6210 inkjet all in one

A very small plastic piece in the back left side hinge broke. Now the lid will not close and the printer is inoperative. Can I get theis fixed? Or is it new printer time?

I have a B110 printer which has been working fine until now. Now when I print I get several black vertical smug lines running the full length of the page. Done several cleaning operations of the inkhet print heads including the most intensive and nothing seems to improve it. Any ideas anybody?

  • Which wireless all in one printers work best with ipad 4

Please help me decide which wireless all in one printer works best with the ipad 4.  I am looking for better photo printing quality, but not the very best.  I am concerned mainly with being able to set up the printer using only my ipad 4 and wireless router, as I do not own a PC with a cd/rom.  I am also interested in which brand of compatible printers is less expensive to buy ink and paper for.  I would prefer a more compact unit.  Thank you in advance for any advice.

These days I prefer Brother printers. They appear to have engineered their printers with AirPrint as well as OS X compatibility from the start, unlike certain others who appear to have included it as an afterthought.
Brother's models are inexpensive, their ink is also inexpensive and lasts a long time, and their photo quality is at least as good as anyone else's. They have a two year warranty and lifetime free technical support with people who understand Apple.
Read the reviews (Amazon for instance, but be sure to read user reviews on the various manufacturer's websites as well) and decide for yourself.
Brother™ Monochrome Laser Printer and All-in-One models now support AirPrint.
Brother™ Color Inkjet All-in-One units now support AirPrint.
I positively detested every inkjet printer I ever had until I bought the Brother.

  • I'm running 10.5.8, trying to print from Word 08 to a HP C5180 all in one, getting random text along top of first page then the printer keeps feeding paper through.

I downloaded the driver and software from HP for my OS, during installation it says HP Monitor Tray? quit unexpectedly, then it says installed successfully.  I opened Word 08 for Mac, typed a test page, hit print, and the first page came out with three lines of words and numbers, then the printer continued to feed blank sheets through?  I tried printing from TextEdit and it says "Textedit quit unexpectedly." Please help, I am new to the Mac and this is driving me nuts.  Thanks.

That happens when the printer driver sends binary when ASCII or something else is expected. It ususally means the driver is goofed up.
If this is an inkjet all-in-one, most of those are "dumb" printers that have a "monolithic" driver that does the imaging on the Mac, then sends the bitmap to the printer.
The default for Mac OS X Printers is to send Postscript to the printer. So if there was any trouble installing the driver or setting up the Printer, it would end up a generic postscript, and that would go badly.

If you require AirPrint compatibility, or if there is any possibility you may need it in the future, limit your search to printers that specifically indicate AirPrint compatibility.

I have no affiliation with Brother but theirs was the first inkjet printer or "all-in-one" I have ever owned that simply works as well as the Macs I am accustomed to using. I positively detested every inkjet printer I ever had until I bought the Brother.

  • What is best all in one printer for my new MacBook Pro ? Needs to make very high quality photos.

What is best all in one printer for my new MacBook Pro ? Needs to make very high quality photos. Using USB connection.

That's a difficult one but I'd always go for HP as they make so many excellent models that you'll always be able to buy the cartridges from almost anyone.  Theyre darn good printer too.  I have four in the office here and one of them is a very neat flatbed with exceptionally high tonal qualities.  One of their cheaper models is the HP 5520 A4 inkjet all-in-one - CMYK.  Good value at £70 and 4800 x 1200 DPI.

