  • Cannot send files from phone via bluetooth to iMac

I bought the latest Imac about 2 wks ago and I have had a Mac before,it was my very first computer. I am a seller on Ebay and use Bluetooth to send photos to Computer as my camera is awol. I have been able to pair my Samsung Galaxy Ace and my old Nokia 6210 to the Imac no problem. Its when I go to send a file from either phone that it wont send. The exact words displayed on my phoone are ''Remote device rejected your request''. Both devices are visible but when I click on my phone say the Samsung in the Imac list it has beside it ''not connected''. How do I enable the Bluetooth to accept my Samsung or Nokia as i really need it

Well you must enable bluetooth sharing. To do so, just go to Preferences>Internet & Wireless>Bluetooth>Sharing Setup(at bottom right)>tick mark bluetooth sharing. Thats it and the next time you won't have a problem.
Note: Open padlock or else you won't be able to  make any changes

  • Can't transfer files from Phones via Bluetooth

I've tried two different phones. Both are seen. Both are paired. Both say the connection is lost when I try and send something to the Mac. Didn't have a problem with Lion, but with ML, cannot transfer files. I can see some of the phones contents when I browse the device from the Mac, but what's stopping me from doing it from the phone? Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?

If the ip addresses are beginning with 169 that means they are self assigned ip addresses.
I suggest you goto each mac and create a new network location.
Then setup one mac as follows
    systempreferences-->network-->show built-in ethernet-->TCP/IP
    configure ipv4 manually
    ip address 10.0.0.1
    subnet 255.255.255.0
on the other mac do the same but make the ip address
    10.0.0.2
    press apply now.
Now when you connect to server use the ip address 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2 respectively.

  • How to copy pdf files from computer to ipad

how to copy pdf files from computer to ipad

You can PDFs to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports PDFs - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
Options include free apps such as Apple's iBooks app and also Adobe Reader - and paid-for apps such as GoodReader (which also supports read-only of other documents types).
For iBooks you can first add the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library, and you can then sync them by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and using the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync them.
For Adobe Reader adnd GoodReader you can use the file sharing on the Apps tab on the right-hand side to copy them over : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094

  • Bluetooth files from computer to phone?????

I'm trying to send jpeg files from my MacBook pro to my Verizon Motorola phone. I can make the connection but when it sends there is a notice on the Mac: file not transferred--internal error. However, I have no problem sending picture files from the phone to the computer. Any ideas how to fix this?????

  • Unwanted image added to song when sent from computer over bluetooth

When I send a song from my mac mini to my One via bluetooth--it adds an image from my computer that is not part of the mp3 file as the thumbnail for the song in "media." How can I stop this?  Thanks for any help

Hi Kevin, thanks for the response.
I've done it three or four times, every time it adds the same photo, but it
is just one of many from my computer and I have no idea 1. why any image is
added, or 2. that image in particular is added.  I don't want any
    thumbnails, just the song!
The obvious workaround is to transfer via usb which worked, but I like
    bluetoothing sometimes...
    thanks

  • Can't transfer files from Computer to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - 4G

I have tried hooking up my tab via the usb cord to my computer to open the Tab as a hard drive however it will not let me add files to any of the folders.
I have also tried  V Cast, however it does not recognize the Tab as well.  I feel like I am stuck with a Tablet that I can not put my own media on.
    Please help!

    OK, some solutions:
    1.  I started here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/da-DK/w7itpronetworking/thread/60fc369a-dd7b-439f-bf64-a5ec76aa682d
    2.  Then I went to the link page and downloaded the exe file from here:
    http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP00&prd_ia_cd=&prd_mdl_cd=GT-P1000CWAXEU&prd_mdl_name=GT-P1000&srchword=Galaxy%20Tab
The file I downloaded and installed was Downloads>Software "2.0.2.11071_128_2 SAMSUNG Kies,PC Sync"
Upon install completion [takes a while] when you attach the tab to the USB port the device installs completely and you no longer get the two x's shown in the engadget article.
You can run the Kies program if you want [I tried it but really don't need it] or just take advantage of the drivers for the tab to see the device is now recognized in "My computer" as a portable device and is properly labeled as "SCH-I905."  This is the same way the Motorola Xoom shows up when attached to my machine.
You can then open any file manager and drill down into the tablet folders to put stuff on the tab or copy it off the tab.
Update:  The Kies program didn't work with the tab so I just went to Start>Samsung>uninstall.  Drivers remain but Kies is gone.

  • Connecting up a mobile phone to a computer (via bluetooth?)

    Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to connect up a mobile phone to a nearby computer (wirelessly) so that they are able to communicate with each other.
Would bluetooth be the best way?
Would it be as simple as buying a bluetooth dongle for the computer, and writing a java application on the computer which accepts connections, and then writing a j2me application for the phone which connects to the computer? How would you find out what address the mobile phone needed to connect to?
Also, is there a better way of doing this without the need for a j2me application on the phone, such as a phones built in web browser? If I did this how would the computer be able to send information over to the phone telling it what to display? Would it be a case of creating an index.html on the computer and the phone would be able to display that?
    Thanks for the help

{color:#000080}Bluetooth looks good for your purpose. At the phone end, you would need a MIDlet to access an inbuilt bluetooth serial port using the btspp: protocol. At the PC end, your software will connect to the serial port corresponding to your bluetooth dongle. The two can communicate using a client-server relationship.
That is, of course, the bare-bones outline of quite a lot of stuff. Device pairing has to be done manually, since there is no method to do this in j2me. On many handsets, BT has to be launched before running a MIDlet that requires its services. All bluetooth dongles are not created equal, neither are all bluetooth managers. So you will have to deal with a number of specifics as you progress. I am not sure on this, but I think there are a few phone models that do have bluetooth but no serial port profile, so that's another point to check out.
AFAIK, the browser on a mobile phone cannot open local files nor access content via bluetooth -- html pages can only be viewed via the internet.
    You will need to use the javax.bluetooth and, possibly, javax.obex packages.{color}

  • WHY CANT I RECIEVE PICTURE AND MUSIC VIA BLUETOOTH ON THE IPHONE5

why cant i receive pictures, music, videos via bluetooth from other devices on the iphone 5

Then return your phone.  Have you ever actually USED bluetooth file sharing?  It's as slow as molasses.  Do you know how long it would take to transfer one photo taken by your iPhone?  Seemingly forever.  This is why Apple doesn't support this.
Apple does support BT where it makes sense, and where the slow BT speed doesn't matter:  BT headphones, BT for car handsfree units, etc.

  • How do I import music to my mac from phone via bluetooth?

I am trying to import music from my brother's mobile phone to my macbook (itunes) via bluetooth connectivity.  I can send one file at a time from his phone but obviously this is very time consuming so am trying to find a shorter method.  When i go to import playlist in itunes, the phone is not recognised in 'my devices'. Any suggestions please?

Bluetooth file transfer is not supported by iOS devices.
