6210 & 6310i on PCSync 4.81 WinXP Pro SP2

Hey folks.
I've recently gotten a 6310i to the 6210 I had, now I tried using the Content Copier from 4.81 to get my contacts etc from the 6210 to the 6310i.
Weirdest behaviour ever. My connection type is Infrared. I start IR on the 6210, set it next to my Acer NB and *pop* there's a connection. I can even use Content Copier to backup my phone. (Even thought 4.81 doesn't support XP SP2)
Now I switch off my 6210 and start up my 6310i, fire up infrared on the phone, put it next to the Notebook and... Nothing. I restart my machine, set the 6310i on IR next to the Notebook, and the Nokia Connection Manager needs a while, then shows a 6310i available.
However, Content Copier finds no usable phone.
2 Questions:
1: How do I get Content Copier to recognize the 6310i and copy the backuped data onto it.
And 2: to which version of the PCSuite can I upgrade to properly run the software on XP SP2 and still get the fancy functions working on my phones?
Thanks for any help, Kai

Depends on what you consider the fancy functions ? It is really more about the fact your phone 6210 and 6310i do not support too many of the newest PC Suite (6.81.13) functions. (like you cannot really put any music to your phones, but the old Pc Suite for example had a Phone editor with messaging support that I personnally liked more than the current one))
I understand you still have both phones ? Try udgrading to Pc Suite 5.8.
You find it from www.nokia.com/pcsuite, if you select say 6230 and then windows 98se/Me version. I think it leads you to rather old 5.8, but it is certainly newer than 4.81 and I think it was the first version I used to use with my good old 6230 and XP

  • Re: Installing WinXP Pro SP2 / Boot Camp - Drive Bay 2 - which partition?

    I am stuck and I can't seem to find the answer through Google searches.
    I have a Mac Pro and I am working on installing WinXP Pro SP2 on a second SATA drive. It is a 500gb drive by Western Digital and it happens to be the same size as the Mac OSX drive - 500gb.
    Because they are alike in size I can't tell which is which in the installer. Here are my options:
    476938mb Drive
    H: Partition 1 (Unknown) - 476938 free
    476938mb Drive
    I: Partition 1 (Unknown) - 200mb free
    C: Partion 2 (Unknown) - 476938 free
    My guess is to install WinXP on the H: partition and I just want to confirm this as I don't really wish to wipe out my MacOS on the drive in Bay 1.
    Can anyone confirm this? I wished this was addressed in the Boot Camp Installation Guide. They only address one drive that is partitioned, not two seperate drives. Also nothing listed shows up with the label BOOTCAMP.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

    Pull your OS X drive.
    XP and Vista 32-bit only give you 1.9GB of RAM.
    If you don't need native access or 3D you might just want to later use it with Fusion, VirtualBox or Parallels.
    Apple uses GPT (GUID) which creates those small 200MB and 128MB partitions you see that are essential.
    For me, I would just format the drive as MBR, and FAT/MSDOS or if you have NTFS from MacFUSE or Paragon, format as NTFS (preferable), and pull OS X and then install.

  • Using WinXP Pro 64 Beta and WinXP PRO SP2?

    I could not get Games (Half life, Counter Strike, Doom) to work using my beta system. Every time I launch a game the OS gives me the DEP error. I select "allow all". Still no go.
    I installed the HD from my old Pentium Based PC(as slave)which is loaded with WinXP Pro SP2 and everything else in the world. I don't have the origional CD because it was loaned to me from my company(Which is why I loaded Beta to this AMD system in the first place). I work from home sometimes. (good excuse?).
    I can see all of the files in the old drive using explorer. I tried launching the games from the explorer and got the same negative results.
    How do I get the correct Via, AMD, MSI, etc drivers on my XP-32 bit HD so I can boot to it?
    Is There a way to run both OS at same time. This chip is hypertheading, so theoretically it acts like two processors?
    I now have 3 80G HD. One with WinXP ProSP2, One, 64-bit Beta, One on SATA drive with XP Home SP2 (unregistered)lost that key too--it was a disk that came with a Dell Laptop.

    hi
    you should really do a clean install for the OSes as the CPUs are differant and need differant drivers etc, most poeple who try to transfer HDDs have probs, until the re partition, format and install.
    Many systems can co exist, the boot under XP 64 will find installations and form a boot screen to access them all.  Your going to need a XP CD to reinstall I fear. but then you might be lucky,  if you formatted 1 disk, loaded XP 64 bit edition and let it set the C:> drive with Boot files and drivers you might get away with it.

