6233 Memory card

I have just bought a Nokia 6233 on the Orange network. It came with a memory card which seemed to work fine for the first 12 hours. Now it seems to have disappeared completely from the phone and so have all the files on it. Am baffled as to what has happened to it. Have taken it out and put it back in, switched phone off, taken battery out........nothing works. I have a fair bit of music waiting to bluetooth to my new phone so really need some help in identifying and fixing the problem

Try restoring the phone back to factory settings first.
Menu > settings > restore factory settings. you'll be asked for your security code. enter 12345 if you have not changed it from the default code.
If that don't fix it, then a trip to a Nokia service point is in order.
Peace Out

  • 6233 memory card disappeared!

    Can anyone advise me please?
I have recently used my scandisk 1GB mini SD card to take some photographs on my regular digital camera using the adapter.
However, I have just re-inserted the mini SD back into my Nokia 6233 and it's disappeared! I can't find it anywhere!
The card is not faulty because when I insert it into my PC, my data is still on there. It's just my phone isn't reading it!
I've tried restoring the factory settings but it hasn't worked.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks

Hey. I just tried reformatting the card on my PC but it still hasn't worked!
Any other clues? Or do you think it's ANOTHER problem my phone has developed? I've had so many problems with this model. It's my third handset from 02 already so it wouldn't surprise me if it's a phone problem.
This only happened when I used it in my digital camera and now my mobile just isn't recognising it anymore. Its not even listed but it works fine on the PC.Message Edited by cez2007 on 05-Sep-200707:29 PM

  • 6233 unable to format memory card

    Hi.
My little brother has this phone and I gave him a 2 GB Transcend card for the phone. When we insert the new card we are not able to format it. The option for formatting (located under gallery->options) is disabled on the menu and it says you can only read the memory card. The card does not accept any file transfers without formatting it. The old Nokia 64 MB card works just fine.
Is there a way around this? Firmware version is 5.10.
Thanks for any and all help!
    Nokia E71

That's weird because it is clearly stated here that the 6233 supports 2gb cards
Firstly: You can try putting the card in a card reader and use a PC to format it then put it in the phone and see how it behaves
If this doesn't work check if the writing on the card says 2GB SD or if it says 2GB SDHC
Some say this is the same thing, I believe it isn't.
Reason being that 2gb is the highest capacity SD card and the lowest capacity SDHC.
It's possible that if your hardware is not compatible with SDHC it might not be able to read the card.
Might not be completely true but it's definitely worth looking at

  • E52 backup contacts to memory card bug.

I tried to create a backup of my contacts(550) to memory card. While doing so it copies exactly 205 contacts and displays "205 contacts copied,345 contacts not copied". I tried more than 10 times.
When checked in memory card also there were only 205 contacts.
    Anybody else facing this issue?
    5110->1100->6100->3230->6233->6681->N72->N73->5800->(With E52 I am done with Nokia)

Usually if there is a duplicate entry in the contacts database the name will not be displayed when receiving a call or an SMS, once you hunt down and delete the entry then it will display again. This has been the same in all of my Nokia, if I see no display I know that the NUMBER has been duplicated somewhere.
    @tranworld.
I already checked, and no duplicate entries of them. Strange.
Then I tested with my wife's phone, she has 2, 1 GSM, 1 CDMA phones. Those 2 numbers in 1 contact. I misscall my phone using those phones. The GSM is identified well. But the CDMA strangely only show the Numbers, not the contact name.
And the second test, with my dad's phone. 2 GSM in same contact. 1 GSM (which had been used to contact me before) it's ok. It showed my dad's name. But the second number, again, is only showed the number not my dad's name.
So, I thought that E52 failed to identified numbers in same contact, only one number will do. The other numbers will keep unidentified.
I checked also the SIM contacts. Yes, there are duplicates of those numbers, but why first number (that identified well) are not failed also? Why it only happens to second (or third so on) numbers?
Does anybody has some kind of this problem?
btw. My phone is off by itself just now. And it already the 5th time for 7 days i had bought.

  • How to copy original content from memory card to a...

