6230i phone language problem

I have dutch or deutsch language set automatically on my nokia 6230i. I had english language there before. When i navigate to the menu -> settings -> phone and the try to look for english i get no other language in the list.
Menü --> Einstellungen --> Telefon --> Display-Sprache
when i keep my navigation up to the above menu Telephone, i see Deutsch but when i open the option Display-Sprache, i see only the following option in the list of languages Automatisch.
Please help me correct this problem.
Moreover, i did try to install some free games from the internet and i suspect them as causing some problem like this on my phone but i only suspect and i am not sure.

on facebook 3 Italy wrote me that for that menu it's a nokia problem:

in English:

6230i 32MB card problems

Hello.
I have had my standard 32MB multimedia memory card for my 6230i phone forever... but I just recently got a new laptop with a compatible 5 in 1 card reader, but the laptop does not seem to recognize my memory card at all. It doesn't appear in 'my computer' or anything. does anyone know what the problem could be?! thanks

the mp3 maybe on the original card, move it to Tones and then into ringtones, then highlight it from there and options and set as ringtone

6230i Bluetooth connectivity problems

Sorry for long posting...
I have recently purchased a 6230i to replace my 6310i.
I previously used a CA-42 USB cable for the 6310i but that is reported by the 6230i as incompatible - grrh.
And now I am trying to set up the Bluetooth connectivity.
I have (eventually) managed to get the 6230i paired to my Laptop using a Belkin USB Bluetooth and the Belkin software running on WinXP (IBM T41 laptop). PC Suite runs but seems to be a little unreliable over Bluetooth - will address that by sourcing a DKU-2 cable.
However, I have problems with pairing the 6230i with my Sony HBH-600 headset (works perfectly with 6310i) I can get the 6230i to discover the headset either by searching for audio enhancements or by setting up a new pair, however it always fails to set up the connection (never asks for passkey).
Similarly I cannot get my Ipaq 5550 to pair with the 6230i. I can start the pairing from the Ipaq which finds the 6230i but the 6230i never acknowledges the pairing attempt which then fails. If I start the pairing process from the 6230i it finds the Ipaq and attempts to pair but never asks to setup a passkey - the Ipaq does not seems to receive the pairing attempt.
I have set the auto connect option to yes and no with no difference.
Any suggestions ?
Needless to say all this worked perfectly with the 6310i.

Further to original post
The Bluetooth connectivity all works between the IBM T41, Ipaq 5550, Sony HBH600 headset and a Nokia 6810 phone.
So the problem appears to be the Nokia 6230i phone.
Further research gives some rather disapointing information.

If you have problems performing pairing between an iPAQ 1940/2210 and the Nokia 6230 and continually get an error similar to "Cannot pair devices for security reasons" then it's related to the problem outlined in that document.
This is a Hardware issue and not a software issue related to the WIDCOMM BTW-CE Product. There are two types of keys that can be used for pairing:
- Combination keys
- Unit keys
The key type that is used is pre-set in the Bluetooth Radio Firmware. The WIDCOMM BTW-CE Bluetooth software
does not control this setting. The radio on the iPAQ 1940 uses unit keys by default. These Nokia phones reject the use of unit keys in pairing because it is not as secure as combination keys.
Users of older HP iPAQ models should check the HP Drivers page for the latest OS or Bluetooth software for their devices.
I note that my Ipaq is older than the two models mentioned and that my headset is 16 months old. So it looks as if the 6230i is going back - stupid no backwards compatibility.

Shortcuts & input language problem

Hello,
I've a problem.
My OS 10.5 is in english, my photoshop is in english but as an input device I'm used to the Swiss German Keyboard.
I've a problem with the keyboard mapping. and specifically with this function:
"Toggle layer mask on/off as rubylith: \ (backslash"
My keyboard doesn't have that key.
How do I remap the function to another key (best solution)
or how do i remap that key (backslah) to anther key?

