61 ink cartridge options for waterside decals

i am trying to do waterslide decals with an oficejet 4635
after they are printed, installed and clear coated they look great for about 4 months, but later the ink is bleading all over.
are there any ink options for this printer?
are 61 cartriges pigment based?
This question was solved.

The black 61 cartridges are pigmented, the color 61 cartridges are dye based.  For a water decal I would recommend only using black ink, the color will likely bleed as it gets wet.

    Hi,
The XL cartridges are physically same size with the normal cartridges, only THE volumes of ink inside are not the same. Normally the volume of ink inside a XLcartridge is more than double the volume of ink inside a normal cartridge.
Hope this helps. Note: they must be physcally same size otherwise they won't fit.

  • How to exchange unused ink cartridges, 940XL, for 951 ink cartriges

We replaced our 8500 series HP OfficeJet All-In-One printer with an HP 8610 Officejet Pro.  We have 3 ink cartridges that were never opened or used, all 940XL - one in each of the three colors.  I would like to sell or exchange these for cartridges (951) we can use in our 8610 OfficeJet Pro.  How can we do that? Thank you,

If the cartridges are still in warranty I would suggest you Contact HP and see what they can offer. If you want to sell the cartridges eBay is probably as good a place as any.

  • Can i trade new ink cartridges (unopened) for new printer type

Bought new printer.  Have new ones from old printer..does HP have a trade policy>

Best bet is to call HP phone support for your country to see what they can offer. Failing that, another option is to sell them on eBay.

HP is scamming everyone with inkjet printers.  They will not let you refill them they have a chip/fuse that will not let you refill any inkjet line of printers...
If you search all the websites with refill instructions have been removed from the internet.
BUYER BEWARE I wouldnt purchase an HP printer unless you get laser or just love to spend money on ink cartridges.

Each time you install ink it depletes 25% from all existing cartridges via priming. Huge money pit. Say all my ink is at 100% capacity. I replace magenta then all ink is down to 75% before I print a single page! Say I replace yellow next. I'm down to 50% ink on all cartridges except the one I just replaced. If I next replace cyan I'm down to 25% ink on the brand new black ink cartridge. For me this translates to $15 a page for black and white print out! How is this not a scam? Especially considering I can't print black and white document without having color ink.
Wow! 25% ? I knew the priming routine depleted more ink than the average print job, but 25% seems excessive!

  • Cant load photo black ink cartridge into HP 5520 printer

    Hi there,
Cant load photo black ink cartridge into HP 5520 printer.

    Hi,
The Photo ink cartridge is not intended for the Photosmart 5520, the printer uses Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow ink cartridges as listed below as an example (The same applies for the US with the 564 ink cartridges):
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03340400&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=uk&dlc=en...
As you may find below as an example, the Photo Ink Cartridge only intended for printers which use 5 ink cartridges:
ONLY for 5-cartridge printers which use Black, Photo, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow inks
Does NOT replace Black ink cartridge

  • HP Photosmart 7510 - Can no longer find option for checking ink cartridge levels

I have been using my HP Photosmart 7510 for about 3 years on my Windows 7 computer. In the past when I clicked on the printer icon it would bring up a window which allowed me to select what I wanted to do with the printer.  Scan, check properties, shop for supplies, and check ink cartridge levels, etc.  I still get a window but have lost some of the options. Unfortunately I do not remember what all my choices were previously, but the attached image shows the choices I am getting now.
There were at least two other choices that included things like scanning, checking ink levels, shopping.  I have no idea what happened to make me lose these options.

    Hi,
Please try start the printer BEFORE the computer. The menu has small change now, ink levels are always on, at the top. You may want to update its software (Oct 2012) using the following package:

  • Have just tried to replace TESCO colour and black and white ink cartridges for a model 2540.

Each time I get the same error message 'incompatable older generation  ink cartridge'.  Contacted TESCO help desk and they sent a pair of cartridges direct to me.......the latest ones they have in stock............................same error message............does this mean that in future NO Tesco ink cartridge will ever be able to be used on a 2540 printer, or is this a way of getting me to buy HP cartridges at twice the cost?

    Hi AlanAtkinson,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are getting an error that deals with the ink cartridges.
Please click on the following link that deals with An 'Older Cartridge' Message Displays on the Control Panel or the Computer.
I have also located a document that deals with A 'Used or Counterfeit Cartridge Detected' or 'Counterfeit Cartridge Advisory' Message Displays on t....