I ordered a memory card for my 6233, and tried to copy the contents of the card to my PC, in order to get them onto the new memory card - but I get an "access denied" message when connecting the phone via my USB cable in storage mode. I assume this is because the content is copy protected.
Is there anyway of copying the data from my old miniSD card to my new one, using Windows?

  • Move messages to memory card -- 6230i

    Hello,
My phone can barely hold up to 200 messages that's because the phone memory is somehow small.
Is there something I can do to have my phone memory on memory card rather than phone memory?
Right now, I am doing it old school, I connect through PC Suite, and move them manually after I've created a folder in the memory card.
So please let me know if there's anything I can do about it. I simply like keeping my messages and not deleting them.
    Thanks!

I still don't think series 40 phones like the 6300 can store messages on the card. You can squeeze a few 1000 into phone memory. Think the most I ever had on the 6233 was around 3000 before deleting them all.
One thing that you also have to keep in mind is the more messages that are in the inbox or sent items the slower the phone will be when opening the inbox or sent items.
Someone once said that either the 6500 classic or 6500 slide could store messages on the card but I don't know for sure. These are also series 40 phones.
S60 smartphones (like the N95 or N82) do allow you to store a near unlimited number of messages on the memory card, instead of phone memory.

  • Problem with 5300 and 2 GB memory card

    Hi,
I just bought 5300 phone and 2 gb micro sd card, sandisk.
And I am now storing music files to the card via usb connection and phone is shown to pc as a disk.
It transfers 990 MB of music and after that is says card is full.
From gallery it shows memory card as 2 gb card, and full status is 990 MB, free fine also. I tried transfer also with music manager same result. Like the 1 gb is the limit somehow.
    Is it ?

I also have problems with my new Kingston 2GB micro SD card on Nokia 5300. However quite different. I uploaded appr. 1.5 GB music and it worked fine. Then I switched the phone off. When I tried to switch it on again the screen started to flash and after 15 sec the phone switched off itself. It took for a while till I discovered that the problem somehow relates to the memory card. When it was removed the phone worked fine (no flashing, no switch off). I reformatted the memory card and everything worked fine till the next switch off. Then it started again. I updated the software (V 04.70), but it didn't help. I'm not 100% sure but it seems to me that the problem relates to the music player which tries to update the music library after the switch off and somehow it freezes the phone.
Any idea how to solve this?
    In short because I don't have a 5300 - No ...
However - something to try is to see if your card works without problems on a PC (via USB card reader) or laptop (some have memory card slots built in)
Lastly on Nokia's 5300 webpage it states that they only recommend using authorised cards ... it might be worth seeing if you experience the same issue with Nokia's own 2Gb microSD card ?

  • How can I get Verizon to return my memory card- There screw up

After screaming about 1x a week with this new pre-paid SAMSUNG phone, I finally was able to get the store to take the phone and replace it.  Sadly, I was so frustrated with Verizon for my phone never working, and  getting the run around, that I was glad to get the "we will get you a new one".
Wasn't happy that they can't just give me a new one off the wall. (that would be 50 bucks please. (phone was 30 days old).
SO, The guy behind the counter advised me, I would get a new one.  Took battery, I asked if  things were backed up, and he said "yes", the backup synch was set up. "like OK".
So, removed battery and the lid, and the case I bought for it, took my old phone and said wait for new one. (came in today).
I didn't even think of getting my 8GB memory card from the old phone at the time I left the store.
This was 3 days ago (26th of Dec). Today, my new phone came in, it was not synching, not doing the backup right, and then I realized my memory card was not there.
Nicely called the help desk thinking I was calling the store where i returned the phone.  NOPE, got tech support in a different state after 14 minutes of listening to switch witch and running around with button pushing. Just to be told "contact the store diectly".
Headed to store, advised of what happened, and the cheerful guy with hte IPAD, typing your name, pretty much said " to bad".  It's goneft
No help. Just me trying to stay calm, after the head-aches with this phone.  And now I am out an 8GB memory card, that Verizon, in their haste, never took time to remove (but did the battery), and I forgot to remove it myself.
Now, I want Verizon to replace the memory card.  Their phone was bad, every week complained about this phone, and in 30 days, I now had to get it replaced.
I take error in not remembering to get it. BUT, figured the techs behind the scenes would have thought of this.
Anyone know of whom I can contact to ask VZN for a new card?  I lost some vital pics and info from my realtor, and have to bite that, but this wouldn't have  happened, if I could have gotten some satisfactory service, and I still ended up 3 days without a phone.

