6101 to PC suite via IR

Am I alone in not being able to connect my 6101 via Infra Red to the PC Suite.
Yes it is activated both on phone and thru the wizard and I have adjusted the speed.
I wonder is I am trying for the impossible!!

Suddenly everything is OK, isn't it irritating, me thinks Nokia has to sort PC Suite out. It appears to give a lot of people problems with connection!!

  • E63 updating contents using PC-Suite via Bluetooth...

When updating my E63 contacts, calendar etc. using PC-Suite via Bluetooth, every update asks the phone "Accept connection request from PC?"  This doesn't occur when using a cable connection but is a real nuisance when using Bluetooth.
Any way of automatically accepting the connection request?
    Thanks,

  • Problem using PC Suite via USB

I have a problem accessing my Nokia phone (E50) with PC Suite via USB, but since I pruchased it earlier on though, it never had this problem. My phone's connection settings via USB has been modified to let the phone be connected thru "PC Suite", and I have the USB wire that came with the phone. I had access to the contents of my phone just fine, until this week.
The problem is that the phone does connect, but my PC doesn't read any phone from the connection. I tried connecting the phone with four different USB sockets available, but no result. I tried reconnecting the phone with the USB wire, but it was futile.
Honestly, I do not know if the problem is from my phone or from the computer. My cousin, after all, came over for a slumber party during the weekend, and he visited websites that might have badware. [My computer restarts when I choose "Shut Down", it's working slowly at times, and it restarts if I bother downloading anything.] If anyone has an idea how I could resolve this connectivity problem, I'd most appreciate it.

  • Problem connecting C3-01 to OVI Suite via USB

I can't seem to successfully connect my C3-01 to the OVI Suite via USB.
The PC (running Vista) sees the device, but OVI Suite keeps complaining that I need to change the USB mode on the device to OVI Suite, although that's how I set it.  OVI Suite also doesn't show the device under the update section.  Does work when using Bluetooth though.
Any ideas what may be the issue with the USB connection?
    Thanks!

I just bought Nokia C3-01 over the weekend and I have the newest version of OVI suit and I connect mobile and pc with USB cable click sync and nothing happens my mobile is still without pics and videos and music I'm trying to uplod on the phone?????
Sometimes it writes some contentn was not synced properly error code:80043bee and other times it says sync ok but nothing happens...no pics or video were transfered??
    What's wrong??

  • Downloading Suite via Adobe site

    Hi there,
I'm planning to download and activate my Creative Suite via the website.
I find it's easier and less hassle then getting a CD shipped. However I had a few questions.
If my Mac happens to brick, will I be able to re-download my version and re-install it on a different computer for free?
What if this happens in 2 years from now, when Adobe will release CS7 or 8 -- how do I get the same version as I have now, to keep it free? (I am assuming if I want to download the newest version, the current Key I will purchase won't work for the newer versions, and I will be forced to upgrade to the newest versions for an extra cost). Is this correct? If so - what is a way around this?
    Thanks!

There are two answers to your question. It depends on what mode for acquiring Creative Suite you're using:
    1. If you're buying what Adobe calls a perpetual license for the Creative Suite (which is the method that has been used in the past), you would need to BACK UP YOUR DOWNLOADED COPY of Creative Suite 6. Use Time Machine or backup onto a DVD so you keep a copy. If you buy Creative Suite 6 (the current version), you could download another trial copy if you lost your backup, but when a new version is being sold (e.g., CS7 or CS8), the older version will not be available to be downloaded.
The serial number you'll get would allow you to activate a trial copy. However, when a newer version of Creative Suite comes out, it will NOT WORK with the newer version of Creative Suite. And you would not get any newer version of Creative Suite without paying for the UPGRADE.
    2. If you buy a subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud, you can always download an updated version of the Creative Suite, and you could download CS7 when it becomes available, as long as you keep your subscription current.

  • 6101 irDA PC Suite success!

    HI
I have looked at lots of posts on connecting a Nokia 6101 to PC Suite by any means. I have Win XP Home.
I connected my 6101 to PC Suite by infrared with Maplin's USB adapter - there is a cheaper SigmaTel adapter around which may also work (I didn't force the PC to re-install the drivers on the CD-ROM, it came with: it set up some kinda connection without actually talking to Nokia PC Suite).
Anyway the Maplin one DOES connect to PC Suite!
Two important things to ensure are
    (a) the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the phone (as you look at the keyboard) should face the IR adaptor
    (b) the speed you select should be 115200 bps (Do Start, RIGHT Click "My Computer", select "Properties", then "Hardware" Tab, "Device Manager" Button, find and expand "Infrared Devices" and look in its "Properties": "Advanced" Tab)
If the PC speakers are on, you will be able to hear XP telling you of a successful IR connection: an old Sci Fi, Dr Who-type "boingy" sound. If connection is fading you hear a strange echoey rumble like a World War Two bomber in "Dambusters". If connection is lost, you hear a "whoosh!".
Connection with IR to Nokia PC Suite lets you move/backup photos and sounds to the PC, mess around with address books and messages and copy applications onto the phone.
What you CAN'T do is update the software (is this crucial?). For that you need to connect by cable - something that might involve endless try-outs of genuine Nokia cables. No sign of any CA-42 cable success in these forums!
Hope someone else finds this useful

  • PC Suite & Nokia Ovi Suite via Bluetooth on Nokia ...

