  • Capacity of 30 gig video ipod battery

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the capacity of the battery for the 30 gig 5g ipod video. To clarify, i'm looking for a value in mAh, not in hours. There are more and more replacement battery kits becoming available for ipod videos and i was wondering how these replacement battery's capacity compares to the one in my ipod.
Thanks for the help in advance.

  • 30 Gig color ipod is completely frozen

I've had this ipod since June. Yesterday I would try to play a song and it would just start skipping to the next song in the play list. Nothing would play. I would select a song and it would just move from one song to the next in the playlist until it got to the end and then go back to the menu screen. I thought if I connected it to iTunes that it would work out the problem. I connected the iPod to my computer and not only did the computer not recognize the iPod but now the iPod is stuck on the "Do not disconnect" screen and I can't even shut it off. I have updated iTunes and iPod software and rebooted my computer multiple time. I have tried to reset the iPod but nothing has changed. Anyone else experiencing these problems and if so, what is the solution?

I reset the ipod but itunes still won't recognize it.

  • HELP ME!! ipod battery issues!!!!

    hello everyone,
i have just purchased an ipod, and it has been less than 3 days since i did. the problem is that i only had time for an initial charge of about 2 hours (half the recommended full charge time), as the power to my house cut out. it is a fifth gen 30 gig video ipod, with a lith-ion battery, and this should not be that much of a problem, as these batteries are less affected by a less than required charge time. anyway, i have realised that the battery seems to lose its charge strangeley fast. the max is about 4 hours! im really scared, because i dont want this thing to be spoiled before i even have a chance to use it... PLEASE HELP!!!! i need any advice on how to solve this problem, and i hear this is a common issue so you guys must know about it.
thanking anyone who helps in advance,
    cookieman

I believe you'll have to pay about $30 for shipping
If it's less than 6 months since purchase, there will be no charges.
I doubt they do anything in Pakistan. Fill out the iPod service request link posted and see.
If you have a friend going to the US, they could take it to an Apple store.
If they are going to be here for a few weeks, they could do service request themselves. It usually takes about 2 weeks from the time of request till it comes back.
If you are watching videos, for hours would be about the max time you will get.
If you are only listeneing to music, you should get more than that (14 hours on a 30GB). If you use the backlight, switch songs, amd stop/start all the time, you will get less.

  • Color ipod broken ?

I am looking for help. My son's 20gb color ipod stopped working. I tunes does not recognize it when it is plugged in on the USB. The ipod screen shows a black/grey charging type icon that briefly flashes or a frown face ipod and triangle. After looking at discussions, I have tried re setting several times, & downloaded updated software for ipod and itunes. When I get to screen that offers restore option, the window is greyed out and I cannot click on either option of restore or update. I tried charging through the AC outlet to be sure the battery was charged. I also tried to get it into disc mode with no success. Am I only left with sending it back ? It is less than six months old ! He did not drop it or misuse it.
Thanks in advance for reading a long post but I wanted to include that I had tried all the typical stuff w/o luck.

Carl: I have been reading a lot of the discussions and notice there are a number of you out there in cyberspace trying to help out those less experienced. I notice the tone of your notes and advice is patient, too. That is hard to convey in written text, but you and others do it. Because ipod problems are so frustrating and it is a 2 hr drive to our local genius store, you and your cohorts are really appreciated. I hope others join in reminding you of that sometimes.
    Happy new year.

  • COLOR iPod charging problem and resetting...

I have a 3 week old 20GB iPod color display, i have 2 other older ones, never had any problems... now I plug in the color iPod to the supplied USB charging cord and it appears to be charging and when i remove it from the computer it shows a full battery. After 30-60 minutes of playing the screen goes to the APPLE, flashes a bit, then the low battery icon appears and the thing is dead. If I hit reset, it stops the APPLE from flashing, but it's still dead. This has happened twice in 2 days... Anyone else have any charging problems? Can I plug this into my Firewire charging cord for my 3rd gen iPod to test the cord?

