6300 image resolution problem

When I take photos with my 6300 the images are stored at (what it seems) random resolution, varying from 160x120 to 1600x1200... This is very frustrating when you need a high quality photo, but opened in Photoshop it's just 320x 240 !!!
I have the camera resolution always set at 1600x1200 and the camera display also shows this at shooting time.
Any suggestions how to solve this problem ??

Are you using the zoom?
On some models when you zoom the resolution drops greatly.
On phone camera's it's always best not to use the digital zoom as you will always lose quality. You should move closer to your target if possible.
If you are not using the zoom you should check to see if new software is available for your phone at www.nokia.com/softwareupdate.

  • Aperture Image Resolution Problem

    I know there have been a lot of posts about image resolution, but I haven't found an answer to my problem.
    I use a DLSR and and shoot in RAW and/or maximum resolution JPG. When imported to Aperture, the file size is usually in the 10-15MP range. However, when I try to email photos in their "actual size" or export photos to BookSmart (blurb) to create a photo album, the photos become compressed (to about 1MP). According to blurb support, my 10MP images are only 96 dpi, and not enough for a high resolution image.
    I have my image export presets set to highest quality, original size, and 300 dpi, so I don't know what the problem is. Can anyone help me?

    Agree.
    OP:
    A quick review, just so we are on the same page.
    Digital image files have two "sizes".
    The actual image size is measured in pixels.  The digital image comprises a grid of colored dots.  Each dot is a pixel, which is short for picture ellement.  The dimensions of the image are given as so many pixels in one direction (usually height) by so many pixels in another direction (usually width), e.g.: 600 x 800 pixels, or 4,000 x 6,000 pixels.  The overall "size" of the image is calculated by multiplying the height by the width.  In the examples given, the first image is (600 x 800 = ) 480,000 pixels.  The second image is (4,000 x 6,000 = ) 24,000,000 pixels.
    That's a lot of pixels.  The size is often given in megapixels, where 1,000,000 pixels = 1 megapixel (abbreviated MP).  So the first image is approximately half a megapixel, and the second one is 24 MP.
    Pixels themselves have no other unit of measurement.  There is no way from the pixel count to know how many inches (or centimeters) an image will be when printed or shown on a screen.  In order to determine that, you must have the pixels-per-inch (PPI) of the printer or screen (or projector, or any other display device).  A 600 x 800 px. image, at 100 PPI, will be 6 x 8 inches.
    Pixels are device independent. PPI tells some programs and devices how big to display (or print) an image.
    The other image file size measures how much data is in the file.  Data is measured in bytes.  One thousand bytes is a megabyte, abbreviated "MB".
    Generally, the larger the image size, the larger the file size.  But this is not necessarily so, and shouldn't be used as anything but a very general guide.
    Your question is about resolution, which is a question of density:  how many pixels there are in a given area.  This is commonly measured in PPI.  Resolution and file size are independent.

  • Uploading images - resolution problems

    Hi all,
    We have been trying to upload images - signatures into ECC from SE78 - the length and width of the image is changed - 82 mm becomes 97 mm on upload.
    I believe this is due to some system setting / config around image resolution.
    can anyone give me some valuable inputs on the same.
    - Surya.

    Hi
    After uploading the image,edit the technical attributes - increase the resolution and check the box - reserve height automatically.
    Thanks

  • Problem with image resolution with larger screen size

    I was working on Basic Lens Sample (Basic
    Lens Sample) for windows phone 8 App. In this the camera by default sets to default highest resolution.
    Just had couple of questions on this:
    1.) How to change basic settings like resolution,ISO etc.,in this app, because during initial settings
    it only takes default value and when I try to change that it throws an error. Also a code comment is written during initialization of camera to take only these default values. So when to change these settings and how?.
    2.) How to adjust resolution for phablets having 6" screen. Like when I run the code in Lumia 1320,
    the image resolution is not that good and it breaks. So how to adjust screen resolutions for catering different smartphones with different resolutions and screen sizes.
    Any solution or suggestions or snippets is very much appreciated.
    Thanks In Advance.

