6230i no signal / heats up

6230i phone is about two years' old. Recently, it was getting very hot and no signal was coming. Showed a technician, who felt the ICFP was to be changed. He tried with a new ICFP, but problem remains.
What to do please? Thanks

  • No Signal When Charging

    Anyone else experiencing this?
I have iPhone 4 (4.3.1 8G4, MC603X) and Kensington "Charge and Sync" dock.
When charging I get "No Service" — if I remove it from the charger and stand the phone +1 inch+ from the charger, the signal comes on after about 5 seconds.
It's the same if I use a standard Apple USB iPhone cable.
Within seconds of placing the phone back in the charger, the "No Service" message returns.
I'd really like to keep my phone charging and still get calls when I'm in my office.
Curiously, when I'm in the car, and the phone is on the cradle charger there, I keep signal; but the signal is stronger in the car than in my office.
Does charging reduce reception on iPhone 4?
    Carrier is Telstra in Australia.

When you say it overheats does the phone display a warning that it is too hot, or is it just your perception? An iPhone will get quite warm if the cellular signal is weak or there is no cell networ available. If you are charging at the same time the heating from charging is additive to the weak signal heat (which is due to the fact that the phone must increase its output power to maintain or find a network connection).

  • ATV wont boot

My ATV looks like it doesn't wanna boot up. When I plug in the power the LED flashes orange for about 30 seconds then goes off. The hard drive must still be running tho because the box is hot. Its plugged in using HDMI to the LCD which just says no signal.

Heat isn't an indicator that the hard drive is working - most of that heat is generated by the power adaptor that's built into the unit.
Try unplugging it from the wall, waiting 10 seconds, and powering it back on. If it still fails to boot, then you have a hardware problem and you need to return it. If you have an Apple store close to you, they can swap it out for a new one immediately.

  • Lumia 920 heats up then loses cellular signal

I've been having a problem with my Nokia Lumia 920 for the past 2 days already. It suddenly heats up, and then automatically, the phone loses its cellular signal! I can still use the phone because it's not freezing, but the signal just disappears. When I search manually for a network, it says it can't find any signal. I've tried turning it off first, or doing a soft reset to solve it. Yes, it solves the problem and I get my signal back, but just a few minutes after, it heats up and loses signal all over again. Someone help please!
I love this phone so much It's the third time I'm having serious problems with my phone but since its warranty period has already passed, I pretty much can't give it back to Nokia Care anymore

    Hi, erykdelrosario.
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Is this happening regardless of your location? Can you confirm that your SIM card is fully inserted? Have you tried inserting your SIM card to another phone to see if there's any difference?
Your Nokia Lumia 920 is a sophisticated modern smartphone with a powerful processor, graphics acceleration and many other advanced features to enhance your user experience; it is natural that in some usage scenarios it will become warm. Unless the performance and stability of your phone are seriously affected whilst the phone is warm, you should not have anything to worry about. There are systems in place to restrict power consumption to essential features if the phone does become excessively hot.
    Keep us posted.

  • How to configure a shell and tube heat exchanger with Lab VIew to get data

    HiI
In our undergraduate chemical engineering labboratory we want to configure our shell and tube heat exchanger  with a DAq and Lab VIEW to get information about the temperaure (of the cold fluid stream being heated), the pressure (of the steam on the shell side of the heat exchanger) and the flowrate (of the water being heated).
Can anyone suggest thermocouples, pressure transducers and flowmeters to fit between the heat exchanger and the DAq?
P.S. the heat exchanger is already fitted with thermometers, a pressure gauge and a rotameter but we don't know how to connect these hardware to the DAq
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It sounds like you have enough information to pick out appropriate sensors, you just need to do the research. I would start looking through the Omega catalog, or give them a call - they're usually helpful. I can't take the time to spec out parts for you - that would be a lot of time spent on someone else's project. Most pressure sensors put out either a 4-20mA or 0-5V signal, either of which you can read through an analog input on a DAQ; measuring a 4-20mA signal requires a resistor to convert to voltage. Most of the NI DAQ boards can read a thermocouple on an analog input, but make sure that your hardware does support reading thermocouples. For accurate readings, use a device that has built-in cold junction compensation - for example, the SCB-68 connector block - and for the most accurate readings, get a board specifically designed for temperature measurement.
For the flow measurement, a standard, simple solution is an orifice plate. You put a differential pressure transducer across it, look up the appropriate equations, and use them to calculate the flow rate given the density of the fluid (which you'll be able to calculate from the pressure and temperature, since steam tables are widely available). There are other differential pressure devices available as well - at a previous job we used a V-Cone from McCrometer. If you call them they'll spec one for you - but get an approximate cost first to make sure it's within your budget.

