6233 Quirks/Bugs...

Not sure if similar have been posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything. Is there an official way to post this information to Nokia? Or does this forum fullfil that need?
Bugs/Quirks 6233 v 6230i
On my 6230i you could type a number in and go to options, which gave you the currency converter, in the 6233 you have to go to calculator
No option to set the Inbox as your up arrow option key
In a text message you can't edit a phone number in the address book before sending
If I remove voicemail from the go to list, turn the phone off and on again and it reappears in the list
Long texts, on my 6230i when a long text arrives and I get the "some text is missing" I then get an envelope on the screen when the rest of the message turns up, not on the 6233.
I haven't got the option for predictive to guess the whole word, in my 6230i I type in tomor and it will pop up tomorrow, in the 6233 I have to type in the whole word.

  • Textarea character count feature quirk/bug

    Apex 4.1.1.00.23
    I've found a quirky thing about the textarea page item. The character count feature counts carriage-return-line-feed (CRLF) as one character, as you would expect it to, but it's stored as two characters in the database because of the way Windows handles new lines.
    So, aside from using clob columns or explaining to users how Windows handles CRLF characters, any thoughts on how one might manage this quirk?

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 template PHP file path bug

    I have a template that I am using for my website, it is a PHP template and for some reason whenever I have some links within the PHP code blocks that include other .php files. My code is:
    <?php
    //Code In template
    include('../scripts/MySqlConnection.php');
    include('../scripts/login.php');
    ?>
    The code is just including some files, but when I update all the pages that use this Template they dont put the right links on them, like so:
    <?php
    //Code That Appears On Child Page
    include('scripts/MySqlConnection.php');
    include('../scripts/login.php');
    ?>
    For some reason the first link is correct since this document is in the root of the site instead of in the Templates folder like my template is, but the second "include" statement has the wrong link inside of it. Even if I switch them around its always the very first include statement that is correct and the 2nd is always wrong.
    Also the links are all relative to the document and not site root in the "Manage Sites..." dialog.
    Is there anyway to fix this? I heard that this was a quirk/bug in Dreamweaver 8 or something but is it still not fixed in this version?
    Thanks

    Yes I guess that I am gonna have to use one of those solutions, but it still is weird that this is happening within the code though. I found one thread where the solution was to put the include tags into a seperate PHP block like this:
    //Template
    <?php include('../scripts/MySqlConnection.php'); ?>
    <?php include('../scripts/login.php'); ?>
    And it actually outputted the correct links on the child page which is really weird but this was from like Dreamweaver 8 or MX or something because the thread was from like 2007 which is weird that they hadn't fixed this bug yet considering its 2012 and Dreamweaver CS5.5 still has the bug.

  • Share Media Browser - "Unable to prepare project ... error occurred (-108)"

    Finally got my sequence rebuilt after discovering bug/quirk with iMovie (details later). When sharing movie either via/Media Browser or "Export Movie" option after 10-15 min. get this exact message: "Unable to prepare project for publishing. The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (-108)." It plays wonderfully in preview (full screen or normal) from beginning to end. Any ideas?
    Bug/quirk discovered. Long time on this project. Had it exactly like I wanted, would generate movie and have mysterious background audio when video tracks were purposely muted. Playing within iMovie environment it worked flawlessly and would only show up in rendered movie. Also the background audio didn't match the playing video clip but was coming from other included clips elsewhere in the movie. BIG mystery. Tried breaking apart movie and re-doing. Still crept in. Finally discovered I had duplicate video files in the ./iMovie Events/ directory, "<filename> 1.mov". I surmise that iMovie is using the most recent duplicate, "<filename> 1.mov" which I was muting but the rendering process was using the original "<filename>.mov" clips. Still a mystery on audio not matching clip but it could be due the trimming I had done throwing the timing off. The duplicates happened when I had moved/copied video content in "Event Library" to manage disk consumption. It failed somewhere in the process and I ended up with duplicate video clips. The aforementioned quirk/bug still appears to not be corrected with latest update as it still occurs.

