6016 USB Linux

Hello
Is there any chance to use an NI 6016 USB DAQ under Linux?
Thank You
Kisbogyo

I think this is not possible. If you want to use USB with Linux try the USB-9215. That works although it is not documented.

    Note that NI-DAQmx does still support these devices on Windows XP 32 bit.

  • Questions about persistent USB Linux

    I'm looking into several options for loading Linux on a flashdrive, to have a custom desktop on the go, but I have some questions:
    Assuming I go with the persistent option(saving changes, newly created documents, settings, etc.), can I expect the flash drive to "wear out" within the year or so? I'm using a cheap, 1GB flash disk(probably from Walmart, but I'm not sure).
    Would it be possible to do kernel upgrades for setups like [persistent] gOS on a flash disk?
    Thanks.

    In Faunos, the data that you desire to save is written to overlay via squashfs at the option of the user when re-booting or shutting down.
    The decision is made at a prompt during the reboot procedure wherein "session save" is answered with "yes" or "no".
    Any activity which is not saved is erased from ram.  This permits the system to utilize packages downloaded during a session, running them in ram, and then dumping them at reboot.
    Puppy utilizes a file in HDD or USB to record saved data.
    The data saved in Faunos is written to overlay(s) and requires space in the flash device to accomodate increased storage.
    I hope this info is helpful.............

  • Japanese TV Tuner USB - Linux compatibility

    Hello everyone,
    I'm looking for a TV Tuner USB with an excellent linux support(of course archlinux), compatible with the japanese televion.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Well, this seems to run on Linux (according to the customer reviews), even though the system requirements says Win only. Maybe other products from Geniatech also do this, when not stated?

  • [SOLVED]How to disable USB autosuspend?

    Hello!
    A long time ago I installed Arch on my notebook and configured it's power saving using laptop-mode-tools. I also installed pm-utils for suspend/hibernate. USB autosuspend worked correctly - on battery every device (including mouse) was suspending and no autosuspend at all on AC. Some time ago, I don't remember when exactly, it stopped working. Now, no matter what, my mouse turns off after 2 seconds.
    Here is what I did:
    1. Checked my laptop-mode-tools configuration (removed comments for brevity):
    cat /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/usb-autosuspend.conf
    DEBUG=0
    CONTROL_USB_AUTOSUSPEND="auto"
    AUTOSUSPEND_USE_WHITELIST=0
    AUTOSUSPEND_USBID_BLACKLIST=""
    AUTOSUSPEND_USBTYPE_BLACKLIST=""
    AUTOSUSPEND_USBID_WHITELIST=""
    AUTOSUSPEND_USBTYPE_WHITELIST=""
    BATT_SUSPEND_USB=1
    LM_AC_SUSPEND_USB=0
    NOLM_AC_SUSPEND_USB=0
    AUTOSUSPEND_TIMEOUT=2
    So far looks good.
    2. According to wiki, pm-utils might conflict with laptop-mode-tools. So I created a dummy file in /etc/pm/power.d for each of the scripts from /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d . For the moment I don't care if I disabled too much. I just hope laptop-mode-tools covers all powersaving features.
    ls -l /etc/pm/power.d
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 08-08 19:58 hal-cd-polling
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 08-08 19:58 intel-audio-powersave

    ls -l /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 870 2013-05-30 intel-audio-powersave*

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1642 2013-05-30 xfs_buffer*
    Still no luck.
    3. As I found out, there is some kernel option CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME, which allows the kernel to autosuspend usb devices: source. It's on:
    cat /proc/config.gz| gunzip | grep CONFIG_USB_SU
    CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT=y
    And as I read here I can disable usb autosuspend using boot parameter. So i edited my /etc/default.grub, and now my grub.cfg looks like this:
    sudo cat /boot/grub/grub.cfg | grep usb
    linux /boot/vmlinuz-linux root=UUID=d18cd4a4-2ebf-4874-80ff-8520016b0ed4 rw quiet usbcore.autosuspend=-1
    linux /boot/vmlinuz-linux root=UUID=d18cd4a4-2ebf-4874-80ff-8520016b0ed4 rw quiet usbcore.autosuspend=-1
    linux /boot/vmlinuz-linux root=UUID=d18cd4a4-2ebf-4874-80ff-8520016b0ed4 rw quiet usbcore.autosuspend=-1
    After rebooting I checked:
    cat /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend
    -1
    Cool! It should work! But... it doesn't. The mouse still goes to sleep after 2 seconds, and:
    kolzi@kolzi-laptop ~ % for i in /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/power/autosuspend_delay_ms; do cat $i;done
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    2000
    kolzi@kolzi-laptop ~ % for i in /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/power/autosuspend; do cat $i;done
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    2
    Where doesn't this 2 (or 2000) come from? How disable this suspending and let laptop-mode-tools control it? What's going on?

