6120 Fixed Port License Usage

I was looking around in the 6120 via cmd line and noticed that the "show license usage" output shows that there is an 8 port license but than none are in use. If that is the case do what does licensing the remaining 12 ports do? What happens if you use two of those for northbound Ethernet uplinks?

Hi..  I have a similar output in my lab setup. In my lab setup, i did not purchase any license and i can use port 19 and 20, in fact all of the ports. It looks like the license is base on trust and not really enforced.  Rgds Eng Wee

  • License Usage on CWMS Version1.5 - 50 Port Deployment without IRP

I am not able to understand how the license usage is being accounted in CWMS 1.5.
Currently  I have deployed CWMS - 50 Port without IRP. The CWMS 1.5 is integrated  with CUCM 7.X. There are 3 hosts configured on the system and the  license count is increasing for every meeting that is scheduled. The  license count increases only when the first participants joins the  meeting.
    I have tested a few scenarios -
    1.  I have hosted a meeting and I joined only the teleconference, Other  participants joined the meeting and the license count increased by '1'
    2.  I have hosted another meeting at a different time and did not join the  meeting. Other participants joined the meeting and the license count  increased by '1'
Please Note - In both scenarios the Atendees Join before host option was checked.
I am currently refering the licenses usage scenarios posted on Cisco and has not found any resemblance.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/collaboration/CWMS/b_planningGuide_chapter_0111.html
Request your help in clarifying how the license usage counts increment.
    Thank you.

    Hi Joseph and Benjamin,
I am not sure whether you have got the answer for this already, anyway, here is the explanation.
There is a defect opened for incorrect license count shown in the CWMS dashboard. You can check the defect details in the link below,
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCul57521
Our development team analyzed the above defect and identified the root cause of this issue as another defect. The defect details can be seen in the link below,
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCul03486
To summarize the above two defects, sometimes, the telephonic session in CWMS doesn't end correctly and stays active through out. Hence, all the meeting initiated by this user will have one simultaenous meeting always. This is the reason, for licensing count getting increased even the meeting is scheduled in different date and time.
Let me know if you need any further details.

    Hari

  • Installing 10G port licenses on 6120, what the crap?

Got a box of licenses for a 6120 UCS. Have like 40 10GB port licenses. But they are a CD, that has vague documentation on it, and a card with a "Product Authorization Key" on it.
Cannot figure how under "License Management" to install these. It only offers "Download License" local and remote. Cannot type in a license key. Are these importable via CSV? I see that I can export licenses that way.
    Craig

    Craig,
    Go to here:
    http://www.cisco.com/go/license
Log in with you CCO ID and enter the PAK (Product Authorization Key) there.  Follow the steps on the site.
You will then get a .lic file that you upload to the 6120 using the "Download License" option (Local is for the file on your computer, remote is if the file was on a ftp server or a share or something)

  • System Measurement: Measure and report license usage - System Type

After a 'system copy' to create  new DEV and QAS PORTAL systems from a copy of PROD the USMM (System Measurement: Measure and report license usage) process identifies the System Type of the new systems as PROD.
This was first noticed when performing a 'License Audit'.
    System Type:      PROD
    (Ex:   URL http://<server>:<port>:50000/usmm)
Where can the 'System Type' be changed after a 'system copy'?

    Hi,
You can change the System Type in Visual Admin under service Licensing Adapter.

    Hello Dhanesh,
    thanks for your reply.
We have 2 3548 licensed exactly as your Nexus.
After a reboot of the two Nexus the first 4 ports (of the two) had problems (no input packets, only ouput packets, so unusable). There was connected devices with GLC-T, so they worked at 1 G, not 10G.
We opened a TAC Case about this and, after remote session and many analysis, the engineer decided to replace the two devices.
Despite this I have still some doubt.
I found the discussion below and I post some logs of one of the Nexus, we use the 10 G not in a contiguous way.
    Thanks and regards

    Hello,
Before to use remote assistance in windows 8.1, i need to configure my nat router freebox.

