6220 Classic and New Battery Fun!

Hi
I have a 6220 Classic and purchased a new Nokia battery for it (as a spare) but when I insert it the phone after maybe 10 mins says "Insert Sim Card" but when I put the battery that came with the phone back in all is fine.
Has anyone else had this problem

Are you sure you have bought an original nokia battery and not one of the many fakes that circulate through places like ebay?
If it is an original it is very odd and can't explain why it's doing it. I would certainly return it and try another.

  • Classic and New G/L

    Hi,
Need some inputs on the scenario below:
Our client is implementing SAP and they have been acquired by another company which is already on SAP since long time but not on New G/L. The new company wants to bring the client onto their SAP instance where they are using classic G/L. But my client already went live with couple of their plants with New G/L. So we are not sure what the impact and how to bring them onto one instance when they are not on the same kind of G/L.
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • 6220 Classic and iSync (v3.0.2)

The current version of iSync (v3.0.2) is unable to sync with the 6220 Classic. Will a plug-in be made available by Nokia that will allow it to work properly any time soon? TIA

    Problem Solved!
I went to a mac store and we found out that for some reason all the data concerning the old telephones you have needs to be deleted. I had a e51 before and it wasn't enough that I took that away from the sync, I needed to delete all the files from the I sync folder concerning the previous device. (they told me that it should not be like that) After deleting everything I had in Isync and bluetooth folders under the applications I installed everything from scratch and everything worked nicely.  DO NOT choose to set up your telephone as a modem at the same time! just Sync the contacts, calendar etc.
So, it was not necessary to upload the .sis file to the telephone at all. Just to upload the file from nokia/mac and run the Isync again without the old data in it.
(took me 2 days + was a real pain in the **bleep**, just to get my summer telephone linked with my laptop...)

  • Old and new battery both ~2 hour life, recently very loud fan

    1)
My macbook pro, which was purchased April 2006, had suddenly dropped its battery life from about ~4 hours to ~2 in January. I noticed this because I traveled back home by plane with a 4 hour battery life for winter, and within weeks the life had dropped to ~2.
I already reset the system (i.e., remove battery, hold down start for 5 seconds, etc) with no avail. This was with the old battery. The apple store tried the same thing, was stumped, and decided to just give me a new battery.
The older battery was the replacement for the 'dud' my macbook pro was originally given. This new battery should be perfectly fine, but the battery life is still ~2 hours. I tried the system reset with this battery--which didn't work. I have also reduced the battery life to just about zero then charged it again--which didn't work.
Could there possibly be something wrong with the hardware? What can I do to fix it, what is the best course of action to fix this one problem?
    2)
Just a few days ago a fan in the top left corner has begun to behave strangely. It has become very loud and seemingly inconsistent even with low CPU usage. By inconsistent I mean it sounds as if it has become loose or it won't maintain a constant speed. The best description for the sound would be 'boiling water.' What could be the cause for this and how can I go about fixing this problem?
    Any input is greatly appreciated!
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.8) Purchased April 2006

Have you checked your battery's serial number against the MBP battery exchange program? I did this out of curiousity with mine and it turned that mine was one of the faulty ones! So Apple sent me a new one and I sent the duff one back. It was still fairly new at the time so it still held a good charge.
    2)
I had the fan thing but mine was on the right hand side. Your BEST bet...(what I did) open up quicktime and RECORD the noise several times at different operating conditions and save the files.
send your machine to a service centre and ask for an email address to send the files to so the technician can hear what you hear. I recorded it behaving normally as well so they could hear the difference.
The 1st time mine went in it behaved itself for them so they had to give it back to me, that's when I recorded the noises! I emailed the files before I sent my MBP back again, they took one listen and said they'd order the fans, BEFORE I sent it in. They called me to say that the fans were in so in it went for the replacement.
Hope it helps - mine sounded like it was going to explode and rip apart the inside! I can email you the files if you like?

  • New camera dies Rebel t5i with old and new battery

Camera is 12 months old and the original battery appears as if not holding a charge. After charging, the camera will come on and die when pressing the shutter button to take a picture. I purchased a new battery, charged it and the same happens again. Seems that maybe the old battery may not be dead after all. Could this be the charger or is this a camera issue. If a camera issue where do I go to get this looked at. Bought camera at best buy. You think this caliper camera would last longer than a year???

