6131 and long messages
Hello, one of my friends have two problems with her 6131 and long messages:
(1) no warning when more than 160 chars are input while composing a message (annoying, given the cost of SMS here in italy...)
(2) it often happens that long SMS received are truncated at the first 160 chars or so, and no other text is ever received.
Any help appreciated! Thanks.
Sorry, but you cannot change that. Just keep an eye on how many part the SMS is going to be. Sometimes networks drop parts of multipart SMS messages. Try using MMS instead for long messages.

During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call. So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of. Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message. Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

Hi, I just tried to open Word and this message appeared - 'You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.' I just recently loaded OS X Lion does this mean my software for MS Office is now out of date? Do I have to purchase a new package? Any help appreciated.

Office 2004 was written for the PowerPC chip only. There is no emulation in OS X 10.7.
I encountered the same issue sometime ago when I updated to OS X 10.7.
There is one option that I might mention (other than buy Office 2011). I switched to Apple's iWork. Pages (the word processing package) is completely compatible with Word. If you export Pages documents, you can export them in formats compatible with Microsoft programs. iWork also contains programs that are compatible with Office presentation and spreadsheet packages.
The reason I mention this is that the cost is about 1/2 of the cost of Office.

This is frustrating - I have to re install my Creative suite 5 and the message I get says I need to validate eligibility etc because I purchased this edition while in school. This is a student teacher edition. I know longer have a school address since I graduated 4 years ago. Can anyone help???
Creative Cloud Download & InstallI'm not clear what you are saying here. Since for S&T versions registration is mandatory, you have a permanent serial on your account and those function just liek any normal serial number of a comemrcial package.

I purchased microsoft office mac in 2004 and suddenly I get an error message. It won't launch. I click reopen and it does the same thing. I get a long message in the panel. It tells me it will send a report. I still can't access any microsoft item - word, excel, nothing works.

More possible bad news. If you had followed what fane_j had asked you to do you might have found out it wasn't microsoft's fault for your problem and wouldn't have had to spend $150. Because while you may have an Office that works, fane_j was not suggesting a solution but probing for a trojan (google "flashback trojan") that has been crashing powerpc code which is what Office 2004 is.
So if you do have the trojan, while you can run a version of Office, the trojan may still be in your system since installing a version of Office isn't going to remove it. So I'll make another request. Launch Terminal (in your Utilities folder) and copy/paste the following line into the terminal window and hit return:
defaults read ~/.MacOSX/environment
If you see anything other than a "does not exist" error message you almost certainly do have the trojan and post the results in this thread.
The choice is yours. You can ignore this and take the risk. Or do what has been requested. -
what does it mean when you receive a text on your iphone 6 from your own number and the message is duplicated on each side (sent/received) and has "verizon message" with a long number at the end of the text, duplicated as well?
Great question stacybrownie! Let's get to the bottom of this so that it's not a cause for concern. When a message is sent to/from your own number, it will display as one sent, one received. This makes it display two messages as you are seeing. Let's clarify the second part of your question. Where do you see "Verizon Message" exactly? What is the long number at the end of the text? When did this start and is it with all text messages or only this instance?

1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar at bottom
2. Hold the iMessage app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Re-launch the app and test

MY computer crashed and I had to reload the operating system. I had purchased the export PDF. However, I had not back up since my purchase and it is my understanding that this software is not stored on my computer. The export no longer works, it just keeps circling and the message acts like it is doing it but it circles and never completes. Msg says "uploading file to adobe exportPDF online"

I'm sorry that your computer crashed. That's the worst. But, it shouldn't have affected ExportPDF, since that is an online service (provided you're using a supported web browser, and there's no firewall or proxy preventing ExportPDF from uploading). First, please make sure that you're using a supported web browser: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Next, I think we should consider the file that you're trying to convert. How big is it? Had you tried converting it before the crash? Does it contain both text and graphics? Do other files convert without issue?

Address Book and long SMS Messages
I have a Bluetooth equipped Mac and a Bluetooth equipped Sony Ericsson mobile. The phone is able to send and receive so called "Long Messages" with an upper limit of 768 characters.
I want to type my message in Address Book and then send it via my mobile.
It would appear that Adress Book only recognizes the old 140 character message standard and tells me "Too long by 138 characters". Then Send button is grayed out.
Anyone know of a trick to make Address Book play along?

I sent my friend a really long message of moons and spaces to **** her off for fun, and my messages froze, blacked out, and now they're blank and I can't click anything. I did it before on another day, and this never happened. Is this because the messages are still sending? Can I just backup and wipe my phone to fix it?
I need help ASAP I need my phone.Sounds as though the messages app has crashed. Follow the below steps:
1. Double tap the home button, locate the messages app in the screen that appears and swipe up to force close it (assuming you're running iOS 7 on your device).
2. If the above doesn't work, then press and hold both the lock (on/off) switch and the home button at the same time, until the display turns blank, and the apple logo appears. Once the logo appears, release the buttons and wait for your device to power back on.
If neither of the above work, you may well need to complete a restore on your phone via iTunes. -

My iPhone just stopped giving me audible notifications for email and text messages. It still rings for calls. I have checked the settings for "Sounds" and they have not changed. However, in these settings when I try to change the sound I get only the vibration and not the sample sound. Can anyone help?

In acidently clicked somethin and nowthe message is no longer displayed.
I clicked something by mistake and the bottom half of mail displaying the mail message currently selected disapeared so all I could see were the subjects of the messages and to view the complete mail I had to double click it and the message would appear in a new window.
How do I set mail to how it was before so the message is displayed in the bottom half and the subject is listed in the top half?Great! I had this issue just now and now it's solved for me. I hadn't noticed that tiny little circle.
Oh, and if you double-click that bar, when below, it's restored to the previous location.

IPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 stops receiving calls and text messages
Hi all,
My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) suddenly stopped receiving calls and text messages. However, I'm still able to send them.
The workaround for fixing this issue is to make an hard reset to the iPhone.
This only occured with 5.0.1 version. It's very annoying because I'm not able to know if it's working or not (I can only suppose that it's not working when I'm a long period without receiving calls/messages)
Do you know how to solve this ?