How to use a fixed port for remote assistance ini windows 8.1 ?
And why i can't use easy connect ?
i read that the router must implement the PNRP protocol. I think it's a propriatary microsoft's protocol unknow on my router.

  • Can Port Licenses on an MSE8000 be converted to a virtual TP Server?

    I have a customer with an MSE8000 with 80 port licenses and 2 x 8420 blades.
They'd like to go virtual; is there any provision for converting these port licences into screen licences for a Virtual Telepresence Server?
    Thanks
    David

The only way you can convert MCU licenses to TelePresence Server licenses is if you have either an MCU 5300 Series or MCU MSE 8510 blade, and that is by the process of installing the TP Server software on the MCU because the hardware can support it.

  • Do I need VXML Port Licenses for CVP Database Lookup.

    Hi,
Please let me know that whether VXML Port Licenses are required for CVP Database Lookup.
I am using CVP just for prompt playing in my scenario,
    Appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Manish

[email protected],To make database integration with your IVR, you have different alternatives :1- Use the 'DB Lookup' node ICM scripting node for simple SELECT transactions on SQL Server databases2- Use an 'Application Gateway' component with ICM scripting for more complex database operations on different type of databases. Application Gateway is a software component developed by Cisco partners to make ICM scripts interact with different databases.3- Use VXML scripts. VXML scripts can connect and interact with any kind of databse using the JNDI protocol. You will need a VXML Studio license (to develop the VXML applications) and a CVP Server for VXML Servers (you need to deploy VXML servers on which you will deploy your VXML applications)Hope this will help.
Good summary. If I can comment ....
    1. DBLookup is so restrictive it is not typically useful for looking up ANIs in a customer DB. It is useful for other things to do with routing - say a DNIS lookup to control some aspect of routing. Look up the restrictions on DBLookup if you don't believe me.
    2. This may be an expensive proposition. Unless you have in-house experience with something like a CTI all events bridge and the ability to code to the required heartbeat interface, you will find building an app gateway tricky. You also need to be in the Cisco Developer's Program ($25k). I have colleagues write app gateways in C++ and VB.NET, so it's possible - just not trvial. For a huge load, this may be the only suitable method, however.
    3. This is the way to go. JNDI is NOT a protocol - it is a naming standard. The protocol that the client (your application running under Tomcat) uses to talk to the server (the database out there) is defined by the library - the JAR file - you hook into it in VXMLServer\lib\endorsed. Through the JNDI specification in Tomcat\conf\server.xml you indicate the host, user name, password and client library that the system needs. Tomcat uses connection pooling to manipulate a pool of connections (threads) giving a more efficient database query system.
You can then add an additional sepcification through context.xml that allows you to use the JNDI spec in your VXML Database Element.
If you like coding in Java, you can write a Custom Action Element to use the JNDI (and therefore connection pooling), making your query and manipulating the result. This is the way I do it because I'm a competent programmer. Most will use the Database Element.
Finally, you could write a Java Custom Action Element that does not use the JNDI at all, but given the server, user, password and database through the settings, opens a connection, runs the query, and closes the connection.
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • Logged-in Resources stat not the same as license usage

    Hello,
If I look in Real-Time Reporting, the number of logged-in resources is 29.  If I go on the CLI and run show uccx cad license usage, it's telling me that there are 26 licences in use.
What's the reason for the difference?
I've tried counting the supervisors, but that doesn't give me the difference.

    Hi Jemima,
Could you please cross check wih the UCCX's Real Time reporting ,Overall Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Stats report.
To access the Overall Unified CCX Stats report, choose              Reports                   > Overall Cisco Unified Contact Center Express                     Stats from the Application Reporting menu bar.
Number of resources currently logged in.
This will give the accurate results.
    Hope this helps.