Are there any third party components involved in charging or using your camera?  Did you, for example, add a 3rd party battery grip?
I ask, because just occcasionally we'll get this sort of question where the camera fails to perform as expected but the person seeking help didn't mention the 3rd party component.  Once we find out about it and eliminate it from the test... suddenly the camera works fine again.
Canon factory batteries tend to last many years assuming you are using the original Canon charger (I do NOT like to use "fast" chargers as they stress the battery trying to charge it in a hurry and shorten it's life.)
When you insert a freshly charged battery and power it up... does the rear LCD screen come to life and, if so, do you see the battery charge level indicator showing that the battery is full?
This may be a problem with the camera itself and/or with one of it's cut-off switches.  There are two micr-switches will cause the camera to immediately power down if they are not engaged.  One is on the battery compartment door.  The other is on the memory card door.    If you power up the camera then VERY SLOWLY open these doors, you should find that you can open them about 1mm and then the camera will power off.  If you barely touch the door and the camera shuts down, then it may be that you have a bad switch.  Make sure the two doors are undamaged and able to close easily without any obstructions (if they aren't fully closed, it would make sense that your camera spontaneously shuts down.)
You may need to contact Canon service for help as there's no "setting" that would make the camera do this.  The T5i is a good camera, but it's just possible you have a problem with yours -- it happens and it's not an indicator of low quality.  I bought a new car that had a water pump failure within the first 5000 miles (that was a shock) even though everybody else with the same model car didn't have a problem with their water pump.  It happens.  Could they increase quality control to the point that it'd be very hard to get a car released with a bad water pump?  Well... they could improve build standards, testing standards, and inspection standards... that would REALLY drive up the price tag of that car... and just occasionally they'd still get a bad one anyway.  You can never get quality to 100% for any product.

  • Laptop turns off after 2 seconds on mains and new battery

    Hi everyone,
    I have a HP HDX16  model X16-1010EA
The problems and what I have done so far
Stays on for a second or 2 then powers off. I have a couple of spare mains adapters that are the same spec and fit so tried them, same things happens. So adapter looks OK.
Bought a new battery, stayed on for 5 mins (got to desktop) then powered off. Then it went back to 1 or 2 seconds before powering off.
Left it plugged into the mains without turning it on for a couple of days. Tried again, it powered up. As soon as I got to the desktop I checked the power status, it said the battery was 20% and charging, kept my eye on it and a couple of mins later it said the battery was 14% and charging, a couple of mins later 9% and charging, then the laptop died a couple of mins later.
I have removed the battery and done the 'power reset' (finger on the power button for over a min to discharge) have tried to power it on with the 3 mains leads, the lights come on for 1 or 2 seconds then it dies as before.
The mains lead light on the laptop comes on when you plug the mains lead in on the side. I have tried all 3 leads, all the same results. Any idea's will be greatfully received!
Am currently leaving it plugged in and off in the hope I get 5 mins 'on' time in a couple of days to go into device manager and do the following solution which someone else has posted, but the procedure says to remove the battery before doing this which I cannot do because it will not power up without a battery installed, so don't know if it will work. As I'm desperate, I will try anything!
    Open Device Manager
Click the plus (+) sign next to Batteries category, right-click all of the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" listings, and select Uninstall In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK. (it’s ok if you only have 1 of these).
Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
Right-click the “ACPI Fixed Features Button" and select Uninstall. In the "Confirm Device Uninstall" dialog box, click OK.
    Shutdown
    Disconnect AC
    Insert battery
Thanks in advance for any solutions coming back!

    Try a hard reset
    1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
    3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
    4) Press the power button
Please post your positive or negative results here in your thread.

  • Nokia 6220 Classic and iSync?

I'm trying to get iSync (v.2.0) to recognize my Nokia 6220 Classic phone. But it won't. I've tried downloading the Nokia iSync plug-in from their website, but each time I try to intsall the package, it says
"You cannot install the phoen plug-in on this vlume. Plaese upgrade to the latest evrsion of iSync using Software Update".
However, running Software Update doesn't find a proprietary update. Nor can I find one...?
    Thank you for any advice.

Move your iSync application back into the main Applications folder. You should never move Apple application from the default locations.

  • X40 and new battery....again

    Hello,
I have aquite old x40 which have worked 100% pefect until now. I guess the battery is original, but to my luck it still have little charging capasity in it.
I bought from ebay new (China) battery, and it looked to work ok, except: it died alltough the gauge shows something betwen 65  to 75%. I have upgraded BIOS and Power Managemet s/w with no luck.
After several removings of battery and chargening between those two batteries the new on finally does not take any current anymore. The gauge shows 75%, but I think actually it does not have allmost anything current in it. The old one works perfectly well.
    What to do?

    lead_org wrote:
return the generic battery to the seller.
Probably that is the the right move. Definitely I won't buy genuine part for a machine which's value is roughly 40 eur or less. With new original battery it's value would rise for more than a double
I tired to google different wakeup seremonies (removing ACPi etc) but with no luck.

