6233 voicemail problem

Hi. I cant find this problem mentioned on here so ill run it by you:
1. I have the 'reel to reel' voicemail alert symbol permanantly showing on my screen, regardless of whether i have voice messages in my voicebox or not.
2. I get no screen alert (as in text on screen: 'voice message received') when a voice message is left for me.
I have spoken to various call handlers at Orange and they have all been utterly useless. The girl today said i was missing some system files but that she couldnt send me an update as Nokia had not released them to Orange yet. She said I needed to download some software off this site but couldnt tell me where to find it or what its name was.
Any help much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the help guys.

  • Visual Voicemail problem on 02-UK, anyone else??

I'm having a problem with my iPhone 3GS atm.
Its to do with Visual Voicemail, basicly when some one leaves a message the phone doesn't inform me of it like it used to do a few weeks ago.
If i turn the phone off with the red slider and power back up it detects them instantly and they are there to view as normal.
I have phoned O2 and they have told me to turn VM off then on again with the 1760 and 1750 numbers, that didn't solve it. They have told me to reset my network settings this didn't fix it either. As of now they don't know what else to try as it is working its just the phone isn't retrieving them while its on.
Updated to 3.0.1 the other day could be this but cant see how.
The US network has a problem it seems with this atm.
I can hold down the "1" and check for messages manually but its not ideal.
All i can do now is take it to an Apple or O2 shop to see if the phone is broke somehow but i don't think its this its a network thing i am sure.
I never lose the 3G signal so its not that and roaming is 'off' which is what O2 told me to set it at. (i have tried it with it on as well)
I can make calls etc fine, i can use the net just fine. I have turned wireless mode off and tried it while connected to my wireless network.
Can anyone else test theirs and report back by just ringing their own phone plz???

I seem to have found a solution that works for me:
The problem seems to be occuring only after I delete unheard visual voicemails... I, then, don't seem to be able to receive new voicemails until I turn my iPhone off and back on (or do a hard reset).
However this problem doesn't occur if I listen to my messages before deleting them...
So bottomline: listen to your messages entirely and before you delete them...
Calling my usual voicemail number (not using visual voicemail) to listen to messages that haven't gotten to my visual voicemail seem to reset everything and enables me to receive new visual voicemails...

  • Visual Voicemail Problems

Back when we were able to download the visual voicemail on our phones, I followed the steps it said, which including restoring my phone. I did that but I had the problem where people would leave me voicemails and it would not show up. The only way I would know if their was voicemails was by holding down 1 and checking it that way. I hadnt resolved the issue. And now last night I had downloaded the new iso4 software and it is all installed correctly I thot, but when I try access my visual voicemail it says "voicemail unavailable - could not authorize access". If I got into my settings and change voicemail password it does the same thing. Why am I getting this message? I am confuzed. Please help.

If your not getting your Visual VM just delete all of your old voicemails, then clear the deleted list and all of your voicemails will pop up in Visual VM again.
I still have no idea how Apple & AT&T dont QA test all of the new software updates and would believe its due to Apples insistence to launch new software on an archais system

  • Droid x voicemail problem

I have been having a problem with my voicemail icon not disappearing after I have cleared out all of my messages.
I have checked to see if there is a way to reset the notification, and there wasn't.  I looked at the notification area and the clear button did not make it go away.  There was no x button or anything at the icon.  When I press and hold the icon it calls my voice mail and does not give me a option to delete it.
This is the second time around I have had this problem.  I did a full system reset on my droid x and that seemed to fix the problem for a couple of days.  But once I received another voicemail the icon will not go away again.
Any idea's on how to fix this or should I just call Verizon and get rid of it?

had the same problem, coming over from BB... Here is what I have found... You can do it (adding the pauses) by editing the number in the contacts list...  You MUST change the keyboard layout to multi-tap.....there u will find the pause and wait keys...... The only thing about doing this is that in order to use this feature is that u have to go into contacts and select Voice Mail... You cannot use the Voice Mail Icon on the home screen...  It is proprietary... I noticed the two little buttons at the bottom of the screen...(call voice mail) and (Subscibe to Visual Voice Mail)... Guess what.. If you subscribe to Visual Voice Mail you can use the Voice Mail Button on the home screen and not have to enter the paswword everyime....  Con: 2.99  month.... I subscribed to see how it works... Nice little feature.... shows who left the voice mail what time. etc....
Now there is an article over on the Motorola site about how to use the pause and wait features... I found it and wished I had bookmarked it....Do a search on "adding pause to dialing" in the support forums for Droid X... There are a few, but one had detailed instructions with pictures...
    Hope this helps.

