6310i and INTERNET - Please HEEELP!

Hello! I have a 6310i (pretty old, I know...) and I am trying to connect to internet, but in vain! I am using a pocket pc which connects -successfully- with the 6310i but when calling the Vodafone appropriate number from the pocket pc, the 6310i does not connect to internet! Any ideas why? By the way, I am using a data SIM card from Vodafone just for sending data to an internet server, my intention is not to do browsing or anything like it. I used the SIM card with a Sharp GX29 and it worked in a second. Someone from Vodafone indicated that the 6310i is pretty old to connect to internet. Is this the answer? Much obliged for any advice!

I expect that you have seen this quoted for the 6310i:
"The Nokia 6310i supports an open WAP technology standard for mobile Internet based content. WAP 1.2.1 (Conformance June 2000) and its specification contains WAP over GPRS, push service message indication, direct calling, direct editing, downloadable calendar and contact items, cookies, optimised protocol stack for interactive mobile services, and support for both textual and graphical content. It also supports Java MIDlet downloads"

What is the IP address that your PowerBook is getting
from the AEBS? Does it start with 169? This indicates
that it did not properly communicate with the AEBS's
DHCP server.
Do you by chance have the access list feature enabled
on the AEBS? If so, did you add the MAC address of
the PowerBook's AirPort card to the list?
the infamous 169 IP address. yes, that is what it is showing right now. i do not have the access list feature enabled (i'm not even 100% sure what it is, but by looking at the configuration i think i could tell). i did, however, end up doing a hard restart of the AEBS and re-configuring it, with the powerbook, with no luck at all.

The BES (corporate email) only option, and not receiving BBM invites would indicate to me that you don't have a BlackBerry data plan from your carrier. BBM and BIS (personal email) both require a proper BB data plan.

In the Desktop Manager > Sync > Configuration, make sure the calendar options are set to override Outlook.
Set it also to notify you of the changes, so you will have to approve any changes.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Problem with ACE and Internet Explorer 8

I have a problem with ACE (system A2(1.1)) and Internet Explorer 8.
exactly:
ACE is configured as end-to-end ssl with 2 rserver and with the sticky source address. When user is opening the virtual address from IEv7, the web portal (On Microsoft IIS) works fine.
If user opens the same web portal but using IEv8, the session is suspended after 60 seconds.
I think, that the reason is http keep-allive, which is sending every 60 seconds from the user's internet browser.

Do you have any idea how to resolve this problem: upgrade ACE, change the configuration on IIS or ACE ??

Using a persistent connection or HTTP keepalives should not have any negative effect on the ACE, so, giving you a straight-forward answer to fix it is not going to be easy.
I would recommend you to open a TAC case to have this investigated further. When you do, please, provide the following data:
A showtech from the Admin context of the ACE
A traffic capture taken on the TenGig interface connecting the switch with the ACE backplane while doing a test connection (preferably one with IE7 and one with IE8 to compare)
If possible, a copy of the SSL private key. Being able to decrypt the traffic capture to look inside the HTTP flow would really make troubleshooting much easier.

Swf link not working in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer but works in Safari

I'm sorry but Im a real newbie and really need help!!!
On the homepage of my website I have put a swf file that I linked to another page in my website through the div a href link and it displays great on safari and links, however in other browsers, when i try to click on it, it comes up with the link at the bottom of the browser (where it sometimes says Done), however it doesnt actually link, it jsut stays on the homepage.

I'm doing it for a client and they dont want it put up on the server yet, I wish I could put it up bc I have no idea what I'm doing!
Basically I wanted a swf file from Flash to display a range of products (I have turned all the products into buttons) and then I put coding into all the buttons to on release getURL which work in the swf file, however when I put the swf file into dreamweaver, the buttons worked in hover state, but the action scripting didn't work to link the swf file to another page in the website (the index in Our_brands folder).
So i decided to make it link to the index.html in Our_brands folder from wrapping the swf box in a div tag and linking the div tag <a href="Our_brands/index.html"> which links it great in Safari but wont link in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer.
Does that make any sense?