    For now I run
    sudo systemctl disable laptop-mode.service
    and changed in /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf
    ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_TOOLS=0
    After rebooting I still have the same issues. Also, even after disabling laptop-mode-tools, the brightness changes after unplugging the laptop, so either the laptop mode wasn't disabled at all, or there is something else 'helping' me with powersaving.
    @brebs
    Thank you, but it looks for me more like a workaround than a solution. It could work, but it doesn't tell me what disables my mouse and where is the root of the problem.

  • Can't mount external HDD? "usb 1-1: Device not accepting address"

    I just bought a Medion HDDRIVE2GO (Full Speed) from Aldi, and at first when I plugged it in, everything went fine (well, I thought so). Appearently it had some errors with HAL not being able to read the HDD (error name="(unset)").
    I gave it a reboot, and now it does not work at all! In dmesg, I have this output (the bottom is the most important I guess)

    I found this post on linux forums which say It's a HAL related problem.
    "rmmod ehci_hcd" made it work for some of these guys Which one of them explains It's a data speed issue. Cables.., 2.0 1.0, that sort of things. Read it, I bet you'll get more out of it, It's old though.
    Try removing the module, plugging the drive, check dmesg, and mount manually.

  • I cannot get my DAQPAC 6016 to work with Matlab R14, what driver do I need?

    I've just installed the software necessary to support the DAQPAC 6016 usb device. Using NI software, the hardware appears to operate. However, I cannot get Matlab R14 to work with it at all. The following matlab line fails immediately: AI = analoginput('nidaq', 1);
    I installed the SW and drivers that came with the daqpac which I believe is v7.1 or v7.3 (don't know because I don't have the actual labview).
    I am stuck, where do I go from here?
    Joost

    Joost,
    NI currently has two drivers -- NI-DAQ Traditional (Legacy) and NI-DAQmx Measurement services. NI-DAQmx is the newer driver, and our newest boards are only supported with NI-DAQmx. That being said, the DAQPad 6016 is only supported in NI-DAQmx, and the Matlab DAQ Toolbox currently only supports Traditional DAQ.
    Your solution, at the moment, seems to swtich to another appication development evironment (LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Visual Studio, .NET...)
    Hope this helps,

  • Does Lock in amplifier kit work with DAQpad 6016

    Hi all,
    I have DAQPad 6016 (USB). I am trying to develope Lock in amplifier and I found Lock in Amplifier start up kit. So I am wondring that this tool kit works wit DAQ 6016? Moreover, DAQ 6016 does not support treditional DAQ. And this tool kit is with traditional DAQ so Can i change this traditional DAQ to DAQmx or any update available for Lock in amplifier start up kit?
    Thank You

    Hi N.K.,
    I found an example which is using DAQmx. Have a look at:

    Also please look here, because I the 6016 does sampling not simultaneous!

  • My USB mouse doesn't always start at boot.

    After updating from Arch 0.7.1 to 0.8, one of the big pile of bugs I had was that my USB mouse doesn't always start at boot. In fact, when I start the computer, the red LED in the mouse lights up but sometimes it switches off after the menu where I can choose to use Arch linux or .. Arch linux.
    So, the mouse switches off before I startx one time on two. When it happens I just deplug and replug it but I hate to do that.
    Need some help.

  • Satellite L655-11J - Hard disk activity all the time

    Toshiba please I need help
    The first run of my laptop I entered my location my name and a password, I install Toshiba updates and Windows 7 updates (the notifications I got) then I noticed the hard drive is active all the time and the laptop is very slow. I tried a lot to restore the original Toshiba image the built in the laptop and I finally did it thinking maybe I did something wrong
    The hard disk drive still always active (don't know what reading or writing) no monitoring for any activity the laptop very slow and lot of seeking sounds.
    any solution please, I got this problem the first use of it :(

    I know it has a guarantee and they will replace it for free, but it was a gift from Saudi Arabia, I'm now in Syria :( I've to wait until on of my relative go back there :D
    I went to Toshiba in Syria they charge my 7 $ to tell me the hard is defective although I knew it was so, and I will need to pay 100$ for a replacement so I will wait ;)
    thanks all, it was my mistake, it is just I noticed the HDD light always on in windows 7 and it was not on in USB Linux so I thought it was a system problem, I didn't have much time to work on it and make tests :D
    I'm sorry again

