6210 Navigator iSync plugin availability?

Hi,
On Download software page http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software there is news about iSync plugin availability for Nokia 5320 XpressMusic, 6120 classic, 6121 classic, and 6210 Navigator posted on 13-Feb-09 but I can't find the plugin for any of those four anywhere at the iSync page.
Has anyone found the iSync plugin for 6210 Navi yet or am I just blind?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Hi,
I´m very frustrated! I tried all the things in this board but it still doesn´t work.
It is a 6210 branded by Vodafone. I can (sometimes) connect via BT (OSX 10.5.6), iSync finds the 6210 but says, that it can´t be used. The BT-Assisstent connects but cant find any information of the Phone.
NokiaMapLoader 1.0 via USB works!
HELP! I want to sync my contacts...
Nokia can´t help me. They give a plug-in that doesn´t work but they just send  e-mails with text modules. That´s no support!

  • N95 8GB iSync Plugin available...

Just in case you did not notice:
There is an iSync Plugin for the N95 8GB available at www.nokia.com/mac.
    Kudos to Nokia!

I can get by with 2 full days with moderate use: A couple of phone calls, a bit of WLAN surfing, a bit of 3.5G surfing, showing off GPS, a couple of photos. I don't play music, but a friend of mine has gotten 6 hours of music blasting from the speakers and still have 1 bar of battery left.
Definitely not worse than my previous N73, despite having more things to play with on the N95 8GB

  • N80 iSync Plugin available - freeware

    hi
i made a plugin for iSync and the N80 - seems to work fine although i don't have the biggest address book. This means you don't have to hack iSync or buy any plugins.
you can download it for free at:

    hi iain
since found out my Plugin is iSync 2.2 only.
For iSync 2.3, go to http://www.mactomster.de/isync/ there's one there that works a treat and its free too.

  • Unofficial N97 Mini iSync plugin available

This has also been posted in the other thread but thought it worth making a thread of its own. Please go here and download and let me know if it works for you.

    Jim,
    nice work!!
Works nice for me with V0.9! The bluetooth sync is ok. Can't have the sync by usb. But I'm not sure isync works by USB cause it tells when I tried that the bluetooth is not activated so it can't sync...
Thanks so much for your time.

  • «A Nightmare called 6210 Navigator» - Part II / Ex...