    Hello,
    For you first question, we can use
    GetAvailableCaptureResolutions method of PhotoCaptureDevice to get the available resolutions in device. That code sample returns the largest resolution by default, you just need to choose an appropriate one. You can find it in CameraController class in
    Models folder in the project.
    For you second question, I tested the sample in lumia 1320, I didn’t see the image broken.
    >> So how to adjust screen resolutions for catering different smartphones with different resolutions and screen sizes.
    You can get an appropriate resolution image and let the OS downscale it for you. You can find the support resolution in the following link. Go to Supported resolutions section.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj206974(v=vs.105).aspx.
    If you want to display the whole large resolution image in lower resolution device, I think you can use
    ScrollViewer control. Use Application.Current.Host.Content.ActualWidth and ActualHeight properties to get the device resolutions, and then you can know if your app is running on a lower resolution device.

  • Image Resolution in Crystal Report

    I am facing problem in image resolution when resizing big picture in crystal report.
    Please help.

    Thanks for your reply
    The issue is the pictures (e.g. employee photos) are saved in Database as BLOB data type.
    The report is loading employee photo into the report (e.g. employee card), but the loaded picture is coming up with much less quality than the original.

  • Image quality problems

    What is the best way to import an image into iBooks Author? More specifically, what format should I use for my image?
    The problem I'm having is that I imported a logo in a PNG format and when I preview my book on my iPad, the image looks distored around the edges and blurry. The image is just a red web 2.0 looking font on a white background. It's not that the edges of the white background are blurry, but the edges of the red font against the white background in the image is blurry. It looks like the image is being compressed in some way.
    I also ensured that the image was kept at its original size, so it's not being resized by iBooks Author.
    I thought maybe something was up with the PNG file format so I tried JPG too, but I still had the same problem. I'm saving/exporting the photos from CS5.
    Any ideas what might be going on?

    Correct. I'm keeping the original image resolution of the image of 105x50 pixels. I'm not stretching it or resizing it within iBooks Author.
    I was just messing around with this some more and trying a bunch of export options from Photoshop and I found something that worked. When I selected "Save for Web & Devices" and saved it as a PNG-24, it displays cleanly on my iPad--no blurry or rough edges.
    I haven't noticed this problem with other images, but I think it was something to do with the color pallette I had for this image against the white background. I noticed that in selecting "Save for Web" it changed the colors slightly but it now works, so I'm assuming that might have something to do with it.
    I haven't tried saving it through Preview, but I hadn't thought of that, and I imagine that might do the trick too.
    Thanks, K T, for your time.

  • Continuous tone image resolution lower than specified

    The following message was posted in the incorrect forum; no legitimate solution to the problem was ever posted. I am re-posting it, as this is the same exact problem I am having, right down to the OS and version of Acrobat. Could someone please explain to me what this means and whether or not I should be concerned about it? I will also get two different kinds of results... one is a single number effective ppi on this error, such as 199, (which results in 200ppi if run through PitStop), and a two-number effective ppi, which we haven't been able to decipher, such as 501.357/179.55ppi (which should be a hi-resolution image).

    > All text should export as vector, since it's all on a layer above any kind of image.
    Is there any transparency in the text, though? If you float text over
    an image with transparency, it MUST be exported as an image. If it is
    floated over vector art with transparency, it MIGHT.
    It's easy to assume that just because something is on top, it doesn't
    ever need to be flattened. This is not in fact true.
    >
    >I am a little concerned: is this a flaw in the Acrobat Program?
    You mean in its preflight? Unlikely, it isn't rocket science to
    calculate ppi, so the numbers are probably right.
    >
    >Where is this "Continuous tone image resolution" turned on/off? Why is it important?
    That's probably a reference to Distiller settings. I think we've
    established that you aren't using Distiller.
    >
    >Is InDesignCS2 flattening to low transparency settings, even though my settings dictate high?
    You'd probably need to ask in the InDesign forum. But bear in mind
    that the flattener is free to use lower resolution if it thinks that
    is all that is needed for particular effects.
    Maybe you could reopen the PDF in Illustrator, and use that to select
    the images in the flattened page. Might illuminate what is going on.

  • Finding image resolution in a PDF?

