600x bios update help needed

i have a 600x, well its my daughters, but having a problem with the sound from speakers, i would like to try updating the bios, but all the updates i can find are for floppies, this machine doesnt have a floppy drive, so is there any other way to update the bios.

First things first. Most likely a newer version of the BIOS will not address the problem you think you have. So, it seems there is another reason for the problem. In checking the specs for that model, it shows there to be a 300w power supply. That will limit the choices for a video card upgrade. What is/was the new card that you tried?
Next, I see that you have an Intel i7 processor. In many posts from users trying to the change the video cards on these type systems, it is a real problem. For whatever reason, ( I have not seen a resolution as to why ) trying to change the video cards and getting a performance improvement is troublesome, to say the least. The delicate balance between the video card and the processor on these is easily thrown off, I do not know the reason or the solution. Most users give up and leave it as is.
I know, not a help. I too, will track this discussion to see if there is a resolution so I can help someone else down the road. Good luck!!!

P6-2141eo Bios update, help needed.

So i bought a new graphics card, tried installing it and it wont work, and when asking around i have been told that what i need to do is update my BIOS. However, there are no updates available under the product page for my desktop, the p6-2141eo. What im wondering is if HP simply wont be suplying any more updates to my model anymore, and if so does anyone know where i would turn to find newer versions of the BIOS, if there is any?
The current BIOS is ami 7.16

Msi z97 gaming 5 bios update help

Hello I recently purchased the msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard. It was working fine it came with bios version 1.0 and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest 1.5 bios from msi website copied to usb flash drive and flashed it using mflash. Computer powers on but black screen wont do nothing. I cleared cmos and battery and still nothing so I am pretty sure its bricked. I am going to store to exchange it for another one but I want to be able to safely update the bios without bricking again. I usually dont update bios unless needed but i need at least 1.2 bios to fully support the devils canyon cpu. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I read about the usb flashing tool in forum but also read that bios+me need to be flashed and I don't know if that program is up to date and will flash both files? I really appreciate it if someone helped thanks in advance.

Also does anyone know if it is dangerous to update the bios with a 4690k devils canyon cpu since it is not officially supported until 1.2? Is that why my first bios flash was bricked? I would hate to go and borrow another cpu just to update the bios but if I have to I will. Sorry for all the questions but I need to get my bios updated and I will not update it until I am sure of all these things. Thanks to anyone who answers these questions.

Does anyone know the link for the msi x99s mpower motherboard bios updates ? i have the msi x99s mpower black and yellow motherboard i'm looking for the bios update link. because when i try to play game like csgo and h1z1 my game lags real bad and i know it is not the internet because i have tried 3 other pc on same line they all work fine and i even had my graphics card and hdd tested they all are fine so i am hoping it might be a bios issue

trust me i agree i talked to msi support and got no help they just kept telling me they know about the issuse and should have a fix for it soon, But yet i have seen many people say they have the same problem over 5 months now....... So i just talked to amazon and they said no problem they will give me a refund so now i need to find a good board to work with my i7 5820k 2011-3 pcu

P4N Diamond SATA Problem after Bios Update HELP!

I updated the bios correctly & now my SATA harddrive won't recognize.I put the drive in another pc (with the exact same setup..a p4n diamond etc) and it works no problem.The bios settings are set exactly as they were before the flash as i wrote them down!.
I have noticed there is an extra setting added in the bios ,something in the cell menu named CPU ratio unlock.
I have also noticed that my other pc (the working one) will no longer connect to the net if my network cable is plugged in my router from the pc with the bios update.As soon as i unplug the cable it connects.
I got the latest bios for the board is there something different in the bios from previously i need to do?
Like i says the bios settings i have put exactly the same as they were before the update.My windows (on the SATA drive) booted fine before the update and now it won't.
I updated the bios correctly and cleared cmos afterwards.Everything i should have done i am guessing i done.
Can somebody please help me on this.

Decided to reflash the bios to version 1.4
Now the harddrive is recognised but windows will not boot (blue screen before it boots with the usual to prevent damage to your computer etc etc)
I am now formatting the harddrive & reinstalling windows.It seems MSI have issues with bios updates for this board which they should maybe bring out a new bios fixing this problem as it sure is a problem.

RE flashing the bios.I did this to try and fix a problem with windows not turning off when shutting down.I pc does the other does not & both have the same board and now the same version bios & also a freshly installed windows.I noticed power options in windows are not the same.How can this be.The boards are the same.

Will BIOS update help wtih sound problem?