    Hi

    My guesses are
    • Turn off TimeMachine during use of iMovie - use to set Heap Zone right
    • Turn off Mac totally and re-start - Frees up RAM
    • Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up hard disk - so that iMovie and Mac OS can store it's temp.files here. IMPORTANT

    In Tiger, there was no trouble deleting a file which was attached to an email.
    In Leopard, i could never delete a file until the message it was attached to had been sent.
    In Snow Leopard, i can't delete any file that has ever been attached to an email without first 'Quitting' the Mail application, which i'm used to doing very rarely.

    It's got Smart Mailbox problems, this problem, search problems, wonky changing style behaviors, problems with the cursor springing off to odd locations when doing much editing of styled mail, and many more quirks; +far more than i notice in any other Apple app i use.+
    I've long ago established that none of this junk can be traced to my install (redone that) or any add-ons, that I've got on the system.

  • Watch failing to notify me to stand up, doesn't track when I stand up

    Got my watch yesterday, and aside from three times total in the past 24+ hours of having it and wearing it, it doesn't alert me to stand up once per hour.
    The watch also doesn't seem to track when I stand up of my own accord, be it to just stand up for a minute, or when I move around my house to get things done.
    Is there something I need to do to get the watch to sense when I'm standing up, and to tell me to stand up once per hour? It alerted me 3 hours in a row, always at the 50 minute marker (such as 1:50, 2:50, etc) to stand up for a minute. Then it stopped.
    I wear the watch as tight as possible.

    If I understand it correctly, your watch wants you to stand 1 minute per hour, all hours you are awake for the day. If it does manage to track when you stand up, it should track one minute per each hour you're on your feet, and add that to the activity wheel. Total for 12 minutes in a day. I could see wanting it to track the 30 minutes (arbitrary number) you're standing here and there, so you have that info - that would be a nice feature. While it's arguably healthier to be on your feet more often than not during the day, I think Apple's main goal is to just get people up once per hour.
    I do use the workout app.
    All alerts are on. Sometimes it reminds me to stand up every hour at the fifty-minute mark, sometimes it goes hours without.
    I was also on my feet for two straight hours on Saturday and it didn't notice it until I was 1.5 hours in, and then it asked me to stand up.
    Yes, lots of little quirks/bugs popping up all over the place. Passcode issues, the watch interrupting the bluetooth connection of phone-to-car (and requiring me to un-pair then re-pair my phone to car) when I get a notification of any kind, the stand tracking issue, not tracking movement accurately, etc. I don't mind, though. I'm usually a beta tester for other products and video games, so I just try to report what I encounter.

  • I'v uninstalled and reinstalled  itunes Still dosen't work any ideas

    Program will not start  Get error 7 ( window error 127)

    I'm having the same problem with my Wife's old iPhone 3G.  It's battery went completely dead and now all it does when I hit the power button is shows the screen that shows the animated charger/battery saying to plug it into a charger and then it shuts off.  The thing is, it's plugged into a charger, I've tried several, I've tried getting into DFU mode to restore 4.2.1 and see if that would help but I can't get into DFU mode because the iPhone shuts off before it gets a chance to load I suppose.
    If I find a solution that works to get the iPhone out of this quirk/bug mode it's in right now from the battery dying, I will post it here so you can fix your iPhone as well.
    Best of luck with finding your solution to fix this!  We're both probably going to need it because so far I've searched for the answer for the past hour and still can't get it to even start charging.

  • Inconsistent Date Implementation in Apps (Yosemite)

    After upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.2 from Mavericks (10.9.latest), I've noticed several inconsistencies in how dates are shown in various apps.
    System Prefs Settings:
    Short: dd/mm/yy
    Medium: d/mon/yyyy
    Long: d month yyyy
    Full: Day, d month yyyy
    Calendar:
    When I double-click an event in Month view, the dates show up as d mon yyyy: i.e., 8 May 2015 — CORRECT
    When I edit an event, however, the date shows up as mm/dd/yyyy, i.e., 05/08/2015 — INCORRECT
    iTunes:
    Music: Last played shows as dd/mm/yy — CORRECT
    Podcasts: Release date shows as mm/dd/yyyy — INCORRECT
    Podcasts: Last played shows as dd/mm/yy — CORRECT
    I've checked, rechecked, and triple-checked System Prefs to be sure that dates are set the way I want — they seem to be.
    Am I doing something wrong or missing something or is this a quirk (bug) in Yosemite?