I admit, I did screw up for not checking. I was just soo steamed with the customer support and going back and forth with phone and offices in Charleston, SC and here in VA, I was just getting frustrated with this phone that i had for 1 week, and couple with the craziness of the hustle trafflc of customers during the holidays.
Just a lot of crazy here, but my new phone is in, I had to get the service center to  reset things, as the backup synch wasn't right, and I will get a new card.
I just wanted a new phone that worked, and oversaw the issues.  This isn't the first time I had to return a phone, but last time, it was a slower pace, and no issues, and I  reminded myself to get the card out.
Got 99% of my contacts. Just wishing there was somehow to track the phone, and have hope, but it was nothing that was life critical.. And cost of new cars is cheap.
Chalk up to "pay attention"....  but oh, the frustration of 6 visits to the stores in 32 days I had that phone.  Ahh!
Happy New Year, and thanks for the replies....

  • Not able to Delete the data from Memory card

    Hi all,
I have bought a new nokia 3120 classic.it is working fine but recently i have received some data from my friend.
Then suddenly the problem begins like.. when i take a photo.. i am getting error like the image is not in the format and i am not able to save that. And also, the main problem is I am unable to delete the data from my memory card.
Every time after deleting i am getting the same data.
Why this happening..is it because of VIRUS?? If so how to delete the virus from my memory card??
When i contacted the nokia care people in bangalore they are saying that they can offer the service of formatting the memory card??
Except that my Phone is working fine..the problem is with Memory card!!!
    Please help me...

you can actually format your memory card first see if you have such option on your phone to format directly from the phone if that is not possible you can always use a card reader and reformat your card using your pc. just understand that all data from that memory card will be lost unless you do a back up of it. if you do a back up and restore the data to the memory card after reformat you might get the same issue so be careful as to what you will decide to do with the data from the card. once you format your card it should all be good unless the card is corrupted itself which can also happen. but first try with the reformat and see if it works out for you.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Memory issues - kernel panics / system freezes with 1Gb Memory Card

I've recently updated my PowerBook OS to 10.4.7 and now more recently 10.4.8.
Prior to this, i had been running a pair of pc2700 memory cards (1x1Gb + 1x 512Mb) bought from crucial technology on 10.3.9 with no problems.
During the upgrade, i experienced complete system lock ups and kernel panics. pulling the 1Gb card resolved the problem.
So i thought it could be duff memory (it happens). I ran hardware checker, both long and short tests, ran memchecker from single user and there was no reported errors although i was still getting crashes.
I returned the memory to crucial and they replaced it and then i went to reinstall memory in the pb.
Once reinstalled, problems re-emerged. Both System profiler and iStat pro show both memory sticks as ok. both are pc2700 DDR.
i tried just the 1 Gb stick in alternate memory slots. with the memory in the lower slot i was getting system freezes, in the top slot i was getting kernel panics.
I've pulled the 1Gb and reverted to 768Mb (512Mb lower (crucial)/ 256MB (apple) upper) and i'm back to normal.
    Now what?
As my mac is getting on, i'd like to get as much RAM in it as i can, ideally the 1.5Gb /2Gb which it can support. I'd be suprised if it could be the memory stick being duff (2 duff in a row?), its not a faulty memory slot as system profiler is showing that its full.
Any suggestions? Anything to do with how 10.4.8 handles the memory addressing?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    PowerBook G4 1Ghz FW800   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I've had that problem, too. I found out that it was one of my memory modules that were broken.
I'd say pop back in your other memory module, then get out your PowerBook DVD and stick it in Restart your PowerBook while holding down the Option Key on your keyboard until some buttons start to show up on your screen.
Select the Hardware Test one, then click the Arrow button. It'll boot into a utility and you can run a hardware test that includes checking your memory.
If any of your memory is bad, it'll show up like "**ERROR ERROR**" and give you a code.
After you've identified the hardware problem (hopefully just the RAM), then you can go to Crucial's website and fill out an RMA request to have the memory replaced. I'm pretty sure Crucial has a life-time warranty on their memory products.