In the post - «A Nightmare called Nokia 6210 Navigator» - I explained my disappointment with this new navigator model, specially for people, like me, who own and intensively used the «6110» before.
In all fairness to all of you - Nokia included - I found I should explain myself better.
I have both 'Navigator Phones' - 6110 (with firmware 6.01) & 6210 (with Firmware 3.08, updated first to 3.25 and now to 4.13, if I remember correctly) - have returned the first 6210 and will return again this second unit, mainly because of its lousy sound and 'bluetooth' crackles every time I got Map/Road directions... From which you hear the last words - only - most of the time and what makes this phone useless as a ('voiced') navigation tool.
Maybe the navigation function/program is not supposed to be the main phone feature any more, because Nokia is also using one bad/cheap loudspeaker in the 6210, while the 6110 had two good ones that worked fine against the engine/road/car noise...
My second 6210 surely confirms this is the case, as by now I know that my first (6210) returned unit was clearly not a defective one in terms of 'sound/bluetooth' capabilities - I returned it to the shop during my legal 30 day return period - because for what sound is concerned, this second unit confirms it: The phone is just like that - scrappy!
There are, however, other major problems to be concerned about...
The 'voice command dedicated button' was also removed - this function is now available through the upper right button - making it impossible to use (activating 'bluetooth', for instance) if you are inside any phone application (Maps 2.0, included)!
Has anybody tried a prototype before the phone release? Has anybody used a 6110 Navigator before? I guess not!
This is even more stupid/cumbersome, as for instance, the lower left button is free for this action (keep it pushed for more than 1 second) and would be a much more clever (and logical) solution...
It seems developers either don't waist much time balancing their solutions or haven't thought about it at all! (At least, this can be fixed by remapping the button in a further firmware update, although I doubt they care - or will, eventually, do it...)
IMO, the above described hardware shortcomings, alone, are enough to rule out this phone as a (Car/Driving) navigator unit, and no software or firmware update/release is going to (or can) alter this fact.
If you need to stay with Nokia, the (two years) 'old' «6110 Navigator», is undoubtedly a much better and user friendly 'Phone Navigation' unit - with or without Nokia's Maps application!
If you want to know a little more about other 6210's "Shortcomings & Problems', please do read further...
Maybe releasing a new model every year doesn't give them much time to think... Nevertheless it's there option and frankly it's not an excuse, at least, as far as I'm concerned!
Ergonomically there are other basic errors:
    1. The phone front 'fascia' doesn't open/slide enough for you to have space to effectively use the upper keyboard row/buttons.
    2. The lower keyboard row is placed to close to the unit's end, making it quite difficult to dial with your thumb while holding the phone in the palm of your hand.
...Sorry to say, but it's a bad/defective layout design! Again, I doubt a prototype was tested by human hands!
...And now - as it seems to be usual with the last Nokia products - The Bugs:
(Please feel free to add the ones you've found - It came a time I gave up using the phone any more!)
    1. I couldn't connect the phone by 'bluetooth' with Nokia's own/dedicated «Pc Suite v.7.1.18.0»! (I'm using Win XP Prof SP3)
A bug, the lousy 'bluetooth' sound/connection, or a defective unit?
I discovered that it only happened with my first unit, which I now conclude - was defective. (I had given up after several hours lost trying to figure out what was wrong and discovering that the 'old' 6110 still worked perfectly, even with the new/last «Pc Suite» versions and settings!)
The second phone works now flawlessly with the «Pc Suite» program, I have to say!
    2. Setting an alarm to a different day rather than the actual one, switches the alarm back to the actual day, as soon as you save it!
Another bug that 'Beta Users' seem to have forgotten. It's unbelievable how basic things like this can happen... Well, maybe they never used the alarm (or the phone), after all?
Corrected in firmware 4.13; so it seems... (However it took two firmware releases to correct it! Inexcusable, from my point of view!)
    3. When navigating, if you receive or make a phone call the 'Navigation Screen' doesn't show back again after ending the call, although you continue receiving 'road voice indications'; to have your 'Map Display/Visual Road Indications' once again you need to 'hit' the 'Start
Application Button' once again - Delirious!!!
    4. With 'bluetooth' on, if you give a 'Contacts Voice Command' you don't have sound/voice 'feed back / confirmation' for the 'dialled contact' (as you had in the 6110) - you have to look at the screen to aknowledge it - Quite unsafe if you're driving...
Last... And as usual... Some 'phone freezing', so we can rehearse (and improve) our 'Remove Battery' exercise...
Welcome to the club, thank you very much, I hope you enjoy!
There are several other 'malfunction' that I will not go into depth, as they are user/personal related, and quite frankly I'm so tired of this phone, that I don't feel like going on, and on, pointing out all those shortcomings - after all this should be Nokia's Team own home work!
The ones I pointed out are enough, at least for me, to say - bye, bye, «Nokia 6210 Navigator».
I may even continue to use my old '6110' - Why not? Not perfect, but a much better (navigator) phone - But I'm surely will looking quite closely into another brand for my next (navigator) phone!
Best wishes to all of you (Nokia, included),
    telele
P.S. - As usual, you are entitled to contradict my findings... Update the bugs list... Or even praise the «6210 Navigator» phone.
All your comments are surely welcome!
I, on the other hand, will be returning this second unit.
Sorry, but I had enough - Period.

I have also 'upgraded' from a 6110 Navigator to a 6210 Navigator and found the newer model to be considerably harder to use.
In particular, your point #4 about not having a warning beep when issuing a voice command while in bluetooth/car mode is my number 1 gripe as it makes my cars bluetooth and phones voice dialling completely useless.
If you have found a solution to that particular issue please let me know.

  • ISync Plugin for 5233 dont work in any way

    Hello,
First of all, sorry for the long post and my bad english ..
I am very disappointed with the support of Nokia in Brazil. My 5233 is runningthe latest version of software, downloaded the isync plugin 5233 and updated my mac with SL 10.6.6, Nokia original USB cable and ...
... I can not make my mac recognize or connect my smartphone!
The Nokia support in Brazil simply do not know the settings on a Mac, but ASK ME what to do to configure a mac... That seems like a joke!
I'm reading here in the forum that you can use my model phone with isync, but can not figure out what the problem.
I think that Nokia should Brazil make sure that the plugin works on all handsets sold before available for users to download ...
Using Windows on Ovi Suite for you, using the same cable and the bluetooth sync everything correctly ... The problem is even with the mac ...
On the Mac, with or without the plugin installed v2.0, I can not anything withUSB cable. By Bluetooth can only "see" my device, but the isync says it can not connect.
Details: Across the usb cable I can use the phone as a modem on my mac, enter "data transfer" to download pictures from the camera and send songs to5233, but I can not synchronize the phonebook, calendar or any other datathat would synchronized by isync ...
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    RPX

    Hi,
I have done this and it worked for my Nokia 5233 on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion via Bluetooth. I could sync my contacts, but haven't managed to sync the calendar yet.
If you have a backup of your old MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, go to Applications folder and copy iSync into MacOSX 10.7 Lion. If you don't have it, just download form somewhere else.
Go to the Asian Nokia website, where you'll find the 5233's plugin for iSync:
    http://web.nokia-asia.com/support/product-support/nokia-isync/compatibility-and-download
On Address Book, make sure that you copy all your contacts into "All on My Mac" list.
I'll came back if I manage to sync the calendar.
    Have fun!