I have a problem getting sound working with linux on a 3000 (an N200 0769 in my case) that many other people have reported: sound only works with ACPI off.
I asked for help on the Mandriva forums and was told to check if there are any relevant BIOS updates. the readme for the latest BIOS does not list any changes to do with either sound or ACPI so it appears unlikely.
However, my BIOS reports itself (during bootup) as 2.03, and it appears to be 68ET31WW. This does not appear in the summary of changes in the readme which jumps from 1.02 to 2.02!
Does anyone know what has changed between 2.03/68ET31WW and the latest (3.03/68ET35WW)?

It hasn't helped my CMX 3200C2.. same issues as you describe.. no joy at anything other than slow...

T43 - BIOS Update Help

First time poster and I did the "search" funciton to find an answer but to no avail. I have exhausted all the things online that I can dig up and would appreciate some guidance.
I need to admit first and foremost, I am not as techy as I'd like to be. I just decided today to update some stuff to my Thinkpad T43 (LONG overdue...and I do mean long). I am still running on the BIOS version 1.01. Naive me thought that my laptop would update itself without me having to do anything.
So today, I updated my ThinkVantage to version 3.14 and was successful doing so. I then did a "system update" to get all the necessary and critical updates for my T43. When I tried to update to BIOS version 1.29, I followed all the necessary steps (listed on the Lenovo Support section). At a certain point (each time), I would get a BIOS Update Error Message "The system power management is disabled. The Process has been canceled."
I have no clue what this means. I went to my power management (in the Control Panel) and can't seem to find how I can "enable" it.
I could sure use some advise and steps in order to correct this issue and update my BIOS version.

My set up: ThinkPad T41 2378 DLU, running XP home. Current Embedded Controller version 3.01. Current Bios 3.19.
I am actually attempting to do a double update: Bios and Embedded Controller.
Lenovo's support pages are contradictory on which to update first (The Embedded Controller READ ME page states: "If you need to update the BIOS as well as the Embedded Controller Program, update Embedded Controller Program first." http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/1rhj10ud.txt ; while the Bios Update READ ME page states the opposite: "If you need to update Embedded Controller Program as well as the BIOS, update BIOS first." http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/1ruj37us.txt)
I have chosen to update the Embedded Controller first because of what I have read on the Bios Update READ ME page: "This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program Version 3.04 (or higher)", while the Embedded Controller page reads: "This version of Embedded Controller Program will only work with BIOS Version 3.13 (or higher)". I have the later not the former.
The embedded controller download page does not have a non diskette version, see http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS000738#. As you know, my laptop does not have a floppy diskette drive. In order to extract the 1rhj10ud.exe file I used the Virtual Floppy Drive (VFD) console. At the prompt I give the "start" command, followed by the "open" command to create a virtual floppy drive. All is good to here.
I run the 1rhj10ud.exe file by double clicking in my file browser. I am prompted to "Press ENTER to continue (read License agreement)". I go through the pages and finally type Y to agree to the terms. This takes me to a screen that states : "Insert a blank high-density diskette in drive a:. Press ENTER to extract,..." I press enter and get the following message: "100 percent Extraction Complete Press Y to do another copy" I press enter and the 3 1/2 Floppy appears in my file browser as (A drive. Inside A: I double click on the UPDTFLSH file which opens another dos window. I enter my "Supervisor Password". Then say "Yes" to the warning that I am about to update my Controller, and "Enter" after the next warning stating that the AC adaptor must be connected.
At this point I get an error message: "The system power managment is disabled. The process has been canceled."
I went back and rebooted. Went into the Bios Power controls and Disabled both the "Hybernate by Timer" and the "Timer wake with Batterh Operation" functions. And followed the above steps only to get the same error. In XP /Control Panel/Power Options Properties, I put the "Turn off monitor" and "Turn off disks" to "Never". Still the same error!
I do not know what to do now to carry on with this update. Thank you for any suggestions.

HP DV4-1114NR bricked by HP's own bios update help plz and thank you

Hello friends, I have a HP dv4-1114nr, I downloaded the Bios update from hp and guess what? it bricked the laptop. I have read several forums on how to fix this, i have gotten as far as attempting to restore the bios, renaming the bios and putting it on a flash drive... The windows+ B key is definitely the way to launch recovery, with my bios i am not sure what to rename the file and also is it a requirement that it be on a small usb drive and that it be FAT format only? any help would be greatly appriciated. I have been working on it for weeks now... Thank you and god bless..