  • SATA 3GB/s Setting In WINXP Pro SP2 For K8N SLI/FI

    I have been trying to resolve this issue for a while with no sucess. I have contacted numerous sources and no one can solve this so I hope you people can.
    I have two SATA II 3GB/s HDDs installed on a MSI K8N SLI/FI w/ver. 1.8 BIOS. I cannot get these drives to run at 3GB/s. The drives are a WD2500KS w/02.01C03 firmware and a Seagate ST3250410AS - Barracuda 7000.10 w/3.AAA firmware. All jumpers are removed from each drive. I have tried diff. SATA cables. You name it, I tried it. This includes loading and not loading SATA driver via F6 at OS install time and using diff nVidia SATA drivers; 6.66, 6.99, etc.
    The problem is that when I view the speed setting options for the nVidia SATA controller in WIN XP Pro SP2, I see all three options shown 1.5 GB, 3.0 GB, and PIO 4 with 1.5 GB set as default. I have tried to manually override to 3 GB but upon reboot, it goes back to 1.5 GB? The Seagate drive has NCQ enabled by default.
    I looked at the SATA driver WIN XP registry entries for each drive and SataSpeedSupported is 3 and SataSpeedAllowed is 1? Also appears UDMA is being downgraded from 128 to 64? I have tried to override both these only again to have XP reset them back to their original values on reboot. It is as if XP will not allow any option above 1.5GB?
    Finally, the drive speeds are great. I am getting avg. sustained speeds of 80 MB/s on the Seagate and around 60 MB/S on the WD per HD Tach. Also appears that the drives are running in ATA133 mode?
    Is their a problem with XP SP2B recognizing newer SATA 3GB/s HDDs

    As far as peaks and valleys on the HD Tach display, it's fairly smooth. Starts in the low 80s and goes to about 90 for the first 120GB or so and then gradually drops to around 50 at the end of the drive. When I was running with the default MS default PCI IDE drivers, I was getting a few large downward spikes.
    Use BIOS defaults is set on by default. Setting it on or off makes no difference in setting or performance.
    As far as BIOS setting to 1.5GB that's what I thought initially but on a EPOX nForce board I have that only supported 1.5GB, the 3GB option was never shown as an option. So it appears to me that the BIOS is indeed passing the 3GB setting to XP. It looks to me like XP is downgrading these drives to 1.5GB and for the life of me. I can't figure out why. What I did as a prior experiment was to set the SataSpeedActive to 2 and bumbed up the UDMASupported registry settings to the max. 127. That resulted in the 3GB option being shown as the default. Ran a couple of benchmarks at that setting but results were the same as 1.5GB except that the max. speed bar on the nVidia SATA controller showed 300MB. When I rebooted as I stated previously, the settings went back to 1.5GB in the SATA controller display.
    What I am wondering is if there was an earlier ver. of the m/b that only supported 1.5GB? I bought this board a couple of months ago from the MSI online store and it was an open box sale. What is strange is the four SATA board connectors are orange and every pic. I have seem of this m/b on the web shows purple connectors? MSI swears the board I have supports 3GB SATA?
    On other point. Everest shows the SATA port transfer speed at 300MB in both it's Windows and ATA device displays?
    Also, when I look at the driver properties, it is shown as a PCI device. Is that right? If somehow these drives were running off the PCI bus instead of the CK08-04 chip, that would explain the speed limit factor.

  • Viewing Threads In WinXP Pro SP2

    Hi all,
    I installed Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.1.0) WinXP Professional SP2 and tried to use Administrative Assistant to view the background processes/threads. It seems that either there is a bug somewhere or I missed some steps. The dialog box always displayed nothing - no thread.
    Here is what I've done. In Admin Assistant, I right clicked Computers->database->instance_name. I first used 'connect database'. A list of users and roles then displayed. I then chose 'Process Information' under the same menu. But the dialog box was empty. I've double verified that my database was started (i could select table in sqlplus).
    Why there was no thread displayed? Did i miss some steps?
    Thx for any input.