  • ISync plugin for 6136

I hope this isn't seen as a commercial plug ... it's not intended to be.
I thought other users of 6136 (mostly BT Fusion customers in the UK I would have thought) like myself would like to know that I asked Nova Media Solutions to make an iSync plugin so that I can synchronise calendar and contacts between my Nokia 6136 and my Mac.
I tested it and it all works brilliantly ... so phone is at least 100% more useful to me than it was before.
    Go to http://www.novamedia.de/sync
Now, if the Nokia Mac data transfer beta package I see available via this forum works out for me half as well as the iSync plugin then I'll be ecstatic!

Just to let you know I can iSync my 6136 again with Leopard thanks to some very helpful tips from yotun in this thread:

  • 6210 Navigator Battery Issue

    Hi,
I just bought the Nokia 6210 Navigator, and the problem is the battery drains too fast!!! It gives a talk time of less than 60 mins.
What are the different things i can do to save battery???
    -Nelson

I checked for running apps and found that there was an automatic packet data exchange taking place. I stopped it and changed Packet Data setting to "When available" instead "When needed".
I also changed the standby theme to "Basic" from "Horizontal bar".
The above two steps have improved the battery, but only by a bit. Its still way short of the 220 mins as per the specifications.
The only apps running are Standby and Menu.
How do I check if my GPS is draining power?

  • 6210 Navigator alarm issue

    Hi
I've got a 6210 navigator since the beginning of december '08
After the issue of the changing date from friday to saturday resolved by the new soft version (4.13 last available)
    A new issue appeared
the alarm doesn't ring at the morning if the phone is off (this is better to put it under the pillow)...
    A solution ???
    Cyle

I have noticed other issue which is worst than the one about workdays (friday date stuck): just create one single alarm for the next day before 12pm, the next day 10 minutes after powering one the phone the date will change +5 days later! It's systemathic. I think the person who has developed the alarm feature hasn't a so clear idea about software development...

  • Device not listed in iSync Plugin Maker test window

I'm trying to create an iSync Plugin for my phone with the ISync Plugin Maker. I can successfully detect the device through USB connection clicking on the "Get Device Info" button. But after completing all the settings, I try to test the plugin and the device is not listed on the 'test' section. I tried refreshing the list several times and plugging and unplugging the phone on different ports.
    Any hint will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Juan

Not all plugins are available as universal binaries, meaning they will not run natively on an Intel Mac. To gave Safari see them, it needs to be forced to run under Rosetta. To do so, control-click on Safari's icon and choose Get Info. In the Get Info box there will be an option to force the use of Rosetta.
There never will be a universal binary of WMP. Microsoft has ceased development of the Mac version and the last update was mid-2003. Microsoft is recommending users use Flip4Mac which redirects Windows media to Quicktime. While Flip4Mac will install on an Intel Mac with OS X 10.4.5, it is not yet available as a universal binary. Also, many people, including myself, have problems with some streams using this plugin.

  • 6210 Navigator Update

I've looked all over this forum and can't find an answer to my problem.
I have a 6210 Navigator (RM-367), software version 3.08 and  can't update. Everytime I try to update my monile reboots after a bit and my computer claims not to haev a connection to it. It happens every time.
I followed every indication the nokia sofware updater advises, to no avail.
Any ideas on how to make it work?

You cannot update your Nokia mobile from Linux. Sadly there is no NSU available for Linux.
Backup your data, format your 6210 Navigator, and then try to update again. The format code is *#7370#. Default lock code is 12345.
I would recommend using a WinXP machine for running NSU

