Unfortunately upon such device as this software can only be installed by mobile phone engineer whom would have the right tools; you can only reset settings via user interface.

  • Problem connecting 6230 to Vista PC with Toshiba B...

    Hello,
I recently got a new laptop with Vista installed. My 6230 used to connect well with my former PC (Win XP).
Initially I managed to have PC Suite (6.83) work once and downloaded my contacts to the PC. Then sync stopped working for contacts but other functions were ok. Suddenly my computer asked me to check the Bluetooth drivers (don't know what stack it used, probably Microsoft) that apparently were not recognised anymore. I upgraded (following instructions from Asus website) and got the Toshiba stacked installed.
Now PC Suite still "sees" the 6230 but cannot link with it. The 6230 doesn't prompt for a pin. Outside PC Suite, Bluetooth connection manager manages to have the 6230 prompt me for a pin, and connect, but it would disconnect after 2 seconds.
Has anybody experienced that sort problem ? Is it more likely to be Vista-related, or my driver is faulty, or the 6230 is, or is PC Suite ?

  • Problems with 6230 & Ca-53

I have some problems with connectivity:
    mobile Phone: Nokia 6230
    Data Cable: Original nokia CA-53
OS: Windows XP professional Service Pack 2.
    PC Suite: 6.84.10.4
Once i installed the Nokia PC suite,i connected the Cable and the mobile, following the Suite's wizard, and nothing happens. neither in the computer nor in the phone. I had the mobile unblocked, and the USB ports were active.
Being readed some topics here, I tried to uninstall the nokia suite, and all of the nokia components in my laptop; and tried to install all again.
I also tried a bat found in other topic and there were no positive answer, everything staid the same.
    Any idea about that?

I have a very similar situation here. Took me a while to figure out why existing user certificates are OK but no new users can enroll. I checked all certificates for expiry. No go. It was not the expiry ("Valid to") time, but rather the "Valid From" time that is messed up.
This is what happens: The rollover gets created and replaces the original one (which remains in memory, no flash) But the new one is valid from the expiry of the old one - in my case TOMORROW and after a power-outage the day before yesterday (the most definitive way to get a reboot!) I only have the new NOT YET VALID certificate.
OK, I can wait until tomorrow and see if it works. But the design is far from intelligent. The industry standard is that when you renew a certificate, the validity of the new one is immediate - even if it means it runs for a few days longer than the designated lifetime.
So much for the overlap period of 30 days (as you can see from your own post) if the old certificate goes away after a reboot and the new one is not yet valid! (The CA certificate expiration timer gets reset to some Unix time-zero ( 01:00:00 CEST Jan 1 1970) which I take to mean "not valid yet".)
I only have a few days of trouble - and just one to go after finally working it out, but it could have been up to 30 days if I for any reason had rebooted after the roll-over certificate got created.

  • Problem loading/storing user certificate on 6230

I have generated a certificate using keytool and have signed my midlet using the same certificate. I then sent the certificate via IR to my Nokia 6230. The phone recevies it but says unknown format. Any suggestions on how to send the certificate to the phone?
The midlet loaded cant be started - the error message is "No Valid Certificate" - which i guess is correct since I havent loaded the certificate to the phone.
On the phone, under services->settings->security settings there is a user certificates and Authority Certificates. I presume, when i eventually succeed in getting the certificate loaded on the phone it would show up under User Certificates. Is this a good assumption?
    thanks in advance,

    Hi Prateek,
Thanks for the reply. I have got my certificate signed by CA. The problem is importing the client certificate into the Trusted CA's.
When i try to import the client certificate into TrustedCA using the load button, after selecting the certi a pop up comes and asks for the password.
I tried with two diff certifi and this happens only to one which has got digital signature. I have asked the customer who sends the request and they are saying there is no such kind of password.
any help or suggestions would be appreciated
    Thanks,

    I had a 6230i with wich I encountered the same problem .
I had to take it to a GSM service and the guys over there gave it a
    "bluetooth repair".
For as much as I know, it's a software repairment ...
It doesn't require a full phone soft change...
For mine it worked just well after the intervention...
Before bluetooth repairment I also had problems when I tried to send/recieve via bluetooth files larger than 500 Kb...
Sometimes it worked, sometimes (most of the times ) the connection broke .
    Good luck !

  • 6230, TomTom and Bluetooth authentication problem

I have a 6230 and have just bought a TomTom Go 710 which connects via bluetooth to the phone for GPRS traffic updates. I have no problem pairing the two, but have to use the authentication code '0000' to authenticate the TomTom on the phone. I do not want to have to authenticate every time I connect so I have chosen to select 'yes' under the bluetooth option to NOT request authentication from the TomTom. This is where the problem lies - despite this selection I still get prompted for the code every time I switch on the TomTom. I have two other bluetooth devices paired - a PC dongle and a HDW-3 headset. Both of these are also selected not to require authentication and they are fine. I have also previously connected to a borrowed TomTom Go 700 and once paired this too behaved itself by not requiring authentication every time. I have tried everything that I can think of to cure this problem. I have removed the pairing from both the TomTom and the 6230 several times and re-paired them; I have selected 'no' to the 'requires authentication' prompt and then reselected 'yes'. None of these actions have had any effect. I have contacted TomTom and they are at a loss to understand the cause of the problem. Any ideas?