    Alternate solution to your problem.
    You can make use of v$bgprocess and v$process dynamic views.
    Use following query
    select a.name,b.spid from v$bgprocess a,v$process b where a.paddr=b.addr;
    Hope so this will solve your req.

  • WinXP Pro SP2 XE works, VS 2005 Developer tools won't

    Visual Studio 2005 Oracle explorer sees nothing.
    Took me 2 days to figure this out
    Copy the tnsnames.ora file from:
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN
    To the new home directory created when you installed Oracle Developer Tools for VS 2005, probably something like :
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\Client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN
    Now Oracle explorer will see the XE database when you add a connection.
    If you want to access your database via HTTP and have your XE server installed on an XP Pro SP2:
    By default, Windows XP Pro SP2 Firewall blocks external access to your database on port 8080.
    You must enable HTTP access via Administration on your XE Server. You must also turn the Windows firewall off on the server machine or insert an exception for TCP port 8080 in the Firewall. Firewall settings are located at control panel, firewall, exceptions. Stop the firewall, insert the exception, then start the firewall up again.
    Have fun. Learning is so rewarding.
    Bruce

    Well done.
    I encourage you to post this in the XE forum as well. Gives credit where credit is due - in the forum that can hugely benefit from such info.

  • Neo2 Platinum - WinXP Pro sp2 won't restart, replaced Athlon64 with Athlon64-2

    I did a cpu chip replacement of my Athlon xp 3200+ with an Athlon xp-2 3800.  ($78 form NewEgg).  My windows xp pro, sp2 found the chip so no new install.  I used the AMD drivers for multichip and the WindowsXP-KB896256-v4-x86-ENU.exe to update my os.
    Now, my pc won't do a restart.  It closes widows but then stops without going to the bios post screen and restarting.  I have to do a shutdown to off and then push my on button to get back to windows.  A lot of application updates ask for restarts on installs or updates.  I never had this problem with the single cpu.
    Has anyone else had this occur?  Is there a fix?  My new cpu runs a bit hotter than the old.  I get core temp. 42 C and AMD 64 temp. 41-48 C in SpeedFan.  (case temp. 18 C)  How does this compare with others with this board and cpu?

  • Synch bombs WinXP  Pro SP2 on two different iPods

    OK, here's my issue and I haven't seen anyone report anything quite like it.
    I have two different iPods: a 60GB and a very new 160 GB Classic.
    Both "fail" synch test in iTunes but the test output is not helpful in explaining "why."
    I have about 40 GB of mp3 and audiobook files in iTunes.
    If I "restore" either machine and put them on autosynch they will gl through importing all 6,000+ items (as indicated by the iTunes progress window) and then, suddenly, you end up looking at a blank black screen (not the GUI) with flat cursor blinking at upper left...computer hung up stone cold dead.
    If you power down the computer, the iPod will recognize it has been disconnected. Examining it (both) then gives you your various playlists, mostly without content, and a few (like 8 or 10) mp3s and audiobooks at max.
    If I load the playlists manually, one-by-one, I can upload all the content and the iPods work OK (but still fail synch tests).
    After uploading the bulk of the material, I can put them on autosynch and make minor changes such as adding a song or two and they will synch to completion. But neither will execute a complete upload without crashing on autosynch although placing the same amount of content manually works OK.
    Anyone ever see this behavior?

    Pull your OS X drive.

  • SB Live! WinXp Pro SP2 probl

    I installed my old SB Li've! card in my new system (Athlon64 3500+, MSI K8n Neo2 Platinum). Windows recognized the card and installed its own drivers, I reboot and everything is working properly. I install the Li'veDRV-pack driver pack, which seems to go OK, I reboot, I hear part of the log on sound and then the sound cuts out. Then there is no sounds comming through the card. The creative diagnostics list everthing as a pass, and the speaker test work, but I get no sounds from windows or any applications.
    I have tried to uninstall and reinstall to no evail. I think this is an SP2 issue but there is no obvious error to go on.
    Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