  • InsomniaX is no longer work in SL.....

    any alternative ?
    Regards from Chile
    Gian Carlo

    An earlier version (Legacy 0.5??) of InsomniaX sorta works. It has annoying quirks/bugs, but it's the only alternative I know of at this time. And the developer for InsomniaX seems to have vanished so I'm not sure how/when InsomniaX will get fixed.
    To get the old InsomniaX go to the website, http://semaja2.net. You can download Legacy 0.5 from the link at the bottom of the InsomniaX page. You can also get it as one of the files listed on http://insomniax.semaja2.net/
    Problems I've encountered using this older version:
    - You have to enter BOTH your useried & password every time you load/activate InsomniaX
    - Once it's loaded it will NOT unload. Only way I know of to clear it is to reboot.
    - When I tried using the "console log", it went into an infinite loop and kept popping up error msg windows. I killed InsomniaX with the Activity Monitor to get rid of them.
    If you hear of a better solution than the above, please let us all know!

  • DVDSP crashing on MPEG preview - New Install - New Encodes

    I've been troubleshooting for a week and can't get DVDSP to work.
    PROBLEM:
    DVDSP will freeze (spinning beach ball) when attempting to playback or preview encoded video from Compressor. I've tried all the presets available for DVD-video and I've encoded them to six different drives hoping to eliminate drive failure, including a RAID array and a second internal SATA.
    I have re-installed all Final Cut Studio software and updates.
    I've also re-installed OSX, (and updated) about five times, also to different drives AND to different computers.
    I zero-formatted the drive to eliminate possible corruption.
    And I reset the PRAM and PMU on the G5.
    If anyone has any suggestions, please email me or reply. Thanks.

    G5/Dual 2GB/4.5GB RAM/FW800Storage/Decklink   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    That is strange that one-Pass works but 2 Pass crashes things. Just to confirm that wheen you tried 2 Pass that you did it for SD and not HD (or vice versa). It sounds like you did, but I figured I would put it out there just in case.
    Have you checked to see if your RAM is okay? That can cause issues also.
    Try downloading a demo of bitVice http://www.innobits.com/ssl/download.php or another encoder and try 2 Pass on a couple of sections to see if it works. Digigami also has downloads of demos (could not get to their website right now) and some other downloads of demos are out there, but bitVice is a solid application.
    If bitVice does work properly, you may want to file a bug report with Apple. It may also be related to 10.4.8 - there definately seems to be some quirks/bugs between the Universal Binary, QT and the flavors of Tiger.

  • Setting up a new email account on mail, the password is entered for connecting to the in

    Assuming that in this day and age you want security.
    Setting up a new email account on mail, the password is entered for connecting to the in & outgoing servers before SSL is set.  Before you can set SSL, mail connects to the servers so email password is transmitted unencrypted?
    This seems a very obvious quirk/bug and something that I have always felt uncomfortable about.
    Anyone else think this is not a good thing?

    Actually it look like all apple devices have the same mail setup procedure, so are your email passwords all being sent over the network in plain text before you get the chance to set the SSL option?
    Any security experts care to comment.

  • I/PM Web Services -- Large searches terminating early?