  • N73 BATTERY BP 6M BATTERY HEATING DURING CHARGIN...

N73 BATTERY BP 6M BATTERY HEATING DURING CHARGING AND DISCHARCHING WITH IN HOURS FROM CHARGING ITS SIZE IS ALSO INCREASED

Please replace your battery with new one RIGHT NOW. Continue using this BP-6M may cause danger.
Usually turning heat while charging is normal, especially when charging in big current. And after the battery get older and older, the internal resistance will incrase as well, and this will generate more heat while charging. However, if the battery gets very hot while charging, much hotter than before, or suddenly become hot, you need to pay extra attention to it, 'coz this is a dangerous signal that saying your battery may have problems.
BUT, if a battery becomes to discharging quickly, in most case you need to replace it as quick as possible, for there may be slight short circuit inside it. If you continue using a battery in this condition, the level of short circuit may increase and at last, it may be totally short circuited and EXPLODE or BURN.
You've said the size of your battery is also bigger than before, so I can 99% sure that, your battery is no longer usable, REPLACE IT RIGHT NOW and handle it properly.

  • How can I use my NI 9401 to send a 5V signal to a solid state relay?

To start off, I am a complete novice to LabVIEW and I am working on my senior capstone project. Please, bear with me and I will try my best to help you help me.
I am wanting to use my NI 9401 to send a voltage to a solid state relay so that I can control the temperature of a heating element. Ideally what I want to do is:
    1. LabVIEW sends voltage to relay.
    2. Relay turns on.
    3. Heating element reaches desired temperature.
    4. LabVIEW does some sort of pulse to maintain that temperature.
Right now I have one wire set inside of DIO 4 (or pin 20?) because I have read that 4:7 are for outputs. I also have another wire in the first COM slot (pin 1?).  I believe that these two wires will be placed in the "input signal" spots on the diagram below.

Your description is not very clear for me. However, usually output lines of control boards do not have a 5V signal as required by a solid state relay. The output usually is "TTL compatible" which means that it may be anywhere between 2.8V and 5.0V in high state.
Usually solid state relays are connected to an "open collector output". Most digital outputs can be used in this mode, too. You have to wire the (+) terminal of the relay to a 5VDC source (many boards have a 5VDC output - with limited current capacity, when using an external 5VDC source the GND terminal of the latter must be connected to GND or COM of the board). The (-) output goes to the digital output of the board. When wiring this way, logic states are inverted with respect to the relay operation. The relay will be ON when the digital output is in LOW state and will be OFF when the output is in HIGH state.
Check the current limit of your output line in "sink mode" and compare it with the current requirement of the relay input. Most solid state relays require 10 to 20 milli-amps at the input which is well inside the current limit of most digital outputs (usually 24 milli-amps, sometimes 48 milli-amps).

