help would be appreciated before I visit my local store tomorrow. Thanks in advance!!

When you boot the Vigor, what carrier logo is on screen?
If it isn't ATT, I suspect the phone is locked to another network.

  • Target disk mode os install

my girlfriends ibook's hd died so i replaced it today.
i fired up a 10.4 disk and checked the hd with disk utility and it seems fine then i tried installing 10.4 but it seems to be an upgrade dvd and it tells me i need to install 10.3 first. when i put the 10.3 disk in and power-up holding c the apple screen comes up then it goes a bit wonky as this guy also described: http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-182319.html
seeing as the 10.4 disk loaded up fine i'm guessing the drive just doesnt like the 10.3 disk so i tried doing it in firewire disk mode from my macbook pro but the dang 10.3 disk wont run at all on it!!!
if i try the firewire method using my friends powerbook do you think i'll be able to install ok?
    ta
    t

    Hi
It depends what "the 10.3 disk" is. You should use either the original OS X install disks that came with the iBook, or a retail copy of OS X which has a version later than that which came with the iBook.
Depending on the model of iBook, this version will differ - some were installed with 10.3.0, some 10.3.3 or 10.3.5, and the last model (1.33/1.42) came with 10.4.2. You will not be able to install a version earlier than this since it won't have support for your hardware. This will result in the corrupt Apple logo that the other thread describes.
For similar reasons, you won't be able to load a 10.3 disk into a Macbook Pro, whether you're attempting an install into the internal or a Firewire drive. As for the Powerbook, again, it depends on the model, and what the computer originally shipped with.