As long as your Firewire cable has a dock connector that fits your iPod it should work on it. Make sure that your iPod is plugged into the charger for 4 hours or until the iPod screen displays "Battery Charged" and shows a solid green battery, not a flashing one.
I've been having a similar problem to yours lately. Mine worked perfectly up until about 2 weeks ago. My battery drains itself completely within a few hours of unplugging it after being fully charged, so tomorrow I'm going to send my iPod into Apple to be replaced. So if you're sure that your iPod has been plugged in long enough to fully charge and you are still having this issue, you should call up AppleCare or go to the iPod Service Website to get your iPod replaced: http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Quite a lot of people with one-month-old 20GB color iPods have been having these same kinds of problems with charging. I'm beginning to believe that a bad batch of 20GB iPods was manufactured in July. Hope I helped.

  • 3G iPod Battery

I have a 3g iPod, the battery life seems to be getting worse. I've run the battery test on it twice, and each time it runs for about 6-7 hours. It doesn't seem to hold a charge though. It can be fully charged in the morning and without even using it much (maybe 2 hours) the battery is dead at night. Would this count as battery failure?

I have a 3G iPod that has kind of the same problem. I can charge it full and it will be dead in as little as 2 days of non-use. I have no alarms set and it is always turned off with the hold button locked so it cannot be accidently turned on. I can charge it one day and then use it about an hour the next day and the unit will shut off because of a lack of charge. At other times it will work just fine and give me a full 6 hours of use. I have never had it last more than 6 hours.
I sent it in for repair and Apple returned it and said nothing is wrong with the unit and mention that the battery display is about useless. I already knew the display was often way off and I never depended on it for charge/recharge cycles as I am very familiar with the care and feeding of batteries. I really love the design of the 3G iPod but it seems this iPod was a problem child. In fact my first 3G iPod was replaced because it did not charge correctly and would overheat and shut itself down when charging...it fact it was discharging.
When I can afford it I am going to pass this lemon on to someone else and get a color iPod after I hear there are no problems with it.

I want the original battery capacity in Mah because more and more aftermarket battery companies are marketing their replacement batteries. I want to know if they actually have a greater capacity than the current one in my ipod. I have currently seen batteries for salle that are for the 5G ipod 30gig that have 450Mah, 550Mah and 580Mah capacity. It'd be nice to know how many Mah my current battery has so i can compare.

  • Does the 60 Gig color have some huge flaw?

Ok, I'm fed up with it. I bought a 60G color iPod in the beginning of August, and I've had to return it three times for repairs so far. Each time I've gotten a brand new iPod sent back to me, and each time they've had similar issues.
I just got my FOURTH ONE and after less than two hours of play time, the thing has bricked. No power, mover folder icons, no unhappy iPod icons. Just a blank screen.
I'm beginning to wonder if there's just some serious flaw with the 60G model. I've never heard anything as such, but I also don't know anyone who has a 60G model. I just can't believe I've gone through 4 of them in six months. It just doesn't make sense!
    iPod Photo 60Gig   Windows XP

As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything wrong.
I load it up with about 15 gigs of music. It
    includes wav's and mp3's. I use it regularly. I
listen to it to and from work, and any time I'm in
the car, which is often. It probably gets at least
4 to 6 hours of play a day. I leave it to charge
and update everynight (as I have several smart
playlists that are based on number of times played)
I don't perform any weird functions on it. I just
use it for what it's for, a lot.
I'm going insane changing out ipods all the time.
I can imagine. Personally I would go back where you took the previous iPods and ask them for further information - I personally think they'll have more to tell than, maybe, anyone here. It does sound rather odd.
    Good Luck!

The iPod touch 5 battery won't charge, the iPod battery gets hot and doesn't turn on...  What is wrong?  Can photos and data be retrieved?

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. I suspect a hardware problem  due to the hotness. If iTunes can't see the iPod then uor only hope if to contact a data recovery company for getting data off the iPod. If you have an iPod backup you can restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from the backup to get the data that was in the backup

  • Do You Know Your iPod Battery May Fall Under Warranty Replacement?