I had a tough time in getting the Nokia N8 in sync with the latest Nokia PC Suite which will recognise the N8 (version 7.1.40.9) together with the Nokia Ovi Suite through bluetooth. It was a nightmare! I don't use to have any troubles in connecting any Nokia phones via bluetooth but I do have a problem with the N8.
After searching through various forums and blogs, I have come to a conclusion. There is a workaround the problem when it pertains to the Nokia PC Suite. I rarely use the Nokia Ovi Suite because the Ovi Suite would not allow me to sync calender items for more than 6 weeks. With the Nokia PC Suite, it will allow a user to sync any items for 99 years! Can you believe it? However, not all are lost. The Ovi Suite is better in terms of installing updated maps on the N8 though. You would not be able to do so on the Nokia PC Suite.
When it comes to synchronising your N8 with your PC Suite/ Ovi Suite via bluetooth, you need to take care. The steps will be as follows:
    (1) Install the latest Nokia Ovi Suite and or PC Suite Suite version 7.1.40.9.
    (2) Don't run Ovi/Nokia PC Suite. If they are running on the taskbar, right click to exit all of them.
    (3) Enable bluetooth on your N8 and then right click on the bluetooth devices icon at the bottom right of your laptop.
    (4) Once you have right clicked on the bluetooth devices icon, select 'add devices'.
    (5) Follow the prompts on your N8 and also on your laptop/pc.
    (6) Please make sure that your N8's bluetooth is on 'discoverable'. Otherwise your laptop/pc will not be able to pick up the signal.
    (7) Follow the instructions given and then reboot your laptop/pc.
After that, you would need to fire up your PC Suite or Ovi Suite but not both at the same time. Use PC Suite to sync your contacts/messages/calenders while use the Ovi Suite to install and update your map on your Nokia devices.
    Good luck!

    Thanking You

Pls help. I'm able to connect my N8 to my laptop's win7 home premium but not to OVI suite or PC Suite.
They get connected with N8 over cable but not over bluetooth. PC Suite says "Can not authenticate the phone" and ovi suite keeps checking the "Phone's bluetooth capabilities".
    Kindly help.

  • CONNECT 6101 TO PC SUITE?

Hi i want to know if
    1. the nokia 6101 can connect to pc suite
    2.what cable should i use?
ive tried using the dku 5 dku 2 and the ca-53 and no luck...
    please help.

It is not that simple. For sure, Windows wil detect that there is some new hardware trying to connect via USB. Then windows tries its best to try to figure out that what is the driver in the PC that knows what is in the other end of the cable and if you have some non-Nokia cable, you can only wish that the cable has the capasity to pass through the information about the capabilities of the NOkia device to the PC.
In your case the Nokia Phone does not even seem to recognise there is a cable attached, so I don't think the cable is very cleverly designed.
It is a shame that people keep on buying these cheap cables, it seems really many of them are just rubbish.Message Edited by manta on 24-Aug-2006

  • Pc Suite via bluetooth getting disconnected on E61...

    Hi,
I recently updated to Nokia_PC_Suite_683_rel_14_1_eng_us_web and now I am having troubles when trying to sync.
I am getting the message [device name] connected via bluetooth and several seconds later it's getting disconnected with the message: [device name] disconnected via bluetooth --> in E61
In 6230 - it's getting crazy and the phone is being shot down.
I restarted both phones many times, restarted also the computer.
Yesterday it worked for a while, I managed to syn my calendar but today it's not working again.
until now I used an older version PC_Suite_681_rel_13 and it worked properly.
I tried to go back but it's not working now.
    My Os is winxp- SP2
    PC suite version PC_Suite_683_rel_14_1_eng_us_web
    Bluetooth: Widcomm ver 4.0.1

I'm having the same problem. Uninstalled old PC suite and installed Nokia_PC_Suite_683_rel_14_1_eng_us_web today.
With 6230i, phone is seen and a bluetooth connection is made but almost immediately PC suite disconnects. Can't even get a DKU-2 cable connection anymore.
    Useless!
    Help! Any ideas anyone?

  • Conecting to TK-Suite via USB / serial conection

Hi we are trying to connect to a AGFEO phone system using TK-Suite software the connection on the AGFO is a PC style serial port I have tried a serial to USB adaptor (from CEFC) but my mac book cannot see any port activity.
    Thanks Gary

What Agfeo Model is this? You can connect some older Models directly via USB (AS3X). Others work fine via Prolific chipset based USB connectors. Make sure Yo have the right settings in Network for your new USB-Serial Controller (in advanced - Manufacturer: NullModem 9600bps - no compression, ignore dialtone).
In TK-Suite's (current 3.3.2.0) TK-Set make sure to choose proper PASSIVE serial connection at 9600 no Parity 8bit 1stopbit.
TK-Server and Client works fine for me. Unfortunately no Universal Binary yet, plus remember to quit the App manually or your Mac will not shutdown.

my N8 will not connect to my notebook (asus n53sv with win7 home premium x64) via bluetooth using either pc suite or ovi suite but will pair directly to my notebook. both ovi suite and pc suite attempt to connect to the N8, but cannot authorise the connection. is there a solution available?

The iPhone 3G does not support this.  Only the 3GS and up support internet tethering via Bluetooth.

I have a 5800 XpressMusic with software version 51.2.007. I am using Ovi suite version 3.1.1.90 on windows 7. every time my phone connects to ovi suite and automatically syncs, 2 "bluetooth messages" are recieved (just like when I send a picture to the phone via bluetooth).when I attempt to open the message, an error message shows up on the phone that says "Messaging: feature not supported".
This seems to happen just after contacts are synched, and began happening with the latest update to Ovi Suite.
I would prefer to not have to delete these messages constantly.

We are attempting to have a few select users populate information, discussions, and document libraries in Oracle Collaboration Suite. What we need is to be able to extract portions of that information and display it via (I expect) Portlets. With one for discussion topics, another for documents, and so forth.
I am finding it very hard to even get documentation references for the capability, not to mention examples. Anyone out there with something like this under their belt? Suggestions?
    Thanks
