6233 Voice activated calls

Hi,
The voice activated function on the 6233 works quite well and recognises most of the names in my phone book. The system behaves inconsistently when a contact has more than one number linked to them.
For contacts with only one telephone number, the system dials their number within a second of me selecting their name entry.
However, for contacts with two or more numbers such as Mobile and Work, I choose the number to dial (after selecting the right contact) and have to wait for 6 seconds for the system to display the "calling...." screen. Is there a short cut? Why is there such a long delay for contacts with multiple phone entries?
I have version 4.91 of the software.
Thanks
David

Actually, the 6233 DOES have voice recognition. The phone will recognise the name you say and find the contact for you without you having to record voice tags. Just press and hold down "Names" and speak after the beep.

  • 6233 voice activated dialling feature. TERRIBLE!!!

For the last 30 mins I have been trying to find a way of recording my own voice tags for voice activated-calling on my 6233. What a waste of time. I think it is ridiculous that Nokia has not included this feature and according to the previous posts they are not going to put it into an firmware updates. I still have my Nokia 6230i which I think I will start using again. There are things I like about the 6233 but there are to many glitches, also the font for the time whilst in stand-by mode not only looks terrible but is hard to read. What are the people at Nokia thinking? They have put a load of junk on to the 6233 and not put the useful stuff that was on the 6230i on it. I've used Nokias for 8 years and I am now seriously considering getting a Sony Ericsson next time I can get an upgrade. WISE UP NOKIA!!

The new voice recognition that appears in almost all of Nokia's latest products does have built-in training, called adaptation, which means over time and with use the accuracy should increase.
The trouble with speaker independent voice recognition is that for some people, the accuracy is good enough from the outset, but for others it is not. This is why adaptation is included in the Nokia version to help improve the accuracy - but it is hidden from the menus.
You can test this adaptation by using the voice dialler and if it gets the name or command correct, select that name or command. This tells the voice recognition to adapt to your voice. If you don't select, then it won't adapt.
If this is repeated for several names or commands, then the accuracy should start to improve.
Another problem is that sometimes people have strange names in the phonebook that can sometimes spoof the voice recognition - it is worth listening to any strange phonebook names using the "playback voice tag" just to make sure.

that's alot to do especially when you don't have lots of time on your hands. its kind of ridiculous IMO. if it wasn't like that then names wouldn't make a difference whether its french or spanish or transfered from your sim, that's the names that confuses the voice dialler and causes it to come back empty, with the wrong name or a list of names. a headache while driving.
    everything happens for a reason

  • Can you initiate voice activated calls through BT Headset?

This is the million dollar question.
Does the iPhone 3Gs allow you to initiate voice-activated calls through a Blue Tooth Headset?
Can anyone here who has the 3Gs verify that they can do this?

I have the jawbone prime and also can not get the voice control to work. This was confirmed in the review over at www.mobiletechreview.com
    THIS *****!!!!
I've been waiting a long time to have quality voice control on the iphone. Bluetooth connected voice control is the only real safe way to make a call while driving.
How can Apple be so stupid to not include that option. It's bad enough they didn't include voice control in the iphone 3G, but not to include the simple option of using a bluetooth headset...dumb.
    It's just dumb.
    FIX THE PROBLEM APPLE!

  • Voice Activated Calling

I purchased a Treo 700 WX today and I'm trying to activate the voice activated calling.  Is this model equipped with the appropriate software for this action or do I need to download/purchase it?

  • Making a call with voice activation

I have been using a Palm for 5 or 6 years that has allowed me to make calls by either naming the individual (voice command) or saying the numbers. It is invaluable (and much safer) while driving. Does either the iPhone or any Third Party software support this capability?

    Hello,
We can't even have the phone in our hands while driving in Québec. I currently have a Blackberry pearl and wanted to switch to the Iphone but without voice activation calls I won't... I only have to push on the main button on my bluetooth headset and tell my contact to have the call placed. Does this apps allow for some "automation" like when I get in the car I activate it and then I don't need to push any buttons on the phone ?
    Thanks

  • SNMP for 6608 active calls

I have been trying to find a way to poll my 6500 for the total number of active calls via SNMP. I am looking to get this data into a graph made by MRTG.
From the CLI, I get the data via 'sh port voice active call'
    Anyone have an idea?