  • License usage

    Hi Folks,
Well I thought I was pretty happy with licensing, and what I understood was:
    1. Licensing is based on number of concurrently active users.
    2. An advanced license is used if an endpoint is allocated an authentication profile based on a rule which uses profiling information/posturing.
This shows my currentl licensing page:
and here's a summary from the front page:
Don't these two already contradict each other?
I've no idea where 28 advanced licenses have been used. No posturing in place, fairly simple setup, dot1x certs and MAB. Any tips for troubleshooting license usage?
    Ver 1.1.4 Patch 3

    bikespace,
In ISE 1.1.x, Advanced license is the count of postured, BYOD, or profiled endpoints
that are active in session directory.
You can make use of this API reference guide to check the Active session count.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.1/api_ref_guide/ise_api_ref_ch2.html#wp1068744
The API to check for Active Session count is as follows :
    https://MNTise-node-name/ise/mnt/Session/ActiveList
Looks like issue with Dashboard query . Dashboard might be taking the count of stale Endpoint sessions as well.

  • UCCX - CTI Port Licensing

    Hi,
We have a UCCX Express system consisting of 2 servers that has 60 CTI ports and is licensed for 300 IVR ports.
Does this mean I am licensed up to 300 CTI ports? Or are the IVR ports and CTI ports licensed separately? If I wish to increase the existing number of CTI ports, or create a second group, do I have sufficient licensing?
    Thanks, James

    Hi James,
300 licensed IVR ports are equivalent to your active (calls in CTI ports) CTI ports in use.
So you can create 300 or even more CTI ports from the First Node of UCCX (which is replicated in the second node of UCCX) but incase of active calls in the CTI ports only 300 CTI ports can be used at any given point.
    Hope it helps.

  • Consultation on License Usage Report.

    Hi;
From one day to another, the "License Usage Report" section began the following message:
"The system is operating With An Insufficient number of licenses. If additional licenses to cover the shortage are not configured in your Enterprise License Manager Within 59 days, you will no longer be able to provision users and devices."
    The query that I have is that the aggregate IP Phone says "Unassigned" then;
Should I add a Onwed each User ID? What with that that message would be solved?

    regards

    refer the link which says
Licenses in the non-compliant state for Unified Communications Manager are enforced after a 60-day grace period. At the conclusion of the grace period,Unified Communications Manager enforces non-compliance with the following service degradation:
Devices and Users cannot be provisioned. Changing the configuration of a user that affects licensing (For example: the Enable IM and Presence and the Enable Mobility check boxes) is not allowed.
Devices and Users cannot be de-provisioned. Any configuration changes that involve licensing (For example: disabling IM and Presence or Mobility) is allowed.
you need to buy additional licenses to make the non-compliant phones work .

  • UCCX Outbound IVR Port License Requirements

Hi, trying to figure out how many Outbound IVR port licenses are needed.
UCCX dials out, call is answered with a live voice, UCCX transfers to Application Trigger. No agent available, call is queued.  At this point 1 Outbound IVR license is used.
Agent becomes available and call is transferred to Agent.  At this point is the licensed port returned or is the license consumed until the agent hangs up?
    Thanks.

    Hi Chris
I dont think the outbound license will be held till agent answers the call.
Here's when outbound licenses will be released:
    1. Outbound subsystem calls a contact, live voice is detected, dialer does a refer to agents extension via gateway-sip trunk - CUCM. At this point, outbound port is free and agent takes the call
    2. Outbound subsystem calls a contact, live voice is detected, dialer does a refer to IVR trigger. Outbound port is released. Here, the outbound contact is now connected to one of the inbound CTI ports which are associated to the IVR trigger
In summary, as soon as outbound port does a successful SIP Refer transfer, the outbound port is free to be used for next contact.

  • UCS Port Licensing with 2K Fabric Extenders

A FEX like a 2232 can be added to UCS to provide additional ports for connecting C-series servers.  Do you still only license the ports used on the Fabric Interconnects - ie, I add a 2232 using 2x10GE uplinks to each FI, I gain 32 10GE connections for servers, but only use two port licenses on the FI?