    Mdidonato,
    Try this:
    Go to Control Panel/Systems, then go to the advanced tab. On here there will be a button for performance Options, click on this. In here there should be a tab for Data Execution Prevention. Set this to "turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select". You will now want to add the CThelper program to the list in here, it is typically located in c:\windows\system32. Then reboot the system and see if you get sound.
    The DEP error is caused by a feature on your processor called "Enhanced Virus Protection (AMD)" or "Enahanced Disable Bit (Intel)" or NX (No eXecute) Bit in non-trademark speak. This is a new way to prevent buffer overflow exploits from effecting your system, however it can have some drawbacks. Let's see if disabling this helps us fix the problem.

  • WinXp Pro as Virtualbox Guest can't ping router/internet

    Hi:
    I am running Arch 64 and installed virtualbox_bin 2.0.4-1 from AUR and guest additions 2.0.2-1 from AUR.
    I have installed as a guest os, WinXP Pro and set up bridge networking per
    http://mychael.gotdns.com/blog/2007/05/ … -bridging/.
    My Arch host works fine (it can access the internet and ping the guest WinXP Pro). My WinXP Pro guest can ping my Arch host and other local machines on my network. However it cannot ping my router or access or ping the internet.
    I log onto the WinXP Pro as the Administrator and I have the firewall disabled, so I don't think it is being blocked on the XP side by anything.
    As far as Arch goes, I have tried adding the host name of the WinXP Pro machine to /etc/hosts and put the ip adress of the XP machine into /etc/hosts.allow. Neither of these actions resulted in success. I don't think I have a firewall or other special security measures on my Arch? I just did a fresh ftp install yesterday and did not add ssh or other security measures that weren't included in the default install and the base-devel install.
    My search of the forums turned up a similar problem to mine that was solved by removing the firewall in the WinXP guest. I have already done that still without success.
    My uneducated guess is that the gateway ip is not getting to the guest. I am using static ip for both the Arch host and the WinXP guest. The WinXP guest says that it is connected and reports no problems. I tried using dhcp on the XP guest but that didn't work either.
    Here is the network section of my /etc/rc.conf
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    BRIDGE_INTERFACES=(br0)
    bridge_br0=(eth0)
    br0="br0 192.168.1.201 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
    eth0="eth0 0.0.0.0 promisc"
    INTERFACES=(lo br0 eth0)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.1.1"
    ROUTES=(gateway)
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Floris:
    Thanks for the reply.
    I originally tried the Arch Way without success, that is why I tried the other way.
    However at your suggestion, I have tried the Arch Way again, with the same results. That is I can ping other computers on my network but I can't ping my router nor access the internet from my guest.
    Seeing that I have the same problem regardless of which method I use leads me to believe that it must be something simple and obvious that I am doing wrong. But what??! I have no idea.
    Any thoughts you have would be much appreciated.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro run processor 100% on WinXP Pro SP3

    Recently, this Dell Inspiron notebook (WinXP Pro SP3, 1GB Ram, Pentium M processor) runs the processor 100% within 10 seconds of when Acrobat starts.  This is a relatively recent change in behavior of Acrobat.
    So I Unintalled Acrobat (which took an hour with the processor also running 100%) and reinstalled (with MSIexec.exe running 100% during installation for 30 minutes).  But it did install successfully.
    When Acrobat.exe starts, it still runs the processor at 90%+, even when NO PDF file is open.
    Any suggestions.  Could this situation/probem be associated with WinXP SP3?
    Thank you for suggestions.

    As I recall I do not get such behavior on my XP tablet (SP3) and AA7. At least I have not noticed it and I use Acrobat a lot.

  • Can I use WinXP Home serial number using WinXP Pro install disc

    Hello everyone,
    I am going to downgrade from Vista to XP (my DELL machine was originally XP Home) but I don't have my old XP install files anymore.  I did do have a Windows XP Professional SP3 install disc.  My question is:  Would I be able to use my serial number using the WinXP Pro install disc for a clean install?  (I am going to format my C drive.)
    Thanks!

