60 Fps video repeating Frames?

I have a clip in After Effects CS5, its 59.94 Fps, in a 59.94 fps Comp. the video playes back very strange, every 2 frames or so, it repeates a previous frame.
Here is an example, it goes, 1-2-1-2-3-2-3-4-3 ect...
Can anyone help me solve this problem? Thank you!

Where did this footage come form? What camera? It sounds like the footage is actually 24P footage that's being interpreted as 60i. Try interpreting the footage as 29.97 separate fields (lower first if it's DV upper first if it's HD) and remove pulldown. AE should be able to guess the proper cadence.
If the footage is edited and contains more than one shot it is very likely that you will have to cut it into separate clips and figure the cadence of each shot differently.

  • 60fps Video showing Jittery/repeat Frames?

I have 59.94fps video in a 59.94fps comp, the video is 720p and is recorded from a HD Capture card. When I put the clip into After effects cs5, I get a strange jittery, repeat frame effect. It is only in a couple parts of the clip, but the strange thing is, in anyother video player/ editing software, it is fine, no repeat.
Basically what im getting is this, every so often, there is a jitter in the video, like so, it goes Frame 1-2-3-2-3-4-5-4-5-6-7-6-7-8-9. Its very annoying and renders the video usless. The video is .mp4
Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Repeated Frames at the end of clips

I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
    Here's what I've tried:
I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
    Here's what did work.
There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
    What the heck!?!?!
    Thanks

    What are these clip exactly
Please post a screendump in treeview.

  • Repeated frames when time remapping AVCHD clips in AE

I will try to explain the best I can. Keep in mind I am a novice and by no means highly technical. First some background: I edit sports video for college bound athletes. I put together highlight videos for them. When I am filming I start/stop the camera at the beginning/end of a play so I can easily identify/edit "clips". I have imported 10 AVCHD "clips" from my Sony HDR-SR11 to a Premiere Pro CS4 project. I am using the "AVCHD 1080i anamorphic/29.97fps" sequence setting as my output for this project will be a 1440x1080 mepeg2 file. So I get my clips in the timeline add some transitions, no major edits, render the work area and playback. Everything looks fine, all clips play smooth. Now here's the rub. I want to freeze play, highlight an athlete then continue play. To do this I am using AFTER EFFECTS (NOTE I have done this with HDV footage off my Canon HV20 camera with no problems) so anyway with the new CS4 edition I can right click on a clip in my timeline and choose "replace with after effects composition"....I do and the clip migrates to AE into a a composition ready for me to work my magic. So my method for freezing play is select the "clip" in the composition, Ctrl-Alt-T for time remapping. I add 5 seconds to the duration of the composition since I am going to add time when I freeze the clip. I find the point in the clip where I want to freeze it. I place a "time remap" keyframe at that point. I then drag my mouse to highlight the keyframe I just placed and the keyframe at the end of the clip......I drag them to the right 2 seconds, then cut/paste the keyframe I added which is placed by the CTI (which is still at the original point). Now I have a 2 second freeze in play. I add a white solid and do some masking to highlight the athlete during that freeze. And that's it.....I press "O" then "N" to define the work area then I choose "trim comp to work area" from the composition menu. I repeat this process to all my clips and here is where I see the problem. I go back to my timeline in PP and I play the clips......I see my freeze/highlight edits from AE just fine but on SOME clips......2 out of 5 for example.....I get jittery playback. So I decided to scrub thru the clip frame by frame to see what is going on. So within 29 frames this is what I see. Girl is getting ready to serve a volleyball....Frame 1-15....she steps forward to serve THEN at frame 18 she pops back to the starting point...IT LOOKS LIKE FRAMES 1-12 ARE BEING REPEATED. I scrub the rest of the clip and this happens at random points....a small block of frames gets repeated throughout the clip which in the end looks like "jitter" or "jumpy" motion. I follow the same workflow in AE for each clip BUT this "jitter" does not happen on every clip...only some. So is my workflow at fault or is AE/PP/Adobe still buggy when it comes to working with AVCHD codec?? Anyone else experience this, if so do you have a fix?

I haven't tested your theory yet Andrew but I did do this. In trying to track down exactly where these repeated frames are occurring. In AE I redid one clip that was repeating frames. I went frame by frame in AE and see no repeated frames. These changes should occur automatically in PP since the AE comp is still dynamically linked to my PP timeline. So I scrubbed the "source" (AE comp) file from the PP project panel frame by frame. And low and behold there are repeated frames, so it appears the problem is the handoff from AE to PP Sooooooo, ok I deleted the source file in the PP project panel and reimport it via dynamic link. Open the clip in the source monitor and yes...repeated frames at same point....recheck the comp in AE....no repeated frames. Delete the clip from PP project panel and this time import the clip directly instead of dynamic link.....repeated frames still there. So how about rendering the clip in AE the old fashion way then import to PP. AE Render Queue best settings - lossless.....blah blah blah. I ended up with an .avi file with no repeated frames. So to me the problem is the handoff between AE & PP. So rendering my AVCHD comps in AE first is my work around for now. Andrew...thanks! I will try your theory of converting the clip prior to the comp asap...right now I am trying to meet a deadline.