If the HP_TOOLS partition is still on the hard drive, it may contain a copy of the original bios that was replaced by the newer one.
To recover the bios from the HP_TOOLS partition hold Win+B down while you power up, continue holding Win+B until you hear some beep(s) then let up, it may take some time to recovery and may show no signs of activity or mesaages.
If Win +B does not work try all 4 arrow keys.
Usually the bios file name must match the motherboard model number.

J2SE 1.50 06 Update Help Needed

I am struggling with Java installation on an XP SP2 machine. First off, I am not a developer or programmer nor do I write code beyond basic windows/dos/tagz functionality.
I registered here only after exhaustive and unfruitful web search and following 'normal' troubleshooting guidelines a Google search would produce.
So at the risk of having violated forum policy by posting here, I apologize. Here is the problem:
First noticed excessive error logging by Java applet while in Firefox 1.5. Cryptic messages didn't reveal much (to me), but I went through cleaning and reinstallation of latest Java software.
Problem has escalated to a point where any console related inquiry, whether through IE , Mozilla or Windows control pannel will either black-out monitor or freeze screen with very noticable degradation of video signal. This makes troubleshooting difficult! Running Dualview; 2nd panel shuts down immedeatly. While freeze may sometimes unlock after a few long minutes, secondary panel will not restart w/o rebooting.
Attempted 'clean' boot, lowered resolution ,changed hard ware accelaration and disabled write combining in multiple combinations without improoving results. Also signed in with different user profile.
XP patches are current (according to MS Update anyway) , install is fairly recent. BIOS to ASUS P5WD2 Premium is up-to-date (P830D processor, 2 GB RAM) All other hardware in my machine runs flawless. No RAID, overclocking or hazzardous Reg tweaks.
I am suspecting inter-relation between Java program and graphics system is causing trouble. Nvidea 6600 GT runs Viewsonic 20 at 1600x1200 and a Dell 18 at 1200x1084. I tried single modes and switched from DVI to VGA on both. Still no beans.
XP runs rather lean (by windows standards) Heaviest load after explorer and browser is generally software based KVM (Kazoom) . I disabled program during troubleshooting.
Error is repeatable in both Firefox and IE. Following links to 'test' Java installation generally results in same issue; either a black screen or freeze with degraded video signal.
I may have 'class path' issue. For one, it's not listed in sys prop variables! I do show PATH and PATHext. Local directories are not default (C:Temp; C:Data etc) but 'program' and 'application' directories are unchanged. No other managed installs complain (Adobe CS, Office 2003 Pro). Windoze Error log doesn't report Java problems of course.
In Java directory, I find PATCH.ERR file:

If statment is no longer correct we have to do this operation: XML_TRANSFER.POBOT - SUM(VALUE_ODPR) (INSIDE SAME TAX_NR!!! So group by tax_nr!!)
and update last row with given resoult. By no means we can get negative numbers.

HT1338 OS update help needed

I have a 4 year old macbook with OS X v 10.5.8. In order to use a new iPod classic, I have to update my iTunes. In order to update my iTunes, I have to update my OS to 10.6.8. I downloaded it but got a message saying that I can't install it unless I hhave OS X v 10.6.
I can't find a 10.6 update download.
Can anyone help? This is really frustrating.

Try installing iTunes 10.6.3. If that doesn't work, there isn't a download and you need to buy the upgrade on DVD.

Update Help Needed

When I try to update my 3GS, I get a window that pops up and says that my "network connection has timed out". I have been on the phone with Apple twice now and they have no idea what to tell me!!! So frustrated! Please help!

BIOS Update help, please?

I just updated my processor from an AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ and it isn't being recognized as a dual core processor in Windows. Everything else is working fine except for that. As I understand it, I need to update the BIOS to correct that.
I've been reading here and the MSI instructions and there seems to be several sets of instructions for flashing the BIOS most of which directly conflict with each other with instructions about extracting the BIOS file to a floppy or extracting it to the HD? Booting with a Win98 floppy or boot with a WinXP-prepared MS DOS floppy (I don't have any Win98 machines nor do I have any friends with win98 machines)? Using WinFlash? Setting jumpers (I don't see jumpers on my board Guide)?
I would so appreciate it if it were possible to get a single, coherent, set of instructions for flashing the BIOS so I don't completely hose my system?
I have overclocked or done anything else unusual. I do have RAID drives in 0+1 configuration and everything is formatted to NTFS, if that matters.
Hopefully everything else is in the signature. If other information is needed, please just ask.

Ipod touch 3.1 update help needed urgently