  • Signal has gotten progressively worse

I have been with Verizon a little over a year now and from what I can say, the signal inside of my house has gotten worse since last year. When I signed up I had steady 4G LTE signal indoors. Now it's a guessing game with every kind of signal. Every time I go to pull my phone out of my pocket I am more likely to have 1x or 3G or no data and no bars. The signal switches so much that its sometimes hard to use basic data functionality or even send a text message because the phone is switching between data services.
Several times a day I am greeted with no data. There are some days when I have absolutely nothing for a good 10 minutes. By nothing I mean no data and no signal bars. Text messages and phone calls cannot happen in those 10 minutes. I have had people calling me and saying my phone went straight to voice mail or said it was ringing and I didn't pick up. Problem is, I never heard the phone ringing nor did I see the phone change over to the incoming call screen when I had it out on the table. The same goes for sending text messages. The sending icon (green arrow) stays on for a long time and then it's finally sent or it never gets sent because of the phone switching between data services.
The lack of the phone ringing or text messages being sent has cost me money. I run a package store with my family and have to place weekly orders with sales reps and when they say they called and my phone never rang there is a problem. The same goes for texts since some never got sent I couldn't text the order. It's quite a cut throat business in the sense that if I don't have product then the customers will just walk out and go up or down the street and that makes my business look bad and that affects income to pay our bills like my phone bill from Verizon. My apartment is in the same building as the business so even there I have seen the signal become worse.
My phones are 4 DROID RAZRs and they all have troubles with signal. As a result of poor signal the Internet is barely usable and the phones are questionably reliable to make calls and send texts. The battery life is also horrible, I have to charge my phone twice a day because somehow I lose 10% battery life in a half hour even though I sometimes don't use the phone during that span of time. The same goes for the other phones. My younger brother's phone gets so hot to the touch that it slows down significantly and he has to set it down for a good half hour. My parents also have the same problems with heat. Since they have become more relaxed any my brother and I have become more active in the business they use their phones for other things. My dad uses pandora and complains that it cuts out because the phone was switching between data services. My mother watches youtube videos and says they always take forever to load. They also spend lots of time calling their family members and they complain of their phones getting too hot and the batteries dying too quickly. We have wifi but it is only usable within the immediate range of the router (the back office) not where we need it.
We have spent hours on the phone with Verizon only to become more frustrated. We have tried device swaps because of the signal and charging port issues on our phones. We have also gone through several SIM card changes. Sometimes I'll even pick up a phone off contract from best buy to test the signal strength with a newer device. We've done everything from factory data resets to running safe mode. Nothing improves reception. The only sure fire way to improve reception is to not touch the phone and set it down on a table because when it's picked up the signal drops from 4 bars to 1 bar. Even idle it will switch services and we have all had the phone hot sitting in our pockets and having 1x or no data and no bars. It would have been nice to consider getting my family new phones in October of this year but I guess Verizon decided to change their upgrade policy so now I have to wait until March 2014 but I don't think our phones will last that long.
I never had this problem before with Verizon but now it's a part of every day life meanwhile I have to foot the bill. Why has my signal gotten worse? It used to work fine and have excellent reliability now Verizon is becoming like AT&T in my store which flat out does not work because there is no service inside. I don't know what to do in this case because we can barely use our phones. Our usage has gone down across the board especially data since the signal type switches with a mind of its own.

I came here to search for answers to the same problem.
Although I have iTunes on a Mac the symptoms are similar.
Everything video played perfectly in iTunes before the last round(s) of iTunes updates. Now I have problems with jerky playback.
I installed more RAM as the program is now so cumbersome it struggles without it. This helped the sluggishness of iTunes but not the video playback.
They play perfectly in the Quicktime Player program itself, so the problem lies within iTunes and an answer needs to be found.

  • Using USB-9211 to measure a small voltage - apparent signal offset?

    Hi,
I wish to acquire a small voltage signal (0-20mV) using USB-9211.  I know that this device is designed for use with thermocouples, but I have been informed that it can also be used for measurement of small voltage signals (24 bit resolution over +/- 80mV range).
The problem I am having is that the device seems to generate a small voltage (~3.2mV), which causes a degree of 'offset' in the signal I acquire.  My first guess is that this is caused by the internal CJC of the device, however I cannot find any way of removing this signal within LabView.  If this is the case, is the magnitude of the offset dependent on the temperature of the device itself?
Can anybody confirm what the source of this voltage is, and advise what is the best way to acquire my signal through LabView?
I have already raised this query with the helpdesk (ref #613180) but have not yet had a definitive answer.
    Many thanks
    Pete

The offset is dependent upon the temperature of your cold junction.
To prove this try heating the cold junction with a hair dryer with
    your signal leads shorted.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro mid 2010 sound a SOS signal on start-up?