  • Repeating Frames Prior to a Transition

    Hello All,
I'm sure it's something that I have overlooked, but I'm going to need some help. I have a DVD of individual clips I want to make into one longer project and include titles, transitions, and chapter markers. So I ripped (legally...their my clips) these clips off of the DVD via Handbrake. Handbrake encoded them in .m4v, so through Streamclip I took these clips and converted them to AIC/.mov/48,000. From there I imported them into FCE to edit.
I had no problem putting the project together, but at each transition (all of the transitions are Fade In Fade Out Dissolve) about one second of the the clip prior repeats. So for example if the end of a clip goes 5 6 7 8 9 (where the fade begins at 8), 6 and 7 reappear as the transition starts. This appears on all of the clips and all of the transitions. One interesting thing is that when I scrub through the transitions, this repeating does not occur.
My Easy Setup for this is:
    Format: NTSC
    Use: DV-NTSC
Item Properties for a representative clip:
    Type: Clip
    Creator: Quick Time Player 7
    Vid Rate: 29.97
    Frame Size: 720x480
    Compressor: AIC
    Data Rate: 3.0 MB/sec
    Pixel Aspect NTSC
    Field Dominance: Lower (even)
    Composite: Normal
    Audio: 1 Stereo
    Aud Rate: 48.0 KHz
    Aud Format: 16-bit Interger
Any direction as to what I have missed would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marc

You have an AIC clip in a DV Timeline!!
You need to change the FCE Easy Setup to match the AIC Streamclip converted files, audio and video properties.
Then you have a chance. At the moment the field order is back to front.
If you have to render all the Timeline when a clip is edited to it, there is a mis-match issue somewhere.
    Al
    Al,
When I saw you answered I thought I would have a "duh" moment, but I'm still not clear. In trying to understand what I have done incorrectly let me be more specific.
I have two sequences with identically converted clips. When I began working on sequence #1, I set the Easy Setup as I described, but FCE said that the sequence did not match the clip...do I want it to. I said yes. I finished this sequence and it played correctly. I did the same thing for sequence #2, but this sequence plays with the repeated frames during the transitions. The Easy Setup still shows the DV-NTSC setting.
So I have two sequences that I set up the same way. One plays fine and the other doesn't.
In neither case did I need to render the clips after I put them in the Timeline. I'm assuming this is because I converted them prior to importing them to FCE.
If there is some other piece of info I'm missing that would help, let me know and I'm happy to get it.
    Thanks again,
    Marc

  • 24 fps video does not play in CS5.5 source monitor without choppy motion

Problem: 24 fps video does not play in CS5.5 source monitor without choppy motion. 30 frame will play fine. I took the same 24fps shot, using the exact same setup parameters, and played it in my CS5.0. No problem. I did them side by side and checked to make sure everything was EXACLTY the same. The 24fps shot played smoothly in the CS5.0 source monitor. Can anyone tell me what the solution might be to get the CS5.5 to play smoothly? When I rendered it on the timeline in CS5.5 it played smoothly on the timeline. Perplexed.

    Thanks Tood,
Here's the other info. I am running CS5.5 on a windows 7 ultimate 64bit (service pack 1) OS. All of the recent updates have been installed on both the OS and the CS5.5. The source footage is H.264.mov from a nikon d7000 at 1080p 24fps. My video card is an Nvida GeForce GTX285. My processor is an Intel Core i7 3.33GHz with 12GB ram. I am running no third party codecs or effects. I am using the Mercury Playback engine GPU accelerator. I am using a DSLR24 frame project setting.
Here is the problem: When I bring a 1920x1080 24fps.mov file into my DSLR24 frame project, or any project setting, in my CS5.5 and open it in the source monitor it plays as if it is trying to catch up; stuttering and skipping; it plays the same on the sequence timeline until I render it.  I get no error messages. When I bring the exact same file into my CS5.0, with the exact same project settings, it plays perfectly in the source monitor and on the timeline without rendering. When I bring in a 1280x720 24fps.mov or any other size file into my CS5.5 in any project configuration, it plays perfectly smoothly. Everything plays smoothly without renedering in the source monitors of my CS5.0 and CS5.5 except for a 1920x1080 24fps.mov file in CS5.5. The exact one that I need to play there.
I would have no problem cutting in my CS5.0 if it intergrated with audition; which is why I bought the CS5.5.
    Thanks,

  • Repeat frames

I've been working with the same footage now for a while and I've discovered that when I have a text layer (and some times when I dont), there are repeat frames... The video will stutter back 3 frames and then continue. the audio and video link is not noticably affected...
I'm working with a sequence of Apple Intermediate codec--- formerly HDV video... I'll explain more, but somehow I dont think thats the issue...
    please help!

