60Gb iPod Photo with Olympus 8080

Gearing up to buy a 60Gb iPod Photo and wonder what I will need to dock it with my Olympus 8080 and download photos from the Compact Flash card into the iPod Photo. Can someone point me in the right direction as to the options to achieve this.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Just to report back in order to hopefully help others with the same query. I purchased an iPod Camera Connector (M9861G/A) and can now import pics from the 8080 through the adapter and USB cable that came with the camera directly to iPod. It works a treat...........

  • 60GB iPod Photo & Bose Sound Dock

Just bought the 60GB iPod photo...I also own the Bose Sound Dock. Noticed that there is no 60GB adapter with the Sound Dock...in searching the web, it seems folks are using the adapter marked 20 GB / 40 GB, but that the fit is a snug. Is this the way to go? I'm hesitant to try it without any direction. Is there no 60GB adapter available?

I don't know about the Bose SoundDock. But I had been using my 3G 30GB iPod (which I believe is at least as thick as the 60GB iPod color) with my Altec Lansing iM3 without using any adapter and it works.

  • 3 week old 60gb iPod Photo won't work

I bought a 60gb iPod Photo approximately 3 weeks ago. Very, very happy with my purchase even with the release of the video enabled Pod recently.
Anyway - this morning it refuses to work. It won't power up. Nothing. Blank screen.
Have tried all the resetting suggested in Apple support. Nothing. It just won't power up under any circumstances. (Tried plugging it to AC as well)
    Very frustrated.

Perhaps you should take it back to an Apple Store if possible, to have it checked.

  • 60gb ipod photo keeps freezing and skipping through songs

I've had my 60gb ipod photo for almost a year and it keeps freezing and skipping through songs and sometimes it won't respond to a reset. I have to let the battery run down in order to use it again. I have restored it several times and it seems to keep happenning at least once a week.I have the latest software for it. Is there any thing else I can do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync what you  want
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    -  Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Sync iPod Photo with iTunes 10.x

    Hello my friends!
I'm using SL and iTunes 10. I found my old iPod Photo with it's 30GB hdd.
I tried to hook it up to my iMac and sync but iTunes doesn't reconize the iPod.
Is the support for old iPods dropped or is there another reason I can't sync it?
    Thanks!

I would like to sync my "touch" with iTunes via Bluetooth. This would eliminate the need to plug in the USB cable each time I carry out this activity. Can someone explain to me why Apple has decided not to implement this? Will the next release of iTunes support this? Or, does it require some kind of a third part app to do this?
it's currently not possible. bluetooth on the Touch supports headsets only.
as for the future, only Apple knows.

  • HELP!  Can a 1 computer family w/60GB iPod  share with 80-160GB iPod?

It's Christmas time and we're thinking about purchasing 80GB for children. Mom has "the computer" in the house which is also home to her 60GB iPod & her music library. "If" this item is purchased and the new software is installed, will the 60GB iPod accept the upgrades in software???? Is it possible for the two to cohabitate under one roof?? Is this setting mom up for sheer disaster and massive headaches or could it be a possible match made in heaven?
P.S. Had problems operating the iTunes 7.5 upgrade. Was not a match. THAT was a headache. Currently running iTunes 7.4.2.4 w/iPod upgraded to v. 1.2.1 (as the feedback was not so positive with the the last two "fixes",
    v. 1.2.3 being the most recent) and all is well.....so far... =)
    Thanks!

Thanks Neil....while this info is great, I guess the real question is "To Give or Not To Give".....it doesn't address whether or not I should install the software for the potential new iPod. If I install the software for the 80GB, will my 60GB work properly with the new software?.... or, will the 80GB recognize the software installed for the 60GB and then just not have the ability to utilize the new features? Trying to save myself any potential headaches.....especially around the holidays. Thanks again!

  • Can't reset or restore 60Gb iPOD photo

Hi, my iPOD photo suddenly shows an exclamation mark when I start up......so after following ur instructions etc, I try to enter into disk mode and try to reset first.....but when I run the latest iPOD updater.....it says "iPOD updater 2005-09-06 cannot continue because there are other application using iPOD. Pls close all iPOD application and try again.
FYI, I've removed iTunes after reading this but still it shows the same thing. I'm using a Window XP and connection is via Apple USB cable supplied to a USB2.0 hub. Firmware last updated is July 05 if I'm not wrong (cant check now since I cant get into the iPOD....any other means to check?).....I've ran a search on ur FAQS and discussions and tried wat is mentioned but cant work....brought it down to Apple support centre in Singapore (Orchard) and their solution is restore....so I decided to give it another try and wait another day but still cannot work...so I try to reset and restore....but I cant startup my iPOD updater.
I then goes into "My computer"....it shows my C drive but the iPOD shows drive E instead of D......and my name on iPOd - rey ipod is changed to Apple ipod
When I double click the Apple ipod, its says "Please Insert a Disk into drive E".....I cant even eject from my computer now.....
PLEASE HEEELP as I do not wish to lose my music files and data I've stored in the iPOD photo 60GB....btw, its still under warranty
Prior to this happening, I've connected my iPOD to a colleague Window XP to transfer some data files I've stored within the iPOD. The drive is E btw as he got 2 HDD on his PC.

I've tried on my frenz PC.....WIN XP and Win 98......also cannot recognize.....on XP, once plug in, i asked me to format my iPOD....then Win98 says no driver....need to install driver.....
Then I tried going to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management
It shows my C drive HDD but under E drive(suppose to be D drive cos i only got 1 HDD and nothing plugs into my USB etc) it shows Disk 1 (unreadable)
Help....wats next.......I cant even use iPOD updater to reset or restore.