Since last month our MBP mid 2010 started to have boot issues. Sometimes it boots fine 10 times, other times it will take time and patience before you get through the SOS signals. After it is finally started, it will work perfectly and also putting it to sleep gives no problems. Only when you restart or shutdown the machine and start again it might fail, but it is random.
We have been to Apple Store Amsterdam, but according to their tests, the memory was fine. Also the RAM was reseated and other RAM was used, but the problem persists. This rules out a faulty memory I think. What we didn't do is only use one of the two slots, since I am not sure the system will run normally then.
I am afraid this is a logic board issue if I am not mistaken, but (of course) I hope it can also be something else. Are there any other tests that we could do?

    Hey Alomolife,
I also still have no clue. At this point I notice that the MBP gets very cold over night and it does not start. If I heat it up by using a hairdryer or the oven, it will start up. So basically I can only restart it when I have tropical temperatures in the house.. Maybe the mechanical part of the hard drive does not work properly in the cold. This way of working is of course not something I would like to keep doing. How did you get your machine started again?

  • Screen gets no 'signal', has power

I live in the US and bought a Z3 d6603 on Amazon at the end of 2014. (the phone was 'imported', and had T-Mobile of Poland software on it)
After 2 months of use, I found that the phone does not display any information, but the backlight does seem to work. It is like a computer monitor that has power but gets no signal, if you look closely you can see the faint grey of the light coming from the LCD. The touchscreen works, I could unlock the phone with double tap and swipe to unlock, and it rings if a call comes through. The phone had been in a case and there is zero scratches or blemishes on the exterior of the phone. I was using it on T-Mobile US.
I replaced the screen on an old HTC MyTouch4G before, but that only needed a hairdryer and small screwdrivers. the back of my Nexus 4 is glass, but after removing two small screws and applying a little heat the rear glass comes off easy enough. But the heatgun methods I saw on YouTube had me worried that I would do more damage to the rear glass and metal frame of the phone. Two local shops said they would try but hadn't worked on Xperias before. (mostly fixing Samsung Galaxys and iPhones)
I am worried that a local shop would damage the phone trying to get the rear glass off, just to find a loose cable (easy fix), damaged LCD panel ribbon ($150-200 ish for a new panel?) or a damaged circuit board (several hundred dollars, and where to get a new one?)
Any thoughts on how to get a fair estimate to properly repair this? When I made a support account with Sonymobile.com/us/ and entered my IMEI, I got a message saying "Our online repair service is not available in your country." I live in Northern NJ, not far from Newark / NYC. Thanks in advance.

    @Steve_z3_6603
Based on what I've seen on the forum is about 2/3 the price of the phone to repair a screen/digitizer. contact Sony Xperia care, use the live chat, of course your phone it's not covered by warranty as its from a different country but they might be able to fix it.

  • Sudden no DVI/VGA signal

    Pavilion p6210y. Stock, nothing fancy.
Over a year ago my power supply exploded abut I replaced it with a Norwood Micro 350W I found in a  free box. It worked just fine, we used the computer for about 6 months then set it aside because we got a laptop. The other week I started it again and it worked fine for about 30 minutes then the monitor shows me no DVI/VGA signal and go to sleep. The computer is still running. I let it rest for a day and then started it again and the same thing happened. Power supply? Motherboard?
    Thanks!,
    Joe, Mpls

    Hi Joe,
Your PC might be full of dust and then overheating.
    Try this procedure:
Unplug the PC and open it up. Clean out all the dust. Carefully remove and replace all the cables going to the motherboard one at a time. Do the same for the memory dimms and the video and sound cards if you have any.  You might want to buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the CPU heat sink.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.