  • 6210 Navigator blank screen in Maps

Hey I have a 6210 Navigator on Virgin. I can browse the web, and my phone works with every other thing, except the maps.
I have the internet, WAP, and MMS settings saved on my phone, but for some reason I can't get the maps to work right.
I have version 3.0 of Ovi maps (I think its called that)
    When I load Maps:
    1. It asks me to go online and options are
    Yes
    No
    Always ask
    2. That's it. After that all I can see is a white screen. The compass in the bottom-left corner changes between a yellow and a red outline, (although sometimes it turns green and I can rotate my phone and it will adjust to show North accordingly.) The bar in the bottom-right corner [which i think is the satellite connection...?] changes. Sometimes it will be empty except for one flashing yellow bar, and other times it will be around 1/2 full with green bars, with a yellow one at the end. Directly above that it says 0.0kB. Then there is the zoom-in, zoom-out bar on the right, and in the middle of the screen there is a faded dark red circle.
If I go to Options --> Tools --> Go Online:
    1. Sometimes the compass has a green outline and will move as I move my phone.
    2. Sometimes the red dot in the centre of the screen becomes bright red.
This is all I can manage to do with Maps at the moment. It won't display streets, street names, or anything like that. And if I zoom right out enough, it will display a view of the planet and countries and stuff (not really helpful to me).
I have phoned Virgin customer support, all they tried was re-sending my Internet, WAP, and MMS settings, when that failed they told me to ring Nokia customer support.
Then Nokia told me to do all the steps I have listed, as  well as going into phone settings and un-checking bluetooth GPS, Assisted GPS etc. Which didn't fix the problem.
If you have any tips / ideas / suggestions, whatever on how to get Maps to appear and not just have the blank screen... I would appreciate it.

Hi. I'm a bit confused. Just bought a 6210 Navigator with preloaded maps for Australia. I get guided if say, I choose to walk from A to B but there is no voice guide. Also I can get all the map views (normal, 3d etc) but only a grey screen when I choose Satellite, do I need to pay for the satellite feature? Will I get more info on the maps (ie restaurants, cinemas, pubs etc) if I buy something?
    Thanks if you reply!
There are no audio instructions when you use it is walk mode.
You will only see satellite view in areas where it is available. Example, in Ireland it only works in the big cities such as Dublin. Everywhere else you just get a grey screen. You could use it in Hybrid mode which would still display the roads superimposed on the grey.
Points of Interest (POI's) are already on your phone. Just do a search for places on your phone. Additional guides are also available to buy.

  • ISync plugin for 7610 Supernova?

Anyone know where I could find a iSync plugin for 7610 Supernova?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi guys, I tried and re-tried your soultion translated from macuarium, but no way: i just don't get it to work for me (I've got an italian 7610 supernova), as iSync won't ever recognize the phone. The only way to have it work was to build a plugin (similar to yours) following James Lloyd's advices and original Series 40 plugins (http://www.james-lloyd.com/forum/isync-plugins/nokia-series-40-isync-plugin/).
That way I managed to have my MacBook (Leopard one) see my 7610, but it will stuck at 97% syncing and then... "connection lost" (???).
Quite obviously, something is wrong if you succeeded with your solution and I don't. Could you please help me making some points clearer?
For example, you say "in the same package folder" locate .plist file etc etc. Ok, but could you please tell me EXACTLY the path to this .plist file? I found one, but it isn't in the SAME folder (and in fact your solution won't work). BTW, James Lloyd working path is completely different from yours...
Those of you who managed getting it work, could they please be a little more specific on the steps we'll have to follow (reporting for example phone language, iSync version, OS version... anything that could help troubleshooting)?
In the meantime, as far as it goes, this is what I did following J.L.'s instructions:
     - navigated to Contents >Plugins > ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice > Contents > Plugins > Nokia-6131.phoneplugin > Contents > Resources
     - Replaced entire MetaClasses.plist content with the one I attach below
     - Placed .tiff image in parent folder as well as in the same folder your solution indicates (didn't understand which one will work, so went for both )
     - Restarted the newly modified iSync package and turned on Bluetooth on both phone and MacBook
     - Started syncing
As I said, with your solution I had troubles: iSync kept sayng "phone not supported". Now, at least, iSync is seeing my phone, although stopping at 97%. It seems the problem resides in something concerning contacts: asked also to novamedia (still waiting for their response).
At this time, new suggestions are more than welcome!!!

  • Samsung C5212 isync plugin

Any chance of getting isync plugin for Samsung C5212?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Technically, from the phones specifications, it looks as though an iSync Plugin may be feasible, but as yet there is none available.
I'm afraid it's just a case of waiting until either Samsung or a third-party releases a plugin. There's no timescale for this though - it could be days, weeks, months or never...

  • Call filter on Nokia 6210 Navigator

Hi all, I am looking for a web site to download a call filter for my Nokia 6210 Navigator such that I can block a persistent unknown caller. Thank you all for your quick help on this...

I am not sure of an available application capable of the feature you are requesting. You may want to use the call barring or call divert feature of your phone but these services can be availed from y  our network service provider. You will have to contact your network provider and ask them whether or not they offer call barring or call divert services for a specific number and you will get the settings from them. There may be a corresponding fee when you avail of such service.
