6110 Games wont save progress/data/levels - they w...

ive got over half the memory free on my phone and memory card - i ve installed half a dozen games and they all worked fine - all from jamster - then suddenly every new game i downloaded will not save its progress.
at first i thought it was the games themselves but then i downloaded jewel quest solitaire and at the start it gave me a warning that my "The records store is full - your game and setting will not be saved". mind you i managed to play 24 levels before i fell asleep - start again at level 1 tomorrow DUH
its particularly annoying cuz i also just downloaded age of empires 3 - which i love - but im always having to start from level 1 after shutting down the game.
now id love to play my phone 24 hours straight but its killing me have to restart each game from scratch. the first few games i downloaded still work fine - ive even tried deleting some of them to get back some space.

Connect your device to iTunes and do the update through iTunes. Using a computer takes much less space on your device than doing the update on your device.

Using itunes backup, will this save progress in game apps

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. When I backup with iTunes on my PC, will it save app data, like game progress?
Or if I have to restore the backup, will I be starting over in all my games?

Game progress and other app data is saved in the backup. If you backup the device and then later restore that backup you should have your game state restored.
It is worth nothing that typically there is a single rolling backup per device. If you want to preseve snapshots of your device for recovering from a problem that you're not initially aware of then it may be good practice to backup and immediately restore say once a month. Restored backups are archived and a new rolling backup is created. You can delete older backups when you want to reclaim space.
Note also that if you remove an app and backup the device then the backup of the app's state is also deleted.
Some games/apps allow for game progress/data to be saved in the cloud associated with your Apple ID.

my old computer is not working and on my new computer it has all my music and stuff, but with my apps i have got so far and i dont want to sync my ipod to my new computer because it might get ride of the data and i will have to start agian, and i have spent so much money on two of my apps, and they are both on game center so will that save the data on to my acount ????

Game settings are part of your backup. So you'll need to back up your ipod to the new computer.

In short:
Disable autosync in iTunes on the new computer, connect and right click on your ipod in the device list, choose "backup" and "transfer purchases" after that.
The first sync will erase your ipod, but you can use the manual backup you made to restore from, and all your settings should be back again.

Settings changed wont save after reboot

Any changes that i do in my Mac, wont save after reboot.
If i change the settings on my mouse (unchecking Scroll direction) next time i reboot, it will be checked again.
Any changes that i do to my Finder sidebar (like adding My Main Drive not visible, add downloads and pictures, change the foler view as columns) they are all gone after i reboot. Its getting freakin anoying. I Google for a solution but to find none.
When trying to opening Calender, it says that i dont have permission. I have gone to the application and checked and made sure that all acounts have r/w permissions.
On the Dock, i uninstalled an app and next reboot i will get a question mark, even tho i removed it before it comes back after the reboot.

May sound silly, but are you sure you're not logging in as the 'Guest' user? What privileges does the user account you're using have? Check in
 > System Preferences... Users & Groups
that the account you're using is Admin. If you're using a Standard account, are parental controls enabled?
If you are admin, try resetting your permissions and removing the sys pref property file. Before you do that, backup your system and user data. Once you're backed up, open Terminal and copy/paste the following into the Terminal window:
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
hit 'return'. If the prompt returns without an error (as it should), paste this
sudo chown -R `id -un` ~
hit 'return'. Enter your password as requested, but type carefully as it will be invisible while you do.
This will take a while, but after the command finishes (i.e., when the prompt returns), restart the mac.
After the restart, set the mac up the way you want, then test whether the problem is fixed by restarting again to see if your changes were kept.

JDeveloper wont save work

It simple as that, JDeveloper simply wont save my work. It does not matter if i press "Save all" of "Save as" all the files will still have create dates and whenever i try to open them i have the initial files. Its getting really irritating since i have had to do everything over for several times now. Where could the problem be? When i open JDeveloper it automatically opens all the files that were recently in use and makes it look like they have been saved. But when i try to copy the folder in which the work was and open it elsewhere or simply open it from the *.jws file it is in its initial form.
Edit: it seems that "save as" is working, but i do not wish to save every frame separately every time with different name.
Brought fiels from another computer, then edited and used "save all". All the work on the other computer was not saved.
JDeveloper 11g, Vista Business.