    I am currently working to perform some maintenance for an app that formats and resizes documents, usually PDFs. The problem happens when certain files are uploaded with an unusually large image resolution (according to the Preflight Properties, 2222.222/2222.222 pt/in). The documents with this resolution come in with file sizes of 36"x24" and end up formatted to 8.5"x11". This leaves the text and a lot of information unreadable.
    I am using Visual Basic with iTextSharp to interact with the PDFs that come in. I'm able to find the width and height in points of the document without issue. Finding the image's width/height pixel count is what is giving me fits.
    Is there any way in iTextSharp that I can determine the pixel count for the width/height of a PDF Image, or am I heading down a dead end street here?
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    I hate to reply again, but I'm still stuck. I've been through the SDK and documentation and have had no luck finding anything to help solve this problem. I don't really need to extract the image per se, I just need to find the resolution of it. Could you possibly point me in a definitive direction in the SDK/Documentation that I could use? There are a couple examples that deal with Preflight but none dealing with the image in the PDF or its properties.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Image resolution for Photoshop EPS bitmaps

    Greeting all,
    I've posted about getting image resolution before and have a script we've been using with great success but I just learned from my operator that the script never returns the resolution for Photoshop EPS bitmap files.
    I'm using .Graphics(1)..ActualPpi(0) and most times works just fine except for the Photoshop EPS bitmap files. Photoship color EPS, gray EPS and a bitmap TIF saved from Photoshop works just fine. Everything except Photoshop EPS bitmap.
    I've tried using .EPSs(1).ActualPpi but that yields the same result.
    Is there somethnig I'm missing (again)?
    Many thanks,
    Ken

    Hi guys,
    I offer the following approach to solve the problem:
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var myAllGraphics = myDoc.allGraphics;
    var myGraphic = myAllGraphics[0];
    var myLink = myGraphic.itemLink;
    var myLinkXmp = myLink.linkXmp;
    var myCreator = myLink.linkXmp.creator;
    if (myCreator.indexOf("Adobe Illustrator") != -1) {
        alert("The first link was created in Illustrator");
    else if (myCreator.indexOf("Adobe Photoshop") != -1) {
        try {
            var myXres = myGraphic.actualPpi[0];
            var myYres = myGraphic.actualPpi[1];
        catch(err) {
            if (err == "Error: A value is not available for this type of image.") {
                var myXres = myLinkXmp.getProperty("http://ns.adobe.com/tiff/1.0/", "tiff:XResolution");
                var myYres = myLinkXmp.getProperty("http://ns.adobe.com/tiff/1.0/", "tiff:YResolution");
        alert("Resolution of the first link:\nX: " + eval(myXres) + " ppi\nY: " + eval(myYres) + " ppi");

  • How to change image resolution in oracle forms.

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on oracle forms 10g (Windows7 OS). Can we get the image resolution of an image item in oracle forms? Can we resize the image in terms of resolution?
    I have a requirement where user can upload only 1280x720 size images. Either i have to validate the image resolution and give them a message saying 'Only 1280x720 size images are allowed' or simply i have to convert the image to be upload to 1280x720 size and save in the database. If someone could give the solution for the above problem that would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pramod SR

    1. You need to resample.
    2. You can automate the process.
    1.
    Open one of the images.
    Go to Image > Image Size
    Set the units to Percent (100)
    Change the resolution to 300 ppi (not cm!)
    Make sure Resample is checked
    2. automation
    Test the above steps to make sure it works.
    Record the steps as an action.
    Make a droplet from the action.
    Drag the folder with the images to the droplet.

  • Scale image strange problem

    Hi
    I have loaded an image using MovieClipLoader and am using the following code to scale it to fit a photo frame:
    var mcLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    ..  add listeners ...
    mcLoader.loadClip(filePath, frame.imageHolder);
    function loadInitEventHandler(target_mc:MovieClip):Void
    var scale:Number = Math.min(frameWidth/target_mc._width * 100, frameHeight/target_mc._height * 100);
    target_mc._width = scale;
    target_mc._height = scale;
    The code works for most of the images except images with resolution 2880 x 2880.  It did not scale properly - part of the image on the right does not show. Please see images below.  The lower image scaled properly, but the upper one did not.
    The math seems to be correct and I do not know what the problem is.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

    I checked the resolution of the image on the web server.  It is more than 2880 x 2880.  I thought the image resolution was 2880 x 2880 at first because I run a trace and it says 2880 x 2880.  Probably Flash changes the resolution to 2880 x 2880.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Resolution problems when i crop

    hello! i do a lot of photo editing and am temporarily using a laptop and a trial version of cs4 (i normally use cs2). i often square crop my images but have noticed that when i crop an image in cs4 on this laptop (running windows 7), my resolution automatically changes from 72 to 1 (for a jpeg image) or from 240 to 1 (if i shot in RAW)... i have never had this problem before.
    i already checked to make sure i hadn't accidentally set the resolution to 1 in the tool bar... i also tried cropping with the resampling box UNCHECKED but that didn't work either... resolution was still changed to 1...
    please, please help!! i have an assignment due for my photography class and i have to fix all my old images and properly crop new ones...
    thanks for reading this!