  • 10.5.1 broke wireless printing to HP 6210 All In One

    That's my educated guess.
I got a MacBook in Nov. last year. It came with 10.5 pre-installed.
I disconnected my existing HP 6210 All In One from my wife's blueberry iMac and plugged it into the USB port on our Airport Express.
Wireless printing worked two or three times. We don't print that much or that often. I was so excited that we could print wirelessly.
At some point I installed to 10.5.1. Pretty soon actually. Probably less than a month after getting the computer. I'm almost 100% positive that it was AFTER that point that this problem started happening and I've installed 10.5.2 (which was supposed to fix wireless printing issues.) It's still happening. Here's what happens.
    • While connected to the Aiport Express, The printer shows up in the list or printers. Several times I've deleted it and re-added it since this problem started. It shows up as a BonJour printer and it's the only way one can add it. The Mac even picks the right driver.
    • System preferences shows the printer in the printer list, and it shows a green light next to it, and it says "Ready, Idle" (or something to that effect.)
    • I send a print order from say, Safari.
    • The print queue for the HP opens.
    • The print queue shows "Opening printer connection" and "Connecting" and it stays like that for a long time until the queue stops itself. The "Pause printer" button turns into "Resume".
    • If, while the print queue is trying to connect, one plugs in an Ethernet cable into the MacBook, the printer all of a sudden begins printing any and all print orders in the queue. Note that the Ethernet cable is connected to the same Ethernet hub as the Airport Express.
    • One could also send print orders while the Ethernet cable is connected, and this works just fine, but that's not the problem.
    • If, while the print queue is trying to connect, one plugs in the USB cable that is connected to the printer directly into the MacBook, this does absolutely nothing. The print queue just hangs.
    • I went to the HP website, and downloaded what appears to be a new set of drivers, and setup software. Installation went fine, BUT I could not "set up" the printer until I connected the USB cable that is connected to the printer directly into the MacBook. Again, that's not the problem.
    • The HP website also says that Mac OS X 10.5 has the necessary drivers and no installation is needed.
    • The HP website also has a page that lists instructions to set up an HP device on a Wireless network. The instructions involve making sure that the device is set up for wireless capabilities, and connecting to it via BonJour and some other stuff. I can't get very far into this process, because I've been over all the menu options on the printer itself and I can't see anything about wireless setup. I've also looked at the manual (PDF) and there's only one single occurrence of the word "wireless" and it has nothing to do with setup. I forget what it's about right now. It's on the second to last page or somewhere near the very end.
    • So that's where I am right now. New drivers, no printing. It worked with 10.5 and I strongly suspect that 10.5.1 broke it. And that 10.5.2 did not fix it at all.
    • I would like to test my theory by reverting to 10.5 but I've already had to re-install the OS once and recover from a backup once after re-formatting the internal HD. Better not mess with that.
Any comments and/or questions that would help me fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Good news. It appears to be fixed!
Of all the things I've done, I'm convinced that what fixed it was resetting the printing system. A forum linked to from another place I posted this question mention that it helped others. I found how to reset the printing system in Leopard by searching for it online.
I went to System Preferences > Print & Fax and right clicked on the left had sidebar. The contextual menu had the command "Reset Printing System". This warned me that it would delete all my printers. I said OK. Sure enough all my printers were gone.
For good measure, did the following:
    - I re-installed the new HP software.
    - I re-set up the HP 6210 while connected directly through USB using the HP setup Assistant. This process adds the printer both as a printer and as a Fax in System Preferences > Print & Fax.
    - I opened the print queue and the utility and print a test page using this direct method.
    - I disconnected the HP 6210 from the computer and connected it to the Airport Express.
    - I went back to System Preferences > Print & Fax and clicked on the plus sign to add another printer
    - (additional note) In the resulting dialog box, I tried adding the printer as an IP printer (using the Airport Express' IP address) but for some reason could not find the right driver (I was looking for one with the term "OfficeJet"--more on that below). I picked a different driver knowingly and got a weird message about the software being incomplete. Sure enough, printing to this new printer added this way with the wrong driver did not work at all. I decided to try the OS's own automatic way to add the printer (see below).
    - In that same dialog window referenced above, I clicked on the leftmost icon (I think it says "Default") and the (at this point wireless) printer was already on the list as a BonJour printer. I made sure to give it a different name than the already added, direct USB connected (same) printer by adding the word "wireless" so in the printer list and print dialing windows and it's print queue it's called "HP OfficeJet 6200 Series wireless" as opposed to "HP OfficeJet 6200 Series" which is the original direct connected (same) printer. And the driver the OS picked automatically is "HP All In One 5.3.1" (as far I can remember--it could be something a little different).
    - I sent a print order from Safari, and boom! I started to print almost immediately! After about 5 minutes, I sent it again, and it printed again! Then I printed page one of an email from Mail, and it worked again!
    - So far so good. We'll see if this holds up.
Thanks for all the comments, suggestions and links that helped me (apparently) solve this.

  • 6210 all-in-one -- prints fine on Win 7, but right side of horizontal page will not print.

HP 6210 all-in-one installed now on Windows 7 and prints fine.  However, with landscape pages, will not print the right 1.5 inches of any NEW page I prepare, but pages prepared before on XP print fine.  I've tried all adjustments and it just doesn't make sense to me whta is going on.  HELP!!