  • SOLUTION: for printer wont print using black ink cartridge. ETC.

Black ink wont print in low resolution, you can't use high resolution if you selected plain paper. Choose "hp premium paper", even if you use cheap paper. Default Quality for this is "Best" but "Best" ONLY works IF you select a quality paper, such as "hp premium paper".
It's a software fault, there should be no option for plain paper for black only printing.
    Hope this helps a few!
    Andy

If HP Premium photo paper is selected the printer will print black using the color cartridges since pigmented black ink is not compatible with photo paper.  The printer will print much more slowly in photo mode and will put more ink than is intended on the page.
If black is not printing when you print a nozzle pattern from the printer then likely there is an issue with the printhead or the ink delivery system between the ink supplies and the printhead.

  • Can I use Replacement Printer ink cartridges for HP officejet Pro 8610

I recently purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. I previously had an 8600. They both use the same ink cartridges. I had just installed some remanufactured 950 XL and 951 XL cartridges in the old printer and tried to use them in the new printer. Of course I got an error message that cartridges weren't HP but the printer would still work. I would like to know if I can use other remanufactured ink cartridges with the new printer or if there is some way for the printer to allow me to use other ink cartridges as the HP cartridges are way over priced for the consumers. I hope there is a person out there that is conservative like me and tries to find the best bargains on everything. Your solutions would be appreciated. I waited on HP Support Assistant for 10 minutes with a dialogue I would be connected to a technician in less than a minute. They must have been on break or some other excuse, so I thought I would try this instead. Blessings. John Richardson

    Hey @rockhoundjohn
Here's the thing, yes, you can refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.
QualityLogic, one of the world's foremost quality assurance organizations, tested the performance of HP inkjet print cartridges vs. remanufactured (refilled) brands. The results: original HP inkjet print cartridges far surpassed ink refills in both print quality and reliability.
Nearly one out of every six refilled ink cartridges tested was dead on arrival or failed prematurely
70% of refilled cartridges had some form of reliability problem
Count on HP original ink cartridges for consistent, worry-free printing. You may think you're saving money on remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges, but in the long run, the cost of wasted time, ink, and paper can more than make up the difference.  - Source
Most people think, 'well of course that is what HP or an HP representative would say', but I have done some research and found that many others have too. Here is a perfect example of somebody who does not work for HP in any way and basically is a customer advocate (in my opinion) ; Should you refill your printer’s ink cartridges? HP says no (of course) By Matthew Murray
I found the above article interesting and genuine.
My personal recommendation is to buy the HP XL cartridges as they are more cost efficient, and be mindful in the printer you choose when buying an inkjet. The 8610 was a good choice. The expected page yield of the HP 950XL High Yield Black Original Ink Cartridge is 2300 pages. The regular size cartridge page yield is 1000, still good but the XL is by far a better value. Some of the Photosmart printers or Deskjets are great for what they are intended for, but do not have as good of a cost per page.
HP's recommendation; Keep in mind that page yield is just one component of cost, and that factors such as quality, reliability, productivity, and efficiency affect cost as well. Products that work reliably will ultimately save you time and money. When you choose an inkjet printer, make sure you consider your individual printing needs.
    - Source
To summarize, again, yes you can refill the cartridges. The printer is not programmed to reject them. Sometimes the cartridges will not work and of course because they are non HP, HP would not be able to do anything to help. HP cartridges have a 2 year manufacture warranty; Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies, this may give you comfort knowing HP stand behind their product.

  • HP Photosmart 5520 Not Printing Black; I'm Out $58.99 For HP Ink Cartridges I Can't Use

So after my printer stopped printing in black ink, I came to the forums to research the problem. I tried all of the recommended/suggested "fixes" to no avail. Upon realizing that this is a known issue with these printers, and after speaking with an HP tech via phone who informed me that the printer is broken, I spent the rest of my morning trying to get someone at HP to please compensate me for the $58.99 that I spent on the HP ink cartridges that I can no longer use or return --  it was only after I installed the new cartridges that I learned that the printer is broken -- toward the purchase of another HP printer. (I was perfectly willing to buy another HP printer because the 5220 has been fine for us.)
The best they could offer me was $17 off a $99 replacement printer that is *not* compatible with the new ink cartridges that I currently have. So, according to my math, that would be $58.99 + $82 = $140.99 to be able to print again.
Not exactly a great deal, IMHO.
Very disappointed with HP customer service.  Will not be purchasing any more HP products.