Uh, ok, so your english is not perfect, but I'll try to see what I understand.
You want phone language to be english, but you want it to be able to show chinese as well? You'll have to install a third party font pack application which supports both english and chinese. Like this one:

Software update and phone language

Hello everybody,
I have a nokia e-60, unbranded, bought in Italy, working originally with italian language.
Last week I did software upgrade via Nokia Software Updaten and, unfortunately, my phone language went to English.
I read into settings, phone, general, language and only 5 languages are available: English, French, German, Turk and Dutch.
No Italian.
I wouldn't mind using English for the phone, as usually I prefer to use every software, and even OS, in English, but the matter is I cannot use any more predictive text while writing sms or email to italian recipients and this is a great annoyance.
Also, caller announcing does not work well.
So I would like to get the italian language back into the phone.
I took a look at the back of the phone, with the battery removed, and the codes read this way:
- NOKIA type Rm-49 Model e60-1
- FCCID PYARM-49
- IC 661V-RM49
- CODE: 0524383
Now, first off, could someone please tell me how come I ended up with a firmware with a different language from the one which was already installed? Shouldn't NSU have told me, before upgrading, that I was going to lose my default language? Or, else, shouldn't have NSU told me there were no new firmare available for my phones?
Apart from that, how can I actually revert back to Italian?
Can I downgrade to the previous version of the software? If so, how can I do that?
Can I simpy install a language pack with the current software? How to do that?
Should, instead, wait for a future release of the new firmare with italian language? If so, when do you think is going to be released but, furthermore, how can I config NSU to install the Italian version instead of the English one it installed me last week?
Please explain me how this firmware update thing works and how I can fix my present problem.

6230i BT pairing problem

I am trying to pair my 6230i with Windows 7 PC with no success. The problem is that the phone won't ask for a pairing code when supposed to do so, so it could never be finished. When trying to initiate the pairing from the phone, problem is exactly the same, PC won't ask for the PIN either. I have tried connecting two other non-Nokia phones with no problems (both directions). Only this 6230i doesn't work. I have no idea why. Restarting, reinstalling drivers or turning on/off both the PC and phone won't help anyway. Does not working with PC Suite, OVI suite, default Windows BT dialog, but I guess that does not really matter, all these programs use the same API. Any help?

The first step I would recommend you do is ensure you're running the latest version of PC Suite available for your device.

I don't have an E65, and this may be a model specific error which I won't be able to help you further on, but I have a Nokia N70 which I've paired successfully via BT without any issues.
Once you do connect is the connection reliable ? Are you able to transfer data between the PC and phone without problems or does the connection drop ?
Do you use any other Bluetooth devices without problems on your PC ? Do you use any other Bluetooth devices without problems on your phone ? (e.g. headset). This is to help try to localise whether the issue lies with the phone or your PC or both.
Between steps 2 and 3 do you do any actions such as browse the contents of the phone via BT or attempt a backup via BT ? (Note - a backup will take some time if you have a lot of data on your phone !)
It *MAY* be that because the connection hasn't really been "used" then the connection details aren't stored - if this is the case then transferring some data might force the phone and PC to keep details of the connection in place.
A other pointers to also look at are :
-> When switching Bluetooth on between your phone and PC I would recommend you always make the connection visible and not hidden.
-> The way I've found best to do pair a PC and phone (it works reliably for me) is to enable BT on my PC, PC Suite then picks up I have BT enabled and then attempts to connect to my phone. For me it isn't an immediate process - between enabling BT on my PC and PC Suite then "finding" my phone and pairing it takes 2-3 minutes.

My problem is Turkish language problem in JSP.
If my jsp page use database applications such as push or pull data to my SQL 2000 database or call some datas from database, some data which contains turkish caracter are seen wrong. suc as �� is to ??????

I have a similar problem.
My database is storing the characters correctly and they can be viewed in Java, but when I try to convert them to unicode using:
String inputUtf8 = new String(input.getBytes(),charset);
it works for almost all characters, but some come through as noncharacter "boxes."
The characters that come through as boxes in iso8859-1 are the ones that are in the "supplementary" character range of that set, such as:
- curved left and right quotes
- "TM" symbol
- bullets
- m dash and n dash

The 6230i is too old to be supported by the nokia software updater.
It can only be updated at a nokia care point.

If you received a photo stream photo on your phone, save it to your camera roll, then locate the photo in the Photos section of the Photos app, tap the location listed above the photo in Moments and it should show you where it was taken on a map (assuming location services was enabled for the camera on your phone).

Need help changing phone language