    We have a client that's trying to extract the images from an older Oracle I/PM system for some external processing, and we are trying to use the Web Services SDK (Acorde2.asmx) to accomplish this. However, we are having problems getting the web service to return more than a fixed number of search results from any given query.
    I tried following the samples provided by the SDK documentation, but they don't seem to explain much beyond doing a very small, simple search. So far I've figured out that I need to start by calling BeginSavedSearch(), followed by ContinueSavedSearchBySearchConnectionID() until I get back a result with a SearchStatus of 2 (Complete). This works for smaller result sets, but for larger ones I eventually run into a situation where the search result's SearchStatus is 32 ("Stopped") and there doesn't appear to be a way to start it again. I'm assuming this is related to the Windows client's dialog box that comes up and asks you to continue a search after x number of records, but this is happening well before it hits that limit. Specifically, I'm running a query with a maximum rows between auto-pause of 250,000 but my API calls are terminating after only 25,000.
    What do I need to do to get the remaining 90% of the results from this query?
    Thanks for any help,

    doubleEspresso,
    For starters... that's a great handle.
    I'm having [FUN] figuring out how to deploy [ ... ] web services.I know diddly about PowerBuilder, Oracle, Glassfish, or even JAX-WS.
    We use JBuilder, Weblogic, and Informix|Ingres... but all the servers (pretty much) conform to a J2SE standard... just each has it's own quirks, bugs undocumented features, and "nice little" extensions.
    JBuilder creates ant scripts for you. Then you just build with ant (inside JBuilder) which runs APPC for you (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/appc_ejbc.html)... I guess Glashfish MIGHT have an equivalent.
    We have to fix a couple of things after regenerating the ant scripts... including a classpath clash on xerces between ant, weblogic, and our app... Grrr... So setting it up is painful days, but once you've got it setup it's great... you just run the whole build... and it can even deploy on the fly... weblogic has a "hot swap" feature... you just copy the war/ear file to the appropriate directory and it redeploys automagically... I think (don't quote me on it) that Glassfish also has this feature.
    At face value this looks like a good summary:
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/tutorial/1_3-fcs/doc/WCC3.html
    Oh yeah... the "remote" server management framework is a standard... so all the servers have some form of console which allows you to configure and deploy a new application... Netbeans even has a couple of wizards to deploy to PE9, which I presume use the svr mgt framework.

  • 10.5 portable home sync rules not being respected on the client...

    Portable home syncing is working great for me on my Tiger server and clients, and I'm an old hat at Apple server and OD.... However in my test environment for 10.5, my client machines reuse to respect the rules that I've set in 10.5 Server Workgroup Manager for portable home syncing. I was hoping 10.5.2 would fix this for me, but no luck....
    I can tell that the clients are bound to the OD and are reading the MCX settings from the server, because I can change the sync time interval, and that is being reflected on the client. WGM is set to NOT allow settings to be merged with user's settings, so I can eliminate the client settings as a variable.
    Both Login/Logout and background sync are effected by this problem.
    Is anyone else having this issue?

    Bruce's solution above does indeed work. However, I must have stared at his answer for 20 minutes trying to figure out what he was talking about. Undoubtedly, my inability to initially parse his solution comes from my more basic understanding of OS X Server. Since there are likely others out there with this same Home Sync problem and my same level of experience with OS X Server I wanted to give Bruce's answer again but with more detail.
    The problem, as explained by the original post, is that Home Sync settings for a user or group aren't necessarily respected. For example, if I were to open Workgroup Manager (WGM), select myself as a user (Berylium), click Preferences, select Mobility from the Overview tab, and select the Rules tab I would be in the Home Sync preferences. If I tell the Login & Logout Sync tab to Always do what I select and then I uncheck the Sync at login and logout checkbox one would expect that when I log in or log out I would not see a Home Sync dialog popup and perform a sync operation - but I did.
    The issue as Bruce explains occurs because of another setting I have enabled, Background Sync, and a quirk (bug?) in Leopard Server. I have Background Sync enabled, set to Always, and told to sync in the background my ~/Documents and ~/Desktop folders. Leopard Server, it seems, performs the following operation when I login or logout:
    1. Is Login & Logout Sync enabled? No, ok skip this part.
    2. Is Background Sync enabled? Yes! Ok, sync the background sync items now even though this is a login or log out.
    Clever, Apple. Ok, now that the problem has been explained let's get to the solution.
    1. Open WGM, select your problem user or group, click Preferences, and select the Details tab
    2. Click the +, navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/, select ManagedClient, and click Add
    - At this point, at least in my installation, several more items appeared in the preference editor list.
    3. Select Home Sync in the preference editor list then click the Edit button (looks like a pencil)
    4. Expand the Always list item
    - Obviously, this is where some people's solution could begin to differ from mine. You may want to edit items in the Once or Often list items.
    5. Click the New Key button, a New Item will be created and selected, click New Item and select Sync Background Set During Login from the list.
    6. Change the Value item for Sync Background Set During Login from automatic to dontSync
    7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 but select Sync Background Set During Logout
    8. Click Apply Now followed by Done
    Now you should be all set. Thank you Bruce for the solution to this problem and I hope someone else finds my more detailed explanation helpful.

