60GB iPod - just needed to reset !

Hi all,
I've had my 60GB iPod for over a week now with no problems. However, I've just plugged it into my iMac to sync + charge and iTunes has said it cannot read or write to the iPod disk. So I tried the iPod and none of my music (or anything) would play - but I could hear the disk clicking.
I've now had to reset the iPod and this time iTunes works okay and it is copying over my library collection again..
But my worry is if maybe I have a bad disk on this iPod - as I've never had this problem on any other iPods..and surely it isn't right that I've had to reset it..
Would people recommend I get Apple to take it back ? I assume I would get another new one ?
Thanks,
Mark

if you hear the drive making clicking sounds, then you should take it to your local Apple Store or send it in for service/replacement