  • Fixing nokia 6233 MMS Problem

    I. I've just had a problem sending MMS with the Nokia 6233. When you tried to send a MMS the phone just turned white and them went to the first Menu. It seems that when you trie to send a MMS and you have delivery reports turned on (of the MMS) it blanks. Choose not to want delivery reports on the MMS and it will work. If you already changed it (and you can't send MMS) you have to reset the phone fisrt. Then do the changes you want but don't choose the reports active. If you've never changed the settings don't change it.

  • Just bought a 6233, Keypad problems - :(

Hey folks, this is my issue
I've just recieved a Nokia 6233 this morning, been looking forward to it all week. Now it finally arrives I began following the instructions, to put the sim in, the memory and charge it up.
Everything was seemly going fine but then I noticed while messing around with all the fancy features that depressingly.. it doesn't seem like the keypad buttons for 1,2,3 are working.
There is no sound coming out of the phone when these numbers are pressed and they are creating letters for text messages etc, though every other button seems to be fine.
I hope someone can help, maybe its just a setting, or it needs to be upgraded (firmware?). After waiting and waiting, I can't believe this is happening.. perhaps I've missed something.. I just don't know what to do.Message Edited by eclipse on 24-Aug-2006

unfortunatley with todays advanced technology handsets {as well as other gadgets} do fail.
Fortunatly Nokia understand this and thats why they provide a 1st class guarantee with thier fones. Purchasing with confidence is their strength.
Dont be dismayed in your recent experiance. Read the other posts on this ite and you will come to realise we all have had slight disappointments with handsets but have mostly been looked after in the customer service side of it all

  • Droid Razr Voicemail problem

I just purchased a Droid Razr phone.  I want to set up my voicemail for the first time but it keeps prompting me for a password which I don't have yet.  HELP?

Hi rocket77! Other than this little voicemail snag, I hope you're enjoying your new phone. Did you have Verizon Wireless service already? If you did, the voicemail password would actually be the same for your old and new phone. If you need to reset your voicemail password, here's a really helpful link on how to get back into your messages: http://bit.ly/OQ9fjL

  • 6233 Crashing problem

Hi i just bought my phone yesterday and already iv had a heap of rebooting problems.
A few times my fone has like froze and sort of reset, usually happens when i go through menus really fast and the the mem card menu.
Also you no that tone you get like the keypad tone when you go through options and stuff? Well a few times it has like made a real bad hissing or distorting noise and there is no sound, just the hissing and like everything works but when i try to call someone all i can hear is the distorting noise. When i move the menue to the soundcard while its on the dostorting noise the phone crashes and resets and all is better. When i turn the phone off and on it also fixs up.
    This happened to anyone?

So did you get the same problem as me?
Funny thing is i read up so much on this phone and all i heard was good things, also my friend has one and no problems.
But when i get its just my luck that i have to get a dogy batch

    Hi,
Seems a bit of a strange problem! I would advice maybe you try restoring your phone to the factory settings and if that fails contact your nearest nokia repair centre which can be found here:

  • HT1687 Voicemail Problem

Just got an iPhone 5 today.  Alls seems to be working except my voicemail.  Messages seem to be deleted as they come in.  All are in my deleted voicemail box, but the voicemail icon isn't showing that I have messages.  Also keeps saying password incorrect, but I've not set up a password yet.  In fact, i've never had a password for voicemail in previous iPhones.  Anybody know what I need to do?

Voicemail is a Carrier feature. Contact your Carrier.

  • HT2417 Voicemail problem

My iPhone 4 is telling me there's a voicemail but when I listen to it it tells me there's no messages but the red dot still remains.  I have had no missed calls so don't understand why it's done this-I only turned the phone off and back off again.  Any suggestions?

Basic troubleshooting steps from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore.