There are no separate MIB modules defined for the 6608 card. However, if you want to see the number of completed calls from Call Manager, you can use the performance monitor counters. To view the number of completed calls, start up performance counters, added a new counter, select "Cisco MGCP PRI Device" under Performance object. One of the counters is "CallsCompleted". This should show you what you're looking for. For more information, visit

  • How do I unlock voice activation on iphone

How do I unlock voice activation on iPhone 4

Hi Kilted Tim, thank you for your quick response.
Yup, I've had the unlimited plan for about 4-5 years, and I do everything I can to keep from losing it, for obvious reasons.
As you advise, I've been using the iphone in airplane mode with wifi activated which works fine when I am in wifi range. But of course when I'm out and about I want to use my data roaming for internet, maps, skype, whatever so I take it out of airplane mode.
The trouble is that I get incoming calls and am charged international rates even when I dont answer. I havent looked lately but I think AT&T charges me for one minute even for unanswered incoming calls.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

  • Isdn Layer 1 deactivated when there is no active call

    Hi All,
I am in Nairobi Kenya. Here we use ISDN Basic-net3 and my problem is that most of the telco switches here deactivate Layer 1 when there is no active call.
When I try to initiate a call by using the ISDN test call command I get an error to the effect that B channel is not available.
The only way I can initiate a call is I first call the line then and then disconnect. Then I have about 5 seconds to make a test call and pings are successful. How do I make the router initiate a call when layer 1 is deactivated.
the debug isdn q921 out has nothing till a call comes in.
I also understatnd that European ISDN switches deactivate Layer 1 when there no active call. I dont have a problem with one of the switches, coz it does not bring down the line when there is no active call.
    Thakx in advance
    Martin

    Thanks for the quick response.
    It is a cisco 1760
    The IOS is c1700-sv3y-mz.122-15.T5.bin
When I try to make a test call the show isdn status initially indicates that the router is trying to activate layer 1 then after 5 seconds it indicates that it is deactivated.

  • My bluetooth headset connects, but it is not a source option on an active call. Why?

I get an icon indicating that the plantronics M1100 headset is connected and working properly on my display. The headset even asks me if i want to answer incoming calls. But when i say "answer", i can only use the handset or speaker phone. I cannot get an active call to go to my headset. This just started happening. If there is a setting i am missing in the iPhone 4s please let me know. thanks!

I am suddenly having a similar issue with my Motorola H17 bluetooth headset.  it is pairing/connected with my iphone 4.  i can use the voice control feature to dial a number.  but i cannot get any audio and cant answer calls from the headset.

  • Suri conflict with voice activation

Suri and Voice Activation - I have discovered an issue when using a bluetooth headset,  when activating voice control via the bluetooth to call someone, if Suri is on the call cannot be completed.  There seems to be a conflict between Suri and Voice activation from bluetooth.

Well, I have never come across this issue before, but it sounds like a quality of service issue and not really a port issue of any sort so I doubt opening any type of port will fix anything. If your ONT allows it, try bypassing our router with the linksys and see if the problem is fixed.  Just want to verify it is the actiontech router causing the issue...

  • Automobile Voice activation and IOS7

Ever since upgrading to IOS7, my voice activation does not work in my Buick Enclave.  Is there a fix for this?  Buick says it is an Apple thing.

    It is called VoiceOver
    See:
iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)
Try using three finger to scroll.  Also try triple clicking the Home buton to turn off and then go to Settings|>Accessibilty to really turn off.

  • Nokia 7100 Voice activation

I have just bought the Nokia 7100 Supernova - I wanted to stay with Nokia because of the voice activation and having a hands free kit in the car. Firstly I can't figure out how to set up voice activation & secondly, although I have twinned the phone with my active device in the car & they look connected, when I try & make or receive a call nothing happens - usually the radio cuts out & the voice comes through the speakers & this isn't happening - help!!!!!

    1. In the standby mode, press and hold the right selection key or the volume down key.
A short tone sounds, and Speak now is displayed.
    2. Speak the name of the contact you want to dial. If the voice recognition is successful,
a list with matches is shown. The phone plays the voice command of the first match
on the list. If it is not the correct command, scroll to another entry.

  • X3 - 02: Voice activation

Just acquired the X3.  Have been used to making a call by use of Bluetooth headset by pressing a button and saying the name of the person I want to call.  The old method does not work on this model.  Do I have to do something to set up voice activated dialling?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In case anyone thinks of researching this - don't bother.
I have now discovered that this phone does not support voice activated dialling.  (Yes - in 2010 this basic Bluetooth function is not provided.)  This information has come from a specialist at Nokia , who himself expressed amazement that this is the situation.  None of the Sales staff at the shop I bought the phone were aware of this - but they are now, and intend not to push this to other unsuspecting customers.
In short - if you need to use your phone whilst driving, this is not the model for you.