Hi, I have a TomTom 510 and have been experiencing the same problem. After much anguish at being pushed from pillar to post between Nokia and TomTom, I have been given a zip file by TomTom that has cured the problem and so at long last I no longer have to enter the access code every time. The file is :- Clear_Flash.zip . I suggest you contact TomTom on 08451610009 and ask them to e-mail the file to you.
    Good luck

  • 6230-Phone Browser Problem

Hi,I have noticed that when I updated PC suite, there was a new function available for my 6230, which is in My Computer. It just says Nokia 6230(NOT IN NOKIA PHONE BROWSER) and when I click on it, it works just like Windows Explorer, I can see thumbnails for pictures and transfer rate is higher, bu then the next day I tried it, the icon with 6230 written on it wasn't there, but it was in Nokia Phone Browser. I can use Nokia Phone Browser to access my files, but as i like to take a lot of photos, it isn't really convenient as I can't see the thumbnails like I can in Windows Explorer.
What can I do to resolve this problem?

  • 6230 key problems

would anyone know how i could resolve a problem iam having with my 6230.... the green call key wont work at all... all other keys are working fine... thanks

How long have you had the handset as dirt etc can enter the keypad affecting its functions.
Has any liquid touched the pad as this has this affect also if it got under it.
Also when the pop port gets dust etc in it this affects the handset also.
The solution is to take it to a Nokia Repair Centre who will carry out a 'clean' on it for you. They will also check the handset over incase it need another type of repair that is causing this malfunction.

  • Nokia music manager problems with Nokia 6230 model...

Hello. Recently I installed the newer version of nokia PC-Suite, the version 6.8.22. I have a nokia 6230 model HS-12 with HS-3 handsFree attached. Make the connection via Bluetooth (SMC USB Bluetooth) over a Windows XP SP2 system. The connection works fine.
The problem arrives with the new MusicManager software.
First, the playlists that this program creates, generates a error in mi phone. It says "Invalid tracklist". Surfing the web, the problem was that MusicManager generates the playlist entries (in the phone) refers to C:\ and D:\ (this for the MMC), when the phone internally works with unities A:\ and B:\. Changing "manually" the playlist it works, so if any people with design responsabilities read this, please take note.
Second, when convert my .MP3 files into .AAC files, the program converts the files into a .AAC but in MONO !! The music only sound in one channel, when the .MP3 is full stereo. Really, the conversion is in Stereo, but only converts one channel. The other remains muted. I have no idea of this problem. I listen the "mono" files in any Windows player, even at the phone.
If any people can help me, or have similar problems, or need more information please make a reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi
The tracklist stuff with 6230 (Ive owned a 6230 before) is a very difficult procedure, because it is not a drag and drop process from PC to phone. You have to giggle and dive onto the Audio Manager app in PC Suite where you have to find the Playlist folder in your phone memory and place all playlists there to be able to be recognized by the phone. Simple drag and drop will not work (like the m3u is in the MMC).
About your mono problem, I haven't checked out this feature of Music Manager because I still think its purely buggy even of the newer features and new face it has now. Better use other music software to transcode your MP3's such as dbpoweramp's Music Converter software (its free trial for 30 days, after that the MP3 encoding and Power Pack features are useless, if you download other codecs, you can use them after the trial.)
    cheers.
The world might be a better place if you were I.

  • Nokia 6230 Contacts Sync Problem with Outlook

I have a Nokia 6230 and used to sync my contacts with outlook using PCSYNC. Now I receive a message that sync is completed but only 1 or 2 contacts are copied to the outlook (always the same ones). I have already updated the PC Synch version many times, tried to change configurations on PC Sync and on the phone, created new folders on outlook and sync profiles, cleaned the configuration files on "documents and settings" folder, contacted Nokia phone suport in Brazil, but nothing worked.
I use Windows 2000 SP4 in English, connect through Infrared and have the 6.81.13.0 version of PC Sync (I have already tried many other versions). I'm using Phone memory. When I use PC Sync explorer those same few contacts that are synchronized are the only ones that I can see in the contacts folder.
I think the problem is in some configuration file in Windows environment or I have a problem with the phone set.
Please if anyone could help me I would apreciate. I have lost many hours trying to fix that problem.

Today I searched through the discussions and found many other users with the same problem (Himalaya2050, Marbru, tugrulislier). Almost everybody using Nokia6230 and using international character set, maybe the root cause for the sync problem.
I think Nokia should have a tested fix for that problem.
Was the phone update the solution for other users? Do you have any feedback? I haven't found in the discussions any user with that problem solved.
When I first contact Nokia support in Brazil they told me to do many time consuming procedures (reinstall and update PC sw many times) that didn't worked and didn't make sense for me, as the sync was working with previous version. So I don't want to try another non tested solution, because I will have to go to a tech assistance, wait and probably loose all the information stored on the phone.
I think I will have to exchange my phone ...

  • Nokia 6230 PC Suite Bluetooth Problem

Hello, i need a help with my mobile....
    I am using:
    Windows XP SP 2
    PC Suite 6.7
    Nokia 6230
    CNet Bluetooth USB Dongle
My pc can see the phone but when i tried to connect it said that cannot authorizate, but i see that when it tried to connect... the windows XP saw the phone and make a connection with the phone to share internet.
    Please Help me...
Sorry if a wrote something wrong, i don't speak english. I speak spanish.
    Thanks.

Problem just solved. I installed Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2 operating system and now it works perfectly, so the problem was just that the performance edition operating system caused the drivers not installing properly. But now I have another kind of a problem. I am using the N96 as a modem for Internet. I can only get a speed of approx 45kb/s, while I have got almost 110kb/s with another computer using the same cable. Is it caused because of the USBv1.1 slow USB version? But shouldn't it still be able to do better than 45kb/s, while it transfers files with OK speeds? When I use the Bluetoothv1 USB Dongle, it works with about the same speed but only when using the performance edition, not when using the home original OS. When using home edition OS it works about 5kb/s, but it could have been just temporary. But my main question is, still, that how could I get the speed faster? I have installed the windows KBxxxxxxx patch, but still it works pretty slow, just about half of the speed it is supposed to work.