  • BIOS Compatibility between WinXP Pro and Vista Home Premium

    I want to install WinXP Pro on my pc.  I have a Desktop 3000 J115, Model 7387-A11 and it came with Vista Home Premium.  I want to make sure that the BIOS can support either OS.  If it cannot, I would like to know how to get the correct BIOS.  I realize that there may be a few BIOS settings that are different between the OS's.
    Thanks

    This is not a right forum to post this problem. You should post it in Database General Forum.
    I've Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit.

    The first one worked perfectly.
    On the second one, when I run the downloaded exe, I get the "Extracting" message, but when it goes up to 100%, the setuup window never opens.  And no error messages are displayed.  I poked around and found a log file that was produced.  It includes the following:
    GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
    System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU
    ## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!

    Any help would be appreciated.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    I think I may have solved this problem.
    I have a Windows XP Pro (SP3) PC that was experiencing this issue.
    Immediately after the "extracting" window went to 100% and closed, nothing happened.  The software installer/setup windows never displayed.
    Each time I tried it created a log file that started with this:
    Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
    ## GetValueByLang( f->c_str(), _T(Version), _T(LanguagesInthisCD) failed
    System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU
    ## The system language is ENU, but it isn't on our CD!
    There were other error messages after that, but they all stem from lines 3 and 5.
    Something was preventing the setup program from recognizing that the ENU language files ARE present in this download.
    By comparing two PCs, one with the problem, and one that worked just fine, I saw that the one that was failing had AutoRun disabled via a registry setting.  I temporarily removed this from the registry on the PC that was failing and the setup launched and ran like it was supposed to.  Here are the first few of that log file from the same PC, a few minutes later, where the only difference was that I had removed the offending registry setting:
    Parsed command line: ".\Setup.exe"
    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf
    System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU
    We are using the system language=ENU, which is on our CD!
    As you can see, the "(LanguagesInthisCD) failed" message (Line 3) has disappeared, and line 5 (now line 4) shows that it succeeded in recognizing that the ENU language setup files are present.
    So, if you are experiencing this problem and you are comfortable working with the system registry, here's how I got it to work on my PC:
    Start regedit
    Navigate down this tree
    -HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    - - SOFTWARE
    - - - Microsoft
    - - - - Windows NT
    - - - - - CurrentVersion
    - - - - - - IniFileMapping
    Below that, look to see if there is a key named "Autorun.inf"
    On my PC (the one with this problem) the value for this key was "@SYS: DoesNotExist"
    If your registry has this also, it may be the cause of your problem.
    In the left pane of regedit, right click on Autorun.inf and select "Rename" from the popup menu.
    Change the name to something like "Autorun.inf.hold"
    Close regedit
    At this point I rebooted my PC, but I don't know if that it actually required.
    I ran the downloaded driver file.  It extracted, and the setup program started like it was supposed to.
    When that was done, I went back into regedit and renamed "Autorun.inf.hold" back to "Autorun.inf"
    This was enormously frustrating for me, and (if you need it), I hope this solution works for you.

  • How to install WinXP Pro over W2k on the Satellite Pro 6100?

    Hi there,
    I have brought a 2nd hand Satellite Pro, Model version SP6100 (PS610E-029ZV-EN), P4 1.7Ghz, 512Mb, 30GB, with Windows 2000 Pro installed.
    I cannot get the wireless to connect to my router. The switch is in the correct position.
    I have been advised that it could possibly be a conflict between the wireless facility and Win2000 Pro. Therefore I want to change to WinXP Pro using the key supplied with the laptop from new (dual OS). However I can't get it to reformat using an WinXP Pro disk at start up, the disk is ignored and Win2000 Pro loads. If I use the recovery cd (start with holding C down and release when it runs up) something begins which I presume to be an installation sequence however within seconds I see a reference to a z drive(?), a brief display of three rows of "invalid drive specification" and it again loads Win2000 Pro.
    Can anyone advise how (or if!) I can reformat?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

    Possibly its a wrong booting order but usually after pressing the C button the notebook should boot up from the CD.
    You said the drive does something and I think the booting from drive was activated but the drive is not able to read from the medium.
    For me it sounds like a drive malfunction.
    By the way: Check in the device manager if your notebook has installed WLan card. I think you cannot connect to WLan router because the card was not installed. The WLan switch is available because the WLan card is optional for this notebook. You know?