  • I cannot erase alias JPeg images on a memory card so that it will not accept any more which I try to load onto it, yet there are no actual images available if I click on any of them. The error message states that one or more cannot

Cannot delete aliases for JPeg images on a lumix camera memory card even selecting individual images anjd trying to move to trash -error35 one or more items cannot be found. No image available on clicking or if card put back into camera-"no images to disply" Yet if try to add more images, message that card is full! Any suggestions?

Deleting from iPhoto or image capture after import should be fine and shouldn't cause any issues. Deleting from the folder view of finder, can cause issues as the camera can the image is still there. You can try emptying the trash on your mac if you deleted them via the finder, as although you've deleted it, it's only marked as trashed and not actually deleted until you empty the trash - ie it won't relieve the space taken by the files.
If your still having issues after you try this, you may be best formating the memory card. This will wipe all data on it though, so make sure you do copy anything off that yo u want to keep! Format from the camera, so that choosing the format>erase all option from the menu of most cameras.

  • Camcorder video error: "Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."

We purchased two Samsung Droid Charges the first day they were released and recently they've both been getting this error after 8-15 seconds of recording in HD (1280x720): "Warning: Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."
Called Verizon tech support, but they referred me to Samsung. Not knowing much about micro SDHC cards, I was alarmed to discover that the factory pre-installed 32gb card is only rated class 2 for speed. Samsung told me you need a minimum of speed class 4 or higher to record at this resolution. The only problem is you need an SD card installed in order to use the camcorder, period. In other words, all of us who payed an arm and a leg for the best phone Verizon sells now have to go buy our own micro sd card that actually supports all of the phone features as advertised?! The lowest prices I've seen for the faster cards are $70. Are we the only two Charge owners experiencing this problem?  I've read somewhere that lower speed class cards may initially support faster speeds than they are rated until they accumulate more files, so the problem may go undetected for some time until you have more files that are stored in different locations on the card (making them difficult to access at the faster speeds). This may explain why are the first ones to get this error since we've had the phones the longest and only 50% free space remaining on the SD card. Oh, Samsung also said they won't be able to replace your card for one that has the proper speed rating. Kind of seems like false advertising to say a feature is available (HD camcorder), and then not mention the fact that the memory card provided isn't sufficient for that feature (separate upgrade required). Anyone else sharing the same frustrations? Ideas?

Thanks for the response. I've tried everything on that page. It's not an issue with the cable, or firewire port or the cable being connected properly, as the iSight camera works fine with iChat. I've disconnected the only other firewire device on the computer, didn't make any difference. Camera works fine in iChat, so it's not the camera itself. And, as I mentioned in the post, the same camera, if hooked up to my laptop, works just fine recording in QuickTime. So, it appears to be an issue with the QuickTime installation on this computer. I've done a search for the same error I'm getting and found some other occurrences with the same problems, but none that offered a solution.

  • Image browser "memory card utility" downloading to wrong date folder

    Mac OSX 10.7, Image Browser 6.9.0.3 (9L)
I own 5Dmarkii and 60D.  When I insert memory card, Memory Card Utility (1.7.0.0.9L) launches.  I select Download, and program transfers to my computer.  No fancy settings, just standard.
Both cameras date setting is correct, and image efix data is correct for date and time shot.  Computer system date and time correct.
Pictures taken prior to 5:00pm are filed in a folder with previous days date.  Photos after 5:00pm are filed in correct days folder.
    Driving me nuts..... Help please

I'm having the same issue.  The Canon software behaves as though it catagorizes the photos (and names them, based on the way I'm importing them) based upon what day it was/is in England (I  think it uses GMT when making the date classification)
For me, it is also usually an annoyance, but sometimes it's more frustrating.  If I want my files named by date, correctly, then I have to re-name all the photos taken after 4:00 pm (16:00).
Yes, my camera (7D) and computer (MacBook Pro) have their date and time settings correct.  (I tried changing the time zone my camera was set to to see if it changed the problem, and it didn't.  The Canon software is mis-placing the photos based on the date.)
I might try this workflow on a Windows machine, and see if it persists.
    Anyone have any ideas?