  • 60GB iPod Photo Not Syncing/Connecting/Showing (New March 2005)

I have an 4G iPod photo that has worked flawlessly until one morning it stopped syncing. That is, showing up at all on the desktop. I have a Dual G5 Rev A PowerMac. No connection via FireWire 800, 400, or USB 2.0.
It shows up once every 20 to 50 tries. Does not show up on my wife's iBook via USB 2.0 either.
The last time it installed, I did run Disk Utility and reinstalled the iPod software to no avail. The iPod plays fine, has plenty of battery time, and charges just fine off the AC adapter. I replaced the battery with the same results.
I have done the 5 "R's" multiple times, and reinstalled OS X 10.4.7 also.
No errors, no Sad iPod, no syncing.
    Say it: What's Up???

    Not answered, moved on.

  • Replacing HD on iPod Photo with a bigger one?

    Greetings all;
My iPod Photo HD Recently bust the dust. I intend to replace it, but while I am at it I was wondering if I can replace it with a larger one. Anyone out there up-sized his/her iPod Photo HD from the stock 20 Gig to a 30 Gig HD or even larger? Did the iPod recognized the entire disk or just 20 Gig out of it, which makes up-sizing pointless.
    Thanks;
    Moore

Since this forum is for the much newer iPod Classic, you'd probably get better answers if you posted here: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=151

  • Ipod Photo with frozen mousewheel

My I was just listening to my music on my Ipod Photo.
I wanted to turn it of and turned the hold button off and held the play/pause button. When it didnt turn off, i tried a simple reset to see if that would help. by then i noticed my mousewheel didnt respond at all.
When i was back home i restored it to the factory settings and so on... i tried everything multiple times, but my mousewheel still doesnt respond. I find this trange cause before the problem, my ipod worked nearly perfectly.
Since i live in holland i cant find any other repair service then apple itself. i'm skilled enough to change the battery and hard disk myself if needed, but i dont know anything about the rest.
can anyone help me with this problem?

    hi jenny,
no problem at all. Just hook it up and name it. Should be no problem with the one firewire connector. i have both an iPod and shuffle hook up at the same time. itunes shows them both in the source column.

  • Ipod photo with video

when is apple going to provide a new software update that will enable ipod photo users to view also videos

This has been discussed when the video iPod first came out.
    The answer is... No.
Why? The video iPod has some extra hardware (chips) that handle the video, where-as the photo iPod does not. So the photo iPod can't handle the current video.
Although, there is the Linux on an iPod "hack" that does allow limited video.

  • Using iPod photo with a new USB 2.0... is not working

I'm new to the forum, so I hope I posted in the right category.
I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200, with Windows XP. I used to have Usb 1.0 I believe, or 1.1, and well, my iPod was running quite slow. I used to connect it to my other computer which has built-in USB 2.0, and it worked perfectly in my laptop and the other Sony Vaio. I bought a slot card that added an extra Fire Wire slot, and two USB 2.0 slots. I connect my iPod to the USB 2.0 slots, and what I get is just the 'Do not disconnect screen' for a while, and before it used to give me an 'OK to disconnect screen', but now it just jumps right on to the regular Menu, Photos, Extras, Etc. iPod interface. My computer recognizes it as a massive storage device, even in that screen or whichever screen it is on, but iTunes doesn't. I just installed the newest version of iTunes.
I tried everything on the help articles here at apple.com/support, I enabled all of my USB ports so that they don't turn off when not used, I went to device manager and went to the iPod properties and disabled the option that said 'Make device easy to plug off' or something similar, and yet nothing happens.
I hope you can help me, because this is just driving me crazy, I've been for days trying to connect it and I can't, I just can through my old USB 1.0 and it's of no use.
    -Alex

I just don't know what to do. I disabled the high speed interfaces, like the article said. I restarted the computer, and connected the iPod. It wasn't even recognized. I re-enabled the high-speed interfaces, and restarted the computer. I connected the iPod, and the same thing happened: It says 'Do not disconnect' for a very short while (A few seconds) and then the Menu Photos Etc. flashes then it says Ok To Disconnect and a checkmark. I tried to safely remove hardware from windows and when I selected Massive storage device E: from the list, it said 'Can't eject Apple USB Device, try again later' (Something like that, it was in spanish). So the computer recognizes it's an iPod, but in My PC it shows up as a massive storage device, not like 'Alex's iPod' when connected to USB 1.0.
I really need help with this. I don't know if I can afford to buy a Fire Wire cable and probably then it wouldn't be recognized either.

  • Is there a way to play video on the iPod Photo with color display 60 GB?

Just curious. Can you download and play video with this model? It does about everything else. Any help that someone can offer me will be appreciated.
    Russ
eMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   It's white. My life is on it. Enough said.

You can only play video's with the new 5th generation iPods.
Maybe the iSee (http://www.isee-ato.com/) is a good alternative for you?

  • Faulty/D.O.A. 60gb ipod photo? Please help

Re-posting my question/problem here as I posted in the "connecting to Windows" forum my mistake...
Today I received my replacement iPod from Apple after my first one broke after just one month.
Following the instructions that came with my replacement, I downloaded the latest version of the Updater and everything went well until I was asked to plug it into the mains to complete the firmware re-flash. Since then I have been stuck with the "plug into mains" logo and cannot get any further.
Have Apple sent me a dud replacement? Is there anything more I can do rather than sit and wait for this logo to disappear (now 2 hours and counting)?
Thanks for any help or advice.
    Me4

Yes, I've plugged it in. I left it plugged in all night, and awoke 8 hours later to find the same symbol.
If I try to reset with it plugged in I just get a picture of a battery (almost empty) for about a minute. Then the original logo appears again and I'm hack to square one
I would expect the back of the ipod to be at least warm after 8 hours on charge but it's cold.
    Thanks,
    Me4
