6120XP to 6248UP Upgrade - Port remap require chassis re-ack?

According to the upgrade guide, step 14f, a chassis re-acknowledgement is required when you change the FC port mapping.  Can anyone confirm that this is valid?  I ask because at this point in the steps the server ports are still down so no chassis is technically connected so why would a re-acknowledgement be required?  It says a chassis re-acknowledgement is disruptive and I thought an upgrade from a 6120XP to 6248 would be non-disruptive.
Any clarification would be excellent.
Thanks,
-Jason

Hi Jason
I think this comment is very misleading.
I don't know a single UCS installation that is using LAN and/or SAN pin groups.
The only reason to do a chassis ack: if you change the server ports connecting the IOM in the chassis.
No chassis ack necessary if you change FC uplink ports assignments.
Walter.
Step 14   (Optional)Remap UCS 6100 fabric interconnect FC ports 2/1 to 2/4 on a N10-E0440 expansion module or any slot 3 ports onto the new fabric interconnect expansion module.
Use UCS Manager to delete the ports on the subordinate fabric interconnect that you will need to move within the configuration.
For each port you have just deleted, create new ports on either slot 1 or slot 2. These ports must use the same port type definitions as the old ports, but will use different port numbers.
For recently moved Ethernet server ports, reconfigure the associated service profile to use the new port number for the appropriate LAN pin group.
For recently moved uplink Ethernet ports, reconfigure the port channel settings to use the new ports.
For recently moved uplink FC ports, reconfigure the associated service profile SAN pin group to use the new ports.
Re-acknowledge chassis for blade servers and fabric extender for rack servers. This will be disruptive to traffic, but is necessary in this specific scenario.

  • Which ports are required by ODMA?

I am an SAP R/3 administrator.
I want to upgrade from Oracle 8.0.6.3 to 8.1.7.3 under AIX 4.3.3
So I need to use the RUNINSTALLER followed by the ODMA
I want to do this remotely, passing out through one firewall then in through another.
My X-emulation is ReflectionX, for which I already have firewall transparency for port 6000 .
My question: Which ports are required for RUNINSTALLER + ODMA
    Thanks in advance,
    Keith

    Hi Keith!
This forum deals with issues specifically related to the Oracle Migration Workbench product. This product is used to migrate non Oracle databases to Oracle8i & Orace9i. (It does not enable you to migrate from one Oracle database version to another!)
In order to get assistance in performing a migration frrm one Oracle database version to another you should contact Oracle RDBMS Support. You should be able to find their contact details in the Documentation that comes with ODMA.
    hope this helps

  • What ports are required to be open on a firewall for UCCX ver7 Backups

I'm trying to setup a backup location on UCCX version 7.
The backup storage location and the UCCX server are seperated by a firewall.
What ports are required to be opened on the firewall to allow the backups through to the backup location.
    Can't find any info online

Try it locally on the server itself.
You just need to create a shared directory backup oon the server on C:\ drive.
    \\127.0.0.1\C$\backup
    This should work.

  • ECC 6.0 upgrade - password reset required

My client upgraded from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 this past weekend.  On Monday morning, we found that a number of users could not log in to ECC 6.0 with their password from 4.6c.  This was the case for only about 10-15% of users who logged in.  A password reset was required for these users.  We haven't been able to determine what caused this issue.  Has anyone else had a similar experience with an upgrade to ECC 6.0?
Our first instinct was that it was an issue with the case-sensitivity of passwords.  However, we've polled a number of users and it appears that the issue was occuring with users who had all-lowercase passwords, all-uppercase passwords and mixed-case passwords.  Any insight you can provide would be appreciated.

    Hi Daniel,
Sounds to me like you need to make the password downward compatible...
Check that parameter login/password_downwards_compatibility and make sure is downward compatible. I think the correct value is 1

  • New to Mac - does upgrade to Leopard require reinstall of existing apps?

We've moved my wife from a PC to a MacBook Pro a couple of months ago (running Tiger). We purchased & had installed several apps such as Parallels (pointing to a Boot Camp instl of Windows XP Pro) and Photoshop Elements, etc. that she needs for her work.
If we make the upgrade to Leopard, will those applications that are not a "nominal" part of the Leopard OS have to be re-installed? (I know it would for such a major upgrade on the PC side...not familar enpough yet with the Mac OS to know if requires such a re-instl.)
And we're located in Southern Italy, so it is not an option of running to an Apple or Mac store to review this with a "genius" - we bought the new machine while back in the 'States on home leave.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
when you do an "archive & install" all your apps and accounts will stay as in 10.4..
I did it with 3 diff. Mac's and all is working very well, incl. PhotoshopCS3 , IndesignCS3 and MSApps as well..
    Hope that helps!

  • R12 login port change required while changing enviornment files

    Hi,
I cloned an r12 instance. But before I initiated the postclone activities and so on I took a backup of the existing instance in the target server. But now there is a requirement to bring up the old instance with conditions:
    - Different Oracle Base
    - Different EBS port and so on.
Is it ok, if I proceed with just running a post clone script on the old backup taken. Or there any other methods to achieve this.

  • Port remapping on certain apps?

There is a certain application (non-apple related) that uses the port 1119, is it possible to remap this port to anything other than 1119 without going through the router?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions:
    This might be useful

I have never used it. You can remap ports directly using this:
    http://code.google.com/p/tcmportmapper/wiki/BasicUsage
When doing these things, it's important that your backup is up-to-date.
