6229 DAQ Card: Problem if only one connector is connected

Hi!
I'm using a LABVIEW 6229 DAQ- Card to acquire signals. Unfortunately I only connected on of the Connectors of this card and left the other one unconnected (This means that one half of the analog inputs is connected to nothing). So far no problem :-) Unfortunately I'm still measuring signals on the analog input channles that are not wired to anything if I'm measuring signals on the analog input that are wired!?
The signals of this unwired analog inputs are quite similar to those of the connected ones..
If I only measure analog inputs that aren't wired to anything I see a voltage ramp or a constant voltage of -10V as I would expect. Any idea what could go wrong? All this seems a bit strange to me :-)
Thanks for your help!

But I also don't see ghosting at the unwired channels if i'm measuringsimultaneously
at the wired channels. Only if I'm measuring only unwired channels I see ghosting at that is what seems strange to me...
If I would always measure ghosting at the unwired channels everything would be fine :-)

  • How does the PCI-6229 DAQ-card communicate with CB-68LP connector block?

    Hello!
I want to do a very simple task which is to just turn on/off a LED. I am using LabVIEW 7.1 and I have a DAQ-card PCI-6229. The DAQ-card is then wired to a connector block CB-68LP.
Now my problem is to figure out how the connector block communicates with the DAQ-card?
In the file I attached there is a picture of connector block and the device pinouts from the DAQ-card. But how do I know which of pinouts triggers some connector on the connectorblock?
Which are digital outputs on the DAQ-card?
Where can I read about this?

    Hello asc01001:
The digital pins of the PCI-6229 are labelled as Px.y, where x is the port name while y is the channel name.  For example, pin52 of the NI 6229 is P0.0; which is also port 0, channel 0 of the digital I/O of the DAQ card.
While "D GND", which are located at pin53, pin18, pin50, etc. are the negative terminal of all digital I/O of the DAQ cards.
    Please advice if this helps.

  • Only one Mac can connect

    Cheers,
my girl friend got a iMac running 10.5.4, I have a MacBook running 10.4.11. We got our ADSL connection now running, and use a ZyXEL Prestige Router to connect to the internet. The problem is that only ONE Mac can connect, which is a no-go as we often need to access the internet at the same time (working from home). I tried to put the DHCP off in the router and have it on in the Macs, didn't work, on in the router and off in the Macs, didn't work.
I read the forums but didn't find any help to my problem, and would be thankful if someone is able to help us out.

Well, I hooked up the Airport Express to the ZyXEL and turned off the WLAN off the ZyXEL, and it works fine, both Macs can connect and they don't disconnect every 30 minutes. However, to preserve some energy and possibly to get rid of the ZyXEL, does anyone know if there's a ASDL plug in which I can plug a ethernet cable in so that it goes directly from Plug to Airport?

  • Digital ı/o problem in mseries 6229 daq card

In our lab, we have a 6229 M series daq card. We want to send digital output ,
( three square waves and their direction values for driving 3 dc motors.
We will change pulses or frequencies during application). we tried to send the signals from single lines
(altogether we need 6 lines.)  but we failed. We could only send pulses from counter ports but
unfortunately there are only  2 counter ports. Can anybody help us about this problem?
If anybody could also send a labview 7.x program for this application we will be thankful.

    Hi,
You can use the correlated dio functionality of your M series board to output digital waveforms. However, you will need to construct the waveform before actually outputting the data. Here is the link to another discussion forum with more information on this including links to examples: How do I output a digital waveform?

  • Problem sending only one byte with ibwrt()

If I send only one byte of data with ibwrt() command, it doesn't work with whatever settings (EOS,EOI,..) I chose. I got the error (ENOL : no listener).
Did somebody get the same problem ?

ENOL indicates that there is no listener on the bus. This is probably not related to the settings on the controller. Are you correctly addressing a device to be a listener? If so, is there some indication on the device that it is addressed to listen?
Also, your post seems to indicate that sending more than one byte works. Is this true?

  • NI PXI 6229 DAQ Card Digital Output High/Low Levels

Hi everyone, I can't seem to find in the NI PXI 6229 DAQ spec what the Digital Output high voltage and low voltage is when I set a digital signal high and low.  What is the voltage when I set a Digital Output "HIGH" and what is the voltage when I set a Digital Output "LOW"?
    Thanks!

See the digital I/O characteristics section of the specs. Typical ttl levels.

  • Problem in only one account

*The "E" key does not work.*
The strange thing is: *the problem is only on the "Lawrence" account.*
    We have:
    1) Swapped out the keyboard.
    2) Swapped out the USB extender
    3) Removed the power connection for 1 min then replaced and re-booted
    4) Swapped the USB port.
    There was no change.
    4) *Logged in as "Guest" and the "E" key works fine.*
    5) *"E" key works on the password to log in as "Lawerence" but not in any of the programs (FCP, Word, Text Editor.)*
The only thing I can think is there is some kind of corruption within his account.....????
So the only thing I thought to do is to create another account for him, drag all of his working files to it. Still. This is pretty strange.
    Any suggestions?

Try going to /Users/lawrence/Library/Preferences/ByHost and locate all of the com.apple.HIToolbox.XXXXXXXXXXXX.plist files. Trash them. Then log out/in and see if the problem persists.

  • Does anyone have the problem of only one ear plug working on the life case for iPhone?

I have a life case for my iPhone...when I add my earphones to it, only one ear phone works...?

What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
    Try these:
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.

  • Only one computer/device connected to wireless interenet at a time, how can I change this?

I had this set up a couple years ago to where only one computer could be connected to my wireless internet. However, now that I have 2 laptops, an xbox and a Wii, I would like to change this to where more than one computer or device can be connected to my internet at a time. Anyone got a clue how to change this?
    I have a WRT54G wireless router.
    Thanks.

Have you tried to connect the devices? If so, is the router allowing you to? If not, are you getting any error messages?
By default, if you setup the router before, anyone should be able to connect to it without a problem.

  • Only one computer can connect to internet at a time!

When my modem is connected, I plug one ethernet line into one computer. That computer sometime has access to the internet, but sometimes it doesn't work, and another computer is able to access the internet. Each computer uses different cables. When one computer has internet, other computers cannot access the internet if we decide to connect via another cable. Using the same cable doesn't work, also. Sometimes, all computers cannot access the internet.
For example, this computer I am using to write this currently has internet. However, when I unplug this computer's ethernet line from the modem and connect the other computer's ethernet line into the modem, it cannot connect. (Safari cannot connect to the internet.) Network diagnosis has a GREEN light next to "Built-In Ethernet," YELLOW for "Network Settings," and RED for the rest (ISP, Internet, Server)
Lastly, in the Network Status in System Preferences, Built-In Ethernet is YELLOW and says that it has a self-assigned IP address. However, I did not self assign the IP and is set to 'Automatic.'
    Thank you so much!

Do I understand this correctly? You have one modem with one ethernet jack on it. Only one computer can have access to the internet at a time, depending on who you plug in to the modem? If the computers have wireless capability, you don't have a wireless access point or wireless router, so you can't take advantage of the computers' wireless. You don't have a wired hub or more than one ethernet jack on the modem nor do you have a stand-alone router (that plugs into the single ethernet jack on the modem) with multiple ethernet jacks, so multiple computers cannot connect to the internet simultaneously.
If this is the case, then when you turn on a computer that isn't plugged in, since there is no router there for it to obtain an address from (I'm assuming your computers are set up for DHCP), it is going to try to create/join it's own ad-hoc network and give itself a self-assigned address beginning with 169.x.x.x. (If you had a multi-port hub or wireless access point, with no routing capabilities, this is how you could set up an isolated network of computers without access to the outside world but with access to each other).
Meanwhile, your modem is either giving the plugged-in computer a 192.x.x.x or a 10.x.x.x address (unless you changed stuff in it) or it is passing your public IP address presented to it by your ISP straight through to your plugged-in computer (that was plugged when when you booted up).
So when you unplug one and plug in another, the network settings don't match. If you unplugged one and plugged in the other and then booted up the other one, I would expect to see a working internet connection at that point.
If my original assumption of your home configuration is in error, please describe how you are set up, e.g., internet<-->modem<-->router<-->computers or whatever. Maybe do that anyways, even if my assumption is accurate. Describe whether your modem employs NAT or is in bridge mode? Does it have a DHCP server and is it enabled or is it set up for static IP on your home LAN? Describe whether your router, if not built into the modem, employs NAT or is in bridge mode? Does it have a DHCP server and is it enabled or is it set up for static IP on your home LAN? How are your network settings configured in your computers? DHCP or other (what)? A visit to your modem and/or router configuration pages, to see what the external WAN address (a.k.a. public IP address) (at least the first one or two or three octets), and what do your computers' sys prefs IP address, router address, and DNS server addresses say they are, would be helpful, too (you can safely divulge publicly full 192.x.x.x, 10.x.x.x, and 169.x.x.x addresses because they are not routable). I don't know about other folks reading this, but I would need to know quite a bit more about your home network architecture and configuration.

  • My time capsule will allow only one machine to connect to the internet at a time. Connection sharing is "off" on the Airport Utility. When I try to share an IP address I get the message that "DHCP range that I entered conflicts with the WAN IP address" I

Suddenly, my time capsule will not allow more than one computer to connect to the internet at a time. On the Airport Utility on the internet tab, Connection Sharing is "Off (Bridge Mode)" When I try to change it to sharing an IP address, I get two messages that the beginning and ending DHCP addresses that the DHCP addresses I've entered conflict with the WAN address of my Apple wireless device."
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I use a DSL to connect to the internet. The modem is a Westell C90-810030-06. Two things happened in connection with the fail. I upgraded the firmware in both my Time Capsule (connected to the DSL) and the Airport Extreme (connected to my printer--used to extend the network). I also upgraded my Colof Nook to the Android Faux Tablet version. I can't imagine that that is creating some sort of mismatch.
I have now downgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule to 7.4.1 which is what I had before. Fortunately, I found the trick to downloading the older airport utility to find the older firmware. All the older versions disappeared from my computers.
I still have the same problem. Wifi works fine. If a second device connects to the wifi, then it works fine, but the first no longer has a connection.
And my Airport Extreme is not working at all. It cannot be seen by the computer. I tried resetting it. I'm going to connect it by ethernet and downgrade the firmware on it.
I appreciate any help. This is so frustrating.

  • IMac the only one that will connect with internet

I have a wireless network set up in my home office. I have an Airport wireless router and my internet service is through Frontier with a Westell 6100 modem that is probably five years old. When I set up my WiFi network with the 27" iMac, Airport Express and modem everything works fine... not super fast but DSL is all we can get out in the rural areas. I can access the internet with no problem. When I try to connect to the internet, through my WiFi, my iPhones, iPad & Macbook Pro will not connect. I can see the WiFi signal on everything but when I try to connect to the internet or email accounts, I get nothing. I have taken all of these to Strabucks and they connect just fine but at home only the iMac seems to work. This is very frustrating.
Appreciate any help or suggestions you can give.

This may take a while to solve, but we can go through the steps a little bit at a time.
First of all, what generation extreme are we talking about here?

  • RRAS issue - only one client can connect?

Hello, I have set up my server 2012 standard server and set it up as a DC and RRAS server, the VPN works perfectly but only one user can use it, the second user will always get error 800. there are enough IP slots in the LAN and it is correctly assigning
a new IP address to each new user that connects, but only one can connect at a time without error - I have searched around and couldnt find anything conclusive - is this a licensing or configuration issue?
Thank you very much for your time and consideration,
    Larry

    Hi Larry,
As far as I know, it’s not recommended to install RRAS server role on DC, since it would make the DC multi-homed.
I suggest you install RRAS server role on another server.
Here is a related blog below for you:

  • Only one device will connect to wifi via my airport Extreme

The power went off at our house recently. Since then I have been unable to connect more than one device via my airport extreme. I have tried unplugging and resetting both modem and router repeatedly. It would switch between laptops, allowing one to be connected while saying the other had no connection and to reset the router/modem. I have tried reconfiguring the airport express (a couple of times). I have tried resetting the network settings on my iphone5. I have restored the factory settings on my iphone5... On my iphone5 the Airport Utility cannot locate the Airport Extreme. It says no base stations have been found.
My husbands android mobile also cannot connect to wifi (which it previously could).
    Help please!

So it seems a night of rest has done everything a world of good!  I just turned on the second lap top, it connected to the wifi.  Then with bated breath tried the iphone5 and it connected too.  So, seems that the resets I did yesterday did do the trick, just things needed to be shut down and restarted again. Yay!

  • Media Player Problem playing only one song at a time

Recently acquired a BB Curve 8330 (OS 4.5.0.127) running on a Bell Enterprise server.  I bought a SanDisk 16G Media Card.  The card is formatted, the songs are there (about 20 albums)  I can view, scroll, choose shuffle, choose an album, choose a artist or any other option.  No matter what I try, it will only play one song at a time.  Once the song plays, it just stops and stays at the end of the song.  Periodically, the entire device will shut down and restart.  I saw somewhere else in the forum to pull the battery, wait 1-2 minutes, didn't work.  There was also a post to try to downgrade the software from 4.5.0.127, but really, is that necessary?
Is there a fix, patch, upgrade, or other I can try rather than going backwards?
    Please help.  Really frustrating.

I was having the same problem.  I found out the CD's that I ripped were not in MP3 format they were in windows media audio format.  I was able to load them to my phone and they would play one at a time or when a song got to the end it would restart my phone.  Replaced WMA files with MP3 files and it fixed the problem. Hope this helps.