Nope, not read only.
Another problem: when i double click to open a jws file it still opens JDeveloper in the same state that it was last in with open projects. The project i wanted to open however is not opened.

What happens to the apps' data, if they were restored to a new device, but apps never get installed?

This is a super easy scanario.
Say in my old phone I have totally 50 apps, 30 purchased under Appel ID (A), and another 20 purchased under a different Apple ID, (B).
The old device is iOS5 and I turned on iCloud backup and back up everything (data of all apps).
I get a new device, restore from iCloud, wait until everything (photo, messages, settings, most importantly, data of all 50 apps) are restoed to the new phone.
The first thing happen after the first reboot, and it will prompt me to log on my Apple ID, to install apps.
What if, at this moment I decied to only sign on with Apple ID (A), and just don't want to use all 20 apps that I purchased under Apple ID (B) anymore?
Is the data of those 20 apps become leftover / orphane on my new phone, and just no way to clean them up? Please notice again, that I did not say "install app and then delete", I know that will clean up the data as well. I mean when data is copied over but app never get installed.

These are not your Photos. They are just the thumbnails that show in the iPhoto Window. They are tiny and not useful for anything. Look for your photos in the Originals Folder.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'. Are any Libraries listed?

How do I set up a .pdf form to save filled data without having to print the form? I have provided my clients a lifecycle .pdf form they can use to record data for unique client meetings. They want the ability to save their completed data whenever they use the form under a unique file name. I've told them the only way I know how to do this is to print the completed form as a .pdf document and then save it.
Is their a way to save the data to a unique file name without printing the filled form?
Is there a way to reset the form with blank fields after saving? or to add a clear fields button?

If you reader extend a pdf using livecycle reader extensions then you can save the filled in data - this is true if you are using Adobe reader to view the PDF's. If you open it in Acrobat then the functionality is already there.

It is your fault if you bought apps that are not compatible with your device or that require internet connection.
The product description will tell you all of this.

Ok this is bizzare!
Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(

Dashboard prompts are getting cached and not working as per data level security

Version: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 BP2
We have dashboard prompts that have data level security defined in RPD - Content tab of an LTS.
After clearing cache, the dashboard prompt applies the security properly. When another user who has a different security defined, is seeing the same prompt values on clicking the drop down of a prompt and also when they click search prompt popup.
Issue is, for second user, I do not even see cached query in the session logs. Tried applying the DISABLE_CACHE_HIT=1 in the prompt sql results, no luck.
But reports are applying the security correctly, issue is with prompts alone.
Any thoughts on this?

Just for others reference: We disabled caching on the table to avoid this issue.

Data Level Security implementation question

I had a quick data-level security scenario and wanted to solicit any input from the experts.
In our current Subject Area we have one Presentation Layer using one Business Model. In this Subject Area have a Task and Employee Dimension. There is row-level Security on the Task Dimension that is done in the Business Model on the LTS Content tab. There are a batch of reports built off this Subject Area.
There is now a request to build a new batch of reports, however, they want to now filter on the Employee Table and NOT filter on the Tasks. So the opposite of what has been applied above.
From my perspective there are only a few ways this Security can be applied
Business Layer: Basically either create an Alias of Employee and Task or build a second LTS for both. Then create new columns and map to these accordingly. Basically have 2 of each column in the Business Layer. One with Security applied and one without.
Presentation Layer: Created a second Presentation Subject Area and apply the security at the Presentation Layer and remove it from the Business Layer.
I know a third option could be put security on the Role/Group but for this case these reports are open to everyone.
I'd just like to verify from the experts that I may have covered all solutions for this scenario or if there are any other suggestions?

If you have two LTS say A & B (basically duplicate) then add a column say LTS Indicator and assign 'A' for LTS A and 'B' for LTS B. Add the fragmentation content and apply the security filter and you can also create two different Presentation folders under same Subject Area if users have Answers Access so that the users know if they are querying for LTS A or LTS B.
Similarly, build your reports making use of LTS indicators which will BI server to pick correct LTS. Say, where you want LTS A to be picked...use filter of LTS Indicator = 'A' and thats it.