    well, the thing is, i have been setting the same width and height for my square crops for over  a year now... the resolution problem started when i started cropping on this laptop, as opposed to my home computer (which i cannot use now as i am temporarily in another country!)...
    NOTE: my pictures come out of my camera as follows: pixel dimensions 4272 X 2848 and when i crop, i always use the smaller dimension (2848)...

  • XSD Resolution problem - Unable to load Translation schemas

    Hi,
    I've run into a very strange kind of problem (not to say some are less strange then others). Let me explain the context of the situation.
    I've got a BPEL process calling two plsql packages on ORA database, one Java web service running on the same weblogic server and couple of other services (eg. notification services, jdbc select/insert, etc.). There is no problem with the last listed, but definitely something wrong with the web service and the plsql callouts.
    When I deploy the BPEL process and execute it, the first two instances always fail. The same happens when I restart the server, the errors are repeated after a certain period as well (for example over night). The process always fails EXACTLY TWICE, before running normally. Every other instance executed after the two initial failures runs WITHOUT the following error.
    I mentioned there are two plsql callouts in the process, earlier the first instance failed on the second one and the second instance failed on the first. Now, it mostly fails on the second callout. I've made no significant changes in the code. Perhaps the strangest thing about this is that it fails when invoking the plsql package but the error concerns xsd definitions of the web service that plays no role at this stage.
    All my services are correctly deployed, I deleted all interface definitions from MDS repository and redeployed SOA bundle again before installing each service.
    I think it has something to do with generated xsd definitions by the java web service (it's the http://localhost:8001/S50040PrenosSouboruBS/PrenosSouboruBSSOAP11BindingPort?xsd=1 and http://localhost:8001/S50040PrenosSouboruBS/PrenosSouboruBSSOAP11BindingPort?xsd=2 from following stack trace), but I can't figure out what exactly is wrong with them.
    Anybody come accross a similar error? Thanks for tips, I've run out of ideas.

    I had similar issue, when i deployed composite using Jdeveloper. The problem was with my adf-config.xml pointing to dev server and all my references in my composite.xml referring to test server.
    I changed property of 'oracle.mds.persistence.stores.db.DBMetadataStore' in adf-config.xml to test server. After adf-config.xml change in Jdev my compilation went smooth.
    Note: If above changes doesn't work, try restarting JDeveloper, sometimes the changes in adf-config.xml is not getting effect immediately.

  • How do I change the image resolution of a photo?

    Hi..,
         I am the beginner in Photoshop.
         I want to change one image resolution from 72 dpi to 300 dpi.
         So, I search and got one pdf for change the resolution of the image. In that they mention, take the "Printscreen" of the image and paste in the photoshop and change the mode(Index - flatten) and change resolution via the "Image -> image size -> Resolution".
         Like that i did, it changed correctly.
         After that I Open one already saved image file in Photoshop and do that same steps but the resolution was not changed.
    So, now how to change that saved image resolution to 300 dpi...??
    Regards.,
    VISWA

    Viswa,
    To find the current resolution of your image, follow these steps:
    With your image open in Photoshop, Image > Image Size (Like you've already done earlier).
    Check the resolution as shown above. If it doesn't show 300, enter 300, hit OK and 'Save' your image.
    Open the file and check again. If it still shows 72, post back with more details of the type of file you're trying to open in Photoshop and if possible, a screenshot so we can help.

  • EHP1 Upgarde Monitor screen resolution problem in a support message

    Hi Experts,
    We have recently upgraded our Solution manager to EHP1, iam facing a screen resolution problem with 15 inch monitors.
    Our key users have 15 inch monitors to their system and when they try to reply a support message under transaction data-> Overview tab -> reply it is showing only one line for them , due to which they are unable to enter the complete data in it.
    How ever We have found that this does not occur with 17 inc monitors as the required screen resoution 1280* 1024 is possible due to bigger size of the monitor.
    can any one suggest how to make the overview tab visible completely with small resolution monitors.
    Thanks