Phone line and Internet cut off overnight

Please can this be looked into immediately.
Our phone line and internet have both been cut off at 03:00am this morning,
I obviously cannot phone you guys to sort this so posting on here is my only resort.
The hub is still showing a blue light and the phone says 'check phone line'
But neither are actually working,
I need ASAP with this.

With the code I have everything works perfectly in Firefox,
but in Internet Explorer (7) I'm getting no data at all because of
entityEncodeStrings not functioning correctly (or so it seems). If
I remove this it displays in both Firefox and Internet Explorer
(though with the entities encoded).
It doesn't matter which way I do it, using the option
entityEncodeStrings: false or -1 I get the same (non-)results.
I'm very thankful for any help!

Mail and Internet Connection conflict

I have a VPN PPTP connection running. Most of my other Mac internet apps run fine (Safari, Fetch), for that matter Mail can read new emails. The problem is that Mail won't send mail until I close the VPN connection. I figure this is a port conflict, Mail output and Internet Connection using the same ports, is there a way to change the port either is using? If so, any idea what I should change it to?

Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, a number of users appear to have encountered this problem. Some of these users have reported that the problem just disappears the following day or shortly after. Other users have found various other solutions to this problem.
Firstly, are you receiving any date and time errors when you turn on your Apple TV?
Check that you are properly connected to the Internet, by ensuring that you have a proper IP address and not one starting with 169. Also check that your location for the iTunes Store is set correctly, if so you might try changing it and then changing it back.
If the problem persists try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general. You should also try restarting your router, or if this doesn't work you might like to try a restore.

Oracle 10g and internet connection

I recently installed a program which uses and installed the Oracle 10g database, but cannot run the database while I have an internet connection. If I disable my internet, I can run Oracle and my program. If I am connected to the internet and run the program it pops up this box:
DATABASE LOGIN FAILED
+... due to Oracle condition:+

When I click Ok, it pops up a new box with 2 tabs: one asking for me to:
Choose a (named database)
This installation stores data in a named Oracle database.
Since you may have several such databases, please select the name of
your desired database from the list below.
Note: If you are connecting to a local, single-user database, it may not have
a name, or its name may not work. In that case, you would need to choose
the entry "<<always use default>>".
There is a drop down box with 3 choices for the Database to use for this installation: XE, ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA, and <<always use default>>
The other tab is:
Describe Privileged Account
For maintenance purposes, this system also needs the name and password of
a privileged Oracle user account. It uses this privileged account
only as needed, for various setup and maintenance tasks, such as
o     creating the application's user account,
o     providing it with storage space,
o     providing backup/restore services,
o     applying software updates.
Please enter the privileged account's name and password below.
If you do not know the account's name and password, please contact your
Oracle database administrator (DBA).
And it is asking for a user name and password. The Oracle help said that info should have been displayed somewhere during the Oracle installation process, but being as though I installed another program that did the Oracle, I don't think I ever saw it.
I think it may matter:
XP Pro SP 3
2.4 GHz processor
3 GB RAM
To summarize; is there a way to run the Oracle database and my internet connection?
Finally, I apologize for likely not providing all you would need to answer my question, I will provide anything else I can if it will help.

I went through the steps in the loopback adapter installation link you provided and have added a loopback adapter. When I do the ipconfig/all I get the following for the loopback adapter:

Transfer of the account --- I lost my e-mail and Internet connection

I wanted to transfer our residential DSL account that was under my husband's name to me. They told me that I could keep my old Verizone-mail account, but when they did the transfer, my e-mail account got disconnected. Moreover, presumably since I have the same e-mail address as my 'new' address, I can't seemto activate my internet. Now I've been without an e-mail and Internet for the last several days. I called the 1-800 number > 10 times, spent hours, and still no one fixed it. This is crazy!!! Can anyone help?