  • MSI GE60 2OE - blocked, Win 8.1 trouble

    First of all, Hello everybody!
    I'm in big trouble with my MSI, I got stuck and don't know what else to do. I have been trying to fix for three days, looking for information, I have read most of sticky post and searching in the forum and I haven't found any working solution.
    I purchased my GE60 2OE about two months ago. I have been used it happily since first day with Win 8.1
    I installed a mSata SSD and removed the old hard disk in order to make a clean install, then I started to install Win 8.1 but I cancelled it just after the installer formats the hard disk (I was installing it on the mSata) in the same installer I erased the partitions created so I could restart the installation from the beginning, but when I cancelled and restarted the installation the problem was there:
       The laptop starts and stops just at the beginning, with a blank screen. When I restart and press F12 or supr, or F11 for selecting boot device, a single line appears but I can't get into the bios neither select any device. I have discovered, that removing any hard disk and starting only with the Usb with Win 8.1 installer, first appears the blue windows logo, after that a blue screen appears: "your pc got into a problem and needs to restart..." "acpi bios error" and immediately reboots in a loop with the same thing. May be it's a error with the uefi Bios and Win 8.1
    The current bios version: E16GCIMS.517 (I updated it, I think it was fine, installation went OK and I restarted the laptop twice)
    The set up in the bios was AHCI, and UEFI.
    Also I remember just before the installation I changed not to display the msi logo, just for trying what happened.
    Well, I have tried with many rescue bootable Usb, linux distributions, and none of then starts, it just freezes at start with a blank screen.
    I can't get into the bios, even I can't flash it, I have tried with bootable usb with bios flashing and nothing.
    I have read that clearing the CMOS may help, but I can't find any jumper or button in the laptop, I have tried to unplug AC, disconnect the motherboard power for few minutes, etc. and no results.
    I don't know what else I can do. Please, any different point of view or any help would be welcome.
    Thank you very much!

  • Is it possible to boot from the card reader?

    With some linux versions out there, you can use liveCD to create a USB linux boot drive to 'dual' boot into linux without touching the internal harddrive.
    The cardreader would be perfect for this as I have some 4 and 8 Gb SC cards, but using F12 at startup, there is never an option to use the card reader device to boot. Looked in the BIOS, but could not see an option to enable this.
    Does anyone know of a way around this?
    Thanks.
    Waste.

    No one responded to your post, strange. When I want to test , lets say, a Compact Flash that has WIndows 98 bootup files on it, and a usb config.sys driver, as the CF slot is from a 7 in 1 FDD and card reader, and I first disable any hard drive in my computer from boot order, etc, so that the bios will be forced to simply search. If there is the possibility of your system to boot up here, it will find the OS and use it. It will tell you if it can or not at this point. Every bios is different in what it will or will not use in the boot order or allow for a bootup device. And I have also read about same thing as you read in re to Live CD. Sorry I have not learned that method as yet. I could never get anything but older OS to boot up off USB thumbdrives, and the like, and hacking the new OS usb load up process is not someting I care to master. If you find a way to do what you desire, please let others know how it went.

  • Project not working after upgrade to Kura 1.2.0

    Hello everyone, newcomer in the kura world here.
    Recently got a project working with kura and OSGi framework in my working place, but as we re-factored some code and decided to upgrade to kura 1.2.0, the project in my machine it no longer working whereas my co-worker's does.
    my current system is:
    OS: elementary OS 0.2.1 luna
    Kernel: i686 Linux 3.8.0-44-generic
    CPU: Intel Core i3-2348M CPU @ 2.3GHz
    RAM: 4Gb
    Eclipse Version: Luna Service Release 2 (4.4.2)
    Eclipse Build id: 20150219-0600
    the log is full of not resolved references even though I imported the project as per https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1067345/ (he has a similar machine setup)

    Hello,
    Dependencies are missing from your Kura_Emulator_Linux.launch file. To correct these errors:
    1. Right click on Kura_Emulator_Linux.launch and select: Run As -> Run Configurations...
    2. On the Bundles tab, under Target-Platform, be sure the needed bundles are checked
    It looks like the main problem is javax.usb. Ensure that these bundles are enabled:
    javax.usb.api
    javax.usb.common
    javax.usb.linux
    If you continue to have problems, post the contents of your launch file and I can review it.
    Thanks,

  • "Disk read error occurred" cannot even load System Recovery

    Hello,
    yesterday I powered on my computer, and it was almost froze, with only the mouse moving and even the task manager not showing up when called.
    I first tried to make it go in standby, as I thought it was some program which didnt start as planned. After I closed the screen , the screen went black, but the pc continued to run. I then pressed the power button, shutting the system the hard way.
    After that, I powered back the pc, which now only showed "Disk read error occurred, press ctrl+alt+del to restart" and obviously this wasnt the solution. I tried resetting the BIOS, then running the diagnostics on f2: it ALWAYS passes the test the first time, then if i try to run the diagnostics again, it says "NOT INSTALLED". I tried running the system recovery on f11, but the same "disk read error" appears.
    I-ve already confirmed the problem lies in the hard disk itself {hitachi 750gb}, having plugged it in another notebook with an hitachi hard disk and still showing the same problem, while the other hard disk booted just fine in my HP.
    I tried with a win7 cd, both recovering and installing a new version, but they both kept frozen for about 1 hour and did nothing.
    I then made a bootable USB with Trinity Recovery Kit and after a quick diagnostic, it said boot partition has "unclean" windows files and tried fixing the problem, without success. I-m now writing from a bootable USB linux distro, because i cannot find a bootable iso oh hitachi recovery program, what should I do?
    Is it possible the hard disk failed so bad for an uncommon closure of the system? It looks to me like some data got corrupted.
    Please help me, as I-m an academy student and I use the PC for almost everything.
    Thank you.

    I-ve booted Boot Repair 64bit and tried repairing the boot section... i even checked the boot infos and printed an info file, can someone answer what the actual FOG is happening here?
