6140 replication - zone configation for SAN ?

Hi All,
Following is the setup for two 6140 for replication, I want to know the best practice for SAN zoning for this scenario.
Primary site:
6140 Cntrl A and B - port 4 is connected to primary site switch B port 4
DR site:
6140 Cntrl A and B - port 4 is connected to dr site switch A port 4
Primary switch B is connected dr switch A port 7 and the link is up.
Sun documentation says,
"Make sure the FC Switch(s) has been correctly zoned to allow the arrays to communicate over the SAN"
So we can create a zone for replication, with switch A port 4 (6140 DR - port 4), switch B port 4 (6140 PR - port 4) , switch A port 7 (Link), switch B port 7 (Link)
Is it the best way of doing that,
If I want to read only mount the replicated (secondary) volumes, should I create a seperate zone for DR site with switch A port 4 (6140 DR - port 4) and my DR host ports in the switch A.
There may be several zone scenarios, If some body has come across a best way of doing zoning or a simple way of looking at it.

I usally create an alias in the switch which includeds the 6140 controllers then add that into my zone for the hosts. I'm not doing any replication yet ie 6140 to 6140 but I have got multiple 6140's across my location and this method has worked fine for me

Solaris 10 zone config for one application

I have a Solaris 10 x86 server with 48GB of memory and 8 CPUs (although I believe hyperthreading is turned on because prsinfo shows 16 CPUs). The server is dedicated to one big application which spawns many processes/threads. Performance is extremely important for this application so I need to give it all of the resources possible.
I tried just allowing the application to run in the global zone because there's nothing else it will interfere with (aside from the OS) but I couldn't get it to utilize all of the CPUs this server has. My guess is the global zone is only designed for running the OS and playing traffic cop for the other zones, so it's not suited for running applications. Is that correct?
So my question is, assuming I do need to setup a dedicated zone for this monster application, how do I configure it to dedicate all CPUs and all memory (or as close to all of it as I can get)?
Also, is there some default limit on how much CPU % a process can have? Because I have tried getting one process to utilize 100% of a CPU and can't get anywhere near that... unless prstat doesn't display per CPU utilization information.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is that correct?No. Unless you have dedicated CPUs to zones (so they are not available to the global zone), or unless you're running under a project which restricts CPU usage, the global zone has access to all virtual CPUs.
Can you see your process spawning threads? How much CPU is it able to use?

So you'd either need to run 16 single threaded processes, or your process would need to spawn 16 threads that were CPU-heavy. No, there's no default limit on a process.

Solaris 10 zone config for JES

Setup a zone to install JES - Web servers, but when I launch the installer I get the following:
WARNING: Unsupported non-global zone
EntSysResources:zoneCheckPanel-Gui-LocalZoneSupported
Something in the zone setup is incorrect, but not sure what.
Anyone else out running JES in Solaris 10 zones?

* Installing Java ES in a non-global zone that uses the whole root file system (Using the default sparse root file system is not supported.)
* Installing Java ES in the global zone with no non-global zones
Zone can be 2 type - sparse root and whole root . sparse root model has following folders inherited - /lib, /platform, /sbin and /usr.
If a non-global zone doesn't have any inherit-pkg-dir resources, such a zone is said to be a whole root one
If you want to create a whole root zone but default shared file systems resources have been added by using inherit-pkg-dir, you must remove these default inherit-pkg-dir resources using zonecfg before you install the zone:
zonecfg:my-zone> remove inherit-pkg-dir dir=/lib
zonecfg:my-zone> remove inherit-pkg-dir dir=/platform
zonecfg:my-zone> remove inherit-pkg-dir dir=/sbin
zonecfg:my-zone> remove inherit-pkg-dir dir=/usr

For example,Basically we need to enter the following commands:
Configure the DNS server zone for zone-based DNS. Specify the zone, tier number, and an optional text description:
- CSS (config)# dns-server zone 0 tier1 ""
Configure the CSS to act as a DNS server:
- CSS (config)# dns-server
Add the DNS records as needed:
- CSS (config)# dns-record a www.home.com 192.x.1.1 15 single kal-ap 172.x.25.1 50

Configure DNS as primary to point to itself:

This is just an example but it is basically all you need to configure DNS on the box.

