6280 media player, turn off osd? goes over top of ...
Hi Guys,
I have a 6280 which is great, the only problem i have with it is, that when you play a video in full screen mode (any format), it displays the tags "Back" & "Pause" on the screen.
This goes directly over the top of the video. Is there a way to turn this off? Or perhaps there is a java app that i can use for playing videos that has not got this annoying feature.
I realise that all Nokia phones probably have this, and that this is not a "Bug", just a design flaw (In my view anyhow).
Perhaps someone could also tell me how to submit a suggestion for future firmware releases???
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Andrew (Wil33z)
Update: I had redone things so I had 986 mp3s on the player, and all would list in the media player...
Then I added 16 videos. I noticed I lost my first 3 mp3s. soooooo the 999 applies to MP3's and videos combined.
I took off 3 videos and the missing mp3 then were listed, added the 3 videos back and the top 3 mp3's in the listing went away again.
Maybe over the weekend I'll add some pics to the dang thing and see if they are also limited by the 999 combined total thing.
Would be nice hearing from anyone else that can confirm this is a limit, or that they can verify that there is no such limit, except on my phone!

Mac book pro,
Turns off and goes under protection, sometimes without any specific motivation, but most of the time when an External monitor is pluged-in.
I use it when I work with final cut pro, and this problem it's becoming huge and changing my workplans....
It can turns off also 10 times in two hours.
In many forums I read that the CPU temp could be the problem, but I've checked it and It's always around 62°-68°....
In some others they say that the new RAM could be the problem too.
Is anybody able to help me? (Underneath you can check the Panic Report and my mac informations)
Thank you so much.
Antonio

I need to repair my start up disc so I have to start up from installation disc. In doing so, my computer restarts, I hear the mac sound, then a grey screen and then turns off and goes on in this cycle endlessly. Why can't I restart from disc?
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple
logo appears.
5. Wait for installer to finish loading. -

6280 music player switches off
while playing music files on the phone for some reason it just switches off the music player and the phone goes back to screensaver/standby.
i used the pc suite to transfer files to a 2 gig memory card (san disk).
if i go back to play the track again it usually plays fine.
also the phone gives a "dull beep" as the player shuts down.
i've deleted files and reloaded but the problem keeps occuring sometimes with the same file, sometimes another one.but like i say when i go to play the file again it seems fine.
any advice?
cheers.I get exactly the same problem with my 6280 and SanDisk 2Gb memory card! Mine has about 1.5Gb of music on it and whenever I use Music Player on the phone to play the tracks in a random order, it gets to about the third track before it gives the "dull beep", resets and goes back to the standby screen. It's really frustrating when the 6280 is advertised as being a great 'music phone' and you can't even listen to more than a couple of tracks in a row! My old 6230i used to do this too... I think I will email Nokia Support for an answer to this problem and if I get one I will post it up here. Or if anyone else knows a way of fixing this problem then please let us know! Thanks
Phones I have owned: 5110 -> 6210 -> 6610 -> 6230 -> 6230i -> 6280 -
Is there a way to turn off the On Screen Display (OSD) of the DVD player from the DVD?
I'm creating a slideshow type of presentation on DVD and would like to have it operate with the "Play" or "Chapter" indicators come on screen each time the presenter pushes a button.pretty sure this is a function that can only be controlled by the DVD player's remote or controls, not forced off by the disc.

Bug in native video player: turns off (disables) the screen
Using Android 4.3 on an eXcite Write. I don't remember if this was an issue with the original Androind 4.2.1, I do know that the problem is not present on my old Asus TF700T which has 4.2.1.
Description: When playing a video with an application that uses the native (Android) video player, for instance Toshiba's own Media Player, when the video has a section with a black screen, the tablet screen is turned off, including sensing. Audio keeps playing, the only thing you can do is turn off the tablet.
This happens only once after boot, its repeatable (as long as the sequence is the same: boot, play, dark section, it doesn't matter when that section is).
I've reproduced this problem with Media Player, Plex (when it uses the native player, which is not always), and BS Player.
This is a bug report, not a question or asking for support (I don't see the point of calling for something that will no be changed, but if required, I can provide the log). If there is an Android upgrade, I hope this bug is corrected.Thank you for the information. I'll report it. I don't know that I'll have more information about it, but I'll certainly tell the engineers.

I have a bunch of Apple devices in my house (kids) and don't like the idea of all these devices (iPads, iPod touches, iPhones) always being connected to my home WIFI. Ideally, I would prefer the devices connect automatically when they are in use by a human and log off the network when they (the devices) go to sleep mode or are turned off.
This is not an answer, more of a question. I know that when a pad goes to sleep, it drops the connection. We all remember the thousands of posts from folks who had trouble re establishing the connection after waking up in the early days. What is different now is the use of push, and notifications. If you have these enabled, doesn't that mean that the wifi needs to stay active?
I notice that I have notifications on the screen that came in while asleep, and I can only believe that the wifi saw them. This is different from the old behavior or re grabbing the wifi.
So, to Pam, on one the devices you are concerned about, turn off notifications, fetch and push, put it to sleep, and see if it drops off the network. I am kind of curious.
By the way, having the wifi active has not shown me any battery usage. The router certainly does not care. Security is at the router end, so if somebody wants to hijack my signal, it does not matter if the pad is active or not. So I guess I am not clear either on what your issue might be. -
Iphone 3GS turns off and goes dead after i make or receive a call.
Hi i bought a Iphone 3Gs unlocked from a Grainger Games store in liverpool two days ago. I live in Ireland so returning would be hard but possible. I have charged the phone for 9 hours and it said 100 % charge but any time i make or receive a call it powers off and wont turn on until i charge it again. When i do charge it, it goes back to saying the percentage it was before it turned off .
Is there a way to fix this problem? Does it need a new battery or is it a problem with the phones hardware?
I would rather not have to return it but if i have to i will .
Can anyone help with this please.
Thanks.It needs a new battery.

Wifi turns off and goes straight to cellular
So I have been using the IPHONE 5 since OCT 2012. Around JAN 2013 I began using DATA at higher rates than ever before. I contacted Verizon and I did a factory reset. Thought things were going better until now. Again, my phone is using data at times when I am connected to the WIFI. I get on a call with APPLE and Verizon where I am told that the latest software update will make phone switch to data if wifi connection is disrupted. As a result, customers can incur large data usage when on WIFI> I am upset that APPLE does not make this known. The technical support staff directed me to the support section on the apple website for further reading. I have found nothing regarding this issue and APPLE cannot tell me when a fix is on the horizon....UGH!!!!
There is no fix as there is no issue.
You've yet to describe a problem.
The iPhone does not simply drop a Wi-Fi connection. It does (and always has) turned off Wi-Fi when in sleep mode to conserve power.
What leads you to believe that you are not simply using more data than you have in the past? -
Why does my mp3 player turn off automatic
whenever i use my mp3, sometimes it turns off by itself, can anyone help me?
This is the procedure... Download the latest driver (if required) and firmware from http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers. Install the driver file (if required). After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.