  • Upgrade Ram, HD to SDD and New Battery for Macbook pro 2010 i7 15". (with price).

Hi, i want to upgrade my Ram, Hard Disk and Battery of Macbook pro 2010 Model with i7 processor and 15" display.
    My current configuration:
Ram: 2GB + 2GB (original with mbp purchase)
Hard Disk: 500 GB (250 GB full)
Battery: Cycles - 669 and Health - 87 % (As show by istat)
    New configuration I want:
Ram: 8 Gb best of all (what to do with the previous 2GB + 2GB Ram)
SSD:Minimum 128 Gb ( what to do with previous 500 GB

I ignored the (with price) part. Sorry.
    Crucial m4 512GB SSD - from Amazon - $389.99.
    Crucial m4 256GB SSD - from Amazon - $203.84.
    Crucial m4 128GB SSD - from Amazon - $112.87.
    Crucial 8GB RAM for 2010 15" MacBook Pro - from Crucial - $47.99.
What to do with your old RAM? Just trash it or label it and put it in an anti-static bag and put it in your 'parts' drawer. Or trash it. Or give it away. It's not worth anything.
    Good luck,

  • Equium A210 and new battery battery

    Hi...
got in touch with pc world about battery. They said I have to buy a new 1 because they are classed as consumables, even though the laptop is still in warranty
Can Toshiba do anything about battery?

    Hi
Warranty covers the battery for just one year (12 month).
So if your battery is older then 12 month the warranty will not cover the battery replacement and if you need a new one then you will have to pay for the battery.
But I think you could also contact the ASP in your country for more details. The guys should be helpful.

  • Parallel use of Classic and New GL in ECC6.0

    SAP Gurus,
We have just done an upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6.0. We currently have 3 company codes  live on the system and will be doing a rollout to a 4th entity. Is it possible to have the new GL with document splitting active for the new entity and use the classic GL for the other 3 company codes? Could we do the migration for these 3 company codes at a later date without affecting the new entity that is using the new GL functionality?
    Cheers

Well to answer some the questions:
    1. The 4th entity is a legal entity
    2. All the 4 entities are company codes and we do not use consolidation.
    3. Ideally we would like to migrate the 3 companies on SAP to the new GL to coincide with the go live of the 4th entity but we may have resource and time constraints.
Most of the answers were very helpful but I still dont have a clear answer.
For example If I activate the new GL at client level and have document splitting only for the new entity and classic for the old entities, how will this affect any intercompany posting and also the month end processes? PCA accounting is very important for all the entities
Many thanks guys.. It's seems these issues are not easily addressed in any of the SAP documentation

  • Classic BAdi and New BAdi ...

    Hi all,
I have a question regarding the new BAdi concept using enhancement spots.
With the classic BAdi's once we create an implementation it will call up our implementation when the BADI class is been called.
But with the new concept we have to explicitly call the BAdi we created right ? doesn't this mean modifiying the standard code ( If there's no ehancement section or point )?
Can someone tell me whether there is another way to call our implementation by using GET BADI and CALL BADI statement without modifying standard code ( by creating an explicit enhancement).
    Cheers,
    D.

    hi,
Classic and new BAdIs differ in a number of features that are important for migration:
    1. BAdI object
    a. With classic BAdIs, a BAdI object is created by calling a factory method, and referenced via a reference variable of the type of the BAdI interface.
    b. With new BAdIs, a BAdI object is created via the ABAP statement GET BADIas a handle for the calls of BAdI methods, and referenced via a reference variable of the type of the BAdI. A BAdI object is an instance of an internal BAdI class, which otherwise is invisible to the outside.
    2. Passing comparison values for the filter
    a. With the classical BAdIs, the filter values are stored in a structure and passed with the call of the BAdI methods.
    b. With the new BAdIs, the comparison values for the filters used to search for implementations are passed when the BAdI object is created with the GET BADIstatement.
There is no way of migrating the call of the factory method one-to-one into the ABAP statement, because GET BADI can also return an existing BAdI object, which is not possible with the factory method.
    3. Calling BAdI methods
Passing comparison values for the filter
    a. A classic BAdI can be called only once and the call positions are registered centrally.
    b. With new BAdIs, multiple calls are possible and the call positions are not registered centrally.
For the above reasons, an automatic call migration is not possible.