Config for Production client

Dear all,
I'm a new basis and now I'm working in big project ERP. I have a disturbed about config for Production client.
In scc4 we must set client role is Production and No change allowed for Objects. But in production some time we need do Open and Close Period, or change following business requirement, ... This is not allowed to do in Production client.
How do we config for Production client to cover this requirements ?
Do we need a config client for maintain Production client ? Example: Production client is 500, Config client is 100. When we need Open or Close Period or change anything, we do in 100 and transfer request to 500.

You can customize transaction to be executable although the setting in SCC4 is "productive", this is accomplished by using transaction SOBJ:
Note 1497640 - Open and close periods in productive client
You can theoretically put every customizing view there and make it "executable" in a production system.

How to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

My flex project works fine using the below but when I upload my flash file to the server I doesn't work, all the relative paths and files are the same execpt the remote one is a linux server.

I think the problem is the line
        <endpoint uri="http://localhost/domainn.org/amfphp/gateway.php" class="flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint"/>
but I'm not sure how to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

In Flex, there is feature that lets developer to put all service-config.xml file configuration information into swf file. with
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
IF
services-config.xml
have tokens in it and user have not specified additional
-context-root
and this swf file is not served from web-app-server (like tomcat for example) than it will not work,
Flash player have no possible way to replace token values of service-config.xml file durring runtime if that service-config.xml file have been baked into swf file during compilation,
for example during development you can launch your swf file from your browser with file// protocol and still be able to access blazeDS services if
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
have been specified durring compilation.
I dont know any better way to exmplain this, but in summary there is two places that you can tell swf about service confogiration,
1) pass -services=path/to/services-config.xml parameter to compiler this way you tell swf file up front about all that good stuff,
or 2) you put that file on the webserver( in this case, yes you should have replacement tokens in that file) and they will be repaced at runtime .

Config for Dispatch Intrastat

Our client has a manufacturing plant in France which is already in SAP. Now they are planning to come up with another plant in France. We will be creating a new Company Code and Sales Org. My question is that since France is already in SAP and uses Intrastat reporting so do we need to make any config for new Plant/Sales Org or is the Intrastat setting defined at country level only.

We are going to create a new Plant as well as a new Sales Organisation. In Intrastat there is one setting where we assign Business Transaction Type to Sales Org/Item Category combination. For the reference Sales Org this setting is already in place so do we need to do this setting for new Sales Org also or does it get copied when we create new sales org with reference to existing sales org?
In my view on the current set up which you are incorporating for new plant at France, there is no need to have new Company Code and Sales organization unless and untill there is some legal requirement at EU(If export process needs to be triggered). There is not much information available on Intrastat functionality but as i understand from you, you create Business transaction type at Intrastat, and then assign business transaction type to Sales organization, My suggestion would be :- most likely you would have to extend and include the newly created Sales Organization for Business transaction type.

In general you can read context or innit parameters from web.xml.
You get to them via the servlet context
String databaseHost =getServletContext().getInitParameter("database.host");
And to get to the servlet context use
FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); ServletContext servletContext = (ServletContext) ctx.getExternalContext().getContext();

Hal config for Elantech/Eee 1000h touchpad?

I've tried using the one that's in the 901-install Wiki page, and find it massively flakey (sorry no offense to anyone), compared to using xorg.conf.. It doesn't allow precise control at all, and for some reason (I'm sure it's the way I move my finger), seems to really jump up or down when I move side to side..
So does anyone have a config for this that works real good, that cares to share?

I know this problem occurs when I compile the elantech driver in the PS2/trackpoint driver:
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_TRACKPOINT=y
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_ELANTECH=y
I was told you need the latest xf86-input-synaptics but Arch has the latest...
My workaround was to disable elantech:
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_TRACKPOINT=y
# CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2_ELANTECH is not set

I suppose Cisco ISE sends a URL redirect to the switch and the switch presents it to the client in case of guest Access getting a URL redirect with User Acceptance Page (Wired Guests and not wireless).
My question here is, Do we need to configure http and https server on the switches (both supplicant and authenticator)?
I am sure it will need but just wanted a confirmation..
I have checked the configuration for supplicant and Authenticator switches for ISE and it has no where mentioned that part of the config.

Yes, its needed. The http/s server within the swtich is used to grab the http user traffic and redirect the traffic to the CWA portal, or a device registration portal, or even to the Mobile Device Management (MDM) onboarding portal. .

I am not sure what that means, but I will research it after I post this.