At first my code was very robust. After each week I would get  new requirents. Addind new tests or asking to make major changes. I am current using frames to set up test enviroments and then executing the tests. This is a very frustrating experience for any programmer but very common. I have the the frames passing the test step. pressures PID control and modbus control. It has become a  very "kludging" software program. I do not like the VI at all.
I wrote two other programs using a 2d Array that is very robust. With the 2D array I can read the idex of an array and repeat that test by changing the index by -1. This seems to be the logical way to reat a test, continue or fail.

  • How to get the values from repeated frame?.

    Hi
how to get the values from repeated frame?. i have to disply the first 3 digits in another place in my report.
i have field empno in repeated frame and i want to disply first 3 digits in another place in the same report.
    thanks

How often do you need to display it? It sounds like you might want to base a summary on that formula with a function of first or last. If it's a per page basis, it can be a page level summary. If it's at a higher level repeating frame, then you can create the summary at that level. I'd suggest taking a look at the online help for summaries using the first/last functions.
    Hope that helps,
    Toby

    Thanks for any help!

    hi philipp!Thanks for your reply.
I am meaning that a have some text objects lower than a repeating frame which height is variable and i want to have the distance between the text objects and the bottom of the page to be fixed, instead of varying according to the height of the repeating frame. The text objects and the repeating frame are in a same container frame so i can't set the vertical elasticity of the frame to fixed.

How can I add a field to a Repeating Frame in the body of an Oracle 9i Report whose source is in a higher group?
I want to change an Oracle 9i report. The report has no header or trailer but only a body. The body has the parent frame fields & a repeating frame with four fields, A, B, C & D. They all seem to be in one group. I want to add another field E to the repeating frame whose source is from the 'header'.
I added the field & created a boiler plate & then added the new field, E to the original group A, B, C & D. In the Property Inspector for the field, I pointed the source to the source column in the main query. However, when I run the report, I receive the error "Invalid body size". Some notes on Metalink indicate that this could be due to margins being out of the printable area.
Moreover, after making the changes & after having unsuccessfully run the report, when I try to open the Page Layout for the report, I get no details.
    Thanks,

  • The same repeating frame ,but do not display in the same page

i create a report, with the same repeating frame, some of its content show in one
    page,others in another page,why??
    how to solve this?

    hi,
    try this code.
    ls_fieldcat-fieldname = 'LIFNR'.
    ls_fieldcat-seltext_l = 'Vonder'.
      ls_fieldcat-key = 'X'.
      ls_fieldcat-fix_column = 'X'.
       ls_fieldcat-outputlen = 12.
      append ls_fieldcat to l_fieldcat.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
       EXPORTING
         IT_FIELDCAT                        = l_fieldcat.  " Pass the fielc cat here
it must work.... and check out thels_fieldcat-fieldname  again.. you have to give the correct fielname in uppercase inside ' '.
    thankyou.

  • Is it possible to show the same repeating frame in 2 columns?

Hello, and thank you all in advance for any help!
    Here is the situation:
I have simple report with 1 repeating frame and 3 data columns in it.
I want to be able to have a second column on each page that continues the data from the repeating frame. That is to say, one the left the data would go from top to bottom like normal, then instead of going to page 2, it would go into a column to the right on the same page.
The repeating frame is small enough to fit at least 2 of them horizontally.
I cannot seem to find the way to make this layout work. Is it possible?
    Thanks again,
    -Arin

    Nevermind everyone!
I got it to work with Print Down/Across...silly me.
    Thanks anyway!

  • How to get the number of rows in a repeating frame ?

    Hi all,
When I launch a report from forms then sometimes there are data in the report and sometimes there are no data. And the problem is that when there are no data then the frame containing the repeating frame is still displaying and a blank page displays on the report.
So I want to get the number of rows from the repeating frame so that I can code a format trigger on the frame to display or not the enclosing frame depending on the existence of data from the repeating frame.
    Thank you very much indeed.

    Dear Friend,
You can achieve this. Define a summary column (say cnt). Select summary type as "COUNT". select any one of columns that are getting displayed in your repeating frame as summary column and provide "reset at" group name (or set this to report if you are defining this field at report level) . This "cnt" variable will contain how many records that will be fetched for your repeating frame (i.e. Group of Repeating frame). You can use this "CNT" variable in your format trigger.
In this case there is no need to write before report trigger or anything.