I actually solved the problem myself by installing still another replacement set of print heads.

  • How do i disassemble the printer hpofficejet 6210 all in one ( paperjam with glue paper - gluein)

HP officejet 6210 all in one
Paper jam with selff-stick paper. I can not remove it. I tore it apart while trying to remove it, and now I can no teven see the left over self-stick paper. I need to disaasemble the unit to remove this glue paper.
Wher can I find tool or how do I diassemble it so I can remove the rest of the selfsticking paper.
    Thanks
    Charlie

The main part of the output tray is not removable.  There are a few alternatives:  the input tray can be pulled partially open and the printed pages loaded in it - it should not be necessary to remove the input tray completely. The other possibility would be to just print using the automatic duplexer.  If you are printing on plain paper or index paper this should work, it would not be suitable for printing on the back side of photo paper.

  • Fax works-print doesnt on 6210 all-in-one

I have an Officejet 6210 All-in-One.  I recently sent some faxes successfully, and could not use the printer immediately thereafter.  The fax is still working but there is an error message for scan copy or print  which says  NO CONNECTION--TURN ON CONNECT COMPUTER OR INSTALL/RUN DEVICE SOFTWARE    which I'm not savvy enough to understand or do.  Thanks, irret

Hi can you navigate to the Start menu and then into HP and the HP Solution Center? From within that, select settings (probably on the lower right side of the HP Solution Center screen. In settings, click on Printer Settings where you can change the defaults for your printer.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

Hello, I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 All-In-One Inkjet Printer.  It started out working fine, but the touchscreen got lighter and lighter and would finally go out.  Now, I cannot see the screen at all and therefore am unable to use the printer.  I tried to delete the printer from my computer and reload the driver, but the driver requires that I use the touchscreen to initiate installation of the wireless capabilities and so forth.  Without being able to have the touchscreen light up, I am unable to see and follow the directions to hook it back up to the computer.  Any ideas?  Does HP make a replacement touchscreen for this product?  I bought this one because I have another one that works perfectly at home and was hoping to use this one at work.  Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Wayne3
I saw your post about how the display screen on your Officejet 8600 has gotten lighter and lighter until the display was unreadable. I have a few ideas in mind that might help you.
Update the firmware on the printer with a USB cable plugged into the printer, and computer.
Click here to download the firmware update: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a Firmware
Try a power reset and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
I hope the steps help you! If the screen continues to have the same problem, give us a call to see what your printer options are:

  • Using Mac OS 10.6 to drive  HP officejet 6210 all-in-one

Have Mac mini using Mac OS 10.6 and HP officejet 6210 all-in-one. Cannot get HP 6210 to print program from OS 10.6.Will Mac OS support HP 6210?

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Have you downloaded the HP printer drivers for the 6210: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-76195-1 &lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=219&product=421991&sw_lang=&key=null&site=null

  • What is the best way to scan using an HP All-in-One? (HP Office Jet 6210)

I have a HP 6210 that I would like to use to scan into my Mac. When I needed to print to HP printers, I realized that I did not need additional drivers and could use CUPS (as I understand Linux printing stuff).
Is there any way to scan without installing HP software? I am concerned about ending up with bloated software that consumes my CPU even when I do not need it. I know I am being suspicious even before installing the software linked to below, but then with HP I have had bad bloated software experiences.
I hope some Mac experts know the answer
    (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-57691-1 &lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=219&product=421991)

This doesn't answer your question exactly, but still. I just got a HP J6480 all-in-one, and installed the HP software. I have to say that I'm impressed with the software. Previously, I have been very unhappy with HP software (for Windows) to the point of not wanting to buy HP again, but this software just works, and it does not use CPU when not in use. So, my recommendation would be to just install the HP software (probably similar to that of the J6480).

My HP6210 all in one printer will not print from a computer that has Vista. My operating system is Windows. The printer worked fine with my old laptop which did not have Vista. However, soon as I connected my daughther's computer, which has Vista, it will not print. My computer no longer works so I need to use hers. What can I do to get it to work? Thank you,Beeky27

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that your HP Officejet 6210 will not print from your Windows Vista computer. I am happy to look into this for you! First, I would make sure that the full feature software and drivers are installed, by downloading it from this link: HP Full Feature Software and Drivers. Then I would run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, to make sure everything is working. We will start with these steps and go from there! Hope this helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”