  • PATA/SATA boot order anomaly?

    Just tried adding XP 64-bit for dual-boot fun and discovered the following BIOS quirk (bug?).  Has this been noted somewhere else? Here's my setup and problem:
    No RAID anywhere, two HDDs total: 1 on SATA 1, 1 on PATA 2. I have a DVD drive on PATA 1.
    I usually boot XP Pro from SATA 1.  I had to change the HDD order in BIOS so it won't try my non-bootable PATA HDD first. This has worked (almost) every time until now.
    Discovered that if I have a bootable CD (like 64-bit installer) in my PATA DVD drive, the BIOS overrides the SATA priority if I don't choose to boot from CD. I.e., I don't push "any key to boot from CD" and when BIOS moves on to boot from HDD, it goes for PATA rather than SATA, apparently because it's just tried a device (DVD) on the parallel controller so why not try the next parallel device, despite the SATA priority setting in BIOS. No boot files on PATA HDD so failed boot. Then I suppose then it normally tries SATA and everything's fine.
    Except 64-bit is now installed on a partition on PATA drive (don't ask), and apparently the BIOS quirk I'm describing with such piercing clarity made the 64-bit installer write a new MBR and/or set the PATA drive as boot (? - I'm over my head here), with the result that I get different NT boot screens depending on whether or not I have a bootable CD in the drive -- regardless of whether or not I actually boot from it.
    Practical result: if I have a bootable CD in the DVD drive (but don't boot from it), I get XP 64-bit 'cause it boots from PATA drive first. If I take out the CD, I get XP Pro 32-bit like I used to, booting from SATA drive first.
    Further result is that neither 64-bit nor regular XP Pro boot loader routines can accurately boot into the other OS even if boot.ini is manually edited, because of BIOS disk enumeration quirks I'm guessing.
    Okay this now makes little sense even to me, but if someone sees a flaw in my logic (rather than the BIOS HDD priority setting), well I'd be grateful to hear it. Otherwise I'll send it along to MSI.

    You mean you have boot device 1 2 3 setup lets say
    Hard Drive
    CDROM
    Floppy
    And you leave something in the cdrom iboots to it anyways? or you have the cdrom disabled?

  • Gnash unable to work thanks to a missing libGLU.so.1 file.

    When I try to use gnash to open a flash file, it spits this error at me:
    gnash: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also, I need to make this act as a plugin for Firefox, as well. I originally tried the 32-bit solution for Arch64, but ran into some weird quirks/bugs that made it unusable.
    Edit: According to #archlinux's bot, mesa owns /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1, but it wasn't a dependency of gnash. Should I install mesa or is there another solution?
    Edit2: I tried installing mesa and gnash seemed to work, but barely. I think there's another solution for this.. perhaps there's some symlinking to be done?

    the actual file in question is LibGLU ... note +U+, you need to correct the title of this thread ...
    [raeven@Lux32  ~]# p -Qo /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1
    /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 is owned by mesa 6.5.3-1
    the file is owned by hte mesa pkg, if you haven't got it installed, install it otherwise re-install it.