I have the extended warranty on my iPod Touch. My batter life was horrible... without wifi just playing music getting just over 3 hours. I also had a bad MBP battery. Called up AppleCare and got case numbers for both after diagnosis. Was taking a long drive to an Apple Store with Genus appt the next day...
My name was called and my Genus re-ran the MBP battery check finding it at fault and went to replace it... I said that I was having an issue with the Touch battery as well. He said "You know that the battery is NOT covered under warranty!". I said NO, if a battery is faulty that it is covered under warranty. I told him that it was THE reason that I purchased the warranty... He argued with me about it and I just couldnt believe my ears... I said that all he had to do was go to the Apple site and find the Touch battery warranty description... He started printing out the MBP battery replacement agreement and we had another video test to run on the MBP... he went in the back to get a DVD.
As I sat there I started hearing all the genus say to every customer with a iPod battery issue say that battery replacement cost blah blah blah... no one was asked if they had a warranty or that if the battery was found to be faulty the battery replacement would be covered. One guy came in with his son saying the iPod was a Christmas present and the battery was only getting blah blah hours... Again, he was told that a battery replacement would cost $$$. It was surely under warranty but he was still charged! ***?
My Genus comes back and runs the video test with a Howdy Doody DVD, UGH... anyways... he goes back to return the DVD and comes back with something in his hand, unwraps a Touch and tosses it my way. I asked him what was up? He says that the original Touch battery is not replaceable so here was a new one. I said OK... thinking, why was he giving me one after arguing with me about the battery NOT being under warranty???
So, I guess it pays off to know your warranty with Apple products as the Genus wont offer the facts. Maybe this was just at the Cleveland OH Apple Store. So, wondering if you know that your iPod battery may fall under warranty and if this is a national fraud by Genus?
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB591LL/A#overview "3. Service coverage is available for battery depletion of 50 percent or more from original specification."

Will the data on my iPod be preserved?
No. You will receive a replacement iPod that will not contain any of your data, songs, etc. Before you submit your iPod for service, it is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the data stored on your iPod and reinstall that data. Please do not send any accessories with your iPod as they will not be returned.
Attention iPod touch customers: Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPod touch and does not offer any data transfer service.
Following service your replacement iPod touch may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need to restore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check iTunes to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.

  • Where can i get my ipod battery changed

where can i get my ipod battery changed

Apple does not replace batteries.  Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished 4 gen iPod with a new battery for $79 (free if it is still under warranty). Or google for replace iPod battery to find a local store or online shop that will replace the battery in your existing iPod for less. You can even buy a battery on line for $10-20 and do the replacement yourself if you are up to it.

  • IPOD BATTERY

Recently, just after the year period of course, my 4th gen ipod battery drained really fast. I got a replacement battery that is supposed to be better, but it still drains fast. It doesnt drain quite as fast, but if left unplugged overnight, I can not turn it on in the morning. I have checked the clock and the alarm, nothing is turning it on. I have tried reseting it and I have made sure that it is up to date on the software. What can I do? Does anyone know of anything else that could be wrong with it?

did you charge the new battery for at least 3 hours when you just replaced it?? and you may also try to restore your ipod and update to the latest software

  • No color on my new COLOR ipod

Why is there no color on my new color ipod?? The screen is EXACTLY like the old version.

Both Dave W. and Redmoskito are right. The Best Buy salesman gave me a non-color ipod, but they exchanged it right away (but it was thirty dollars more expensive). Thanks for everyone's feedback!

  • Loading DVD's on 80 gig Video Ipod

We got a new 80 gig Video Ipod for christmas and want to load our DVD's. We tried down loading a software that didn't work. Can someone make recommendation of an easy software that works, and since I am not real computer savvy any detailed instruction would be appreciated.

There are plenty of good free programs out there. Here is a link to a discussion on just that free programs for mac and windows. http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123067
You really do not need to pay for a program and if you do choose to do so consider another product then the one from that is recommended by Spammers... that would be cucosoft. They are all over these threads. There are also some great pay programs out there. But again, try the free ones first. Then if not do a search and you will find many, many pay programs out there from companies far more reliable then the one recommend by the SPAMMER on this thread.
Also another free program that works well is this one:
