6230 & BT

Hi, I own a Nokia 6230 cellphone and I use it with the "Silent" profile activated (standard settings), so when I receive a call, the phone just vibrates and makes no sound at all. This is working as designed and the way I like and expect. First bluetooth headset I bought was a Motorola HS20 and all I did with it was pairing it against the 6230. When I got an incoming call, the phone vibrated and in my ear I received a very subtle and pleasant "beep" telling me about the call. No one, but me, realized about the call. Happy me, very happy ......... till I lost it .... Then and there my ordeal started .... I bought a Nokia HS-26W BT headset, that I still own, but I have not been able to configure it to send me a silent beep when an call is coming. I have been using it for about 5 months and I concluded that it was time to look for a replacement. Looking at the BT headset stores I saw one that resembled a lot my beloved HS20 ...., it was a Motorola HS820. I bought it but, for my sadness and disgrace, it works the same as the Nokia HS-26W .............. Any clues ??? I will appreciate them !!! Thanks.
JJVG

BTW there appears a message on the phone for a second: "Connected" and then immediately: "Disconnected"...

  • Can I put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 wireless card into my Pavilion dm4-3050us laptop?

I have been having problems with the wireless connection on my dm4-3050us laptop for several months now and am hoping to replace the wireless card in order to solve these issues.
Will I be able to put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 adapter into my machine?
If so, is there anything special I will need to do in order to make it work as it normally would? (i.e. special adapters to make it fit into the machine, driver updates, etc.)

You can use one of these:
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN module 631956-001
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 WLAN module 572511-001
It HAS to be an HP branded card with the HP number. It is not good enough if it is another card with the same wifi chip. Only HP branded and numbered cards will allow the system to POST.
    Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
See page 41. You may find that you need 3 antenna leads and the laptop only has 2. It is very hard to string another antenna lead but it can be done.
Here is the Advanced-N card on eBay which appears to have only 2 leads:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-OEM-HP-Pavilion-DV6-6000-WIFI-Wireless-Board-631956-001-/36077457082...
You will need to load the correct Intel driver and I would just have it downloaded to the laptop before you do the swap:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104707-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
Link to the Windows 7 driver above. Good luck. This should be pretty much plug and play for you but post back if you need more help.

  • 6280, 6230 and Nokia PC Suite - no calendat sync

I am using version 6.81.13.0 of PC Suite on a late-model Dell 9300 notebook. I connect using a Nokia CA-53 USB cable supplied with my 6280 phone. The PC is running Windows XP Professional SP2 with all available Microsoft patches.
Until recently, I was using a Nokia 6230 phone and an older version of PC Suite. The calendar was sent from the PC to the phone with no problem at all, and I could always refer to my phone to check my calendar. This connection used Bluetooth.
When my new 6280 arrived, I loaded the PC Suite software from the 6280 CD. The software immediately demanded an update from the Nokia website, which I downloaded and installed. After a couple of successful bluetooth connections, suddenly neither phone would sync with Outlook.
Very soon after that, no Bluetooth connection would work at all, and I resorted to the USB cable. With the USB cable, the phones communicate with the Sync software, but no data is sent to either phone. I have removed the software, used the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, reinstalled, created new profiles and tried every single option, but the system simply will not sync.
Can anyone help? By upgrading my phone, I have lost my sync facility altogether.
Here's the system info from PC Suite:
    Operating system:
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Build 2600
    Service Pack 2
    Language: English (United States)
Language for non-Unicode programs: English (United States)
    Locale: English (United Kingdom)
    Input language: English (United Kingdom)
    Nokia PC Suite:
    Version 6.81.13.0
    Language: English
    Connectivity Cable Drivers:
    Version 6.81.1.2
    Microsoft Outlook:
    Version 11.0
    Build 8010
    Bluetooth stacks:
    Microsoft Bluetooth stack
    Version 5.1.2600.2180
    WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack
    Version 4.0.1
    Build 2401

The difficulties people with XP SP 2 (with Microsoft Bluetooth) and any other Bluetooth(like Widcomm) are having, is really sad.
YOu can try to run arepair to PC Suite and Nokia Connecitivty solution from add/remove programs and see if that helps.
Also check that is the Bluetooth software you are using (I cannot tell by looking at your list), is working with the phone.
    Last resort:
I can only suggest that you start from scrach, uninstall the widcomm, Pc Suite and Connectivity solution, run Pc suite cleaner and reinstall PC Suite(includes the connectivity solution).

  • New iSync 2.2 still not working with Nokia 6230

I was very pleased to see iSync 2.2 come out yesterday and have support for the series 40 phones - however after Installing 10.4.6 on my new MacBook Pro, and opening iSync, the phone is found by Add Device, but when I go to add it I get the message:
"Your phone, 'xxxx' does not work with this version of iSync.
To enable this phone to work with iSync, contact the phone’s manufacturer or your service provider to update the firmware on your phone. For more information, visit the iSync Support website."
The picture comes up but even if I drag the phone icon to the iSync window I can not sync it - 'Turn on Device Synchronization' will not stay ticked and clicking on Sync ends in a window saying it can't sync until I add a device to iSync.
The Phone is properly paired with the computer through Bluetooth Device Setup. (Address Book works with it just fine, as does file browsing)
Has anyone been able to get their series 40 or more specifically 6230 phones working with iSync 2.2?
    Many thanks

    Same error message here.
I upgraded the phone's firmware from 4.44 to 5.50 this morning and IT WORKS great with iSync 2.2!!!!!

  • Why don't I have enough memory on Nokia 6230?

Hi: I have a Nokia 6230 and sync it regularly with my computer. I have about 700 contacts and sync a relatively full calendar from one week ago to two weeks in advance. A to-do list also synchronizes. I regularly get the following error on my computer: [Nokia 6230] The phone calendar is full. Please delete some calendar events on your phone or change the filtering options and synchronize again. And, I regularly get a "to-do memory full" error on my phone. However, the memory status on my phone says: Phone: Free memory 6.1 MB Used memory 1.2 MB Memory card: Free memory 24.5 MB Used memory 5.9 MB Size 30.2 MB As you can see, both memories are only partially used yet I get constant errors regarding lack of memory. Contacts settings are set to use "Phone and SIM". Memory Status for Contacts reads Phone: 30% free, 70% used, SIM Card 250 free, 0 in use. How can I use the phone's memory more efficiently? Thanks,

Yes, Charlie is right. With any OS, the listed minimum RAM is always enough to just barely run it. In practice, this is rarely ever enough, because as soon as you add the demands of software etc it can't keep up. I am impressed you can manage at all, quite honestly. (Smiles)
What really impresses me, however, is that someone was actually selling computers with 1G of RAM 2 years ago.  Four years ago I bought a cheapish Windows laptop, and the choice was btwn 2 or 4G. I have since worn it out (did I mention cheap?), and have inherited a four year old MacBook Pro. It came stock with 2G, so I upped it to 4G. It walks like my grannie, and I do all my 'real' work on an iMAC with 16G. Most people these days buy 8G.
The problem you may have with upgrading is that your board is probably old, too. If you do purchase a new one, ask around in here regarding specs.. and don't buy one from the person who sold you that one! (chuckles)

  • Nokia 6230 - no sound through speaker

    Hi everyone,
I'm using a UK Nokia 6230 on v04.28. For a few weeks now I've been having trouble with the speaker. Ringtones, videos and mp3's will not work at all. Keyboard tones work fine. Phone hasn't had a drop or contact with water or anything. I guess the speaker isn't busted because when you change videos or songs you can actually hear the end of the previous clip when you change - which is very odd.
In addition when switched on the phone sometimes flashes up "request cancelled" automatically I don't know if this is related.

With the two faults, if it is in warranty then you can get these fixed (assuming there is no liquid or physical damage to the phone) free of charge. If the phone is out of warranty you would be charge a small fee to fixed the speaker and to upgrade the software

  • Car kit cradle-adaptor for 6230

please can someone tell me what i need for my car kit at the moment i have a 3310 system but have bought a 6230 and need some sort of adaptor for the cradle that is in the car as it is a different plug ect can you let me know where i can buy ect

There are some cradles available to just plug in but they are not made by Nokia and there is quality issues. I would best advise you to upgrade you car kit to a new ck-7w, so you can guarentee compatability and make full use of you 6230i features, this kit will be easily upgraded next time you change phones so is a good investment.

    Does NOKIA 6230 Support themes?
    * )if yes kindly tell me how? & whats it type??does it need any program ???!!

Why does the Malaysian Nokia website say that a 6300 supports wma when the uk one says it doesn't?
Nokia Music Manager doesn't have support for WMA. So how then do you copy wma music to the phone?
My version of Nokia Music Manager has an option to search my PC for music, but doesn't find anything! I have some MP3 and mostly WMA. With MP3 selected it still doesn't find anything.
My experience with Nokia Suite over the past 6 years is less than favourable. Any free alternatives out there?
Do I have to get a Micro SD to SD converter and copy the files to the Micro SD card to get it to work?
Software supplied is not exactly slick!

  • Connect ibook to nokia 6230

I can connect my mobile phone (Nokia 6230) to my computer but when somebody calls me, the window doesn't appears. Why? What can I do?
    Thank you.

Accept the phone call on your mobile phone – just kidding.
I am unsure if the Nokia 6230 is supported by the Apple Address Book. Either try another user for which it works, patch the Apple Address Book yourself or go for BluePhoneElite.

  • Problem connecting 6230 to Vista PC with Toshiba B...

    Hello,
I recently got a new laptop with Vista installed. My 6230 used to connect well with my former PC (Win XP).
Initially I managed to have PC Suite (6.83) work once and downloaded my contacts to the PC. Then sync stopped working for contacts but other functions were ok. Suddenly my computer asked me to check the Bluetooth drivers (don't know what stack it used, probably Microsoft) that apparently were not recognised anymore. I upgraded (following instructions from Asus website) and got the Toshiba stacked installed.
Now PC Suite still "sees" the 6230 but cannot link with it. The 6230 doesn't prompt for a pin. Outside PC Suite, Bluetooth connection manager manages to have the 6230 prompt me for a pin, and connect, but it would disconnect after 2 seconds.
Has anybody experienced that sort problem ? Is it more likely to be Vista-related, or my driver is faulty, or the 6230 is, or is PC Suite ?

Did you resolve this problem as I have the same problem trying to connect using Vista via bluetooth. Prior to upgrading it all worked ok on XP.

  • Nokia 6230 owners i need help

i have a nokia 6230, i cracked the screen and now it only lights up. i can take pictures and record video and i would like to attach it to my remote control car and record video but the video is in a low setting and it would be a great help if someone could tell me what keys to press to put the video record in the highest setting and the longest record time. many thanks.

Most probably it seems a hardware problem, for which you have to take it to Nokia Care..
Just try a 'Factory reset' before that..

  • PXI-6230 analog input trigger setup

    Hi,
Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to configure the PXI-6230 card to implement 3 of the analog input channels as a digital input trigger? The input to each channel is TTL pulses. I want to have a trigger event on every pulse from any of the three inputs. I'm using LabVIEW 8.5. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey HarveryL,
I'm not sure it is possible to do this. Can you give me some more details on your application, and why you want to use the analog inputs as a digital trigger? Here is an article on how to use PXI triggers with the analog input and output, perhaps you can adapt that code to your purposes. I'll continue to look into this for you, but any more information you can provide would be appreciated. Have a great week!

  • Nokia 6230 - URGENT HELP!!!!!!

I have recently purchased a 512 mb memory card for my 6230 and it was working fine until yesterday. When my memory card is insirted my gallery says it's empty and when i take my memory card out it says the same and i have to leave the memory card out and leave the phone for about 1 hour then the gallery goes back to normal.
    Can anybody help please
    Many Thanks

Memory Cards sometime create problems like this. First u must check that you inserted it correctly & card shutter is off. Then wait for a while, your phone will synchronize it in few seconds and then try to operate your phone. I hope this will work. (I always do this, always works)
